The Mansion Resort Hotel & Spa

This is one of the best hotels we ever stayed at. The hotel grounds are spacious and spectacular, every natural and cultural beauty you would like to find in a Balinese hotel. Great, efficient, attentive and non-obtrusive staff. Wonderful full hot and cold breakfast every morning. Six different swimming pools. Very quiet grounds, lots of privacy. Very good restaurant.

This resort is so beautiful and the staff was so incredibly nice and accommodating! I stayed in a stand alone villa as well as a suite and both were amazing. Bring a noise machine to help drown out the gecko's and frogs that sometime like to chatter at night! Massage service was great, the breakfast buffet and lunch/dinner options were delicious. There can sometimes be yoga or retreats occurring with the use of a PA system starting around 7:30 am and currently they hosted a large Halloween event that my friend said was full of loud kids by her room, closer to the center, but I didn't experience any issues from my room on the outer edge. I highly recommend this resort!

We visited the hotel a week ago. It is a very nice hotel and our room which was the private pool villa offered us a unique experience. The bathroom was outdoors and was clean, given that there were some insects. The pool had a 24 hours cleaning machine and the stuff was there to remove the flowers any time we wanted. The spa area was in total tranquility and we did enjoy the reflexology massage.

We reached the resort with lot of expectations but they were a big let down. We did not even get the room which we booked two months back for our anniversary. Staffs were not helpful they provided us some ghost house. Though it was very big room but was not maintained well. Toilet was not clean. Pool surroundings were full of grasses. No privacy. Not clean pool sitting area. Some staffs were good but others were very unresponsive and they were paying attention to only white people(which is a racist behavior). I would never go back there and would never recommend to anyone. Also the breakfast had no much options. Everyday same menu with less choices. The staffs won't even attend us during breakfast. I am very disappointed with the stay and am very sad about why did we have to choose this resort for our anniversary. So guys never go there.

A Visit to The Mansion, Ubud: Where Grey Gardens Meets Vacation Horror Staying at The Mansion in Ubud was like stepping into a time capsule — but not the charming kind. Think of Big Edie and Little Edie from Grey Gardens hosting a tropical retreat, and you’ll begin to understand the vibe. Dirty dishes and garbage littered common areas, left untouched for days, creating an atmosphere of neglect that was hard to ignore. This place might once have had its glory days, but now it seems content to revel in dilapidation and neglect. Our first room had issues one might expect in an abandoned mansion, not a functioning resort. The bathroom walls were leaking, making us wonder if mold was lurking just out of sight. When we asked the staff to address this, our concerns were met with indifference. After a second leak incident, the hotel’s “solution” was to move us to an alternative room, which, to our horror, was filthy. Stained bedsheets, insect carcasses, and the unsettling remnants of past guests seemed to cover every surface. What made it even worse? No one from the hotel assisted with moving our luggage. We were left lugging our belongings through the swampy canal access paths ourselves, as if the staff were ghosts in this haunted mansion, unseen and uncaring. In short, The Mansion offers none of the luxury or service it promises. Instead, expect an experience more suitable for eccentric relatives of the past who are content to live amid decay. Avoid at all costs.

The Mansion Resort was our first stop on our trip to Bali. It was a relatively long commute given Bali traffic 🤯 but once there, that was quickly forgotten. We thoroughly enjoyed our five nights staying in a two bedroom pool villa - perfect for our travelling family of 4. Rooms were clean and spacious and nothing was too much trouble for staff. The grounds are beautiful - so much colour and serenity and the abundance of pools thrilled our two boys aged 8 and 12. The included breakfast was a bit lean in terms of options - the boys enjoyed the homemade ‘chocolate jam’ - but the variety of food and drinks generally was wonderful. It did feel more like a yoga resort than a hotel “proper” but that was perfect to immerse ourselves in Balinese culture. We independently booked (though I believe the resort can facilitate) a day trip to see rice terraces, temples, waterfall, coffee plantation, and monkey forest. The Mansion resort was the perfect base and staff were so friendly and helpful, organising cars etc. Would recommend.

I rated this hotel 3 stars mainly because everything shuts down by 11pm. After checking in just after 11pm, we couldn’t get room service or even an ice bucket from reception. Any requests after that time were simply met with “no.” While the rooms were spacious and clean, breakfast was basic with limited options. The best solution was using the Grab app for transportation and food. I hope the hotel improves its after 11pm services, at least for the essentials.
