What It’s Like On Board Evrima, The Ritz-Carlton's First Ship

"I was drinking iced tea at the Marina, an indoor-outdoor venue hovering about 10 feet above the water on Evrima’s third deck, where stairs lead down to a platform for diving straight into the sea and sun loungers line a space the crew calls “the beach”; when the ship is at anchor the Marina unfolds with floating platforms and water toys like paddleboards, sailboats, kayaks, and snorkeling gear, making it a true on-deck seaside hangout." - Maya Kachroo-Levine Maya Kachroo-Levine Maya Kachroo-Levine is the digital senior editor at Travel + Leisure. No wait, beautiful day to sit on the patio. Food came quickly, nothing tasted bad, though I wouldn't say anything stuck out for how well it was cooked either. We enjoyed it all though! Server was polite and prompt. Cocktails were fine. Worth coming here, especially if you like outdoor seating, very peaceful.

Google
My friends and I were traveling through New England and stoped here for lunch. First we were greeted by Kate, who was warm and welcoming!😊 Then we asked for a table with a view and she took us upstairs! There we were greeted by Maddi who was our sever. She was friendly, greeted us promptly and gave us a rundown of the specials! We ordered and the food came quickly and it was delicious!! Everything we ate exceeded our expectations and it filled us up. So if you are passing through Brattleboro and need a great meal with a great atmosphere go there!! Highly recommend!

Google
This is a nice place on the water. It is huge. We sat outside overlooking the Connecticut River. There are a lot of windows also overlooking the water from the inside. The food was good, we were there for lunch. The wait staff was very nice and attentive. We found it on our little road trip we will probably go out that way in the future and will try it again.

Brittney G.

Google
Everything we ordered was delicious. The limited time warm Lobster roll was full of lobster. The smoked trout crostini was a great size shareable. The drinks were nice and strong and the server was friendly. I wish I remember her name but she was a bit older.

Holly B.

Google
I only had picture of my salad because whole family dove right in and we forgot to take pics of meals! All delicious!! Beautiful view - we chose to sit outside. It's a bit of a wait between ordering and when food arrives, but they warned us of that ahead of time as we arrived at hostess stand.

Nancy M.

Google
What a beautiful place! The view was absolutely stunning, good scrumptious and our waitress pleasant as can be! We definitely will be going back again and again!

Google
This was my third time visiting this restaurant. The first time was amazing — the clam chowder was so delicious that it made me want to come back the following year. Unfortunately, when I returned last year, the clam chowder was awful, and even the glasses weren’t clean. This year, I decided to give it another chance and went with my parents. I’m glad I did! The food was wonderful, everything was spotless — the glasses and plates were very clean — and the waitress was fantastic

Google
I stopped for lunch on a Friday in May, got there as soon as they opened. Not too busy, lots of parking in front. Gorgeous views. I got the buffalo chicken wrap that was on special. Fast service. Staff attentive and kind. It was my first visit to Vermont and I was very glad it was someplace like here.

Yelp
This place is fabulous. The interior of the restaurant is bright and beautiful with charming decor. They also have lots of outside seating, which is of course where you want to be because you're right on the water. The cocktails were wonderful, particularly the lovely purple Bee's Knees. They also have equally delicious mocktails for non-drinkers. The food is fresh and flavorful. I had the Twin Shrimp Burgers and secretly wished it was quadruplets because they were so good. I love that they have specials, which on the day we went was a Buffalo Chicken Wrap. The special was delicious as well, with a nicely grilled tortilla and no shortage of spicy sauce. Desserts were huge, we ordered tiramisu and an ice cream sandwich. They had a couple different combos of ice cream and cookie which was awesome. We went with cookies and cream and it did not disappoint. Only thing I would say is the parking there is a bit of a mess, and I could see how this could be a problem on really busy days. Food could have come out a tiny bit faster as well. I was on my second drink before the food arrived, but those little things won't stop me from returning. Love it!

Yelp
First the good. Always clean with one of the best water views around. Good selection of draft ipas. We were there in April and this was our second visit since the new owners took over. My wife misses the veg burger but she enjoyed her grilled veg sandwich. The french fries were over-cooked, hard and tough to chew. I miss the old fish and chips that were served here. This was the second and last time that I will be ordering the new version. It was over-fried, dry and not worth the high $27 for haddock and the portion. Sweet potato fries were decent. I order fish and chips whenever I go out. I don't make it at home. This one is on the top five of my list for disappointing and pricey. We will probably return this fall but reconsider the menu. We will go for the view, the beer and who knows what we will be ordering.

