The Magnolia Pancake Haus is a charming gourmet diner with delicious offerings. The blueberry pancakes, classic French toast with bacon and eggs, and the standout Fitzgerald Eggs Benedict were phenomenal. Their unique menu items are incredibly tempting—I’d be a regular if I were local! The outdoor seating area is beautiful, perfect for events, and the adjacent Magnolia venue is ideal for gatherings, meetings, or weddings. Highly recommend! This version streamlines the text, enhances clarity, and maintains your enthusiasm. Let me know if you’d like further adjustments! Think Harder

After hearing so much buzz about Magnolia Pancake Haus, I finally made my way there, and let me tell you, it was so worth the wait! This spot is clearly a local favorite, and now I completely understand why. From the moment I walked in, the warm, inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home though I’ll admit, I was a bit excited to dig into what I’d heard were some of the best pancakes around! I went for the pancakes 🥞😋and the oatmeal, and I was not disappointed. The pancakes are an absolute must-try. Fluffy, light, and perfectly golden, each bite is like a little bite of heaven. They’re served warm and with the perfect amount of syrup, but honestly, they’re so good that they could stand alone. Whether you like them plain or with toppings, they hit that sweet spot between indulgence and comfort food. Now, let’s talk about the oatmeal. I wasn’t expecting it to steal the show, but wow, it was a pleasant surprise! It’s creamy and perfectly textured comforting without being too heavy. Topped with a sprinkle of cinnamon and brown sugar, it’s the kind of dish that’s just as satisfying on a chilly morning as it is on a cozy weekend brunch. Though the restaurant tends to get packed, it’s clear why people keep coming back. The food is outstanding, the service is friendly, and the vibe is welcoming. My first visit definitely won’t be my last I can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu! If you haven’t been yet (or if you've been hesitant because of the crowds), trust me, Magnolia Pancake Haus lives up to the hype. It's worth every minute!

Got there at 8:30am and the place was already almost full but still got seated immediately. If you can't make it before 9 get on the waitlist ahead of time :) our server was so helpful and friendly!!! Food came out fast and we never needed or wanted for anything! Ordered 3 to share! The Banana bread French toast w berries, mini chicken&waffle flight, stonewall ranch breakfast (eggs, 3 biscuits + sausage gravy, bacon or choice of other meat) everything was pretty great! Only thing I'd say is the chicken was pretty plain lacking in seasoning but syrup helped that :) overall 9.5/10 The property is gorgeous!! Definitely a great lil breakfast spot! Prices are comparable to other places and portions are nice!

Google
⭐️⭐️⭐️ The food was genuinely enjoyable, and the atmosphere at this restaurant was warm and inviting. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance gave off a cozy, well-designed vibe that made me feel like this could easily become a regular go-to spot. The layout was clean, the decor tasteful, and the environment felt family-friendly and welcoming. However, despite the positive first impressions, the customer service fell short and unfortunately impacted the overall experience. During our meal, a server who was cleaning a nearby table accidentally dropped a cup, causing water and ice to fly in our direction — soaking us in the process. While accidents do happen, what really stood out was that at first, there was no apology or acknowledgment at all. We were left sitting there wet and confused, and the moment just passed without any attempt to check on us or offer help. Much later, the server did return and apologize, stating that she was having a bad day. And while I appreciated the honesty, it was disappointing that the apology felt like more of an afterthought — prompted more by circumstance than genuine concern. A bad day should never override the importance of hospitality, especially when the guest experience is directly affected. Adding to the frustration, I only received a drink refill after being shut down earlier in the meal. I had to get up myself to find a straw from a different server and ask other staff members just to get basic service like refills. Our server never once returned to check on us proactively. Meanwhile, I watched other tables nearby receive attentive, cheerful service — their servers were engaged, laughing, and interacting warmly with their guests, which made our treatment feel even more isolating. It was disappointing to feel overlooked and undervalued, especially when the environment clearly had the potential to offer a high-quality experience. Good food can only go so far if it’s not supported by consistent, attentive service. In the end, while I can absolutely say the food and atmosphere were well above average, the poor service and lack of professionalism really took away from what could have been a five-star experience. With better staff training and more consistent attention to guests — even on tough days — this place could truly stand out.

