We just enjoyed a 5-night stay at Hotel Majestic. We loved it! We stayed in a room with two beds, and the room was spacious and well appointed. We had total control of the AC and fan speed. The windows, however, were locked.
I have read some comments about deficits in service at this hotel, but they appear to have been corrected. The doorman always opened the door for us. The shuttle driver (a hotel shuttle takes you for free to three different KL locations) was always so accommodating. The waiters were attentive. (Getting the bill--not the check--can take some doing, not just here but in every KL or Singapore restaurant we visited.) The housekeepers were efficient and eager to please. The front desk clerks were quick to correct a small error in our bill. On our last day, as we were getting into the shuttle to go to the train station, the doorman, the guard, the concierge and the shuttle driver all bade us farewell. :)
We stayed on the 10th floor, facing away from the street, toward the bank building. We could hear the muezzin give the call to prayer over the loudspeakers at the national mosque down the street. With the fan in the room on high, it didn't wake us, and I actually liked to hear his call, even though it started at 5:20 a.m. and the last one was around midnight.
Hotel Majestic is within walking distance of the National Museum, the National Mosque, the KL Bird Park, and the Central Market. It is very close to the Sentral Station train and the mall, but because of how the roads are, we couldn't walk there from the hotel and took the free shuttle.
