Stayed for two nights over Christmas. The public rooms are really quite special and we felt like we were staying at a rather posh country house as guests. Clearly a lot of guests felt the same way and people chatted and connected which added to the conviviality. Even the dogs seemed to be having a particularly good time. Accommodation is delightful, modern, luxurious and comfortable. The Christmas lunch was super, a main course with all the trimmings, beautifully presented, topped and tailed with canopies, soup and desserts, I have no idea how the kitchen did it! The late evening buffet was spectacular and we felt obliged to try despite being almost spherical by that stage! However the outstanding feature was, as always, the staff. They coped with dietary requirements and awkward requests with grace and good humour. Whoever recruits for this hotel deserves a raise, just after the waiting staff get a really big one .
We had a lovely Christmas and will be back in the New Year.