Google
Shrinkflation is alive and well at MPH! It wasn't too long ago that their pancakes filled a typical dinner plate, and sometimes even hung over the plate, and the omelets took half the plate.... Those days seem to be long gone as their servings shrank while their prices increased. My omelet and pancakes were noticeably smaller. The omelet didn't even touch the inner lines of the plate, but was at least fluffy with a decent amount of bacon and cheese. The pancake size was truly a disappointment considering the name of the place has 'Pancake' in it. The 2 pancakes were served on a small plate and fit perfectly in the inside line. My pancakes were dry, but butter and syrup helped. Flavor-wise it was great, no critique there. The service was also bad. My party of 2 was seated right away due to a hostess mistake on check in (good problem to have, right!) But then we waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged by a server. We watched 3 other tables be seated, acknowledged, and have their drinks before my table was approached. All in all, the high standards of MPH seem to have disappeared and its relevance in the ever growing breakfast/brunch scene is getting as small as their portions....

Google
The food is alright, I mean the French toast was good, nothing to write home about. The biscuits were fluffy and nice, gravy was tasty. Again not exactly show stopping. Overall, the atmosphere is what you're paying for. Its beautiful but other than that food tastes like ihop, Dennys, or another breakfast place. The shrimp omlette was a surprise and definitely a 1000/10.

Google
The staff were great and I liked the vibe of an old southern breakfast place. We thought the place was overrated. None of the plates stood out as fantastical for the wait and price of the food. You’ll find better valued food elsewhere. Fyi. Wait to be seated. No prices on menu.

While visiting San Antonio, TX...We came to try this place after looking at numerous Google Reviews...needless to say, this place did not disappoint us! The Omelets, French Toast, and Yogurt Bowl was truly delicious...it speaks volumes that this place was packed at 1pm on a weekday. On that note, even though the place was packed - customer service was still phenomenal...all the waiters and waitresses were attentive and constantly checking on guest (never seen that at any establishment)... It was so many items on the menu that looked great - I can't wait to come back and try them all. We absolutely love this place!

Yelp
Amazing service and good. I get the southern Bennie every time, and it is always amazing. It is a San Antonio icon. Keep up the amazing work that y'all do

Yelp
This weekend I had the Three pig breakfast and it came with pancakes! I was fantastic! I didn't even see it till our joyful waiter suggested it! He sold us on it and it did not disappoint Luther was wonderful! Always with a smile (:

Yelp
The service was amazing and I would definitely come back and eat the "three pig omelet" it is sooo good!!! Sonja B did a great job!

Yelp
After months of passing by, we finally got a chance to visit the Magnolia Pancake Haus and were very impressed. Visited at 9am on a Friday morning. Short line and busy interior but they moved us through at lightning speed. Clean and bright interior that threw off a much better vibe than an IHOP. Service was impressive and our order came out fast and hot! The standout were the praline French toast - the pecan topped sauce was amazing! - and the Stonewall special of biscuits and gravy with eggs and sausage. For the first time in a while, someone in the restaurant industry knows how to do sausage gravy! Kudos all around, and we suspect that they use eggs from a local farm given how vividly orange the yolks were. Impressive service and very good food; definitely recommend Magnolia's to anyone looking for a breakfast spot! This place scores a 5 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK having a nosh here with Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. Would be OK having a beer here with Jesus' Dad. 2 out of 5 stars: Come-to-the-Apostles good. Meh. Wouldn't have my last supper here. 1 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Nobody good. I wouldn't have my penultimate supper here, either.