Yelp
Asked the waiter if there was Shrimp in the clam chowder. I have an allergy. He came back saying just assume yes. I ask can you ask the chef please? He said they were too busy-- it was not a busy time or full, contrary to the response below. I spoke to the manager who came out and said there IS shellfish in the stock. Well no kidding. I am not allergic to clams. Only shrimp. They refused to get a proper answer and rather have us leave. She said they didn't want to bother the cooks because they were having trouble with them. The menu is very limited. Don't bother if you have any allergies and need any real answers. Horrible. No excuse. Response should have been- so sorry, not a defensive stance.

Yelp
We split the Father's Day special: prime rib was perfectly done, and the asparagus was perfect. We had carrot cake for dessert. Our waitress was excellent. We ate outside on the patio overlooking the river

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
Amazing!!!!!!!!! Service, atmosphere and food so yummy. I watched the plates as they went by. Now this place has it going on. The server we had was lovely. My dear friend came out Harrison to greet me. I was so happy to have gone out to eat and can't wait to go back!!! Well done Chef and Team!!!

Kristi N.

Yelp
Still missing the mark. Luke warm curry with a random French fry AND a random noodle in the rice dish I had.
google avatar

Rosemary S.

Yelp
Beautiful spot on the water with an expansive view of the river. It wasn't warm enough for the patio yet but I would come back for that. Lots of natural light, rustic canoe elements and hanging plants create a cozy but not overly cluttered aesthetic. The menu had pub favorites as well as some lighter options. Good value for the portion size. Staff was very friendly and service quick.
google avatar

John Z.

Yelp
Service is very slow. I had the fried oyster special tonight. Not good at all. Prices are higher than they should be. Sat at the bar waiting for our table. $19 for a beer and a martini. This restaurant is understaffed
google avatar

Jason A.

Yelp
The food was very delicious. The steak tips had a hint of maple . The service was excellent. Even though they were busy . The Ambiance was absolutely stunning. The dinning room was amazing. The view of the river and other natural beauty.
google avatar

Mary J.

Yelp
We stopped for lunch and the service was prompt and friendly. The burgers were cooked right and generous. The turkey sandwich was huge. It was lovely to look at the river.

Yelp
Haven't been to The Marina in a while. Used to be a great brunch location on the weekend. Sadly no brunch anymore. Had dinner other night precipitated by a coupon for $50 purchased for $25. Feel like Moroccan stew was just OK. Fish n chips pretty good. Shrimp basket acceptable. Unfortunately food takes 3rd to 2nd place vibe of the restaurant and bar and 1st place the setting overlooking the Retreat Meadows.
google avatar

Emily R.

Yelp
This warm and delicious lunch was the perfect compliment to the beautiful, crisp, fall VT day! She was our sever and she was very sweet and provided efficient service. We started with the mussels, which came with crusty bread in a wonderful white wine sauce. TIP! Order an extra bit of bread, you'll want it to sop up the delicious broth. My husband had the VT burger with fries and I had the Moroccan Stew! The burger was delicious but the complexity of the stews flavor profile makes me want to hurry up and enjoy the leftovers! It is a bit on the sweet side of savory so take that into consideration. Overall a wonderful time! We will be back.

Yelp
We came to Vemont to complete our fifty state excursion and decided to have lunch at this lovely restaurant on Easter Sunday. There was no wait at 11:30 am so we got a nice table overlooking the water. Our server quickly came over and took our drink and food orders. They had a special menu for Easter. It included prime rib, maple glazed ham, baked haddock and crab stuffed shrimp. I opted for the maple glazed ham with garlic mashed potatoes and corn. My husband had the baked haddock, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Both meals were delicious and plentiful. We were too full for dessert, but I'm sure they were also good. The restaurant has plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating and is decorated with big colorful artwork. An overall very pleasant atmosphere.

Chris D.

Yelp
A gem where the West River meets the Connecticut River in Brattleboro. The menu is terrific and the food is prepared deliciously and with style. I've mostly sampled The Marina's outstanding chowders and sandwiches as I make it a lunch stop on my drive to the northern Vt. The service is excellent, the place is clean and it has great views from indoor or outdoor seating.

Yelp
First time to eat at this great riverside restaurant. The setting is beautiful and the building adds the ambiance. The food was delicious, many appealing choices on the menu. I had the muscles which was a huge serving, plenty for a main course. The sauce was the best I've ever had. The waitress was friendly and did an excellent job.

