Stop #2 in the Reverb building for my wife’s birthday. It had been a long time since we visited, but we had a great night here for our second ever visit. The cocktails on the menu we ordered were outstanding, and we then ordered favorites (espresso and dirty martini) that delivered. It’s a small and intimate space with one of the best views in the city. A must for special occasions. Photos are a must!

Google
Definitely one of the most upscale bars I’ve been to! It’s a sister bar of the Monarch Bar so if you’re fond of Monarch you’ll like The Mercury Room! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable when it came to the drinks!

Google
Such a vibe! It is a much smaller place than I had originally thought so be serious about booking a reservation in advance! The bartenders were helpful & the drinks were delicious. I would recommend going in the evening, when it’s dark because it sets the mood even more.

The Mercury Room is an absolute hidden gem. From the moment you step out of the elevator, you're greeted by floor-to-ceiling windows offering a mesmerizing panorama of twinkling city lights in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri. The space is masterfully designed and offers an intimate atmosphere perfect for small groups & quiet conversations. The real magic happens behind the bar, where the mixologists hones their craft and as a result, creates some of the most innovative cocktails I've ever seen. Aaron kept us company, and we marveled at his skills behind the bar. It was such a pleasure to watch him in action and even more enjoyable to experience our own cocktails. He took the time to understand our preferences and made thoughtful recommendations throughout the evening. The intimate setting ensures that this level of personalized attention never wavers. Between the carefully curated playlist humming softly in the background, the subtle lighting that makes everyone look their best, and the sophisticated yet unpretentious crowd, The Mercury Room manages to strike that perfect balance between elegance and comfort. It's the kind of place where you can spend hours watching the sunset fade into the cityscape while sipping expertly crafted cocktails, feeling like you're part of something special. The Mercury Room definitely made my evening in particular feel extremely special. It was my fortieth birthday... I look forward to my next visit!

Google
Views were out of this world. We came at 5:30 pm. I can imagine the evening views would be beautiful. Drinks were delicious. The bartender made an awesome smoky Old Fashioned. Their menu changes about every 6 months and the bartender said the new menu would be out around the end of October or sometime in November. I’d love to go back and try their completely new menu when it comes out. Definitely worth checking out at least once if you’re in KC.

Went to the outdoor rooftop patio this time and had it to ourselves. A fantastic view with the as-expected quality and unique drink offerings they’re known for. We were able to walk in and actually be seated fairly close to opening time, which isn’t always expected but good to see.

Google
My time at The Mercury Room only solidifies my love for the trio that this bar is a part of! I was able to sample six different cocktails during my reservation (as a party). We were sat indoors. The seating is comfortable and very aesthetic. The menu is clear and our service was wonderful. They were very polite about when our reservation ended and never made us feel rushed. I highly suggest making a reservation as the space fills up quickly!

Google
The coolest place I've been to in KC yet. They do an amazing job at creating an atmosphere for you, and the location is perfect. It has a great view of downtown. The drinks are great and the menu is extensive. The bartender was friendly, did an excellent job with the drinks, and he was very helpful. It is a great place for a date night. Also great for taking pictures. We will definitely be returning. 10/10!

Yelp
Terrible service. It's the size of an XL storage unit, therefore, it shouldn't take that long. Max ~26 seats in there. The two employees were taking shots amongst themselves. It took 10-15 minutes to wave them down for us to order another drink. Incredibly rude and unfriendly. Drinks are $15-$40 a piece. They charge you $1 for ice in a beverage. ***Watch your check at the end.*** They automatically charge you 20% "hospitality" aka gratuity (we had 4 people on one tab) and they gave us a tablet to approve a 20% (additional) tip without showing us an itemized check. Thankfully I knew something was up and asked for an itemized ticket. Clear as day shows they already charged us 20% grat. Tried a 40% tip. I will never go back or recommend this place to anyone. Ever!!!

Yelp
Mercury room was delicious. Staff made me some off menu drinks which was much appreciated. They were kind and quick. I would not recommend the cauliflower small bite though, there was no flavor.

Yelp
An intimate bar located on the 14th floor of a residential building. Visited early evening without a reservation before the sunset but plan to visit again because the views of the skyline are probably spectacular. If you're looking for a cocktail experience, highly recommend.

Yelp
Pretty cool spot if you are looking for a night cap with a great view! All the cocktails were interesting and fantastic! Worth checking it out on a nice date night but make sure you get reservations a week or two in advance.

Yelp
I think I found my new favorite drink! Only problem? It's three hours away at the The Mercury Room in Kansas City. Looks like I'll just need to make another trip soon! The atmosphere in this 14th floor bar is the absolutely perfect way to start a night out or end the night watching the lights in the city. The Apogee is a drink I will never forget and just like the bartender said the Kyoto was like an Espresso Martini, except was better!

