The Marker Harbor Resort

"Why book? Two acres of tropical gardens. Three pools. A harborfront location with a breezy, laidback vibe yet still close to the action. Need we say more? Set the scene There is just something about The Marker that puts you in a good mood. It’s lively but not raucous. Luxurious, but not stuffy. Cool, but not so hip that it hurts. It’s just right. The backstory The Marker is named for Key West’s famous Mile Marker 0, and that “leave your troubles behind” mentality permeates the place. When it opened in 2014, it was the first newly built hotel in Key West in more than 20 years. Eight years later, it still feels fresh. The rooms The 96 rooms and suites are the very picture of contemporary coastal chic, with clean lines and carpets echoing the waves just outside the oversized windows. Natural light floods these rooms, while bright pops of color in the pillows and artwork lend a sense of place without reading cliché tropical. Food and drink Starboard Restaurant & Bar features all-day dining. The menu is somewhat limited but covers the basics, but the cocktails are especially enticing (who doesn’t want a Key West Spritzer with a view of the harbor?) The neighborhood/area The location is terrific. It’s steps away from the food and fun of Old Town and just three blocks from the action of Duval Street. The service Friendly and far from formal. Accessibility Yes Anything left to mention? The Marker gives you the best of both worlds—water views and a lush, tropical setting, plus proximity to the excitement of Old Town and Duval Street." - Nancy DePalma

Definitely going back! My husband booked through a 3rd party and didn't even realize it. Internet can be tricky. Worked out fine. It was very close to his fave breakfast place, Harpoon Harry's. I usually don't want breakfast so Cuban Coffee Queen takes care of that, all right nearby the hotel. Schooners Wharf is right in front of us and the sun setting over the boats is beautiful, if you have one of those rooms. Pool area was well maintained and nice, they have dual pools! Nice bar setup, but $29 for a small bloody Mary and one NUTRL was pretty crazy. They also have a made to order breakfast window. I believe there's a restaurant somewhere, but we never looked. Can't wait to go back!

We stayed at the marker for 5 days. The hotel is nice - room was clean and had room service everyday. The pool is nice and always has activities and a daily drink special. The location is the best part of this hotel being right on the marina it was convenient for all our boating activities! the beds/pillows are very comfortable. We were on an end room near the main elevator so we were nervous it would be loud - but it wasn’t at all! The staff were all very nice and always willing to help. Only “complaint” I would have is there are no microwaves in the room or available at all - which kinda sucked when you had leftovers. But it’s a minor inconvenience for the overall experience!

Room clean. Bathroom large and clean. Have walked by The Marker multiple times on other visits and finally decided to stay here. Very conveniently located on the bight! And Bo’s nearby for awesome food a plus! |Arrived early 11:30 am. Check-in is at 4pm. Marker said they would text when room ready. We finally came back at 5:30 because they never texted or called. Each day they sent a text asking what they could do. We responded each day, asking for a couple things (towels, water flow problem, and question about food /drink in room) and NADA from them. No response /our requests completely ignored. | Bar service at pool was good, food food and the small pools were nice as well. Clean pool area. We checked out on 9/29/25 and they drained the pool that morning and were using a concrete drill, busting up various things inside it (I had swam in that pool day before). Stain on carpet in room. No microwave available anywhere in hotel. And room service only available 11a-5p. Very mid. But extremely convenient to Bight, Lazy Way, Caroline st. Etc. 1/2 mile to Duval.

Great location adjacent to the Harbor, very clean & well maintained hotel. Customer Service at the Front Desk was very good. |On our first night the air conditioning in our suite (free upgrade) stopped working & we contacted the Front Desk. Within 5 minutes Yurandy (Front Desk) came to our room, explained a temporary fix to keep our suite cool for the night - 10 minutes later Yurandy & Dylan had our suite cooling down again - great customer service & a great trip - thank-you Yurandy!!

Google
The property is well-maintained, in a great location, and offers excellent in-room air conditioning. The pool bar is spacious and provides outstanding service. However, my experience was ruined by the dishonesty of the housekeeping and maintenance staff. I accidentally left two items in the locked safe after checking out. When I contacted the front desk, they assured me they would handle the matter and mail the items to me. They sent the housekeeping supervisor and a maintenance worker to retrieve them, but later claimed the safe was empty. I am certain the items were inside, and the safe was definitely locked when I left.

Google
The hotel room carpet was disgusting. I had to put towels down just to walk on the floor without shoes just to feel normal. For the rate of the room it most definitely should come with clean shampooed carpet. If the carpet can’t be cleaned regularly pull it up. We ended up checking out the next morning and driving to Miami to finish out our anniversary trip. This was my last time staying at The Marker and this was an annual trip because we got married here 9yrs ago. There was no follow with management about our concerns, so hubs said we’re out of here. Poor management results in poor performance! I was relieved once we checked in at the Palms in Miami so I could reset and enjoy the rest of my vacation. I thank God for my husband who simply cares to fix problems!

