The Best New Hotels in Napa Valley, California

"Over the past few years, the town of Napa has come into its own as a destination. For a car-free, totally walkable wine weekend, two lovingly restored 19th-century Victorians have opened just steps apart near the revamped riverfront district. The George is a nine-room Queen Anne on the National Register of Historic Places, while The McClelland House, with six spacious suites, is a Victorian-Italianate mansion. Both are great home bases to explore Oxbow public market, which has outposts of local favorites like Hog Island Oyster Bar, and tasting rooms like Outland and the always fantastic restaurant Angèle."

The McClelland House is a beautiful property. Each room is unique and every detail thought out. Simply stunning!! But what makes this property even more amazing is Sydney who welcomed us and took great care of us throughout our stay. Our chef Andy was wonderful as well. I can’t say enough about what an exceptional experience this was from start to finish!! We look forward to our next stay.

Stayed here for my 50th birthday weekend. Stunningly beautiful mansion, rehabbed with both attention to historical detail and modern flair. The on site staff were tremendous. Breakfast is cooked to order by a professional chef each morning and the food was delicious. Convenient to downtown Napa, but in a quiet neighborhood. My friend wants to come here for her 50th!Highly recommend!

Beautiful home in a great location! Me and my friends felt welcomed from the beginning and really enjoyed ourselves. Loved the happy hour and great food! Innkeeper was very nice and would definitely come back again.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this B&B. This was our second time to stay, and this time we rented out the entire house. It was such a dream. The breakfast is amazing, the staff is amazing, the rooms are amazing, the location is amazing, the service is amazing, and we had the chef cook for us 2 of the nights and the food was delicious. Every detail of the house is so well thought out; its just the best home away from home! We will come back again and again!

We loved the McClelland House! They really did a great job combining classic charm with modern convenience. We stayed in The Master Suite and it was incredible. Spacious, comfortable and beautifully designed. The staff was so friendly and welcoming and made sure our stay was perfect. Breakfast was delicious.

I recently hosted my company Christmas party at The McClelland House, and it was an absolutely incredible experience! The Painted Lady team couldn’t have asked for a more perfect venue. This stunning historic property radiates charm and elegance, with every detail meticulously curated. From the luxurious furnishings to the impeccable ambiance, it’s truly a masterpiece of Napa hospitality. Choolwe and Sydney were beyond helpful, ensuring every aspect of our event was seamless. Their warm and attentive service made planning stress-free and added a personal touch that we greatly appreciated. Our team had the best time celebrating in such a breathtaking setting and unanimously agreed that The McClelland House should be our annual party destination. Highly recommend this gem for anyone seeking an unforgettable event space in Napa!

Staying at The McClelland House was so luxurious. I felt very glamorous being there after enjoying a wonderful day on my "sister's" birthday. Loved the rooms, loved how they decorated the whole place. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Would definitely go back. I highly recommend staying here if you are ever in the Napa Valley area. The location was perfect and was within walking distance to downtown.

Google
Such a fantastic B&B. The rooms are absolutely lovely, and the service/staff are fantastic. It's in a great central location and is super easy to walk around downtown Napa. I highly recommend visiting, and will definitely be back.

Yelp
What a beautiful property!!! Came up for a brunch/day party. Those of us who were celebrating our birthday were able ( there are only 6) to get rooms. Everything in the room was immaculate. I stayed in the Library, wow!! During the day party I met the owner, and had a glass of wine, what a friendly soul he is. I recommend this place!!! If you're looking for a quick getaway from the "Bay" I highly recommend this gem!!!

Yelp
Highly recommended. The newly updated (and renamed) McClelland House is magnificently appointed and the staff are absolutely delightful. We were well cared for during our visit.

Yelp
We stay for the first time in this beautiful victorian house. Location superb. Near Napa downtown, we could go walking to near restaurants, coffee shops, shops. Etc.... The house is absolutely beautiful, the decoration, so elegant, furniture, paintings, chandeliers. All of extreme good taste. The anfitriona / owners are so friendly and down to earth, they make you feel you are at home. In the morning they have a chef. That will make breakfast , you can eat in the kitchen counter. Also. They have happy hour nights. The owner send us a text message inviting us, nice to meet other guests and have a nice conversation while tasting very good wines and cheeses. We have an awesome time.

Yelp
Unreal experience. You can't even imagine a place like this exists. The tailored menu, the staff, the amount of fun and friends you make in this place...it's decorated beautifully, cleaned to perfection. Thank you for the hospitality and we will be back! Stay here! Over another place! Trust me!...