Yelp
OMG, what a beautiful place! It's at the top of a building overlooking downtown KC. Stunning! We stopped at Bar Medici first (also amazing). The drinks aren't cheap (but the good ones never are). The service was great and my friend and I had a great afternoon here! I'm sure it gets quite busy during the weekend nights (and most likely a younger crowd), but we really enjoyed our visit here. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
We came here on a whim at the end of the night. It definitely has that starry eye effect and quite a beautiful view inside. We didn't have reservations but only waited about 15 minutes on a Friday night. Once we got upstairs, we were immediately helped by Chase who was super knowledgeable about the menu and providing recommendations. A lot of the cocktails are crafted very carefully and some experimental so worth trying something you don't usually go for! It's located on a higher level in the building and made for a great view. Definitely check the dress code as there is one! More of a start or end to the night.

Yelp
Great drinks and the view and atmosphere are amazing! Highly recommend for a date night. The only thing I wish they had were some light snacks

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful inside!! classy upscale apartment cocktail bar... a great place to chill, drink, and talk with friends. It was on the expensive side but service was excellent even after we overstayed our welcome slightly haha. don't come here if you're looking for a party.

Yelp
My sister was visiting in town from LA so I had to take her to The Mercury Room to get her the best views of KC!! For those that haven't been, you need to reserve this place ahead of time (pretty easy to do online) and you have to pay $20 per person ahead which will later go into your tab. The bar is at the top floor of the reverb apartments and it has amazing floor to ceiling windows that give you a great view of the skyline. I've been during the day and night and I 100% recommend going at night as they have lighting that looks a lot better. The room itself is pretty small , we sat at the bar. If you're anywhere in the room, you will still have a nice view. They have a unique drink menu, I got the Kwerk which was honestly my favorite drink (was a bit sour which I liked). Drinks are $20 each which is the pricier side for KC but it is worth it for the experience!

Yelp
We had a nice intimate time at the Mercury room. Know that your slots are timed but the servers never feel pushy. I can't remember our servers name, but she was very knowledgeable about the drink menu and made great suggestions. She also put together an amazing playlist!! The view is cute, cute place to take pictures. Make sure it go at night. Try during the week when it's less crowded. I think we went on a Wednesday. Overall we had a good time. It can be a bit pricey just for drinks, but you're paying for the location and view.

Yelp
Setting: The Mercury Room is a celestial, magical spot for drinks! Come here if you want to feel like you're surrounded by starlight! The bar is located on the 14th floor. The setting is breathtaking. The ceiling is painted dark and strung with layers and layers of three types of lights. Most of the walls are floor-to-ceiling mirrored, the tables are reflective, and the large windows look out onto the Kansas City skyline. All this results in a stunning, sparkling, night sky effect. Drinks: Everyone gets started with a palate cleanser. The main drink menus and seasonal menus rotate. The menus are organized by increasing "booziness". Drinks are pricey at $25 each but are elevated with incredible ingredients and unique combinations. The reservation deposit goes to drinks. The cost of the drinks includes gratuity. There is an option for a $75 3-course cocktail menu and $5 coffee and tea is also on the menu. Last thing to note - if you don't like something, the staff will gladly make another free of charge! Food: The Mercury Room does not have food to order. Staff: Professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. We were very impressed by everyone who served us! They definitely deserve the gratuity included with drink pricing. Reservations: Up to 6 guests and lasts 1 hour and 45 minutes. Reservation requires a $20 deposit per person ($75 per person if electing for the 3-course cocktail menu) that goes to your drinks. Reservation must be canceled at least 24 hours before the reservation or you will lose your deposit. For the best views and comfort, I recommend floor seating over bar seating! Dress code: Per the website, "Smart Business Casual attire required. Gentlemen must have a button-down shirt with collar, or a jacket, long pants, and closed toe shoes. Ripped jeans, athletic wear, ball caps, beanies, t-shirts, or hoodies are not permitted for entry under any circumstances."

Yelp
Yes! This place is awesome. My boyfriend took me here for our anniversary and we had such a great time. The drinks are all $20 and I would say they are all totally worth it. I had a banana drink with date cold foam that was insane and an Asian pear drink that was incredibly delicious. It is a little small in there and hard to get a reservation, so definitely book out! Our server was great and you can see the whole city through the window. We went early, so it was light outside. It seems like it might be even better at night, so maybe try to book later, but it was beautiful nonetheless.