Yelp
Going back almost a decade ago, I recall this 2 acre plot of land stood empty and then with the blink of an eye there was a building constructed overlooking the Bight Marina but it wasn't The Marker.... a short time later that building was gone and a whole new complex was constructed... THE MARKER has arrived. I read that this was the first new hotel is over 20 years and you certainly could'nt have picked a better location. Obviously, Key West has a very large number of upscale hotels from high-end to chains to bed & breakfast; but not many can brag about overlooking the active Bight Marina (with exception of the Galleon), and still only 3 blocks from Duval Street. The hotel has the architectural style you'd expect from Key West (conch style with lots of charm). The entrance is excellent with colorful sculptures and front doors (and an oversized adirondack chair in a teal blue). Enter into the front doors and welcome to the gold rail staircase leading to the lobby. The staff in the lobby were friendly and the concierge was very helpful and not pushy. SO FAR, WE ARE IMPRESSED. Once we were assigned our room, we relocated our car to the lower level parking garage. We booked a regular room (didn't bother with the pool or water views)... and to be honest, I was plenty pleased. The was another building behind us from our balcony but there was plenty of landscape and it was relaxing. Despite what I had read in other Yelp reviews (and somewhat concerning), we experienced no deficiencies in our room... very clean, comfortable bed, nice decor and personal touches... and room looked excellent and the bathroom was phenomenal (clean and stylish). STILL IMPRESSED. Outside the buildings are the pool areas... the two main pools right by each other and with a light surrounding of landscaping and some extra amenities like a bar, sunblock station and a stage for entertainment (I assume). The "other" pool is reached by going through the buildings and I found this area to look nicer and the "other" pool is and "adults only" pool. The landscaping here is fuller and very tropical with a nice sitting area and a couple outdoor sculptures (but no drink service, but you can visit the bar and bring them here yourself). The hotels also happens to be "dog friendly"... and they provided a nice little spot for the fur babies to go to the bathroom; complete with artificial turf open area with nice landscaping and a doggie bag pole... But I love the extra touch, a bright red fire hydrant to pee on. I really loved waking up and being only a block away from CUBAN COFFEE QUEEN.... grabbed coffee upon waking up each morning and Pan Cubano and enjoyed it sitting on our room's balcony. My only gripe was requesting a late check-out (only requested one hour), was responded with what seemed like a prepared response they use with all requests, "WE'LL LET YOU KNOW IN THE MORNING THAT YOU LEAVE BECAUSE WE DON'T KNOW HOW MANY ROOM REQUIRE CLEANING". In some hotels I say I understand but our room was not serviced until late afternoon each day. So why would it matter if we left the room at noon instead of 11AM. They even showed up to service our room one day at 5:00PM when we were getting to go out (we had to request they return in 30 minutes. Overall, we loved the style and decor of the hotel, loved the pool and landscaping (so tropical and relaxing), loved the location and loved that mattress.

Yelp
The hotel itself was ok. The staff by the pool and restaurant was amazing however the manger for housekeeping (Katya) was very rude. After we asked for a late check out, since during our 4 night stay, they cleaned our room after 4/5 pm should t be an issue. Checked out literally 10 minutes late because we were waiting in the lobby as another client was having different issues as some of his stuff was missing. I got charged a $50 late fee and additional fees, total of $56.25 Also there were never enough towels by the pool. Unacceptable!!!! Will not be returning.

Yelp
The Marker allows locals to visit their pools (yes, plural), and my friend was privy to this spot during my recent visit to Key West. We stopped by one afternoon to enjoy the DJ set, some tasty drinks from their poolside bar, and of course, the pool itself. Most patrons were very friendly, and at first we weren't able to locate free chairs, until a couple got up and let us know they were leaving, which was really kind of them. We stayed for at least a couple of hours. I ordered a raspberry lemonade frozen drink that was so good and refreshing. We visited in mid-May and the pool temperature felt like bath water to me. Apparently, in the summer they do chill their pool though. I previously didn't know that was a thing being from the Northeast, but that makes sense considering the outside temps. I can't speak to the hotel experience itself, but the pool scene was quite nice.

Yelp
Great location but they REALLY need to invest in pillows. Each visit we are frustrated with the awful pillow options and our backs and necks hurt that entire trip. Rooms are clean and great location but the walls are paper thin and pillows are just a big problem. 3 nights in a row had to listen to the couple in the next room argue then have sex loudly until 2-3am every morning. Walls do not offer any sound control. We stay here for dog friendly and great location but will probably consider an airbnb for future trips.
google avatar

Laura W.

