Possibly one of the best bookshops in the country! I keep coming back and finding it almost impossible to leave without purchasing a book (or two, or three…). Particular highlights are the excellent selection of LGBT themed books, travel and nature books, and the poetry selection. The fiction section is not the largest but so well curated that you are guaranteed to find something of interest. And if you don’t, the bookseller is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! Definitely one of my favourite places in Margate.

Cosy, comfortable, welcoming, friendly...I'm out of adjectives. Not the widest selection...but it's an independent, what do you want? Also serves tea, coffee etc so you can sit outside and read your new book with a drink.

Excellent bookshop. There is a very well curated selection of books laid out on the central table. I normally spend ages trying to pick a book I like, but here it was easy.

Visited Margate for the first time yesterday. The bookshop looked beautiful in the quaint old town area - but on approaching, saw a large poster in the window advertising the plight of palestinians and 'standing firm', seemingly with Hamas. I was so put off by such blatent political extremism, I decided I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. I appreciate it may have been one of the pressure groups providing such a poster, but to agree to put such a thing right in their window made me feel this would be a politically controlled place. very disappointing.

Very well done bookstore, lots of selection and a good range including a very diverse range of modern fiction. Classics and children's sections amongst many others. Also a really nice chair to lounge in. Very colourful and nicely set out. They have a donation scheme and also a small selection of second hand books.

As my friends and family can confirm, I have a slight obsession for bookshops and of course I never skip a chance of visiting local ones when I am travelling. The Margate Bookshop conquered me with its rocking chairs, piles of books everywhere (literally!), and cozy atmosphere. You can even ask for tea or coffee, if you fancy a cup. The owner is a very nice lady, we chatted a bit and she advised me on what books to buy for my niece. I finally purchased two. I could have spent hours just scrolling through pages, which I admittedly almost did :) If I ever visit Margate again, I will make sure to stop by!

I love this bookshop. It has all great staff, ambience, location. But the standout is the superb curation. It's a delight of discovery. It covers the big famous stuff side by side with related but unexpected jewels. Absolutely superb.

I think the staff member working today was maybe some type of wizard who blessed our house search. Lovely atmosphere and friendly people! And good books!! Felt very welcome and at home :)