Yelp
Just lost a long-standing customer. The food was great, as always. So was the service and the time it took to receive our order. But when we walked up to the register to check-out, we see a sign that says, going forward, Magnolia will be charging a 3.5% fee for every credit card transaction. There was no sign on the door to warn people of that before they ordered their food. If there had been a sign, I would've turned around and gone someplace else. I refused to do business with places to continue passing along their costs to me. I know, I know, the restaurant will tell me the alternative is to raise the prices for everyone and that this way, only the credit card users have to pay more. Well, that's B.S. Sorry, but I won't be going back. There are MANY other restaurants in town that are just as good as Magnolia. So go someplace else.

Yelp
Meh. The corned beef hash tasted funny. The Farmers Scramble was OK, Lacking flavor. We had side orders of grits and toast. No butter, no jam. I asked for some and got two tiny paper containers of jam smaller than a quarter. One of them didn't even cover one piece of toast. No butter delivered.

Yelp
Every time I come here, the service is so nice, the place is clean and bright from all the windows, and the food never disappoints. I went yesterday and got the pumpkin waffle because I loooove pumpkin season! It was delicious

Yelp
Service was very fast for a busy Saturday. The banana foster pancakes were great, so was the peach waffle! The place was very clean!

Yelp
The lady said the table would be 1 hour. We left and 10 minutes later they text me to tell me the table was ready. There were empty tables all around. We even got on yelp to get on the waitlist. My son who is mentally challenged autistic was so disappointed on the way home because he loves the pancakes and atmosphere of magnolia pancake house. He was singing and smiling the whole way there. He didn't understand why we had to leave when there were lots of empty tables. That's a sure way to lose your customers.

Yelp
The restaurant was packed. They don't take reservations, so we had to come and put our name on a list. They estimated a wait time of 60-75 minutes for our party of 10. You don't have to stay there while you wait, but they have plenty of seating on their porch, so we did. They also have a bar around the back, in case you want a beverage while you wait. They called us in at exactly 60 minutes. The restaurant is decorated simply. The focus is more on the food and who you share it with than being "instagrammable". Our server was Harley - he was kind and experienced to be able to handle such a large table on his own. I ordered the Stonewall Ranch breakfast which I shared with my sister, along with the bananas foster pancakes. Both were delicious. The biscuits and gravy needed a little more gravy, but Harley brought it right over for us. It was a fun, bustling restaurant with great food.

Yelp
I'm always up for something sweet and the German pancake at Magnolia House off of 1604 and 281 didn't disappoint. It comes as an appetizer so I ordered a side of bacon one pancake cup of coffee. I'm super satisfied. I don't need any more sugar today.

Yelp
As featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, The Magnolia Pancake Haus lives up to the hype. The restaurant sits directly adjacent to its own Magnolia Halle--a large event venue. Despite being busy, service was quick, and our server was genuinely the sweetest ever The menu has a few standout items, including a fun Texas-shaped waffle and a surprisingly customizable scrambled egg option. I was pleasantly caught off guard when asked if I wanted to add anything to my eggs--something I've never been asked at a breakfast spot before. (I went with tomato and spinach.) Would recommend stopping by if you are in San Antonio!

Jennifer L.

Yelp
We have tried several other local places - but Diners Drive ins and Dives never disappoints. Thalia was our server who was attentive and very sweet! A must go (and take some seasonal churros or bread pudding home for later for an awesome treat)!

Yelp
This is one of a couple Magnolia pancake Haus restaurants in the area. This location is no different than the others, long wait times, but the staff hustles as they are used to the constant rotation of customers. Definitely worth the weight so plan accordingly.
google avatar

Yelp
Undoubtedly my favorite breakfast place in San Antonio. It's gets pretty busy but they do a wonderful job managing it. The best waffles I've ever had live here. The Texas-shaped pecan and peach waffles are amazing

Yelp
I'm not usually a fan of breakfast spots, but Magnolia Pancake Haus might just be the best breakfast place I've been to. It's extremely popular, especially on weekends, so I highly recommend getting in line through Yelp to avoid a long wait. The service was quick and everyone there was super friendly, which made the experience even better. The food is absolutely delicious. My fiancé always goes for the omelettes, while I usually stick to the basic breakfast with over-medium eggs, and everything has been great every time. This visit, we tried the strawberry shortcake pancakes which were sweet, fluffy, and fantastic. We also added a side of French toast, which was exactly what you'd expect, and it didn't disappoint. If you're looking for a solid breakfast spot, Magnolia Pancake Haus is definitely worth the visit! Highly recommend it for a hearty and tasty start to your day.