Yelp
Terrible from check in to check out. Insects in bathroom, reported twice. Room needs a full renovation. Dirty carpets, horrible mattress and housekeeping was nonexistent. For the $50 "resort fee " you get use of the pools and pool towels. No welcome drink as advertised. No service for drinks or sun products poolside. Bar area overpriced even for the Keys. No real restaurant. Key bracelets stop working. No bell service for assistance with bags, parking $40 a night. Keep your money, book elsewhere.
google avatar

Bob W.

Yelp
The location is great. I took photos of the items that did not get fixed in our room and a mildewy life ring at the Adult pool. The hospitalty was poor and the "cleaning" was new towels and a remade bed....no vaccuuming. We could have addressed these issues if we had a working phone and not requiring text exchanges. Even the daily complimentary water became an issue. The final straw was not extending check out an hour or two to accomodate our late flight. This is a first for us. The bright spot was Karolina and her Central European charm. At dropping nearly $1k per day here, not a chance of returning.

Alexandra S.

Yelp
I really hope this reaches management. I've been coming here for the last year to hang out by the pool, and I always have the same 2 pools bartenders (Sunday crew) they are absolutely amazing and I love how local friendly they are here! Live music is always amazing too. Your Sunday bar crew is absolutely top tier!

Yelp
This is very squarely a 3 star hotel, not 4. We stayed here around Christmas and it was our first time in Key West. We wanted to have a nicer hotel in a prime location, and while the proximity to everything was perfect, that's about where it ended. Our room was the 'garden view' which just overlooked the pool, which was fine, but the room itself was tired and not well kept up with. The carpet was very badly stained/dirty, the bathroom had cracked tiles, water stains (I guess from leaks) on the ceiling, and clearly some fixtures, like the sink, had been swapped out, leaving stains from where the old fixture was. The room appeared to have endured many seasons of Spring Break... not the vibe we were hoping for in a 4-star hotel with a price tag north of $600/night before resort fees, $40 parking, etc. The cleaning of the rooms was abysmal as others have noted. We would leave the room around 8:30/9am, come back at 5pm to find nobody had come to clean. I ended up finding the cleaning staff in the halls and asking for fresh towels. The front desk staff didn't seem to want to be there, and generally there was no hospitality to be had. I don't need much, but a simple recognition that I exist once in a while would be nice, for my own sanity. To reinforce the lack of soundproofing as noted in other reviews, this is very real. Our neighbors slept with the TV on, which we heard through the walls, and at one point, I heard the neighbor upstairs yacking his guts out. Will be staying at another hotel next time.

Yelp
Just returned from a four day stay at The Marker. Absolutely beautiful hotel in the best location. Short walk Duval, great coffee shop next door and surrounded by a beautiful marina with lots of dining options. The bartender, Rose' was amazing providing lots of great recommendations. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that we never got maid service the entire stay, we had to ask for towels and toilet paper. Would highly recommend despite.

Yelp
SPRING BREAKERS' HOTEL IN KEY WEST Don't let anyone fool you....the college spring breakers are welcomed and catered to at this expensive hotel. We had a nice upgraded room, and the hotel had a great location near Duval and the Marina area. However, the essence of the property is a courtyard of two pools and a bar. There were dozens of college kids, who played loud music and drank from 10 am to 10 pm. To get to the bar, you had to dodge the cornhole bean bags; there was no interrupting their games. The kids were fine, but the rest of us had to fight for the 10 chairs around the one small pool that was not occupied by the students. And to boot, the "grown up" pool's chairs (8 of 20) were reserved early each morning by a local resident who claims to have purchased a "non-hotel guest's day pass." When we complained about the situation, the management told us the hotel was "family friendly" and maybe we would be more suited for an "adult only" hotel. We were told to use the serenity pool (tucked away on the other side of the hotel.) With the crowded students' rooms and mess, they did not "clean" our room until after 5 pm; we asked for towels several times. The rates at this hotel are among the highest in KW (and be prepared for the resort fee at the end). In general, Key West is somewhat exclusive, not beachy, and not a particular mecca for spring breakers. But The Marker seems to court this crowd, so buyer beware.

Aaron S.

Yelp
This is our go too hotel in key west. We have been staying here for the past 3-4 years. Great location and very clean. Pool area is great with the bar right there and love on the weekends with live music. Only bad thing is they charge you alot to park but still not worth of losing a star over!
google avatar

Claire S.

Yelp
Very nice hotel in Key West. The 3 pools are great; the first two are very close together and have live music and an upbeat vibe. They're also close to the bar, where you can order food and drinks. There's no poolside ordering, so you do need to go to the bar to place orders. The bartender is great and makes solid drinks; I also enjoyed the fish dip. The adults only pool is much more serene if you want a quiet place to relax. The room itself was pretty spacious and decorated nicely, and I enjoyed sitting on our balcony in the morning.
google avatar

Caroline V.