Lina O.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and service. However, our food wasn't what we had hoped or expected. No complaints on the Marina Garden Salad, but the salmon was previously frozen and wasn't seasoned with much at all. The potatoes and carrots were just ok. The Braised Short Rib was not good at all!!! We will go back, but only sit at the bar and have a cocktail.

Yelp
We visited the newly re-opened Marina last night, March 7, 2025. We were regular customers at the former Marina restaurant but had been disappointed to see the quality of the food deteriorate so badly in the last couple years. We were really looking forward to the re-opening under new management in the hope that both the food and the menu would improve. We were very disappointed to find both menu and food worse than ever - and much more expensive. The wine choices were meagre and the one we chose was awful, very disappointing at $10.00 a glass. Likewise, the food choices left much to be desired. The tacos were some sort of soft tacos in what was more like a poor quality roll than a taco. The filling of mushrooms and cold slaw was peculiar to say the least. But worst of all were the fried clams: some sort of previously frozen mixture which obviously no clam had ever visited. No seafood taste at all. All of us are new Englanders and have lived part of our lives on the coast. We know what a fried clam, a local delicacy for us, is supposed to taste like. These fried dough things were not it! But finally we ordered dessert and coffee. After all, what could the Marina do to coffee and a simple dessert? When the waiter came over with the coffee, we couldn't believe it. A half cup of coffee in a big, heavy, cold cup. The coffee itself was atrocious, lukewarm and bitter! Probably the worst cup of coffee we had ever had. The dessert was good, the best dish of the evening. The only problem was that the portion was so tiny that it was too small for one person, let alone two. We had always shared dessert at the former Marina. In the new incarnation It had shrunk surprisingly and cost more. We can't believe that you cannot serve better food and still make a profit. My friends who have tried the newly opened Marina are saying they will never go back. But formerly, even with the so so food, the view and the dedicated wait staff brought us back. Now, if the food (which is much worse that so so ) and drink don't improve, even the lovely view and the kindly waiters won't be enough - unless you let us bring our own wine and food and simply pay you, say, $20.00 for the view. I really hope that you can improve things at what used to be one of our favorite dining places. And we wish you the best in your efforts to do better. We will keep checking with our friends in the hope that we can come back eventually. In the meantime, we are sorry to have to give you such a poor review. It is not malice that prompted my email but disappointment and the hope that you can do better. Sincerely, Pat LePage

Yelp
yummy food and nice spot i got the maple bourbon steak tips they were good and i liked the appetizers

Bryan F.

Yelp
New ownership. Waited 40 minutes for our food to arrive. When it did, the fries were edible, the coleslaw was not and the brisket was bland. I used to love this place. Don't waste your time and money here. Sue, the waitress however, was excellent.
google avatar

Yelp
We were visiting nearby and wanted to stop here for lunch. The restaurant is rather large with several areas to dine at. They have a full bar area with several high tops to dine at, and at least 3 different dining areas. We were lucky enough to get a table with a water view. For starters, I had the lobster bisque which tasted really good but personally I like my bisque more on the thicker side and this one was not so, in addition I also found it lacking in lobster. My girlfriend had the spinach, artichoke dip and she definitely enjoyed it. For our lunch I had the Moroccan stew which was a vegetarian dish made up of butternut squash, peppers, onions, garlic, chickpea and corn. My girlfriend had the spinach and artichoke dip served with chips. She enjoyed the dip, it was tasty. She had the fish and chips which seemed to be made fresh. They tasted so good. For dessert we had the peach and berry pie which was really good, not overly sweet.

Yelp
What are cute place to have a wonderful lunch at a beautiful setting. As we left the restaurant, we saw an apartment building next to restaurant - I said to my wife, "if I lived in that building, I think I'd be eating at the Marina everyday!" On the day of our visit, we started by taking some pictures right at the waterfront edge - we got some beautiful photos, and even saw a few people out kayaking on the water. Once we sat down, our waiter Adam quickly approached and offered drinks and a few specials for the holiday. We had the ham and haddock entrees, both of which were tasty and accompanied by vegetables and mashed potatoes. The entire meal including drinks, tip and tax still averaged less than $30 per person which is a value for all that was delivered. This restaurant is about a mile from the downtown Brattleboro area, but well worth a small trip for a beautiful view, great service, and wonderful food.

