What an amazing place! I stayed in The Dollhouse and cannot recommend the house enough. Every detail was thoughtful, beautiful, and designed with love. A nice cozy place for a tired traveler. Lawrence and Danny were kind and welcoming (and make a mean breakfast!) Be sure to check out the garden and game room too. Laramie is a great town to visit and Mad Carpenter Inn seems like the best place to stay! I can’t wait to come back.

We had the best experience staying here. In a time where so many hotels cut corners and skimp on amenities, this place had it all. The breakfast was second to none, and my family and I played for hours in the game room. Wonderful location, super comfortable rooms, and the kindest, warmest owners. We really enjoyed our time here, and will definitely come back, and recommend this place to everyone coming through Laramie!

The Mad Carpenter Inn is a jewel in Laramie. The proprietors are lovely people who take delight in pampering and getting to know their guests. The breakfasts were absolutely wonderful and they were able to easily cater to my gluten allergy. I can’t recommend the inn enough.

Could not recommend this place more! Stayed a night in The Dollhouse which is incredibly cozy and quaint with amazing woodwork. Quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was served in the main house which I thought I had missed as I overslept but the owners came to check if I still wanted to eat and served up a delightful buffet. The owners are very nice and welcoming people that were fun and refreshing to talk with, as were the other guests at the breakfast table. Do yourself a favor and make this your top choice next time you're staying in Laramie!

This was one of the best bed and breakfast experiences we've had and we have stayed in a lot of them. The booking was a bit out of the ordinary for our current online technology, however, do not let that deter you. We were welcomed and treated so well by Lawrence and Danny. We stayed in the Dollhouse, a separate building that was so comfortable with its own little kitchenette set up. The woodworking that Lawrence has accomplished is breathtaking, along with the stained glass, both in the Dollhouse and in the main house. Breakfast was amazing. Danny made a special gluten free berry crumble for me which was delicious and so kind of her. We would absolutely stay here again.

Quite possibly the best B&B experience I've ever had.||Beautifully if ornate interiors, warm friendly and accommodating hosts, comfortable rooms, and a really outstanding broad and deep breakfast – for two people!||Would definitely return and highly recommend

Let me preface this by saying that I am very picky when it comes to travel/accommodations. We had to attend a wedding in town and I, knowing how small of a town this is, expected that options would be very limited. What I did NOT expect to find this absolute gem amongst said options. I read the reviews and immediately called to book the dollhouse. We have not stayed at a bed and breakfast before and the laid back booking system was not something we were used to, but don’t be thrown off by this. Danny and Lawrence are easy going, incredibly kind, very organised and thoughtful people: who seemingly with such ease, create a warm, welcoming, and incredibly comfortable stay for their guests. My mother in law stayed in the main house, which was also so beautiful and very comfortable. The dollhouse where we stayed, was exceptional as well - it felt like coming home to your favourite cool grandparents house for the holidays. We were allowed to check in early, there was a big community puzzle in the living room that we happily indulged in. Everything was very clean, crazy comfy beds (and my god, the reclining chair on the doll house? We’re now on the hunt for one ourselves…) luxurious shower and tub with jets, incredible breakfast with even better conversation, and more! I can’t say enough good things about the mad carpenter inn. My husband and I agreed that our stay here was the best part of our 24 hours in Laramie. I cannot say that I hope to come back to Laramie (this is not meant to be rude, zero offence to anyone - just illustrating how incredible TMCI is, as Laramie isn’t our typical weekend getaway…) but I would HAPPILY come just to stay here again. 11/10 would recommend!

Our home away from home—that would be the perfect description for the Mad Carpenter Inn. Our hosts, Lawrence and Danny Rue Thomas, went the extra mile to make our stay a memorable one. They welcomed us with open arms during our late-evening arrival. Our room, the Dollhouse, was immaculate and filled with beautiful solid-oak treasures, including a spiral staircase, that Lawrence had lovingly crafted by hand. Most of all, we felt as if we had known them for years as we visited with them during the sumptuous breakfast that Danny Rue prepared. Thank you, Danny Rue and Lawrence, for your gracious hospitality! We will be back! —Kathy and Steven T. Callan

Yelp
Would be SHOCKED if this isn't the best place to stay in Laramie. Absolutely incredible rate for what you get: I stayed in the Dollhouse (separate from the main house). It was absolutely lovely (small living room/ kitchen area/ bathroom downstairs, bedroom upstairs). Owners were beyond hospitable and permitted me to stay an extra day as I had food poisoning. -complimentary drinks in the fridge -spiral staircase -window AC -TV -tub & walk-in shower

Yelp
I have visited Laramie every summer for many years. Decided to avoid hotels this year and stay at a B&B. Mad Carpenter Inn was a fantastic experience! Lovely large older home located about a block off the campus of The University of Wyoming. The owner is a carpenter and did the remodel himself. It's a beautiful older home that I can't begin to describe and do it justice. Go on website and see Lawrence's artistic carpentry. There are 2 B&B bedrooms with private baths in the house. I stayed in the one bedroom cottage located behind the main house. It was called The Dollhouse. This is a one bedroom 2 story cottage with a bedroom and balcony on the 2nd level and up a spiral wooden staircase. Living room, small kitchen and bath with shower and whirlpool tub downstairs. Owners live onsite in the main house. This is a huge house which has 2 apartments they rent out and a huge game room for all to enjoy. The owners prepared a delicious breakfast for us each morning. We got to choose when to eat from 7:00 am to 8:30 am. Fresh ground coffee, juice, eggs, sausage assorted breads, pancakes and waffles and much much more. We enjoyed each breakfast with our hosts which was a real treat! Price was less than a local hotel. P.S. There's a neat little university coffee/sandwich shop across the street from the B&B that's open till 6:00 pm daily if you don't want to go too far to eat. Highly recommend this lovely B&B!

Yelp
The house is stunning in its detail and the proprietors are lovely. Healthy, good quality food for breakfast and lots of nice little touches in the room. It's very close to campus and an easy walk to downtown.

Yelp
My bridesmaids and I stayed here the night before my wedding (which was in Laramie) and got ready for the event at the Inn. This place could not have been more perfect. It is very picturesque - just what you want, even in a pre-wedding venue. The hosts were extremely accommodating; we had reserved all three rooms for the wedding party and Lawrence and Danny basically gave us the run of the whole place (and put up with our late-night giggling with nary a word). They even let us take over the main space with our hair/makeup/dress tornado as we got ready, and then picked things up for us after we left - even though we promised we would take care of it when we returned! The hosts were super friendly and easy to get a long with; for our wedding nigh, my husband and I stayed in the "The Dollhouse" (it was the perfect private spot - super adorable and romantic). Walking back to the room at about midnight from the venue, however, I found myself starving (as like most brides and despite the advice not to) I hadn't managed to eat any of our wedding dinner. My husband and I snuck into the main kitchen (where we had some leftovers stored) to grab a snack. We were caught by Danny....who proceeded to whip us up a delicious plate to take back to the Dollhouse. The breakfasts were phenomenal - everything you could want in a B&B breakfast and more. Overall I could not have been more pleases with our time here. Stay here. You won't be disappointed!