Yelp
Best pancakes and waffles and anything country breakfast. Delicious and it's just the way mamma would make it, but don't tell mamma it's better!
google avatar

Sarah B.

Yelp
The food always comes out HOT and Tasty!! The service has always been A-1! While on the weekends there can be a wait, it's worth it!
google avatar

Sneha G.

Yelp
Sunday brunch was a great time here. Cute and cozy vibe. If you're going on a Sunday/busy time, wake up early and get yourself on the waitlist online before they turn it off for the day, that is what got my friends (group of 5 and 4) in for Sunday brunch! Food was so tasty!! And affordable. It did take a while for the server to come get our order, but otherwise would go again!
google avatar

Kayla V.

Yelp
Piece of advice -- put yourself in line on Yelp before you get here!! Okay, now that that's out of the way... I can't fully judge because I didn't have the pancakes, but I liked my coffee and the omelet I got. And I love that Guy Fieri was here!
google avatar

C G.

Yelp
As usual, food was delicious. Highly recommend Farmers scramble, different flavors complement each other perfectly!
google avatar

Oliver B.

Yelp
I only live a few miles away from this location and that makes me happy. The food is always good and the service is top notch. I really enjoy their coffee as well. They will even let you take your coffee in a to go cup when you are ready to leave. I got the weekend special was a cinnamon roll waffle for $11.50 plus tax. I added eggs and sausage patties for an extra charge. The waffle was delicious. If you can try it this weekend do it(11/2 -11/3)! The eggs and sausage patties were good as well. There is a wait time most of the time, but it's worth it in my opinion. Just get on their waitlist before heading to the restaurant and you will be good. Definitely eat at this place if you're hungry for a good breakfast.
google avatar

Pete M.

Yelp
Outstanding food, outstanding service. Brought my out-of-town guests here and they loved it. From the eggs to the bacon, the french toast to the pancakes, they're all very good. Thumbs up!
google avatar

Sia B.

Yelp
I've been several times and it is definitely one of the brunch places I can go to as a safe option. They have a smaller seasonal menu that rotates throughout the year and it's perfect so someone like me who likes to try new things every time. the only thing is that if you try to go on the weekends, it is incredibly busy but it is definitely worth the wait! With that, it does get pretty loud sometimes and often difficult to hear people near you. Also their prices are pretty reasonable for the amount of food you are getting!

Hector G.

Yelp
The food is worth the wait. Too bad we couldn't make reservations online. Everyone is so friendly.
google avatar

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
My waitress was amazing. She was attentive, and super friendly. The blueberry pancakes are really good, and they keep the syrup warmed up, which is a nice touch. I got a seasonal food, the grilled cheese, eggs Benedict. It was different, but I liked it. My boyfriend got a breakfast scramble bowl. I thought this meal was going to be expensive, because for breakfast it seems like all restaurants want to charge for things like refills on juices. But, the meal was only $38 total for everything that you see on the table here.

Lindsey G.

Yelp
I saw a negative review here that said the portion sizes are smaller, including the pancakes. I have been a customer since I moved here in 2016, and have pictures of the beautiful breakfast spreads since that time. The pancakes never spilled over the plate. They have always been what I consider a normal size pancake. That is one of the reasons why I love Magnolia. I love their style of pancakes. We always enjoy the food. The thin consistency of the syrup is not my favorite, but the flavor is amazing and I will choose their pancakes every day over others.
google avatar

Yelp
I was so disappointed when the original location near San Pedro and Bitters closed but I didn't want to go out to 1604 so I chose this location near USAA/Medical Center instead. I was greeted by a hostess and had to wait a few minutes to get seated. Waitress had arrived and took my order for french toast, bacon, sausage and a small apple juice. The bacon was a bit crispy and the french toast was OK. Service could've used some improvement and wasn't as good as the San Pedro restaurant. I don't like how Magnolia is too lazy to post their prices on the menu and wants you to scan a QR code instead.