Yelp
Drinks were good, food not so good staff was good, and great view from the deck. Not really dinner destination but for drink it's fine

Yelp
We had a fantastic time at this restaurant! The food was great, the views amazing, and the service was also good! Our waitress Sue was personable and attentive, and she gave us good suggestions on what to do while we were in town! I got the Marina Mac n Cheese which was so good, and the cheese is made locally. You can even see the place the cheese was made across the river, talk about fresh! My fiancé added pulled pork to his Mac n Cheese and was also very happy with his meal. If you are in town, I highly recommend stopping in, you won't regret it!
google avatar

Yelp
Good food, lovely views, pleasant staff, and easy on/off I-91. I will definitely be returning!

Lori F.

Yelp
I went to the Mother's Day brunch and it was underwhelming for sure. For $23 I expected an omelet or waffle station or perhaps some fresh cut ham. They had none of this. The bacon was overcooked/burnt, the home fries were soft and mushy and the watermelon tasted like onions. I also found 2 hairs in my food. I generously give this 2 stars because the staff was pleasant, accommodating and efficient. It was a $100 that I would rather have spent on McDonald's and perhaps another gift. Disappointing.

John A.

Yelp
Stopped here for lunch with family! Glad we made the trek here. Visiting from Florida, but visiting family in NH. Fish & chips were perfect!
google avatar

Linda T.

Yelp
Ordered mussels. They were dry and seemed liked no garlic at all. Won't eat here again!!
google avatar

Yelp
Food is usually good. Great view of the river. The staff is touch and go, we've had fantastic service and terrible service here.
google avatar

Yelp
The Marina is an eclectic, vibrant & spacious restaurant! My husband & I were looking for somewhere for lunch for our 1st day of our honeymoon & stumbled across The Marina using the Yelp app. We are so glad that we did! The menu is limited, but the portions are large. For example, the Shrimp Basket is part of the "Soups & Starters" though it could be a meal! It comes with crispy fried shrimp & tasty French fries. My husband had the Beef & Beans Chili, which he said was one of the best ones he has ever had! It was loaded with large chunks of beef & brought a decent amount of heat. I had the Lobster Bisque, which I found to be smooth & buttery! Note that it doesn't have any chunks of lobster. The service was prompt; they weren't all that busy, but the gentleman that also works the bar was attentive & super friendly! They offer a selection of beer on tap, wine & cocktails. I had the "Tickle My Fancy" which I will start making at home with its simple ingredients. We had a 2-top high table right by the large windows facing the Connecticut River. It was such a beautiful view to enjoy with lunch!

Ann Marie T.

Yelp
Went on a day trip to Vermont 5/16/24. Driver and tour guide were very professional. The lunch at the Marina Restaurant was terrible. The following are my concerns: 1. only 2 servers to take care of a bus load of people 2. entrees were not served at the same time so that the ones who chose fish were thru eating by the time the beef choice was served. Also, the fish had no flavor and it was cold. 3. we were served salad and desert on paper plates 4. the servers were no where to be found unless they were serving or cleaning up so you couldn't request more water or a second drink. I hope Friendship Tours will chose a different restaurant for their next trip to Vermont.

Janet B.

Yelp
The new owners have gone out of their way make the atmosphere and new menu outstanding. I had crab cakes as an appetizer and they are made from scratch in-house. They were loaded with crab, no filler, and would rival any seafood restaurant in Maryland where I have eaten many times. The quality of the food seems very high, very fresh, and choices on the menu are new and refreshing to see. I heard many fellow diners comment on how good their meals were, as well as great presentation. I read on other reviews that staff was helpful and friendly, and I would totally agree. The wait time for the food might be longer than some would like, but this is not a fast food restaurant. Everything is cooked and prepared fresh and is worth the wait if you want to eat good food. It was a pleasure to not be served food that was prepared elsewhere and warmed a microwave. Give this place a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Amanda S.

Yelp
Has nothing to do with the food or service.. it's all about their values.. no segregation needed these days... and if management has changed since then.. well I'm sorry your dealing with the aftermath

Debbie S.

Yelp
The food was ok but overpriced. The worst thing was it took forever for me to get my check then 30 minutes to get my credit card back,
google avatar

Felicia S.

Yelp
5 stars for how well they're prepared for social distancing & for the atmosphere / view outside. 3 stars for the food. My son's salmon burger was meh....as was most of the food we had (except the yummy sweet potatoes fries) but this doesn't seem like a place you go to for a special, particularly yummy meal....more so for the view and for the way they protect their customers & staff. Kudos! I'll be back. This is the first time I dared to eat at a restaurant since March / the initial pandemic outbreak. Usually my family and I eat out at least once a week. The staff was well prepared and had customers fill out a contact tracing card upon arrival. Much appreciated!!