Yelp
The pool day pass is the way to go to enjoy the amenities in Key West. The mahi bites were phenomenal! He fries and the Caesar salad were great as well. I highway recommend for the day.

Eric E.

Yelp
The hotel is very clean, service is great and the bartender Karoline was amazing! Very close to everything within a short walk! The only negative thing was our patio view was not the greatest.

Lindsey P.

Yelp
We stayed for 4 nights. PROS: pool & gym are nice. The pool food at the restaurant was decent. You can not beat the location. CONS: the bathroom and general cleanliness of the resort needs work. See attached photos of our bathroom, which looks like it has not been cleaned in months. Housekeeping is basically just throwing the sheets back over the bed and replacing towels. The general feel of the hotel and staff gives holiday inn vibes, did not feel appreciated as a guest while spending 500+ a night on a room.
google avatar

Jack W.

Yelp
Nice little rooms with balcony's and nice bathrooms. There are elevators to get to the garage and lobby or there are stairs leading up to the lobby from the front. Great space in key west!

Yelp
Don't waste your money!! My fiancé and mother booked two nights which totaled over 700 a night. The first room they put us in was next to the main pool which blasted music for hours. There solution was to wear earplugs. Instead We asked them to move us to a quieter room and they put us next to the elevator on the first floor. First, you can hear every single movement from the people above you as well as the water pipes, toilet flushing etc. But the worst part was listening to the elevator go up and down all hours of the night into the morning. And when I say it is LOUD, I slept with noise cancelling headphones on and could still hear it as if it was in our room. This apparently was them placing us in a quieter room. They compensated us by taking off the resort fees ($50) and one night of parking ($40). It was insulting. We literally paid over 600 a night to not sleep! Do NOT stay here. Also, they infer bike rentals are included but alas not free. Don't have high expectations coming here. This is not a 4 star hotel.
google avatar

Roberto B.

Yelp
Then WORST breakfast, it was like the free continental breakfast at a 2 star hotel. Extremely dissatisfied. Restaurant staff extremely unfriendly and appeared very unhappy at their jobs.
google avatar

Gary C.

Yelp
We were 2 couples for 4 nights. Very disappointed. The Front desk and cleaning staff were not pleasant. The linens (towels, sheets, pillows) were awful - had better at a cheap hotel. The worse was the pool - visited at night and it was disgusting. Full of oil, hair, etc. this is not a resort worthy of 500$ a night. Our friends room was not serviced 3 times. Go somewhere else! Oh an the resort fee??? For what??? The pool bar was good but it closes at 5pm. Nothing there after 5....
google avatar

Sajid K.

Yelp
By far terrible experience at this place, bathroom toilet was soiled, small flys in the room, front desk was a bit rash, carpeting is from the 80s, beds feel like spring sale, and she would not let us check out 1hr after checking in, did not even bring water to the room as it's supposed to be complimentary, $30 parking fee, $50 resort fee, $550+ a night you would expect more from a hotel, steer clear unless your ok with mediocre ambiance and service, will have to dispute with credit card company Another guess also came down complaining of no AC in the room and they have no one to repair it and instead gave the customer option for a fan smh
google avatar

Dvorah L.

Yelp
TLDR: pretty sure the hotel staff stole my dress. I accidentally left my dress in the closet of my room after we checked out. When I realized my mistake I called to ask them to mail it back. They kept saying they'd call me back and never did so after two days of trying to get ahold of them, I finally got them to send pictures of dresses from their lost and found. They claimed one was even from my room. None of them were my dress. I have reason to believe it was stolen and not reported by staff. It made no sense for them to take as long as they did to check lost and found. It was all very shady. Stay elsewhere if you can.

Faith M.

Yelp
To charge $450+ per night, a "resort" should have full amenities, have a balcony that DOESN'T face the trash can, provide proper directions for getting from place to place within the facility, have OPEN amenities and NOT charge when those are not available. The cost of this room was exorbitant--and they charge $50 more a day for their "resort fee". The list below shows how little "resort-like" Marker Key West actually is: 1. Restaurant was closed at 6pm on Saturday 2. Bar was closed at 6pm on Saturday 3. Pool was closed at 7pm on Saturday 4. Towels were poor quality and looked very old 5. Difficult to find and get to lobby from parking garage at checkin-no elevators available without room keys 6. Front desk not manned at times and parties coming back at night between midnight-3:30am were loud and disturbing sleep for all on the floor 7. The beds do not compare to even the lowest cost hotels I've been in recently. The mattresses felt like they were stuffed with grasses and were very uncomfortable We have nothing good to say about this location other than it was clean. We feel that even in Key West, this location is not worth what they are charging. At the very least, there should not have been a resort fee when those "amenities" were not available.