Yelp
I booked a reservation for Memorial Day Weekend 2024, which was confirmed. today, out of the blue, the hotel canceled. no explanation, no attempt to book me in another place, nothing. just an email cancelation. is this the way they do business?

Yelp
My husband and I are locals to the Napa area. We live about 20 min away and come often. We've stayed at numerous bed and breakfasts in the area and had high expectations for the Mcclelland. We arrived at 4:45. I had messaged the property the day before asking if an early check-in would be allowed and received no response. Not a big deal, there was plenty to do in Napa that afternoon. We walked in the front door was unlocked, we thought this was because we were expected. We walked into a dark house. No lights on. No reception area, no wine as stayed upon arrival, and not a person in sight. It felt as if we walked into someone's home uninvited. My husband called the owner and asked if anyone was around to check us in. The owner was somewhere out of the area, and clearly busy doing something else as there was a lot of background noise on his end of the phone. He told us our room was upstairs and provided us the code to get in. Well, this is where things went from uncomfortable to mortifying. We are on the phone with the owner opening our room and there was a couple in the room in bed! After apologizing profusely and closing the door the owner told us to go back downstairs to a different room, saying that it was a mistake and didn't know how it happened. We later found out that the maid hadn't this couple into the wrong room. Our new room was nice (the library room). They provided a complimentary bottle of champagne with an apology note. A nice gesture. But the room was not what we had in mind. The bed was comfortable, but there was a lot of guess-work in figuring out what controls did what. When we finally settled down for bed the porch light from outside lit up our entire room. After trying to ignore it and fall asleep, my husband finally got up and started looking for switches to turn it off in the lobby. With a few tries we finally found it and we're able to go to sleep. Breakfast was scheduled for 8-10am. We came in the kitchen around 8:20. There was a young man preparing some yogurt. We were not told good morning, not told to have a seat. Just started at awkwardly. My husband finally asked, "what do we do? Is breakfast ready?" He responded with "10 minutes" so we went back to our room and came back at 8:30. We sat down and again, we were not talked to or greeted, or even told what we would be having for breakfast. Just sat there awkwardly waiting. Omelets came out one at a time. Again, not a word. I had to ask for water, sugar, and a stirring spoon. I felt as if we were unwanted guests and an inconvenience to be served breakfast. Overall, the house is beautiful, the beds are very comfortable, the rooms are also beautiful. The hospitality and customer service was just atrocious. We have never felt so awkward or uncomfortable in a bed and breakfast, and to walk in on another couple in the room we had reserved is an experience I will unfortunately not be able to forget. Needless to say we will not be returning. The complimentary bottle of champagne and discounting the room was a very nice gesture, but there were just one too many things that went wrong. If you're looking for a similar atmosphere, but with good hospitality go around the corner and stay at The George.

Yelp
staff canceled my reservation via email less than 24 hrs before my arrival, no phone call. they offered to pay the difference at another location only to not have their credit card go through. horrible management!

Yelp
My wife and I wanted to get away for our 15 year anniversary and just have relaxation, sip wine, wake up late...no kids (we have three) and pause the work emails. The McClelland-Priest BnB was a perfect choice! I felt like a hero because she really wanted to stay in a Victorian. Business was a little slower during the week so we felt like the entire house was ours for a couple days. There are so many places to choose from and this one is a best-kept-secret. Did I mention their is an attached bathroom with a jacuzzi tub/shower? Major plus ! Side note: It would be perfect for a large group of friends to rent out the whole place! Group getaways would be fun too! A leisurely five minute walk from the main downtown Napa Area. This is a winner!

Yelp
I can't recommend this B&B highly enough. Celeste was very friendly and was a great guide to the local area. The breakfasts were fantastic as well! If we come back to Napa we will stay again.

Yelp
A definite disappointment ! We stay in Napa 2-3 times a year . The last 10 at the Inn on First . For our anniversary I decided to upgrade to what seemed like a special venue . Two nights at $1700 was going to be special . On checking in Saturday at 3:20 could not find anyone to let us in . Finally a young lady showed up and directed us to our room. No wine at checkin as promised. No chocolate or snacks ever . At 5 p m cheese and wine tasting was just two wedges of cheese , we opted to go downtown and enjoy wine and snacks instead . After dinner we found that we could not get water to go on for tub nor any instructions for the jets . We had to call the young lady for the situation . The next morning found we only had one coffee cup and no glasses of any kind . Sharing a cup was an experience since one of us uses sugar and one of us likes it black . For breakfast there were 10 other guest and a full breakfast was served by a cook and server . There was no concierge or anyone to field questions on local winery's. Later that day at 5 p m found there was no wine tasting etc So we went to dinner .Monday morning no full breakfast so the four tensing guest were served French toast . All in all we found that the inn keepers had done major renovation and the property is amazing . But the fact that the innkeepers were elsewhere was reflective on what we encountered . Let us in .