Yelp
It's cute but soooooo small it just a great place for some fun mixology cocktail and hit somewhere else. Heat for photos as well. Not a fan of the servers at all.

Yelp
What an absolute gem. This has easily become one of my favorite places in Kansas City. I've had my eye on this place for quite some time now but was always unable to get a reservation. On a random Thursday night I looked to see if there were any reservations available just for fun, and lo and behold, there was a spot for 2 open later that evening. And, it was for floor seating! The fee to secure the reservation was $30/person, but this payment goes toward the final bill. When we arrived, we checked in with a gentleman at the front desk on the first floor before being escorted into an elevator that brought us up directly to the bar. There we were immediately greeted by our server/hostess, who brought us to our private little seating area. She was helpful explaining all the drinks and recommending ones that suited our taste. We ordered 2 cocktails - the Crescendo and Illusion. The Crescendo was my favorite of the two, but both were very nicely curated. We also received a palate cleanser, which was very refreshing. I liked the palate cleanser as a drink itself, although I'm not sure it's supposed to be enjoyed as one. The attention to detail was immaculate, which was shown in both the taste and presentation of the drinks. Each cocktail is $30, but that reservation fee paid upfront covered each drink. Now the best part was the view and interior design. You get a spectacular view of downtown KC, and it's beautiful at night with all the lights. They have an outdoor rooftop area as well where you can see that same downtown view. The interior is decorated with lights that mimic the stars in the sky. Everything here, the drinks, the music, the view, and service, was perfect. I would recommend this place to everyone!

Yelp
Upscale bar, ambience was beautiful. Bartender was very attentive and helpful with selecting the drinks. Drinks were amazing. Perfect for date nights, late night drinks. I would recommend to go during the day and at night to see the great view of Kansas City downtown and the lights inside the room. You can walk in between 3pm and 5pm only without making any reservations and after that, you will have to make a reservation. Secondly, keep in mind that you will have to park on the street. Lastly, the drinks were were tasty and creative, but a tad pricey at $25/drink.

Yelp
Super cute!!! Such an intimate little bar in the stars! The theme is wonderful. Love the drink names. The star lights above make it so pretty. It's located on the 14th floor. It only has 2 large couches, 2 couples table, maybe 6 seats at the bar, and 2 standing spots. Reservations highly recommended. Awesome views. 2 servers. Got the arcturus and uva. Drinks are listed in order of light to bold. Very good drinks. They were about $20 per drink. There is an outdoor terrace with nice views. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Jocelyn was very helpful at the front desk, she did an amazing job definitely will be coming back 5/5

Yelp
So this is a tough one. I'm giving both stars for "the stars". Its truly 5 star decor and view. But its a bar. I have to grade it as such. It's a gorgeous tiny bar/lounge. Like something out of Vegas or New York City. It looks cooler in photos than in person, I think because its So Much smaller than it appears in pictures. Seating for maybe 30, max? The mirrors and large windows with the lit up ceiling reflecting off of everything makes it look bigger in pictures. But what space they do occupy is beautiful. The ceiling lights are so pretty with those huge floor to ceiling windows with a downtown view. You do get an out of this world feel. And everything is covered in mirror so the whole room reflects. It's stunning. But it looks like a large living room turned bar. It's that small. We came for my son's birthday (with his girlfriend and best friend from Houston) for drinks and to enjoy the company and conversation. But it didn't feel like a good place for that. There was little conversation. It felt quite pretentious, and I like "in" and expensive but there was just an "air" about the room that wasn't comfortable. Money is a non issue so I'm all for high end, but this vibe was not for us. I could also tell some people seem to come for the photo opps and it's distracting.., Unlike us who only took a few pics, with flash off, the night we were here there was Non stop girls posing, with some flashing phones reflecting off the window. This one group of 4-5 girls (in dresses 2 sizes too small...which seemed to be a common theme there) spent 30 minutes taking pictures of each other in all sorts of poses. It was funny to watch at times but I didn't choose the place to watch silly amateur instagram photo shoots. Like I said. Distracting for this fancy, small space. I was surprised the staff let that go on. So we only stayed for the one outrageously expensive drink ($138 for 5 drinks) And none of us really loved our drinks. Nothing on the menu sounded that good so I finally ordered one that seemed best for my taste. We all had a hard time deciding yet felt rushed to order. That was frustrating especially given the price to be there. Then most of us left our glasses half full. I'm sure we could have had the bar make up whatever we wanted, which is what we should have done. I normally would go talk to the bartender but in this case it didn't feel comfortable to even ask to do so. It looks like the menu changes so that's a good thing. Pay attention to the pictures. The tables aren't what you think as "bar tables" A table is two couches with a coffee table between them. Comfortable yes, but harder to hold a conversation (especially with the 3 guests sitting across from you) The music was a bit loud for that seating. Other sitting option was the bar, if you have 3 or less in your party. But, After seeing the bar seats they look terribly uncomfortable. Hard clear plastic. I'm not sure how many but it looks like less than 10 bar seats. You can only go in with a reservation at your reserved spot exactly when they are ready for you to Sit. It just feels so "stiff". We were 10 minutes early for our reservation and the waiting was strange. ( Its a small entrance area on the first floor of an office building by the elevator) It was pouring rain outside so we all needed the bathroom to dry off. We had to take the elevator, escorted, to the top floor where the bar is but couldn't go in afterward to wait for our table even thought it was past 9 o'clock, our reservation time. You literally can not go in unless the spot for your bottom is ready for you. And there is enough room to stand in there for a few minutes to wait. It's not like they let just anyone go up with standing room only. But they have their way I guess. Also, after using the bathroom you have to go back down to be escorted back up for your reservation. Just strange. Too bad I'll never go back. It was a beautiful place with potential if they didn't try this hard to be so uppity exclusive. I wouldn't mind a redo of our photos without the rain though. It is very beautiful/unique space Just not worth the atmosphere/stuffy vibe and high price drinks

