Wow, what a wonderful two-night stay at the oldest hotel in Savannah! Staff is very helpful and friendly. We stayed in Room 223, the Juliette Gordon Low suite (she is the founder of the Girl Scouts.) It is a large, two room suite. The living and bathroom are in the front part of the suite, and then past that is the bedroom. The bedroom is sort of long and a bit narrow. It has a TV, leather chair, mini dresser and tall armoir. The living room has a writing desk, small sofa that opens to a bed, TV, two side chairs and a small refrigerator. The bathroom is small with pedestal stink and shower (no tub.) Two windows in the bedroom overlook the breakfast atrium and four other windows overlooking an alley way. The suite is located at the end of a long corridor and is very private and directly across from the fire exit/stairwell. Daily housekeeping service.
Complimentary cold bottled water in lobby. Each evening at 5pm, they serve complimentary wine in the big parlor across from the front desk. On Monday evenings at 530pm, there is a historian who talks about the history of Savannah and the Marshall House for about an hour. On Tuesday evenings, trivia.
Breakfast is include with your stay. It is served daily from 7-10am. It was a buffet, but now, you are handed a paper when you are seated, and each person at the table marks off checkouts of what they would like for breakfast. The server collects your paper and your selections are served to you just a few minutes later. There's two quiche options, cereals, fruit, assortment of breads, scrbled eggs, sausage and bacon. Nice selection and ok tasting. Pretty location within the hotel.