Yelp
Poor customer services, the price is very high with the lack of services, leave several messages late return calls. Can't recommend this place, but the historical site might be worth seeing.

Yelp
The location is ideal for those who want to be in the heart of downtown Napa. You're less than one mile from several touristy Napa Locations like Oxbow Market, Napa Valley Distillery, great restaurants and the Wine Train. When I first glimpsed McClelland-Priest Bed and Breakfast I instantly fell in love with the veranda. The place is elegant and homey all at the same time. The hosts made you feel like a family friend in their welcome package. Even if the host is not available to greet you on arrival, they make sure you have what you need to get situated. The welcome packet contained maps to vineyards, 2 for 1 tasting coupons, Napa Valley magazine containing a variety of activities. We stayed in the Carducci Suite. It was very roomy that included a private bath with separate entrance to the veranda. (Bliss) Breakfast is served every morning at 9:00 AM by the owner Celeste. She is very friendly and gave us great ideas on how to spend our day in Napa. The breakfast overall was good though sometimes some items were not hot. It was the perfect amount of food. This is the place to stay if you want to be close to the downtown action.

Yelp
The hosts are incredible! The customer service and attention to detail are the best in the valley. We had birthday party with 30 + people and this place easily accommodated us. Our room was the The Bond Suite. My wife and I will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Quiet neighborhood. This is a beautiful home with plenty of character. Our room the Firenze suite was spacious and had a private deck off the back that was quite large. The bathroom was large with a jetted tub. Close to downtown, literally 2 blocks from main street and all the activities. Breakfast was good but repetitive. Each morning started with coffee, tea, juice and small pastries while you waited for breakfast. First course was chopped fresh fruit with whipped cream, yogurt, and granola; it was good and light. The first AND third mornings we were there we were served a hashbrown casserole with eggs and cheese and a slice of canadian bacon one day, cooked sliced Kielbasa the last day. The second morning we were served the fresh fruit again and a french toast casserole with almonds and the canadian bacon slice. Both breakfasts were good. From a bed and breakfast I do expect a little more variety in what they serve for breakfast as it is part of the experience. I have stayed at other B&B's several times and have never had the same breakfast, AND the breakfast was individually made for each guest. I understand that takes a little more time, yet it adds to the character of your stay. Celeste is very friendly and kind as others have said. This was a nice place to stay and I would Highly recommend it to others.

Yelp
This place is absolutely incredible! We were blown away by the service, the chef, and all of the high end finishes. This Victorian mansion was recently beautifully remodeled (take a look at their website since the pictures here look nothing like it) and the bed was ridiculously comfortable. It's right in the downtown of Napa and waking distance to the Oxbow market and lots of bars/restaurants. We had such a great experience we'll be making another trip to Napa just to stay here again. I would give more than five stars if I could.

Yelp
The Bed & Breakfast is beautiful! My boyfriend is not into the Victorian style, but I promised him a jacuzzi bath for two and this place had it! I love the antiques in this home so my eyes were delightfully pleased. We arrived and there were packets for the guest who would be staying that evening. I thought it was sweet. Inside was a free tasting coupon for two to V. Sattui (loved it!) as well as for Uncorked. Same owners of McClelland. *a note, keys, maps, other coupons, very nice little greeting. To open the door you have to turn the key AND the door knob at the same time. I looked a bit like a fool trying to get this open, so there's a small tip for you :D Our room (The Roma) was lovely. Afterwards we walked down the street to Uncorked and enjoyed free tastings with Celeste & her husband. Very nice couple. Loved the bed, super comfy; there was an iron in the wardrobe. Shampoo and Conditioner. Bring lotion and do not put bubbles in the jacuzzi! haha 5 star service. 5 star location. 4 stars on yelp because I was really looking forward to the breakfast. two courses, very yummy! but everything was sweet. It was too much sugar for me in the morning. We had a wonderful banana, strawberry pudding with whipped cream sprinkled with coconut and French toast. I kept wishing that some bacon would be delivered to my plate... Honestly, if I had bacon. FIVE STARS! Highly recommend this place! Would totally go back again even if I have to bring my own bacon!