Yelp
Showed up on Friday night around 10pm without a rez and they were able to get us onto the patio. It would have been cool to be in the building with all the twinkling lights, but the patio was fab too. Cocktails are pricey, but the view is amazing and the service is friendly. The music they were playing (rap with a lot of cuss words) didn't quite fit the vibe of the place, but overall it was a fun/mellow end to our night on the town.

Yelp
our first time going to this spot and it was beautiful. it was a bit smaller than i expected as it didn't fit as many people as i would hope. there were two 2 seated table, 2 4-6 couches/table, and a bar that seats 6. cocktails were great, we tried 3 different cocktails. i tried aurora. aurora was good, bubbly and sweet. we would come back with a group to sit on the couches!

Yelp
Let me preface this review by saying I'm in my 20s and my friends and I are the type of people who love taking pictures (as I've seen lots of hate from other reviews for this exact thing haha). We came here for a birthday celebration and had a great experience! Our drinks were strong and tasty! Everyone was pleased with their drinks. The bartenders came over and asked us what types of drinks we liked and then made recommendations based off of that (margarita, fruity and light drinks, old fashioned, espresso martinis). There are a lot of ingredients listed on the menu that I couldn't really taste, so don't be worried about hating it--you may be let down if you want to taste more quinoa or pepper in your drink. I had a light soda soju drink that was so refreshing and then had a yube purple drink that was like an old fashioned. We are excited to come back in the evening and see all the lights lit up, but we also thought it was definitely worth visiting in the daylight too. It really is smaller than we had originally pictured with beautiful tall ceilings and lots of mirrors. I personally loved the ambiance--it felt more intimate and we could actually have conversations together. The drinks are expensive--but really just big city prices. The cost covers the experience more than anything. We each got 2 drinks ($40/a person) and had no issues with the time limit, bill, etc.

Yelp
Wow, wow, wow! For sure this is an experience! Entering the building, we were greeted by a very professional concierge who got us checked-in. Elevator up to the roof and exit the doors to be greeted by a 2nd concierge. Our experience was explained as a 3 Custom Cocktail experience with drinks designed with your favorite spirit in mind. My spirit of choice was Bourbon. All 3 drinks were unique in flavor profile and definitely packed a punch. The 3rd Cocktail, which came with a spoonful of coffee pearls as an enhancement, was my favorite. I appreciated that our mixologist asked for feedback with each "course". The decor is delicious and gives you elevated and sophisticated vibe. 4 instead of 5 because of the Tapas which came with the Cocktails. Not very well thought out and didn't add to the experience, but rather took away. I'd suggest rethinking this part. Overall, a great time, would certainly go again.

Yelp
This coveted cocktail bar is quickly making a name for itself in downtown Kansas City. A romantic, sophisticated atmosphere is complimented by starry lights and mirrored walls that give an illusion of warping space and time. This elevated environment requires cocktail attire and reservations in advance. Reservations open in one month increments, so book for a weekend well in advance. For reference, on a Friday night, I booked about 1.5 months out. The drinks are good, and if you don't like something, the staff will gladly make another free of charge. Some of the drinks have obscure ingredients to expand your pallet and introduce new flavors, but nevertheless they have "safer" choices for the less adventurous. We participated in the 3 course cocktail experience: you can either choose your own or tell the server your taste preferences and they will choose for you. Two people in our party chose the "surprise" course however this seemed to be a preset menu of "safe" drinks. They both got the exact same drinks but have 2 totally different taste profiles. For example, one preferred whiskey and tequila but received a vodka drink. An establishment that strictly focuses on cocktails absolutely needs to have servers who know their stuff and what to recommend. For $30 a cocktail, I expect my server to know the ins-and-outs of this menu and individually cater to each guest. Don't offer the "surprise" course and then give the same 3 drinks to every person. For that reason, I'm giving 4/5 stars.

