Tap beers and a couple of real ales available. Nicely decorated place with nice seating and wooden floors throughout. Food served here that looked very nice. Clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and polite. Beer was good. Enjoyed my visit.

Had the Sunday beef roast here and really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was excellent—cozy, quiet, and surprisingly spacious. Everything felt clean and well looked after, which made for a really comfortable dining experience. A great spot if you're looking for a relaxed place to enjoy a traditional roast without the usual crowd or noise.

The charcuterie starter was tasty. The Sunday Roast was decent, potatoes were less exceptional, but the Yorkshire pudding was really good. Sticky toffee pudding was delicious. Service was outstanding.

Went for Sunday Roast (beef). I requested more rare beef, but the first roast I received was more medium to well. When they came to check on me, I was honest that it was I overcooked for me. They did reach it with perfect medium rare slices, as initially requested. I commend them for the corrected.

We visited The Marlborough Tavern on a busy Thursday evening for dinner with friends. The pub was very busy, recommend booking a table, and had a great atmosphere. The service from all the staff on duty was first class. Both of the ladies choose the sole and the men the burgers. All four plates of food looked and smelt delicious. All the ingredients were perfectly cooked and tasted great. The French fries that came with my burger were exceptional. I would highly recommend this venue in Bath.

Google
Very friendly and efficient service followed by very well priced wine, which quenched our thirst! We shared a starter, which had us ravenous for our main course as it was so scrumptious! The mains were generous portions of hearty food, which had us fulfilled on a cold winter day. Our only regret is not coming here sooner!

Google
Excellent in all respects. Helpful and welcoming staff, tasty food and drink and authentic feel in this pub at the top of the hill. Only drawback for me personally was the lack of air conditioning, but I realize that while in England during this hottest part of the summer that most places are simply not outfitted to feed you AND keep you cool! A pass given on that score.

Have just had 3 small plates here. Every one was exceptionally good. I also enjoyed the Honey's Midford local cider.

Yelp
Good place for a quick bite and beer. Fish and chips was great but hanger steak needed some salt and pepper ! Service was good !

Yelp
Nice place, nice staff, nice seating and nice food. A tad bit touristy but generally a good pub. Definitely worth a visit while shopping in Marlborough. The food is your standard pub fare but there are many places to eat here, little nooks, out door seating, basically lots of interesting stuff. Would love to have been there for and evening, enjoying the ales, etc. Definitely your stop when you are shopping England-Style!

Yelp
Great food, wonderful outdoor space to mitigate covid risk, and the staff were very understanding when my husband accidentally smashed two pint glasses

Yelp
This place is great! The food, the service, the ambiance! We booked a table for an early dinner at 5, it was not crowded - perks of eating with a 3 year old! They even have a kids menu! The server was really kind and talkative. The manager on duty was also really nice. The food was fabulous I had the vegetarian curry dish / it was SO good! By the time we finished around 7 - the place was starting to fill up! Id go again.

Yelp
We did not have a reservation, but were seated. Close to the door but still okay. Nice selection of beer on tap. I ordered the fish and chips. The chips were triple cooked, so perhaps that's why they were on the large side. I actually didn't like the chips at all...too large, sort of heavy tasting. But then again I prefer small crispy chips. The fish was really good. My partner had a burger and really enjoyed that a lot.

Yelp
Vegetarian coconut tofu curry plate. Incredible. Best meal in Bath. Worth the walk! Duck dish on top of photo!

Yelp
If only all "British" grub tasted like this... 1. This isn't one of those pubs that typically serves greasy fries and chicken strips. It was more like gourmet "pub" food that was reasonably priced. Of all the fish and chip dishes I tried during my vacay in Bath, Oxford, and London, the ones here were the b-e-s-t! 2. I don't remember specifically what the rest of my family ordered (burgers, pot pie, and grilled chicken dishes) but I had a bite of all of them and it was great. My brothers said the beer on tap was really good. 3. Nice, laid back atmosphere with with a friendly staff. Our waiter/bartender was a doll, I just wanted to pack him in my suitcase back to San Diego......for my girls back home of course ;-) But I'll be back Marlborough.... You def. have to stop by if you are in Bath...Cheers!

Yelp
Visited here for a friend's birthday, the food was amazing, they had an extensive menu ranging from steaks to tapas! The staff were friendly too, cannot fault it. The portions were a good size too! Sadly was too full for dessert...

Yelp
Excellent Pub Grub - Has made the Michelin Guide 2009. The Chips are great. Although the best hand cut ones only come if you order a Steak. Be sure to book on Fridays and Saturdays to avoid disappointment. Very nice sun trap beer garden at rear of the Pub. Good selection of beers including Staropramen and Hoegaarden also very good selection of wines.

Yelp
I love this pub. Fantastic atmosphere, food is brilliant. Cool and trendy gastro pub with a real mix of people. Warm inside, lovely contemporary but homely furnishings with just the right amount of glam. And they serve Hoegaarden...with fish and chips and mushy peas. Love it. Garden perfect for lounging about in the summer too. Do yourself a favour and if you are in bath, go here

Yelp
A regular haunt when I visit Bath and an even more regular haunt for those I stay with! I can see why; a big (but not too big), airy pub with a mix of tables and comfy chairs and (joy of joys) a walled garden. The food is great, mixing tapas style dishes to share with handsome plates of pub classics at lunch time. Or more formal (but not too posh) cuisine for dinner. Ingredients are mostly local, seasonal and very fine indeed. Just writing this is making me hungry!

Yelp
This is a great pub to come to if you have a spare afternoon that feel like whiling away with a newspaper and a pint/coffee. The views across the golf course are pretty relaxing on one side of the pub, and it's a short walk away from the Royal Crescent and Victoria Park, if you fancy grabbing a bite to eat or a spot of lunch. It's the relaxed nature of this pub that makes it so appealing. It gets busier in the evenings and they often have acts on - usually bands or comedians - that can be worth a look, but it's the daytime vibes that keeps me coming back here.

Yelp
Wonderful bistro pub. Excellent food, excellent service, a warm atmospheric bar, and courtyard garden. Can't recommend highly enough.

Yelp
Very fatty meat. Waited ages for food and the staff were stuffy posh typical bath staff who do care about service as long as they're getting paid. Very very expensive for what it is. If you're happy to pay a lot for bad service and average food then head on over!!

Yelp
we went to the tavern after much recomendation. it was a very welcoming place with super staff. we found the food not excellent, sadly. starter of terrine++ was bland to my palate as indeed was the 45 day sirloin. it was really good steak - perfectly cooked rare, but just short of flavour - especially for well hung meat. my wife and sister in law ate the bread pudding which was undercooked with hard apricots and soggy bread. this was credited from the bill. so a lovely place with lovely people but disapointing food after all the advertsiing and hype. phil ps my b in l had the steak with the pepper sauce and said it was good - so who knows! pps trying the chequers next

Yelp
Love the food, the ambiance and the beer. A real pleasure and with genuine knowledge about the producers of the meat and vegetables served.

Yelp
Good place for candle light dinner or business lunch. Reservation is absolutly important. Come in and chill out. Best place