Yelp
Spent the weekend there and it could not have been more perfect from arrival to departure. The house has been meticulously remodeled. Our room was spacious and the bed was so comfortable. Our breakfasts were delicious. The chef was amazing.

Yelp
The reason for selecting a Bed and Breakfast, instead of an equally priced Hotel, is there is supposed to be BREAKFAST SERVED ON SITE and personalized service. MOST other B&Bs, even not located in Napa (wine country), include a welcome and serve evening wine and cheese, upon arrival and the first evening... not here. This is really a shared AIR B&B We stayed at a much less pricy location and got WAY BETTER SERVICE. We are very disappointed and expected more due to the reputation and price: 1. I got locked in the bathroom 3 times. They NEED Maintenance!!! 2. There was no wine available at the WINE COUNTRY location. 3. There was NO WATER BOTTLES IN THE ROOM and no glasses! In case the owner didn't know, the weekend of our stay was the hottest weekend of the summer. I was very dehydrated. 4. There was an envelope (left outside for anyone to retrieve) with a key and a letter, which stated BREAKFAST IS PROMPTLY SERVED AT 9:00AM. We postponed our activities to get our breakfast included in our exorbitantly priced B&B and there was no bacon cooking at 8 or 9 or 9:15, when we finally called the owner. Uh, they didn't even know we were there and didn't plan breakfast!!!! 5. The owner seemed surprised that we were actually at his B&B. WOW! So anyway anyone can walk up and get your envelope and enter your place.

Yelp
Okay, here's my dilemma... Celeste, the owner of McClelland-Priest, was PHENOMENAL!! She is a hottie of a doll who cooks a kick ass breakfast and makes you feel special and at home. She also has great ideas if you feel confused as to planning your day. However, the decor of the B&B was too antiqueish for our tastes. This was our first time staying at a B&B so we didn't know what to expect....there are only 5 suites and all are named after Italian places and decorated in a style reminiscent of the early 1800's with a mix of some early European flair. The dilemma is that we tend to stay at hotels with a more modern and hip decor (not necessarily pricey...I just mean the vibe given by the hotel (hmm...I guess that's why Tori Spelling is doing a young version of B&B's...or so she was saying on her show). The B&B is not located w/in the wineries off the main road (I think 29) but it's not far either...perhaps a 5 minute drive to Carneros. So, we had a nice time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were delighted to have Celeste as a hostess with the mostess. But we just don't think B&B's are our thing....however if it's your thing I HIGHLY recommend this B&B and especially Celeste!!!
google avatar

Pat S.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and stay at this B&B. Celeste deserves every positive review she gets on this board -- she's super friendly, the staff at the wineries know and love her, her food is delicious, and she's gotta be the most shredded B&B proprietor in the world. With all that awesome food, I don't know how she stays in such fantastic shape, but damn. My wife and I also stayed in the enormous Roma suite, and yes, it was beautiful. Great for a romantic getaway. The entire place is done in a sort of 19th-century baroque look that matches the Victorian exterior. I love grandfather clocks, and they have a great one here. There's a wine reception each night around 6 where you can hang with the other guests. Celeste also has deals with many of the local wineries that will save you lots of money on tastings, so take that into account when booking a stay. Mucho props, we gotta get back!

Yelp
I started a yelp account just so I could review this place! My boyfriend and I stayed at the McClelland-Priest B&B this past weekend and I'd have to say that it was a great first time B&B experience. We stayed in the Roma Suite which included a huge bed, jacuzzi, and a small fireplace. I thought it was a very romantic and clean environment. The only thing I didn't like were the flowery bed sheets but that's just my preference. As the previous reviewer said, my favorite thing about this B&B was also the owner, Celeste. She's one of the nicest people you can meet and offered us some great discounts and coupons for many of the wineries (some were for free wine tasting for two!). The breakfast included yogurt with strawberries, bananas, and granola as the first course and a breakfast casserole made with eggs, herbs, and marinara sauce for the main course. Simple, but fresh and delicious! Celeste also suggested some great things for us to do in Napa and even helped us plan our weekend. She offers a wine and cheese tasting in the afternoon if you decide to stay at the B&B though we did not. Celeste really made our experience memorable and I would love to visit again.