Janet M.

Yelp
We just finished breakfast at The Magnolia & our server, Alonzo, impressed us all. First off, he greeted us in a timely manner & made suggestions to our orders without being pushy. He saw I needed water and refilled my glass without me having to ask. When we finished with a plate, he came by and picked it up. I love that! Alonzo was attentive without being intrusive or pushy. When we were almost finished and my water glass was 2/3 empty, Alonzo asked this time if I needed more. I loved that too.

Yelp
Busy place but using the Yelp! Waitlist feature pays off. We didn't have to wait very long at arrival, maybe 5 minutes. Very friendly staff all the way around. Chairs are hard wood however.. which isn't too comfy.. booths at least have a seat cushion. Service was attentive and very friendly. She helped us select the right omelet and shared her personal favorites and why. Oh by the way coffee was really rich and delicious. And they bring real half and half , not the fake stuff. My wife selected the joes eggs which is a frittata with mushrooms, spinach, eggs, cheese and a roasted pepper sauce that was so good. I had the Monterrey which was equally awesome. We opted the side to be the small pancakes which were fine but the syrup they brought to the table seemed watered down.. it poured like water, not syrup. So minus one star for the syrup, which could have been a lot better - yeah I know real thick maple syrup is expensive, but this either wasn't the real thing or had been diluted. Nevertheless, awesome food overall and very efficient. Definitely will go back.

Yelp
First time coming to the Magnolia Pancake Haus. We got here at 10am the wait time was already 40 to 50mins. Everyone that was coming in was willing to wait which is a great sign of good food and hospitality.the nice part about waiting is you don't have to just sit inside. They have an open area for people to walk around / let the kids run around. They put in your number and will text you when your table is ready. They have the wait time and placement on the yelp app. After sitting down you can really feel a southern charm. The staff is super friendly. The food was great everything came with a side of pancakes. I wish Benedict's had more hollandaise sauce. Other than that it was very good and we will be back!

Yelp
Seated immediately. Lindsay was my waitress and she was nice and quick to help me. She gave me the condiments I needed even before my food arrived. Food arrived quickly. Loved every bite and all the staff were friendly. Wonderful atmosphere .Highly recommend.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is always great. Service is efficient and friendly. Food is always delicious and the place is always clean. There is a wonderful outdoor area/seating while you wait for table. Recommend come super early if you don't want to wait long or join the wait list.

Yelp
While in town for business, I had breakfast at Magnolia Pancake House with co-workers. When I first arrived, I loved the look of the restaurant and the homey feel. There was plenty of parking. I was impressed by the large menu selection of breakfast items. I decided to try the seasonal special of churro French toast which was delicious. I also orders the corned beef hash, scrambled eggs and hash browns. Out of everything the French toast was my favorite. I wasn't crazy about the flavor of the corned beef hash but it wasn't bad. The server was very polite and helpful with explaining the menu. The food came out hot and fast. This is a great breakfast option when in San Antonio!
google avatar

Walter B.

Yelp
The strawberry cheesecake pancakes on the Haus seasonal menu deliver. Solid choice and $12 well spent.

Yelp
Everytime I have family in town I take them here for breakfast or lunch! Love the atmosphere, the coffee, and food is super yummy!

Yelp
Cute place, great for big parties. Looks like it has great seating outside for a fun night out, but we were only there for the breakfast. Food was good, but nothing amazing that I would go out of my way to get. We had the Southern Benny and the Corned Beef Hash. They were good, but the corned beef was super greasy. My stomach didn't agree with it, so my husband ate what I couldn't. So if you're not into greasy food, don't go for that dish. It's hard to think that dish was on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. I'd like to know what year, and how long ago that was. The pancakes were yummy though. I thinks it's safe to say the pancakes at a pancake house are going to be good lol. I should've taken a picture, but they put one, cute lil blueberry on top of our blueberry pancakes, I loved it lol. Service was great and quick, though there was a wait so be mindful of that when you get there. You can put yourself on a wait list on the Yelp app before heading there to make it easier.

