"The undisputed grande dame of Filipino hospitality, the Manila Hotel has so many tales to tell that even Hemingway was impressed. “If the story’s any good,” he’s reported to have said, “it’s like Manila Hotel.” The Nobel laureate was but one in a series of visiting dignitaries, from military brass (General MacArthur took up residence in 1935 and left shortly before Japanese troops occupied the property in the ’40s) to Hollywood A-listers (including Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. and Sammy Davis, Jr.) to rock stars (when the Beatles notoriously snubbed Imelda Marcos by accident in 1966, they stayed here). The hotel has had plenty of cosmetic work done as well, including a dramatic renovation for the 2012 centennial festivities. So while you can still stay in, say, MacArthur’s quarters (known as the MacArthur Suite), the bathrooms now come with Bulgari toiletries and the bedrooms with HDTV. There was little the hotel could do to improve upon the already amazing bay views, as you’ll see from the suite’s dining room windows."

Spent Christmas at this lovely hotel, and had a wonderful time there. it’s a very classy and historic establishment, and the Christmas decorations were beautiful. . We’ve visited it many times over the years, and it’s true that some of the room fixtures and fittings could do with upgrading, especially the rather clunky TVs, also the by now pointless bathtub TVs which as far as I know haven’t worked for years. Younger guests may not watch TV so much anyway I guess. WiFi is still restricted to 4 devices according to the room information, yet even budget hotels in Manila now often offer unlimited access, so perhaps time to.move with the times? Staff courtesy, friendliness and professionalism are faultless. It’s a real pleasure to encounter them. The breakfast is the best ever, replenished regularly and way better than even more expensive outfits can muster. A superb swimming pool, good atmospheric bar and food offerings complete the picture. We highly recommend the Manila Hotel for a lovely and very classy stay, which is also very much worth the money. You can easily pay a lot more in Manila for an indifferent experience. Well done, and thank you.

The Manila Hotel, a timeless icon, offers a blend of historical charm and modern comfort. Stepping into its grand lobby, one is immediately transported to a bygone era of elegance and opulence. The hotel's rich history, evident in its ornate architecture and vintage furnishings, adds a unique allure to the guest experience. While the rooms and facilities may show signs of age, they are meticulously maintained, preserving the hotel's heritage while ensuring a comfortable stay. The pool, a tranquil oasis amidst the bustling city, invites relaxation and rejuvenation. The well-equipped gym provides a space for fitness enthusiasts to maintain their routines. The hotel's culinary offerings are equally impressive. The breakfast buffet, a feast for the senses, showcases a diverse array of international cuisines, catering to every palate. From savory delights to sweet indulgences, there is something to satisfy every craving. However, the lounge service, while adequate, could benefit from enhanced attention to detail and efficiency. Despite a few minor shortcomings, The Manila Hotel remains a captivating destination, offering a glimpse into the Philippines' glorious past while providing a contemporary hospitality experience.

The rooms are glamorous but a little bit run down. The breakfast buffet is huge, but the air in the breakfast hall is very cold due to the strong AC. The hotel also has a pool and a spa.||You can get a buffet dinner at the hotel for 3500-4000 php. Inhouse guests get a discount of 20%. The buffet offers many cuisines, but there are not as many vegetarian dishes as we had hoped for.||The service was great.

I had an amazing experience at Café Ilang-Ilang, where their breakfast buffet truly stood out as one of the best I’ve had. The variety of dishes was impressive, and everything was fresh and flavorful. What made it even better was the bakery – I couldn’t resist trying some of their pastries, and they did not disappoint. The bakery alone is worth a visit! On top of all that, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. It’s definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re looking for great food and warm service.

Our stay at The Manila Hotel was exceptional. The hotel’s historic charm and well-maintained interiors create a unique and welcoming atmosphere. The staff were attentive and courteous, always ready to assist with a smile. The room was comfortable and clean, with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The view of Manila Bay added a special touch. Dining at Café Ilang-Ilang was a highlight, with a variety of well-prepared dishes that catered to different tastes. The location is also ideal, close to cultural and historical sites, making it convenient for exploring the city. Overall, the Manila Hotel offers a wonderful mix of comfort, history, and excellent service. Highly recommended for a stay in Manila.

The staff at the reception and breakfast restaurant were very friendly and helpful. The team at the lobby hotel restaurant was also nice but not very attentive. The breakfast buffet had a great selection and was very good, although the coffee was quite weak. The rooms are outdated with old carpet flooring, which is starting to lift in some areas. On the other hand, the fitness center is modern, newly equipped, and exceptionally well-furnished for a hotel gym. The opening hours are also excellent! Overall, it’s okay, and the location is convenient.

Had a seminar here, they couldn’t refill the buffet properly. There were several dishes that were left empty. From kilawin, cold cuts, salads (3kinds) spinach pasta, the dessert table, and bread. I expected more from an established hotel The doctor at the infirmary was great. Accommodated me for my concern, and was very kind.