Yelp
Enough can't be said for the personal attention and service I received. Demi and her staff are committed to a great customer experience. She helped us through a very frustrating situation and couldn't have been more understanding attentive professional and friendly. She is the reason we will be coming back ! Thank you ! We can't wait for our next visit

Yelp
The staff was not friendly! We had 3 rooms. One couple never got their room cleaned one day. Once the bar closes there is nowhere to even get a water. The encourage you to go purchase drinks at a store. There is a back gate that has a scanner on it but during the day it is left open so people come from wherever to use the pool. There is noone overseeing the pool. Our first time to try The Marker and it will be our last time. Only positive was Rose who bartended the first day. The bar is usually closed by 6.

Yelp
Don't stay there! don't do it ! one night more than 1000 dollars During our stay, there were always ants on the washbasin in the bathroom, and there was no room service. did not clean the room during our stay.the hotel The services and facilities of the hotel are just like holiday inn....I can't understand how they dare to charge so much! We booked because their website took pictures of the hotel very beautifully, but in fact they were all deceptive

Yelp
When we checked in we all got a rum punch as a starter/welcome drink. There is valet parking only at it is $35/night. There is a elevator conveniently located right in front entrance . The rooms are beautifully decorated. Each room has a balcony. How cool is that ? There is a tray with snacks and few items like wine opener, t shirts, chocolate, Tito's, Patrón, etc. There is Keurig coffee maker, a small fridge with plenty of refreshments, and a nice 55" TV. We lounged at the amazing and refreshing pool, surrounded by a beautiful landscape. This hotel is centrally located. We walked everywhere. Will be staying here again when in Key West.

Yelp
Dirty carpets in hallway. Room had huge damp area in front of TV. End tables dirty. No good security in and out of building. Gate into property from street to pool area had no security. Door into building near pool was without security, never needed to use room key. Same as entering a hallway from stairwell, no locked doors. No room service the whole 4 days of our stay. Very loud music and party every Sat and Sun nights. Did I mention loud? Forget a nap during the day too up until 5pm. Never mentioned on website. So, I called about my wife leaving a $125.00 pair of shoes in our room. I was told they will check with room service the next morining. No call so I guess the shoes were stolen. For the price of the rooms there should have a least had a Continental Breakfast.

Yelp
This place is really nice and looks pretty. But as far as the rooms go, the beds are not comfortable and pillows were horrible!! The walls are paper thin and so not good for sleeping!! People in the hallway and street and on balconies! Even hear people and tv in next room!!

Yelp
I love this place and the tiny details that make staying here comfortable and high end. The location is perfect, close to the Historic Marina and Bahama Village. The staff are super friendly and attentive. The poolside food menu is decent and there's live music poolside which adds a nice relaxing touch.

Yelp
On two occasions at The Marker someone gave me a price that ended up not being accurate. The front desk told me my parking was complimentary but then I was charged at the end of my stay. And when I booked this reservation four months in advance, I specifically asked if the price I was quoted was the full amount per night. She withheld the ridiculous resort fee. Overall, my group ended up paying almost $700 more than we were told we'd pay for this two-night stay. The most frustrating thing was that when I called to dispute these charges, I was on hold and bounced around to different offices for almost an hour before I finally ended up at somebody's voicemail! Everyone kept giving me the "you need to talk to x person" line. Overall, fine hotel, but I ended up leaving with an empty wallet and bad taste in my mouth. Beware.

Yelp
This place is a joke. Housekeeping is non existent, had to call front desk twice to get the room cleaned on the second day of stay. First day we received no room cleaning, bed was pulled up and new towels delivered but used towels were left on the floor and nothing was wiped down. They have the nerve to charge a $50. Resort fee and can't even replenish your daily soaps and empty the trash cans. Employees don't seem to care. To many other great places to stay on the island then the Marker. Make your reservation at your own risk. We definitely learned our lesson.

Yelp
When I arrived, greeted by two pretty ladies with a smile and the air inside is precisely distinctive. Smells so good that it shifts your mindset and mood. Service: excellent. Everyone is friendly and professional. I had issues with neighbor next door who were loud and drunk. The security took care of it right away. Concierge were delightful to work with. I believe her name is Suzy and forgive me if I forgot. Outstanding service and she knew all about the tours and events happening for each persons needs. Front desk staff awesome, especially Cory and Matt. Professional and bright, always smiling and going beyond. Everyone at Cero Bodega restaurant was welcoming and helpful. The food here is the bomb! The cleanliness of hotel is top notch, conveniently located to everything. One of my favorite things was having a bike on hand to rent. Also, there is a hotel service fee which was not communicated to me when I checked in. It's for the pool towels, water and the wet bar. Ask for details. When I return, I would stay here. It's home away from home luxury style. One suggestion to management, during hot season I would have complimentary water by the front desk and the pool area. Doing a little added extra for your clients go a long way. Thank you for your hospitality.

