The Maltings (Weybourne, Norfolk) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Once a working maltings, then a war depot and later an artist’s studio, The Maltings has been transformed into a coastal getaway with a destination restaurant and a scattering of stylish rooms and suites. The original brick-and-pebble buildings remain, now softened by leather club chairs, floral wallpapers, freestanding tubs, and low-key luxury. The coast is minutes away, but with fairy-lit courtyards, a gameroom, and fireside reading nooks, you may not be in a rush." - Tablet Hotels

Stayed for two nights over Christmas. The public rooms are really quite special and we felt like we were staying at a rather posh country house as guests. Clearly a lot of guests felt the same way and people chatted and connected which added to the conviviality. Even the dogs seemed to be having a particularly good time. Accommodation is delightful, modern, luxurious and comfortable. The Christmas lunch was super, a main course with all the trimmings, beautifully presented, topped and tailed with canopies, soup and desserts, I have no idea how the kitchen did it! The late evening buffet was spectacular and we felt obliged to try despite being almost spherical by that stage! However the outstanding feature was, as always, the staff. They coped with dietary requirements and awkward requests with grace and good humour. Whoever recruits for this hotel deserves a raise, just after the waiting staff get a really big one . We had a lovely Christmas and will be back in the New Year.

I went for dinner with my girlfriend who is a coeliac. She was able to eat 99% of the menu, including desserts. Front of house and chefs very knowledgeable and accommodating to her allergy and quality of the food never suffered because of it. I have no dietary requirements and the food and drinks were excellent. Would definitely go back and maybe stay next time!

Beautiful hotel with amazing staff who were friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us. The food was excellent and plentiful and the Grain Store restaurant has been renovated beautifully. The only negative was the lack of clothes storage in the bedrooms. No wardrobe and no drawers, just four hooks on the wall. Hopefully this bizarre situation will be remedied with enough client feedback! All in all though, a lovely Christmas stay which we hope to repeat for Christmas 2026.

The two of us had booked at The Grainstore for lunch. The building renovation is impressive. The welcome by the staff was warm and friendly. And the food was some of the best we have eaten in Norfolk - extremely tasty and beautifully presented. It was perfect for our anniversary meal. And now we know, we will be looking to return!

We had the most wonderful time at this hotel! The bedrooms were unbelievably comfortable, very quiet and peaceful. The breakfast was delicious. They had everything you could possibly want, my partner had a cooked breakfast and I had the most delicious yoghurt and home-made granola. We took our dog and they were very dog friendly, They even left a little dog bed and bowls in our room for her. I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough they bent over backwards to give us a wonderful time!!!

We booked a one night stay which included the festive meal, breakfast, a small gift and drink. We were warmly welcomed at check-in, the room was lovely, peaceful and comfortable. The dinner was delicious and the service was great, the overall atmosphere in the restaurant was relaxed and friendly. There were plenty of options at breakfast and it was great value for money again the service and food was excellent. We would definitely recommend the Maltings and the restaurant, where you will find comfortable accommodation, delicious food and friendly attentive staff.

We stayed as a family for four nights and had a wonderful stay. All the staff were brilliant at helping my elderly parents, but particular thank you to Victoria for going "above and beyond" when we needed extra help. Also a big thank you to Eliza in the Cottage for lovely treatment. Really enjoyed the food in the Grain store particularly the Brancaster smoked salmon and oysters, both superb. The website photos dont do justice as to how nice the rooms are in the main house with 3 wood fires available for cold weather.

It was a wonderful surprise to discover such a beautiful place near the beach. The village looks amazing in every season, and The Grain Store was perfectly decorated for Christmas. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent — everyone was very kind. My wife and I will surely return soon, and next time we’ll stay in one of the lovely rooms, which feel like a little village within the village. Everything was truly beautiful.