Bengu S.

Yelp
We called the restaurant before we went and asked them if we can bring our dog.. they said yes. When I told the gentleman who greeted us we are 2 people and a dog. He questioned me not very nice way if my dog is a service dog / what kind of service dog / does she wear service dog hernese, etc. I said I called in advance and person told me I could bring my dog. Then he got very angry and said why didn't me tell this before? Thankfully he left and very lovely lady took us to a beautiful spot with our dog and served us very pleasantly. Food was good as well as service.

Mike J.

Yelp
Great spot on the water. Food was good and service . We will definitely be back when in the area.

Nadine R.

Yelp
Amazing ShrimpSkewers served here! My favorite starter at the Marina. Beautifully seasoned and tender, not over cooked as happens too often at other restaurants. Great hamburgers and fries also. The restaurant sits over the West River with a lovely view beyond. Large place with plenty of seating. Very nice outdoor seating with heaters also. Great service, too.
google avatar

Erin B.

Yelp
Dropped by for a quick bite as we were going through town. Good food, good prices, good service. I enjoyed my VT cheddar burger and my husband the fish and chips. Both indoor and outdoor seating.

Juan Jose B.

Yelp
The service was espectacular, the food was delicious, and the restaurant environment was incredible.
google avatar

Mindy C.

Yelp
The waiter was great! Of course you can't beat the view, especially outside. The nacho starter was delicious. However, our entrees were really bad. The blueberry and strawberries in my salad (an entree on the specials menu) were not good, the tasted unripe and sour. Not sweet at all. The stuffed shrimp we ordered was mostly breadcrumbs, almost no crab in them and tasted previously frozen. I'm sorry to say this was not a pleasurable experience.
google avatar

Luisa H.

Yelp
Good food - great staff - awesome views Would highly recommend for table for 2 or group dinner

Danielle S.

Yelp
Our server was horrible and rude. Kept saying about how much work he has to do. I didn't ask? Unprofessional to make your guest feel guilty.
google avatar

Katherine A.

Yelp
This is a popular restaurant on the Connecticut River in Brattleboro, Vermont. You can get great seating outdoors or indoors with fantastic views of the river and sunsets. There is a small marina adjacent the the restaurant where you can watch the boats. The menu is diverse specializing in seafood with halibut a featured fish. The prices are mid range with sandwiches starting in the $14 range and fish meal in the $22-higher range. We brought my aunt here for her birthday. They feature a number of drink specials which are delicious. I had the broiled scallops with green beans and broiled potatoes. My scallops were absolutely delicious with a lemony garlic broth. My husband had the fish and chips. The fried halibut was enormous. The food is excellent. The service was a bit disappointing. Our server was friendly enough but forgot to put in our appetizer order. After we asked he brought it out with our meal but comped us for it so I can't complain too much. He failed to check on us and we waited for things way too long. They seemed understaffed for the Thursday night crowd. I'd go back. The food and the view are special that you shouldn't miss.
google avatar

Barbara D.

Yelp
Great views. Had the Mac and cheese and hubby had the cheeseburger. Both were well cooked and tasty. Not far from I91 as we headed to VT.

Peterson G.

Yelp
Food is hit or miss and usually "miss. One of the long term cooks only knows how to make shrimp Alfredo, work the fryer, pour salad from a bag, and ladle pre-fab soup--meaning, this place lacks creativity or real food.
google avatar

Christina A.

Yelp
We had a good experience at The Marina in Brattleboro. It was a beautiful day outside and we sat on the deck by the river. It's a great spot for casual fare and good cocktails. We got the bacon cheeseburger with fries and the Bees Knees cocktail. Everything came out quickly. Don't expect anything super fancy, but a great place to stop for lunch and sit outdoors. They also have a good amount of parking. Would definitely go back.
google avatar

Charles V.

Yelp
I think that Zac is the cutest waiter at the Marina. He wears pink shorts and has a great haircut.

Os C.

Yelp
Being old-school Brattleboro, I prefer old-school Marina with the back deck for smoking. LOL Mine and TImothy's favorite are no longer on the menu and that saddens me.
google avatar

Petra E.

Yelp
Great food, great service, great view! This was out first visit and we had the Bison Burger with sweet potato fries and the Roasted Beet & Butternut Squash Salad (off the specials menu. Both were fabulous and paired with a waterfront view and glass of wine it couldn't have been better. A big plus for us was that we finally got to use our vax cards as required here!