Yelp
The ONLY good thing we can say about the Marker is the incredible location, right in the heart of the harbor and old, historic district. Extremely Overpriced with nothing to offer. Sterile looking rooms, a balcony that faces into the backside of the building next door, a restaurant that closes at 5:00 pm, no activities, no jacuzzi, shall I go on? Wish I spent our money on the Hyatt Centric. Will NOT be staying at the Marker again.

Yelp
When we checked in we got to resort at 3 pm. Front guest agent was very rude. Our checkin at 4 pm. front desk stated. There were flyers but nothing said. about flyers. In the a.m. at 9 a.m. heard a ladder and men talking on our deck. We went to front desk rude employee at front desk stated we are painting desk here are flyers. (flyers saw when checked in) We then got email saying deal with it painting starts at 10 a.m. So why employees on deck at 9 a.m. In a customer service job there should be a hey we are sorry not no matter what you say you as guest are wrong. Heard of empathy?

Yelp
Horrible customer service! I did a lot of research for my first trip to Key West and thought this would be the perfect place to stay. I booked a Harbor View room, prepaid and non-refundable. When I checked in, I was told I was downgraded to a partial Harbor View. No explanation why and anytime I tried to speak, the rude front desk lady kept cutting me off. I was told I'd be refunded the difference in rooms and the resort fee would be waived. 1. The room was not partial Harbor View. It was a view of palm trees. 2. The initial bill I saw showed me receiving a refund just over $113. My actual refund was just over $74. 3. The room and service were definitely not worth the price. I'd never go back nor recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
Staff were young, helpful but utterly untrained. The physical plant has been neglected, the hallways are shoddy, landlord green paint and dirty carpets. Only one room cleaning per week. There was a hole in the bottom sheet of my bed. Carpet in the room needed cleaning. The outdoor furniture poolside was stained. The prices were high but the services were sub-par. I would not recommend the Marker under any circumstances. Also quite noisy at night with nearby bar. Many lovely places, exquisite for slightly less money.

Yelp
BEDBUGS. Found them and the manager Ej (the worst), insisted that it was a mosquito like we didn't know the difference. After finally convincing him to call pest control, they showed up and immediately said that it was indeed bedbugs. Upon this knowledge we asked the reasonable request of getting our clothes cleaned. Ej said that they didn't have an on-site washer and dryer and he didn't have a car so we'd need to WALK our laundry to a place offsite and bill them back. And on top of that said they could only downgrade us to a different room, not upgrade. Ended up missing our entire snorkel trip we had planned that day. Never got any meaningful apology from the hotel. The bedbugs honestly wasn't the worst part- it was how we were treated afterwards. Never stay here.

Yelp
Normally I would give a 5- but the family pool needs to be where the extra adults only pool is. Adults want the bar, the music, and to vacation without other peoples children dominating the pools, running around, crying, screaming, parents yelling and babies peeing in the pool. Rooms, convenience and staff (esp pool staff & bartender) all get a 5. But kids and loud families ruined our anniversary celebration - will have to find an adults only hotel next time

Yelp
There is some good at The Marker as well as a few things that just don't make sense. We stayed for 6 nights over the July 4th holiday. As for the positive: - Nice rooms, good AC, very comfortable bed. - Great pool bar staff - Friendly check in and staff throughout. - Great location: a five minute block from the action but not a loud street. The not so good... - $40 daily resort fee. For what?!??! - We chose to have our room "cleaned" 3 times. Hands down the worst housekeeping I have ever witnessed in my life. No vacuuming, toilet not cleaned, no toilet paper supplied, disposable cups not tossed, counters with visible residue not even wiped down. - Not enough lounge chairs at the pool, and way too many people reserving chairs and not even using them. - Ridiculous mini bar prices. Absolutely. Ridiculous. For these reasons, I cannot fully recommend the Marker and would probably not stay here again.

Yelp
We stayed 4 nights. No room service. We were told it's because they can't find employees. Still, this was unacceptable. A huge plus to staying in a hotel is to be able to come back to a freshly cleaned room - that you didn't have to clean yourself. I do that every day at home! Skipping a day is ok, but after 4 nights with no room service, it was a mess. Towels piled high, trash cans overflowing. What a disappointment. I also really enjoy having complimentary coffee at hotels at which we stay. (So many horror stories of unclean in-room coffee makers, I refuse to use them.) No complimentary coffee at The Marker. 2 strikes. Our room was fine. (Other than it was just a mess after 4 nights/5 days of no housekeeping.) Location is good.

