The Menjangan by LifestyleRetreats (Bali, Indonesia) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"There are a few ways to do Bali. The most common involves the southern settlements, the villages and towns along the more populous south coast, and a close second is Ubud, the inland artists’ colony. But it’s hard not to see the appeal of the alternative version offered by Menjangan Resort, on a very isolated stretch of beach in the West Bali National Park, on the far northwestern corner of the island. The holy grail, for beach resorts, is the desert-island experience, and Menjangan comes awfully close." - Tablet Hotels

We ❤️ The Menjangan! Best part of our trip to Bali. We booked 4 nights and once we arrived and settled in we added another 3. Calm and quiet, amongst nature (we are from NZ so this feels like a different nature-fuelled home from home). Super clean area in the park. Love the ease of organising activities (did the day snorkel and the guided walk where we saw a massive black squirrel!) and the little touches to the room and turn down service really left a positive memory. Love the beer stubby holders, would loved to have bought some if you sold them. 😍. For a relaxing eco-tourism stay, this is the place to be. Would definitely stay again.

I loved my stay here. First, the staff were great - I felt very comfortable and welcome at all times. My room was very comfortable and the service is great. The location is amazing. It’s a four hour drive from the airport but the trip takes you through some really beautiful parts of Bali that are very different from the south. The trip to Ubud was also close to four hours but there were some great places to stop on the way. There are limited choices in restaurants but the ones available are good. The snorkelling was fantastic and there is a lot of wildlife in the park. One of the nicest spots I’ve been, will definitely return.

Such a special place. The Menjangan Resort offers the perfect escape if you're looking to disconnect and recharge for a few days. The entire resort is set inside a protected area, surrounded by nature, and it truly feels like you’ve stepped out of the real world for a while. There’s so much to do — snorkeling from the jetty, horseback riding, relaxing on the beach, or just enjoying the peace and quiet in your room nestled in the forest. One of the best parts is the safari-style taxis that take you between the different areas of the resort — they’re free, arrive quickly, and the drivers are always super kind and helpful. Everyone we met was incredibly friendly, and the vibe is very calm and easygoing. Whether you’re traveling as a couple, with family, or even solo, it’s definitely worth spending a few days here. Nature, comfort, and genuine hospitality all in one.

We had the perfect trip to The Menjangan! My husband’s colleague had stayed here previously and told us about it, otherwise we might have missed this beautiful piece of paradise untouched. We visited for 3 nights in the middle of our 12 night trip to Bali and called it our vacation from vacation. Immediately upon arrival the open air lodge like lobby is a welcome reprieve from the busy Bali streets. The staff so welcoming and helpful and there are shuttles (in safari like vehicles, highly recommend the top deck!) to and from the rooms, restaurants and even other properties within the National park. Happy Hour on the 5th deck watching sunset is one of the best spots we’ve ever watched a sunset and simply unforgettable. The Balinese BBQ dinner was delicious and the dancing was so interesting. The rooms are simple but huge, and the outdoor washroom is amazing! And sitting on the deck in front of our room watching the tide roll out and a group of 7 deer frolic and swim while the monkeys play on the shore was a highlight of the trip for sure. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed it here and would recommend experiencing this NW natural beauty to anyone!

All of the above are so true. The staff cannot do enough for you and the room is perfect, very anti bug too. In a Balinese style the tower, rooms fit in to the area. It is very peaceful, calming and quiet. The food is excellent, prepared fresh and is hot. I went snorkelling, which I can highly recommend and kayaking around the bay which as great. The massages are very good and perfect to relax you. The view from the Tower is fantastic although the weather was cloudy so we couldn’t see a sunset. Although we did encounter deers and monkeys on the beach while eating breakfast.

If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would. This hotel is one of those rare places where everything feels perfectly thought out — as if they had gathered every piece of feedback ever written about any hotel in the world and turned it into reality. The staff? Incredibly kind and genuinely attentive. It’s not just polite service — it’s heartfelt hospitality that makes you feel truly welcome. The attention to detail borders on obsessive, in the best possible way. Nothing is left to chance, and every corner reflects care and thoughtfulness. But the real highlight is the surrounding nature. It’s not something that can be described — it has to be lived. The way the hotel is immersed in its environment creates an atmosphere that’s impossible to capture in words. My advice? Stay at least two nights. One simply isn’t enough to absorb the full experience. And trust me — leaving won’t be easy

We stayed at this hotel for three wonderful nights.||We stayed in Monsoon Lodge and the room was large and very close to the lovely pool, surrounded by lush vegetation. ||We saw SO much wildlife, whilst in the National Park and, one morning, even saw a coppersmith barbet in a tree next to the breakfast area.||Unfortunately, for the duration of our stay, the Bali Tower Bistro was not open for evening meal and so we had to get the free transport down to the Pantai Restairant by the beach. The food here was wonderful and one evening we were even visited by a luwak !||It is on the subject of transportation, however, that the only negative falls. Given that this is an ecolodge, dedicated to maintaining the pristine nature of the National Park, we were REALLY surprised that the hotel's vehicles are petrol-driven and not EVs, powered by solar-panel driven charging stations. What a missed opportunity !