Yelp
Went back to eat here with hubby after mom's appointment near by. For a table of three seating took less than a 30 second wait! My mom is disabled and small so the table to chair height was perfect. The accommodations for those with disabilities is very good here especially anyone in a wheelchair. I told hubby that portions were big and he got excited. He ordered the magnolia breakfast and gobbled it down! Didn't leave a crumb! I had the ranch breakfast with scrambled eggs and sausage. So yummy! The biscuits were delicious and the gravy wasn't too salty. Mom had the eggs benedict with season fruit in the side. For a day before Christmas Eve it was busy and moving but very homey and not intrusive. Definitely a nice breakfast place to take family and friends!

Yelp
Best corned beef hash of my life. I get the eggs Fitzgerald every time. I can't get enough. And their pancakes are amazing too.
google avatar

Mary Alice C.

Yelp
The parking great!! The service was just below standard, we got there around 9 am and the seating was not as bad. But the wait can be long, they have outdoor sitting to wait while they get a table for you. The potato's are more bland than anything I've ever had, the eggs were lacking salt. The best thing was the pancakes!! Other than that everything including the ambiance was ok. Definitely not worth an hour wait.

Yelp
Excellent waffle and egg dishes. Server was great. Feeling like a great place for breakfast.

Yelp
Pancake Place? More Like Disappointment House! We visited The Magnolia Pancakes Haus, a pancake-focused restaurant, and ordered a plate that came with pancakes. Part of our meal arrived on time, but the pancakes took almost an hour to arrive. My hash browns were raw, and the so-called 'banana pancakes' were just regular pancakes with a single banana slice on top. Both managers were sarcastic, saying "that's the menu", and showed no empathy or respect. They thought giving a half discount for the late pancakes and removing the banana pancake charge was enough, clearly it wasn't. No discount can make up for the long wait, bad food, and overall disappointment we experienced. The long wait completely killed my appetite. I left very disappointed, I will tell all my friends and anyone I know to avoid this place, and I will never visit again in my life. This level of service and food quality is completely unacceptable.

Ruth C.

Yelp
Was invited to magnolia pancake haus we tried to get on yelp wait-list didn't allow us too we had to be 7 miles from magnolia pancake haus ok so we did only to get disappointed when told at check in wait time is an hour well that don't make sense to me why not get on wait-list from wherever what does that matter ?

Yelp
We visit every 2 weeks and yesterday was spot on! We were served by Sy, the first waitress to actually talk to us and engage in a conversation while maintaining superior customer service! The food was phenomenal as always, the waffle is truly the creme de la creme being that it's the same flavor as the og pancakes but enhanced due to the airyness and perfect crispness. Please recognize Sy for the amazing experience she gave us, it was the first time we felt seen and truly taken care of!

Got treated by a friend for my birthday to bananas foster French toast. My French toast was great. I felt a little bad for the boy because there were not many berries on the strawberry Belgian waffle compared to other places I've been. My friend really liked her food (she is vegan, so few options, but the one they had hit the target for her). The decor is quaint, simple, old fashioned. Great service from our waiter.

Yelp
I thought our waiter was very rude. First time there so I had a lot of questions and wanted suggestion. Waiter acted as if my questions pained him to answer. Then when ordering my food I said I didn't want anything that is an additional cost... I received my bill and what do you know the waffle was an additional cost. If I said I didn't want anything that is an additional cost why would he offer/ suggest something that is an additional cost and me not knowing it was. The restaurant was not busy at all since we were there at 7 am, so he had plenty of time to provide excellence service instead of being rude. As I am eating he is picking up all the other plates that were at our table in front of me so I had to stop eating to allow him to reach over me. I would not go back. Food was good but not worth all the extra cost and bad service.
