We went to celebrate my 70th birthday, and boy, we weren't disappointed! We loved the room (No.2) with the mezzanine bedroom and the harbour views! Tastefully decorated, with a pair of matching sofas, tea & coffee facilities and a great wet room with dual shower. The bed was very comfortable and large enough for our ageing bones!|Breakfast (which was included in our tariff) was served at the sister restaurant, The Moon and Sixpence, 20m along the front. There's a varied menu available but we opted for a standard English breakfast, which was served hot and was of a high quality. Plenty of scrambled eggs, and two fried eggs for my wife, the hash browns were not the bog standard triangular hotel fare, rather they were cuboid, moist and tasteful. Plenty of bacon, sausage, tomatoes and beans, plus seemingly no limits to coffee top-ups as well.|First night, we ate at the Moon and Sixpence. Started with two superb cocktails, the like of which I've never had before. (I may have led a sheltered life, but they were ace!) A reasonable choice of food for a small establishment, but very well cooked, and served hot by lovely staff. A fair priced wine list too!|Second night we ate at The hotel itself, which offered a slightly more sophisticated menu, for a discerning palate, including plenty of fish options and a reasonably priced wine list. The scollops were perfect, and to be recommended.|All in all I couldn't fault the place. The staff were friendly and helpful, you get a parking permit as part of your tariff (street parking, but there is a loading point opposite which one can use) and checking out a breeze ("Just leave your keys on the desk when you leave!")|Treat yourself! We did, and don't regret a thing!