Yelp
I don't know where to start. We came here on Labor Day weekend, and absolutely loved this B&B. I don't stay at B&Bs much - three to be exact, but this place has me wondering why I bother staying at hotels. When you first meet Celeste, you'll instantly love her - she's absolutely crazy, as the woman pouring my wine at the Mondavi Tasting Room said (free tasting when you present Celeste's card, otherwise $35). I have to agree. She's a drinking buddy, docent, concierge, and mom all rolled into one, and she seems to find time to teach a class while training for marathons. She hosts a wine reception in the evening for all the guests, where several bottles of several varietals are served with cheese, crackers and cured meats. Its a great opportunity to meet everyone, and it was a pleasure to chat her up (seems like everyone at the same time), while she drops nuggets of information to help plan your day of touring. Its important to mention that Celeste provide a packet of information useful during our stay. This included maps, and plenty of complimentary tasting cards, in addition to a list of local restaurants that recognized her guests as VIP. Very nice. The wine tasting alone during our stay would have totalled close to $180, had they not been comp'd by the B&B. This is a major saving, since the region started to charge for wine tastings in the last year or three. We stayed in the Carducci Master Suite. How suite it was, with the leather couch, smoking chair, massive bed, and the jacuzzi. I must say that I'm pretty particular with beds, and I could've slept all day in that one. Only thing I didn't like was the pair of dolls in the room. Vintage dolls are kind of spooky - I blame horror movies, and the fact that the heads can rotate a full 360. After a night on the bed, comes the breakfast part. Coffee was set in the living room, as we awaited our breakfast. We were treated to fresh fruits in yogurt to start, and followed by a heavy and delcious version of her french toast. The heaviness helped to pad our morning of winery tours - it helped tie us over for a late lunch. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This was one of the best experiences with travel accommodations I've ever had--and that includes hotels, condos, apartments, and B&Bs. We arrived on Sunday around 4:00 and easily found street parking right in front of the B&B. It was in a residential neighborhood so the area was very quiet, but it's a quick walk from main street. The innkeeper left us an envelope with our keys and information about Napa Valley which was very helpful, including wineries that offer discounts for guests. They also left us with complimentary tasting passes at Uncorked at Oxbow, a tasting room in downtown napa, also owned by the B&B owners. The house was beautiful and very tastefully decorated. It suited the Victorian era but wasn't old-fashioned or gaudy. They have one room downstairs and the others upstairs. They also have a carriage house. We stayed in the Firenze suite, the only room with a private balcony overlooking Downtown Napa's residences. Our room was spacious and the bathroom was well appointed. (Only downside were the bath products...the soap was very small, and crumbled in my hands too easily, and I wished there was a long mirror in the room, but there is one downstairs in the foyer.) There's no central air, but there is a window AC unit that cools down the room pretty quickly. No TV, but I would consider that an upside. There is a mini-fridge downstairs if you want to keep your drinks cool. We just used a portable cooler and put it in our bathtub. I definitely wanted to make sure we had time to experience breakfast the next morning so we rearranged our schedules for that. I wish it had been at 8:30 since most wineries open at 9:00. It would have been nice to get a head start. We met three other couples during breakfast from all over the country. The conversation was good. For breakfast, there was tea/coffee/orange juice, an upscale version of yogurt/fruit/granola, sausage, and quiche. It was so delicious! I would have loved to meet Celeste and thank her in person for the lovely accommodations!

Yelp
Very cute Victorian house located less than 5-minute away from downtown Napa. Though the house looks a little old on the outside, the inside is very classy and well-maintained by the owner, Celeste Carducci, and her crew. We arrived after check-in time (3:30PM) and found an envelope contained a letter explaining how things work, a booklet about the various places to go in Napa, a map, and a paper attached to the letter granting a complimentary bottle of wine from their tasting room right across the river, Uncorked. We stayed at the only room downstairs, the Carducci, right near the dining room. The room itself is big, but the high ceiling made it feel even bigger. There is a long leather sofa, a leather chair near the fireplace, and a huge king-size bed (shown in one of the pictures). The bathroom is decorated all in white, which made it look clean. There was a whirl pool in the bath, so make good use of it :p There were lots of pictures, some of which are super old, hanging on the wall or placed on the shelves. The heater seems to be always on, which is nice since it was pretty cold when we were there. Every morning we would wake up to the smell of food and coffee and some noise. Be warned, if you like to sleep in late and cannot sleep through noise, pick another room! Breakfast was different the two days we were there. We always start with a plate of fresh fruit with yogurt, almonds, granola, and a swirl of whip cream. The first day we had french toast, with lots of syrup, and the second day it was egg souffle with corn and potato, which was rather unique. My only complain is that the walls here are really thin, and the bed is old so it makes noises even when you turn while sleeping. We were seriously concerned that the bed may collapse in the middle of the night. All in all it was a great experience, and I would definitely come back again!

