Such an incredible hotel. Every piece was so meticulously well thought out, and very luxurious, it was nice to be surrounded by such beautiful antiques and a dark ambience which made our stay very cozy. We stayed in the corner studio which had a great abundant of space, jazz music playing, and the bed was comfortable. The Frette bedroom slippers are an added plus.
Restaurant is great, good food, and the bartenders at the lounge made great cocktails. Mostly everyone was very friendly, including the woman who did our check-out process. Our stay here was special.
The only negative we had was our “welcoming” experience. Unfortunately, I misread the pet policy mistaking it with another hotel. This hotel has a “no pet policy”. On top of feeling a little humiliated and simply just feeling bad for not following rules - the hotel concierge, John, was so unpleasant to speak with (before he even realized there was a small senior dog in my bag). My partner and I genuinely apologized, multiple times and respectfully adhered to the pet fees. John toured us around the property and it was the most uncomfortable 15 minutes - no smile, bad attitude, unwelcoming facial expressions/body posture. Just overall horrific. I work in the luxury service industry and unfortunately, unwanted situations happen all the time. However, good customer service is to find a solution and still make people feel good, it’s not that hard. We understood the hotel consists of quality rugs and one of a kind furniture - but in our defense, our senior dog is in a diaper 24/7 and paralyzed which is less destructive to material things. He could’ve saved both of us the tour and had just given us the key to our room. Thanks, John!
