I've never written a review on here before, but after reading what the one dissatisfied customer had to say, I had to. I live on a neighbor island, and recently spent a week on Maui. The Mercantile was by far my favorite boutique on the island.
The prices are high, but that is because you are paying for beautiful, quality crafted pieces by James Perse, Chan Luu, Burning Torch, and the like. There were some absolutely incredible quilts from India that I am still dreaming about. One day my bed will sport a $600 quilt, I swear!!
The sales girls were nice, and yes, even nicer to customers who came in who looked like they were ready to drop some serious dough. That's how it works in sales!!!
Their offerings were very edited, but you want almost all of it. Gorgeous, simple, merchandising. Chances are, if you're the kind of informed shopper who is looking for a beautiful boutique on Maui, you've already heard of the Mercantile, and won't be swayed by the one bad review. Know your product before you write a review people!!!
