Such wonderful service! From the moment we checked in we were met on a first name basis , treated as family the entire stay and greeted with smiles at every turn. Both the day and night managers were genuinely happy to be there and enjoyed not only their jobs but meeting guests. We also had the privilege of spending time getting to know the owner, Angela, who is very hands on and it shows in the minor details. Our room was lovely and quiet , we enjoyed the wines in our rooms and the evening canapés/cocktails. The outdoor fireplace was lovely and Kareem, the night manager was more than happy to keep the fires burning. The breakfast crew with Lea was so attentive and the food was delicious , both breakfast and dinner. It was nice to have the heated pool available , and the convenience to town was another plus. A lovely venue with wonderful people working there , we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This was also the first place we have stayed with a secret passage for guests.

This hotel is an experience. The grounds are stunning. Everywhere you look is beauty. Don’t miss the hydranga walking trail. The rooms are large with luxury appointments. The staff are 10 star and what makes this place so exceptional. The food is delicate and exquisite. And of course, the wine is plentiful and delish.

Second visit, this time for three nights, and once again The Marlborough is everything you could ask for. Immaculate grounds, luxurious accommodation plenty of things to do (we played pétanque, croquet and and swam in the sheltered pool) and great staff. Loved the 6pm complimentary cocktails and a chance to meet the other guests. Complementary mini bar and room snacks topped up each day. Relaxing bath with a glass of the house Rosé etc. Sad to leave.

Easily one of the very best hotel experiences I’ve had. The property is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and well appointed. The restaurant is amazing - including the includes breakfast. But what really sets it apart is the service and attention to detail. From the complimentary happy hour, to the staff knowing everyone’s name, to the little touches they leave in your room (like a small thing of real milk in the fridge for coffee), this is an experience that’s worth the money. We actually chose to stay an extra night because of how lovely it was. Definitely stay here!

Stayed as part of our NZ road trip, only stayed for 2 nights unfortunately, wish it could have been longer. Small (10 rooms), very stylish and elegant. Large clean rooms with balcony. Staff super attendant. Lovely grounds to stroll around in and a great pool (which we had to ourselves). All in all, an idyllic experience. It is expensive, but you feel you get your moneys worth and some.

Magnificent property - Macey and Angela and the rest of the staff were so accommodating and welcoming. Down to every detail of homemade cookies in the room, and happy hour outside with New Zealand's wonderful wines. Food was absolutely delicious. Rooms were beautiful, cozy and immaculate. Can't wait to return.

My husband and I treated ourselves to the Marlborough Boutique Hotel during our honeymoon, and it was absolutely worth it. The exceptional experience started even before we arrived, with the staff going above and beyond to help us arrange tours and transfers—even last-minute ones! The bike tour they booked for us was so much fun, and the fact that they have a helipad on-site made it easy to combine a helicopter tour and transfer to our next hotel.||When we arrived, the service was next-level. Our luggage was delivered straight to our room, we were greeted with prosecco, and they gave us a quick but thoughtful tour of the property. It was the perfect welcome. We loved the daily happy hour, where we got to mingle with other guests over drinks and hors d'oeuvres. With just 10 rooms, the hotel felt so intimate, and the personalized service really shone. Breakfast was delicious, and dinner at their restaurant was equally impressive.||The room itself was stunning—by far the largest and most luxurious of our three-week New Zealand trip. We especially loved the wines provided in-room, which were made from the Marlborough vineyard and only available on-site (either in your room or at the restaurant). The housekeeping team did a fantastic job, and the evening turndown service added to the luxury.||Marlborough Boutique Hotel really knows how to make you feel spoiled. Whether it’s the little details or the big ones like helicopter transfers, everything was perfect. This place is 10/10—we’d recommend it in a heartbeat and can’t wait to go back someday!

Excellent dinner and drinks with a lovely view. What a relaxing pleasant evening. The staff and owner went out of their way to accommodate us. The whole design of the house was exceptional and well maintained.

Yelp
My husband and I had a 2 night stay booked at the Marlborough during our 2 week trip to NZ from the US. We were just shy of a month (3 days) before we were to go and my husband came down with pneumonia. We had to cancel the entire trip, as he ended up being hospitalized. BEWARE of the 30 day cancellation policy the hotel has. Even given our circumstances they wouldn't even budge on this policy. Not even 50%. They said we could use the credit for another stay, but don't know when we will attempt to return and now I have a bad taste in my mouth and wouldn't stay there if they paid me. All our other bookings were fully refunded as there was plenty of time for them to rebook our room. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL. They were totally unfriendly and had no regard for our situation. This is an expensive hotel and now I'm out $2,500! I booked thru Amex travel and they got the same response when they did the inquiry on the charge. HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!!!

Yelp
A highlight of our NZ trip. Beautiful grounds and buildings. This was apparently an historic convent building, moved here and beautifully restored. There are such nice touches as stained-glass windows. A separate chapel building is the wine lounge. We sat by a roaring outdoor fireplace, and were served pre-dinner wine and canapés. Beautiful, large room. Restful public rooms. I think about 16 acres of gardens, with a pond and plantings. Very restful and elegant place to stay. And dinner was superb. Stay here if you're visiting the Marlborough wine region.