Yelp
Celeste is an amazing hostess, and should win an award for her service. She and I exchanged probably 30 emails, and she was gracious enough to set up a late arrival package for my husband and I. We only stayed one night, but were very pleased with the location of this b&b. The B&B is about 2 blocks from the center of town, and has ample on street parking. The rooms are older, and without central air, so if you come in on a hot day you will want to turn on the AC as soon as possible. My husband and I stayed in the Puccini suite, which is all pink - you are warned :) It still is precious, has it's own bathroom with jacuzzi tub and fireplace. There is wine tasting in the tea room downstairs in the afternoons, and water available at any time. The morning breakfast was amazing, and Celeste shared her knowledge of the different vineyards we all should visit. Plus, if you show her business card, you will gain free access to many local vineyards. HOWEVER - Judd's Hill was listed as one of the vineyards you get free tastings too, and they did not accept her card. They said someone did this the weekend before us as well. The people at Judd's hill were incredibly kind, and we decided to stay anyway (and bought their wine)

Yelp
I think all small businesses (heck, any business) should take a page from Celeste's book of hospitality and graciousness! Three friends and I stayed at the inn a few months ago in the room downstairs (I forget the name). It was absolutely gorgeous! When we first arrived, Celeste left us a package at the door with an entire guide to EVERYTHING. It had the keys along with brochures, maps, recommendations, etc. for everything in Napa and Sonoma. We walked in and felt right at home. The decor was so welcoming and cozy. It immediately brought a smile to our faces. We put our things down and went out for some wine-tasting. And when we returned, she had laid out a full cheese plate and 3 bottles of wine in the piano room for us to "unwind". A few other guests joined us, as we talked about our day of wine tasting and soaking in Napa. It was so laid back and fun! We slept very peacefully that night...the bed in the room was extremely comfy. The next morning, Celeste had a hot (full) breakfast ready for us to start our day. Yogurt with granola and French toast - very yummy. All in all, we had a fabulous time from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Thanks for being such a gracious host, Celeste!

Yelp
We are nit-picky. Celeste is very nice and helpful. She has many wine connections, and can offer discounts, insight, tips, and knowledge about wine and area restaurants. She and Bruce have their own winery, and you get free tastings through Celeste. They hosted a 6pm wine reception the night we stayed. They served not one bottle of their own wine. The dirty glasses and leftover food were still sitting around in the morning. Breakfast was OK, food was good, but the serving was not clear. It was unclear when the first plate came out if that was all or if there was more. Dishes were not explained. We were told coffee would be available at 8, it wasn't till closer to 9. Please note that coffee is important to us (I roast my own beans) We stayed in the Puccini suite. The bathroom was in the room but down a couple steps. There was no place to put any of your toiletry items. Hand towels were on a towel bar, away from the sink, bath towels were folded and far away from the shower with no place to put them near the shower. The towels were in poor condition. I prefer them nice, large and fluffy. The room was spacious and clean. The furniture should be re-arranged. There were two comfortable chairs, they were not placed well for conversation. No bedside tables, nowhere to put your things. Beautiful looking, not at all practical. Some other B&B's we've stayed at provide more of a feeling of a home than the McClelland-Priest B&B. It's not a bad place to stay, just not the best.

Yelp
We stayed 3 days at this B&B - fabulous. It's location is just perfect - walking distance from downtown Napa (stellar restaurants and tasting rooms) with plenty of easy/free parking. It;s only a few miles from St. Helena's vineyards. Celeste provided maps, tasting routes, and guest passes upon our arrival. Had the Tuscany, private carriage house attached. Large 3 rooms, AC, huge jacuzze tub, fireplace, patio for star gazing, traditional lavish Italian decor, and our own entrance. No chance I'll stay anywhere else. Celeste has Napa's respect as a B&B renovater with the highest standards, a hostess to anyone visiting wine country, and a vintner herself! Summary - ideal location, marvelous decor, and the best reputation among the wineries.

