What a place! We stayed in family room for 3 nights (2 adults and 2 kids 13 and 10). Very comfortable room with strong WIFI (and Netflix etc available). Lovely calm setting with very good choice of food (and generous portions). We happily spent time relaxing in the grounds with mini golf, pool tables and daily happy hour (great cocktails). It is also great location just a few minutes walk from main bars/restaurants. However, the best thing about this place is the owner William. So friendly and helpful, he couldn’t have done more to make our stay any better. Highly recommend this place. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Kampot!

We spent three nights at The Magic Sponge. Off the bat we received a friendly welcome and a welcome drink which was great! We also received a free room upgrade which was a lovely surprise. We had dinner there 2/3 nights and it was such great value for money. The portions were large and all the food was delicious. The other bonus is the movie/ tv show selection! There were so many options of new movies to watch, and the quality was fantastic. The free mini golf was also lots of fun. I would highly recommend this place to anyone coming to Kampot.

The food was in another league to what you find elsewhere in Kampot. The portions are big, it was mouthwatering and every bite is full of taste - the kitchens passion for cooking can really be tasted here. We had an amazing breakfast there and I can only recommend to anyone in looking for some food worth the money to give this place a good try! What really really impressed us, where the icecubes out of coffee for the iced coffee. The owner is a polite, kind and funny guy that added to the already amazing atmosphere we encountered. We will definitely come again and tell anyone to come taste this food heaven for themselves!

Strange sort of place. The hotel room is nice, but for the price there should be a refrigerator in the room. The location is not ideal. It's a 10-15 minute walk from center of town, but the worst aspect is the bird nest soup bird house building across the street which plays a recording of bird sounds 24/7. It is loud and annoying to say the least. In addition we had the ground floor outside room which has customers early for breakfast creating additional disturbance. The food at the restaurant is nice but the service is slow. Do not go with a large group or you may wait an an hour or more for your food. Not an overall terrible experience but I wouldn't go back for above reasons.

Great place , friendly welcome, great food under a cooling plant covered canopy. Spacious comfy fully functional rooms with extensive tv choices (if that’s your thing. )|Good position for the old town and riverside. Mini golf and pool tables for free! I visited twice- says it all. 🙏🏻

The Magic Sponge has one of the most varied menus in Kampot! I've eaten here many times and the food and service has always been excellent. The Jasmine garden is a great place to relax while having breakfast. The bar area is always a cool spot if you need to get out of the heat. There is also a generator on site which is a major selling point for those who like air-con in the well appointed rooms. This is a big selling point in a town that does still have some power cuts.

Cool building. Very art deco. Well looked after. William was very accommodating and let us bring our pup. Food was great and were large sizes and good price. The staff were very friendly also. Close to lucky supermarket and 5 mins from night markets and river. Even had a crazy golf course. Would stay again.

Sincere recommendation.This place is really great! Comfortable rooms, hot shower in well equipped bathroom, Netflix, so good food served in their restaurant (we lived the breakfast, but also had amazing chicken madras…).The best is no doubt the owner, William, really nice, funny, ultra helpful, walking the extra mile. The place is calm, safe, welcoming and warm.
