"The undisputed grande dame of Filipino hospitality, the Manila Hotel has so many tales to tell that even Hemingway was impressed. “If the story’s any good,” he’s reported to have said, “it’s like Manila Hotel.” The Nobel laureate was but one in a series of visiting dignitaries, from military brass (General MacArthur took up residence in 1935 and left shortly before Japanese troops occupied the property in the ’40s) to Hollywood A-listers (including Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. and Sammy Davis, Jr.) to rock stars (when the Beatles notoriously snubbed Imelda Marcos by accident in 1966, they stayed here). The hotel has had plenty of cosmetic work done as well, including a dramatic renovation for the 2012 centennial festivities. So while you can still stay in, say, MacArthur’s quarters (known as the MacArthur Suite), the bathrooms now come with Bulgari toiletries and the bedrooms with HDTV. There was little the hotel could do to improve upon the already amazing bay views, as you’ll see from the suite’s dining room windows."

We had an absolutely amazing time. The rooms were spacious and spotless, with great Filipino design. The breakfast buffet was delicious with a huge variety of options. Over all My stay at the Manila Hotel was spectacular. From the moment I arrived i felt the hospitality until check out. And special thanks to Ms. Zeny Gonzalo who went above and beyond to make my reservation stay happen. The room was beautiful and spotless, but the truly exceptional service is what made my stay memorable. I will certainly return on my next visit.

Wow, my stay here was truly incredible. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and it was fascinating to experience a luxury hotel Filipino style. I wasn't expecting all the staff to be wearing traditional dress. The breakfast buffet was truly something to die for and I was sad I had to miss it on the last morning. I don't usually treat myself to luxury hotels but this was a great place to do it. The location is kind of far from Makati and other sights to see in Manila, but it was nice to be close to Rizal Park and the Ocean Walk. Honestly, it was worth it just to stay in this hotel! 10/10 recommend.

It’s a 10-star hotel for me. While my opinion is highly subjective, the experience was truly wonderful. The staff members were exceptionally accommodating and possessed a humble, welcoming attitude. The room we had certainly showed the antiquity of a Colonial Manila building, well the overhead shower in our room was dripping and the toilet flush sometimes stuck, causing the water tank to refill endlessly until manually adjusted. However, these are minor, expected flaws, and I can confidently say the place is aging gracefully! There are many features that highlight the hotel's great charm, such as its proximity to famed landmarks, but I encourage you to try it and find out for yourself. Thank you, Manila Hotel, for your most welcoming accommodation! I look forward to my next stay.

I booked this hotel for a family trip, and we were pleasantly surprised. The family suite was roomy enough for four of us, with comfortable beds and plenty of storage space. Housekeeping did a great job of keeping everything spotless. The kids loved the swimming pool, and the lifeguard on duty gave us extra peace of mind. Breakfast was plentiful, though a bit crowded during peak hours. All in all, a great mid-range option that balances comfort and price very well.

Ok, if you really wish to know, here goes1. We like staying at the hotel to get “ that old Philippine feel “ the hotel is a cultural experience. I tell my grandkids how grand the hotel, hosting important foreign Presidents and dignitaries. To us this hotel continuous to remain grand. 2. Services are excellent, except at the lobby dining area, where one have to chase down somebody to get the menu, then tell them “ we are ready to order” this did happened on the two separate occasions that we stayed at Manila Hotel. We observed that some other guests had to do the same too. 3. Breakfast is huge, with multiple choices, gastronomically rewarding breakfast experience 4. We always enjoy the view of the bay and sunsets from our room. 5. We always enjoy restful sleep, rooms are spacious, comfortable, very clean.

My wife and I stayed here and it was great all around. The staff is attentive, the rooms were still comfy even after this hotel being on the more older / historic side. Only thing I would say is, its a bit far from BGC but stand alone, breakfast and room service food was great.

Rooms are spacious, clean, and homey. The view from the 5th floor is also nice. The hotel itself is large, you can get lost. It has a very titanic-y lobby but crowded with people due to a lot of events being held at the hotel. Service is also good, not the lobby restaurant tho. We were seated for 20mins but no one approached us to take our orders since everyone was busy. So we missed the afternoon tea. Breakfast is also fine, not as much compared to other 5-star hotels but good enough. Amenities, not so much - instant coffee (could have atleast a drip coffee if espresso machine is expensive), no stock in the fridge. Was not able to use the pool since it was also crowded. Overall stay was good. Hotel is recommended.

I recently had the pleasure of spending one night at The Manila Hotel, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and impeccable service. The lobby was stunning, featuring elegant chandeliers and a rich historical ambiance — one that truly captures the heritage and charm the hotel is known for. The room was spotless, spacious, and beautifully decorated, blending classic Filipino design with modern comforts. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I loved waking up to the serene view of Manila Bay. Dinner at Café Ilang-Ilang was another highlight. The buffet offered a wide selection of international cuisine, and everything I tried was delicious, especially the fresh seafood and Filipino dishes. The staff at the restaurant were attentive and courteous, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable.
