The Manor Basket Range

Mutton dressed as lamb. It’s a beautiful grounds but the rooms are tiny and unmaintained. You are greeted by a small room with a paltry smattering of nibbles (counted a breakfast) and a nearly vertical spiral staircase with no railing to your bedroom upstairs and ensuite which emanates the delightful stench of sewage. If you are over 50 dont even bother, the stairs may kill you. If you want the convenience of a fridge (comes with a broken freezer compartment to boot) without a vertical ladder climb look elsewhere. The air con squeals like a stuck pig so can’t be turned on, yet none of the windows have fly screens, so good luck getting any fresh air with it being swamped by bugs. The curtains are paper thin and offer no privacy so let in both the car park lights and the early morning sun. The balconies are shared and accessible to other rooms (no of course there are no keys for these doors you just have to leave them unlocked because that’s logical!) so you’d hope you have good neighbouring guests. The ‘kitchenette’ means a room with a sink in it, don't be fooled. Only stayed one night and glad to be gone. Didn't see a single staff member the entire stay so not sure what they’re doing, it’s definitely not maintenance. If you’re looking for a couples retreat look elsewhere. Apart from the beautiful grounds, this really feels closer to a 2-3 star drive in motel.

10/10. We are from Adelaide and are busy parents who rarely get any quality time together. This was a peaceful, beautiful place with the added bonus of staying at a castle and feeling like a queen!!! The spa was amazing! I seek out rooms with spas because I am so tall, I rarely get to have a bath any other time! It did not disappoint, it was clean and didnt take 3 hours to fill! The breakfast, coffee and tea provisions were very good quality and such a nice touch! The process to check in was easy and to be honest it was refreshing not to have to speak to anyone after a very overstimulating year and christmas! If you dont like soft pillows bring your own, however this was not a huge issue as we only stayed 1 night. We loved it and would stay again in a heartbeat.

Where do I start? This magical and beautiful setting is the most amazing place to get married at. From its incredible gardens, picturesque back drops and spacious reception rooms, we could not have been happier. Adding on beautiful accomodation with a spa bath and friendly staff you can’t go wrong. We had Ruby looking after our wedding party on the night and she was fantastic and attentive. Adrienne, our wedding coordinator was incredible. Her easy going, kind nature, organisation, attention to detail and passion for her job is obvious and instantly puts you at ease. I had complete faith and trust in her and she did an amazing job.

The Manor was absolutely amazing. Their service was so friendly and extremely professional. The grounds are kept pristine, the rooms are nice, spacious and very clean and tidy. The Ballroom was the perfect function for our reception. The food was delicious and also very high quality. We were very happy there and extremely grateful for the amazing staff and their efforts to keep everyone happy.

The Manor is a beautiful old castle nestled neatly in the Adelaide Hills. It was such a pleasure to witness our friends wedding in such a majestic location. From the old stone work, to the manicured gardens. The whole place is like something out of a fairy tale. The rooms are lovely, with stained-glass windows featuring throughout. The amenities are clean and well presented. It was an honour to spend a night in such a well presented place. The staff at the reception were attentive and friendly. Quick to bring drinks, serve food and help in anyway needed.

We stayed at The Manor Basket Range for a weekend getaway and honestly, it was magic. The place looks straight out of a fairytale - old stone walls, beautiful gardens, and that peaceful Adelaide Hills vibe that just makes you instantly relax.||||Our room was two-storey with a little spiral staircase, comfy bed, and a huge bathroom with a spa bath (which was the best surprise after a long day wine tasting). Everything was clean, cosy, and had heaps of character — not your average hotel room at all.||||The staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. Breakfast was simple but perfect - fresh pastries, fruit, and coffee enjoyed outside with birds everywhere. You could honestly just sit there for hours.||||It’s close to some great wineries and restaurants too, but we ended up just wanting to stay at the Manor because it’s that peaceful. It’s the kind of place that makes you slow down and just enjoy being there.||||Can’t wait to come back — next time we’re staying longer!

Had an outstanding stay at the Manor. The room had beautiful windows and a lovely view, and the hosts were kind and thoughtful enough to provide a Gluten Free breakfast which we appreciated so very much. Will absolutely be back for another weekend getaway.

A beautiful location to stay for the night. Great heating and beautiful bathroom and bedroom. Great value for money and good quality breakfast supplies. The only thing to note is the very skinny spiral stairs in the rooms in which our luggage couldn't fit up the stairs and may be difficult for more elderly / less abled people while this is listed on their website just thought it was something to keep in mind. Can definitely see the appeal for a wedding as it's absolutely gorgeous! Staff were kind and accommodating.