Yelp
My first review ever - bear with me! My boyfriend and I just spent our anniversary weekend here! It was our first experience staying at a bed and breakfast and everything went as smoothly as possible! We arrived at around 4pm on Friday, and there was an envelope with the keys, complimentary tasting voucher, maps, and booklet inside. We stayed in the Carducci Suite, which was on the first floor. It was well-decorated, spacious, and relaxing! The jacuzzi was a definite plus! The next morning, we came back in time for breakfast after our hot air balloon ride and boy am I glad we did! The breakfast that Celeste made was delicious - the first course was a yogurt parfait and second course was a breakfast toast casserole (toast with eggs and marinara sauce), it tasted like a lasagna! YUM! We also had a wonderful conversation about running and marathons. The second morning's breakfast was served by Maria, which was also delicious, first course was again the yogurt parfait, and the second course was the BEST french toast I've ever had! I wish I Celeste was around so I could get the recipe! It was awesome meeting people from all over the country and sharing our experiences with Napa and the various activities. Overall, this experience was very enjoyable - perfect place for a romantic weekend getaway, Celeste was a great hostess and chef! (I hope you get into Nike Women's one of these years!)

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed here for our anniversary, and we couldn't have picked a better place! The inn is adorable in every way, decorated with vintage furniture and antiques, with a long staircase and a lovely dining room. It's easy to imagine this as the home of some old money, late 1800s Napa family! We stayed in the Firenze Suite, which I really recommend - it's the only one with a private deck! The jacuzzi tub was another plus, and the room in general was really comfortable. I definitely recommend walking around the house, though - there are a few porch swings that were really nice to relax and talk in. I have to mention the location: it's one of the best parts of this B&B! It's no more than a 3 minute drive to the Napa waterfront, which is packed with nice restaurants and cute shops. I definitely recommend The Pear Southern Bistro: it's reasonably priced, and the Po Boy was the best I've ever had! And the breakfast Celeste made - it's been said in other reviews but I must reiterate - was delicious. The first course was a fruit parfait, and the second was an amazing french toast. Celeste's a great hostess and a wonderful chef! If you're planning to stay at a B&B in Napa, this is truly the one to pick. It was a great experience!

Yelp
My husband and I ventured out to napa after our wedding, before heading overseas for our honeymoon. This was my first bed and breakfast experience and i was NOT disappointed. As mentioned in other reviews, Celeste is super friendly and was very helpful in helping us in getting ourselves situated. the breakfast is served with everyone around a huge table. the breakfast was delicious. We stayed at the puccini suite The rooms are a bit old but clean. She has a list of wineries that will give you discounts of various kinds with her card. Coppola gave us the full tasting + a tour for free. Hagafen (which ended up being my favorite small winery) also gave us three free tastings. i was sad we didnt get to visit uncorked. we'd definitely be back here if we're ever in the area.

Yelp
We stayed at McClellan Priest B&B while visiting the Napa Area. We had a lovely stay in the beautiful Historic Victorian. home. The homemade breakfast were delicious and the hosts were delightful and very engaging. We would definitely recommend this home.

Yelp
It seems almost too easy to add another 5-star review to the list, but this wonderful B&B really deserves it. Starting with the rooms: each one has its own unique theme that make it feel luxurious and special. Ours was the Roma suite, which was large with a high ceiling and window alcove (love those!). The decor was authentically Victorian, but with important modern upgrades like wireless internet, jacuzzi tub, and air conditioning. Pretty much the best of both worlds. The most important thing was the sense of care and hospitality that fills the house. You can see it in the extra touches such as the beautiful antiques, the afternoon wine and cheese socials, and the tasting passes to local wineries. We loved this place, and we'll definitely be going back.

Yelp
I don't even know where to start. First, the location. Right in the center of downtown napa, close to anywhere you want to go. The stay; interior is just as you see in the pictures. Excellent, clean with great ambience. People; Just wonderous. I forget the name of the lady that owns the place, sorry, it's been a few months, but she went out of her way to get us settled and feel welcomed. Great communication and had no problems what so ever. Food; without a doubt, the best food ever eaten at a hotel. It was made specifically for the people staying at the hotel and wow, I felt like a royal prince. Definitely recommend as a must stay hotel if you're going wine tasting in napa. Will be definitely going back!

Yelp
I have nothing to say that others haven't already said. Outstanding value, terrific breakfast, Celeste, Celeste, Celeste, etc.

Yelp
My boyfriend won MAJOR brownie points after surprising me with a quick Friday night get-away to this bed and breakfast. Our suite, the Roma suite, was well appointed, and Celeste, the inn keeper, is FABULOUS. Seriously...she is awesome! If you are thinking about staying in Napa, look no further!

Yelp
Very nice experience. Clean and well cared for, 2-course breakfast is well done and presented, and the location is great (within walking distance to downtown). Definitely would recommend if you desire something different than a standard hotel.