Yelp
Walked in this place and the first thing I get in the front desk was bad vibes. no smile just a straight face. (Idk i you work with customers service if you can't give it.) anyway so we had a problem with the reservation and asked for help from here. There was no internet from here to even try and help. She turned us away and y'all us we can call customer service. Your call if to come here or not. (I don't like to leave bad reviews the owner can contact me if he is intending to resolve this issue)

Yelp
We just checked in and the room is gorgeous. The location is on the seaport wharf and the customer service is off the chain. I am excited for the rest of this stay. We just had dinner at the pool and it was very good. I had a watermelon, strawberry, cucumber, mint, feta salad which was huge and refreshing. John had the grilled chicken sandwich with guacamole, tomatoes and cole slaw on it. Even the fries were deelish. After 2 days here, this is by far my favorite place. I come to Key West and always try a different place. I will stay here every time i come back if i can afgord it. Seriously, they bring customer service to a new level.

Yelp
The customer service at this hotel is awful. Rude and they view you as a revenue generator not a guest. We thought the checkout time was noon, but it was eleven. Be very clear in this if you stay there because they hit you with $50 fee even if you pack your stuff immediately and leave. This hotels adds fees for everything. The staff is rude and does not make you feel welcome. you are viewed much more as a walking dollar sign than a guest of the hotel. I would strongly recommend against staying at this hotel.

Yelp
Well this hotel was very underwhelming. The room was a decent size for two people and clean, but the shower reminded me of the communal bathrooms in college and you wore flip flops to not get athletes' foot. Considering it markets as a resort and charges a resort fee of $45 per day, it should offer more. They do list things included for the $45 fee including single cup coffee maker (offered for free at other hotels), bath bomb (single bath bomb per stay, not day, and this was listed as part of the resort fee), three small, dirty, lukewarm pools, pool bar (at the kids pool and not full bar), emptying trash (offered for free at other places), concierge (not including tips), and access to the spa at the Southern Most hotel (a 35 min walk from hotel and all services are at additional charge). As you can see, the $45 A DAY gives you nothing other hotels don't offer at no additional charge. There was no live music as mentioned in other reviews. The front desk personal were also pretty rude. Since they have suspended cleaning of rooms due to COVID (which I absolutely understand and did not influence my rating at all), you must call down to the front desk if you need anything. We stayed a week and needed additional towels, coffee, toilet paper, and soap. Not once did they actually bring these items. Most often they were super inconvenienced and gave a loud sigh before saying they will come right up... they never did. Other times they would tell us to call housekeeping who never answered the phone (probably because they were busy doing their job). Now I absolutely understand places are understaffed, however, saying "it may take a few minutes" goes a long way. Also, when we called the front desk, things did not come late, they did not come AT ALL. That is unacceptable for $45 a day. Luckily, we were able to ask housekeeping when we saw them in the hall and they got it for us right away. I wanted to like this hotel so much, but it isn't worth it. If you want the resort experience, you will get more bang for your buck at the surrounding hotels for a bit more per day. If you are on a budget, stay somewhere else. This is not a "deal", it is a rip off.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU LIKE AIR CONDITIONING. My friends and I booked this hotel for the four of us, and from the moment we walked into the room it was hot. We thought maybe it just needed to cool down, but we told the front desk and expected an update/fix by the time we got back from dinner. We got back around midnight and found the room to be extremely hot/humid. After speaking with the front desk again, the woman working said that "it is a known problem, 4-5 rooms are having this issue." Their solution was to give us box fans for the room until we could speak with a manager in the morning because they didn't have any other room to put us in. If it was a known problem, why were we put in that room to begin with??? In the morning, "for the inconvenience" we were offered a $50 discount over text message when we paid almost $400 for one night at this resort. When we complained to the desk during check-out, they stated that "we should of tried to turn the fan portion up on the thermostat" and that "the woman working last night is new and doesn't know what she's talking about." When she went to check the room/thermostat herself, she gave us attitude and said that they have our email/phone number and will contact us. Later on, we got a text that they would refund us 50% of the rate. Again, why would you rent out a room that has a known AC issue and not try to resolve it when it was brought to your attention, or at least own up to the problem and offer a solution. For the price, it is not worth it. Customer service experience was not acceptable. Save your time and book elsewhere.

Yelp
It's a nice hotel. It's right by the water and very convenient walking distance to Duval, and other shopping/restaurants. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was great. Two of the pools are in the same area. We used the serenity pool, which is adults only and on the other side of the building. It was serene, and always a perfect temperature. Most of the time, very few people used it during our stay. I would not, however, book this hotel again, due to the the additional resort fee charged on a daily basis, which is over and beyond what you pay to stay. Our total was $275.66. This is the $35 plus sales tax plus occupancy tax ($39.38/day). This is on top of the 2 grand we paid to stay for 7 nights. My husband booked and paid online; I read later about this additional charge. I read that this resort fee includes: beach towels, access to the fitness center, business center/computer access, phone calls, in-room safe, in-room coffee, housekeeping. When my husband called the hotel a few weeks prior to our trip and asked about this, he was told it was $35/day. He wanted to waive the fees by advising we didn't want the use of what it includes, and was told it is mandatory. Keep in mind that the only perk that is complimentary is bottled water (labeled The Marker). There is no complimentary breakfast, and no happy hour. There are plenty of other hotels/motels in the area that offer this. We also tipped our housekeeping staff and the bellhop who was helpful. Two-thirds of the front desk staff was friendly. When we asked on our first day for a late checkout due to our flight time, we were told they wouldn't know until the last day and to ask then. On our last day, since we did not need to leave for the airport until 3:00 pm, we again asked for a late checkout and were told we would get a call by 10:30 am letting us know. We did not receive a call. We asked at the desk at 11 am, and were told with a smile, that yes, we did receive a late check out of...noon! Wow. They were able to hold our luggage until later that afternoon.

Yelp
The Marker is a lovely looking hotel/rooms/lobby in a great location. It is literally across the street from Pepe's(Key West's oldest restaurant) and The Schooner Warf and a thousand other restaurants and a short walk to Duval. But there are many many places to choose from with similar attributes. Some places think that it's ok to fleece people. Felt insulted & violated & taken advantage of. I understand that most places have a check-in at 3pm and check out at 11:00am. Right there we are all being ripped off by hotels, but yet we let it happen. The Marker has a check in at 4pm and check out at 11:00am. What's next 6pm? 7pm? Only after you pay $40, are you able to get your room early. If that isn't a slap to a patron, I don't know what is. I paid the $40 required to get my room at a decent time and went off into town. When the time came and I asked for a later check out ( at noon ), They basically said "NO, I'm sorry", we can't. You are charged a $45 RESORT Fee, and all you have is a gym, and 3 pools that nobody can get in, because they are freezing. You are paying $45 a day resort fee and they can't even have 1 of the 3 pools heated?????. There was never anyone in the pools. Not even Northerners. SOLAR PANELS man! or a heating system!! You are charging enough!! WHERE IS THE RESORT that warrants being charged this? THE MARKER IS NOT A RESORT!!!!! When I went to the front lobby, the gentleman, couldn't believe that none of them were heated and was going to "have someone take care of it because one of them was supposed to be heated". When I checked out at 11:00am, I mentioned it to the ladies, my extreme dissappointment, they basically said, "The pools are never heated because we're in Florida" Colleagues of mine were staying on the first floor and in the middle of the night, 2 women were yelling at the top of their lungs and literally running back and forth like 5 year olds with potty mouths. He finally opened the door and yelled an expletive for them to shut the %$#@& up. They then tried opening their door and banged on their door. There wasn't a security guard, a cop a hotel employee in sight. I have had to stay at Airbnbs because of being in a location during a Holiday and unable to get a hotel room( like Seville during Holiday week, to name an example), and I end up being treated like gold and in a charming, boutique-like lodging without the abuse. I travel a lot, and The Marker will never ever ever ever see me or any of my associates again. The way UBERS are doing away with abusive Taxis maybe the same will happen with hotels like The Marker. Oh yeah! I couldn't connect once to the WIFI (it doesn't have a lock, yeah cause who can connect?) And the pillows were from Bedrock. There were like 10 pillows between the 2 beds and all were seemingly petrified. Pretty hotel, with pretty bad manners.

Yelp
The hotel is a 2 star that charges like a 4-5 star. It is simply not worth the price. Be aware, they charge an additional $45 per night resort fee that is always charged at the end of the stay (not as part of any 3rd party or online reservation). They make you sign a waiver at the check-in that says you will pay this additional charge - like you have any options at that point! What does this resort fee cover? I don't know... When you come back to the hotel after a long hot day, all you want to do is dip in the pool and get a nice cold drink. Well, neither are available at the Marker. The bar closes early, even on Friday and Saturdays so no drinks after about 5pm. The pool is a balmy 90 degrees and is the opposite of refreshing. For a $45 fee, you would expect some bar staff or at least some fresh cold water in the pool (or as all the guests called it the "bath tub") Well the resort fee must cover exception service and cleaning crew... nope. We came back to our room to find a pile of dirty towels and clothes on our sink counter. They were filthy, crusty, and had hair on them. They were not ours. We informed the front desk (in person because we were put on hold on the phone) and they reacted with shock that we were complaining, but they did say they would resolve it. We left for dinner and when we returned the DIRTY towels and clothes were folded and put away in the cubbies! The same DIRTY CRUSTY towels from someone else's room! They finally came by with a new set and no apology. So, the $45 resort fee does not cover clean linens... The location of the hotel is good. Walkable to almost anything you want to do in Key West (the only reason it gets a 2 star instead of 1).