Yelp
Booked this place because it was near the Uptown Theater in Napa and it had great reviews. We weren't disappointed. Celeste was an awesome host and the breakfast was great. If there's an act you just have to see playing at the theater, this place is walking distance away. Even if there isn't, it's right near downtown. We had the outside room and it was just fine. Compared to prices of other places in the area, it was more than reasonable. The group we had breakfast with was eclectic and interesting. (from all over the country). I guess word has gotten around. Next time there's a concert I want to see at the Uptown, I'll be staying here.

Yelp
I may be biased about this place since this is where my husband proposed to me back in 2006=) When we came it happened to be a very rainy and stormy weekend and the owner had several cancellations. Out of pure kindness she upgraded our room from the verdi to the carducci which ended up be an amazing room especially for a proposal! I have very found memories of that weekend and I look forward to when we can budget to stay at this hotel again to relive the memories. On a side note the owner was also very kind and gave us detailed information on wine tours and even gave us coupons for upgrades in tastings. The breakfast is also yummy as is the "happy hour spread."

Yelp
We had a late check in and everyone was very accommodating. My wife is Vegan and Celeste was more than happy to prepare an alternative breakfast for her. What a great location and great host! We also took advantage of there partnership with uncorked, which is walking distance from the B and B

Yelp
Celeste really knows how to take care of her guests! Her B&B is super cute, the breakfasts are great and she is really friendly and full of great advice. My boyfriend and I stayed 3 nights in the Firenze room which was really nice. It has a private patio with a nice view and a great bathroom with jacuzzi tub. The B&B is in walking distance to everything, including Celeste's wine bar, Uncorked. I would definitely recommend staying here!

Yelp
Lovely gracious Victorian, delightful and caring hosts, walking distance to restaurants, wine tasting and shopping, quiet street perfect for sleep and delicious food. What more would you ever want for a perfect get away?

Yelp
What an amazing Bed and Breakfast! From the moment my wife and I arrived we felt as if we were at home. Celeste and Bruce are two of the gracious people that you will ever meet. The Bed and Breakfast is within walking distance to Downtown Napa and the incredible Oxbow Market. Without a doubt, this is the place to stay when exploring Napa Valley!

Yelp
After much searching online, my husband and I came across M-P, and due to the prices and pictures, we booked it...hoping for the best. We got more than we could have asked for. Celeste was an amazing host and a phenomenal cook. We got great advice (and some vouchers) for wineries to visit. The B&B was a highlight of our trip! Confirming what we thought, we later found out that friends of ours had stayed at M-P years earlier and had the same impression. We'd stay there again and recommend it anyone!

Yelp
Beautiful victorian mansion with unusually large bedroom suites They are all different, some with jacuzzi tubs. I believe all have fireplaces. Exquisite furnishings, and Celeste is the unofficial mayor of Napa (everyone knows her). Be sure to get her advice on where to go, what to eat, and who to see.If you have any issues with your room (like you can't figure out how to turn on the shower), be sure to ask. We will definately be coming back!

Yelp
Our first B&B experience and it was amazing from the ambiance to the delicious breakfast. We stayed in the very spacious Carducci suite which had a decor from the early 1900s. The only wish was for the fireplace to be available for our use. It wasn't working or at least it wasn't setup for use. We didn't need it for warmth as the heater was more than adequate for the room. I would recommend this place for anyone.

Yelp
We stayed at M-P for the second time in mid-June and there is a good reason that we returned. Celeste is a first class B&B owner. Her warm personality is such a great trait. Her wide knowledge of the area is spectacular. She gives first person reviews and suggestions based on her guests' preferences. She has unlimited acquaintances in the wine country and provides you with the key to planning an experience taking your needs into consideration. Last trip, we stayed in the Roma Suite and this time we were in the Verdi. We have nothing but praise for the accommodations and give her an A+ for breakfast! We are looking forward to another visit - next time during harvest.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for a week during our honeymoon a year ago. It was so wonderful that, even a year later, I had to come back and write a review. (I can't believe it took me this long!) What won't take me long to decide? Choosing McClelland-Priest for all of our future visits to Napa! I have attempted to recreate the mouth-watering baked french toast breakfast we received, but mine never turns out as amazing as Celeste's. The room was huge with beautiful high ceilings. Celeste made our first dive into the world of wine easy and fun. My hubby and I are big on picnics and Celeste let us keep our personal food in her fridge. (Came in handy with all the great cheese we were able to come home with!) If you are looking for more than your basic hotel "friendlies", stay here! Wake up to fresh coffee, amazing food, great advice and lots of wine! Not to mention a SUPER yummy chocolate cake left in our room to wish us off!