Yelp
This place could not have been any cooler. From the view, to the service, to the incredible design, to the intimate atmosphere, it is just perfection. The prices are high, but the drinks are absolutely worth it and the experience is like none other in the city which is really what you're paying for. This is a great place for a date night!!
google avatar

Yelp
The actual stars this place deserves is a 6.5 out of 5. Reservations are required at $30 per person which gets applied to the first round of drinks. And yes, drinks are $30 a pop! The atmosphere here is top tier with a wonderful view of the city. A small venue makes this feel like a special place. We sat at the bar which was great because we got to watch the bartender work his magic! What a show by an absolute professional in every sense of the word. The drinks were amazing! Adding to the experience were some unexpected tastings of small plates from Corvino where coincidentally we had reservations for after the Mercury Room. The bottom line is everyone needs to go here. I rank this as the top drinking experience in all of KC.

Yelp
THE MERCURY ROOM is from the creators of the Monarch Bar and Verdigris. It delivers the upscale, sophisticated cocktail experience you'd find at a high-end lounge in New York or Los Angeles. Two things that will stand out from your first visit: the spectacular view of Kansas City's skyline and the uniquely crafted cocktails. It's located on the 14th floor of the Reverb Apartments in the Crossroads Arts District. Plenty of street parking available. After you check in the lobby of the building, you are taken to THE MERCURY ROOM on the top floor. When you enter the lounge, you'll experience some serious sensory overlook. The view from the floor to ceiling windows is amazing. The LED light system in the ceiling makes you feel like you floating above the city with the stars shinning down on you. It is definitely a spot for date nights and Instagram posts. It is a very intimate lounge, seating 28 guests. During Covid, the number is reduced to 14. The menu consists of about a dozen drinks, all priced at $30 (which includes tax and tip). A special cocktail, Lux Perpetuais, is made with 18-year Japanese Whiskey and costs $52. Between your drink courses, you're served some light bites from Corvino's. The dress code is "upscale smart, casual cocktail attire" with jackets required for men. You must make a two-hour reservation in advance on Tock during one of their three serving periods (4-6pm, 6-8pm and 8-10pm). It is open Tuesday thru Saturday. The waitstaff and bartenders are certainly at the top of their game. We were so impressed with our first visit on December 9th, that we made reservations for New Years Eve.

Yelp
The Mercury Room is a very unique place and experience. Requiring a reservation, you are brought up the elevator to the top floor. The room is very tastefully decorated and has scenic views of the city. The drinks were excellent and our server was professional, friendly and efficient. I would definitely recommend The Mercury Room for that special occasion, date or before dinner.

Yelp
Ambiance: Incredible ambiance and beautiful views of the Kansas City skyline. A fantastic photo op for those looking to snap a pic in front of an unobstructed view of the KC skyline. The Mercury Room has superior views compared to the views at the popular Percheron rooftop bar in KC. The Mercury Room is on the 14th floor of a high rise apartment building and we were initially seated on the patio before being moved into the main bar, both of which have incredible views. The interior design of the bar space is modern and the lights adorning the ceiling are romantic and celestial. Pricing: Drinks are pricey at $20 a drink but each is handcrafted with unique ingredients and you're paying for the ambiance and experience. Your $20 table reservation is applied to your bill. Gratuity is built into the drink pricing so no gratuity is expected. Drinks: We ordered the Sisu, a sweet gin drink with notes of melon that arrived in a hexagonal crystal glass topped with "melon air" foam. Good but the ice cube inside the glass took up about 75% of the entire glass leaving little room for the drink itself. We also ordered the Metamorphosis, a refreshing tequila drink with notes of pear that tasted similar to a margarita but sweeter, presented in a concrete chalice. For our second round we ordered the Albedo, a tequila drink that tasted more like a sweet white wine, exaggerated by the sweet coconut wash on the rim of the glass. I was hoping to be able to taste the spice of the Thai chili salt in the Albedo more, but for those concerned about spice, you cannot taste the Thai chili salt. We also ordered the Kumo and this was by far the best drink of the night. The combo of mezcal and tequila with the unique lacto-fermented cotton candy placed atop the glass by our server and melted into the drink was a delicious spicey-sweet combo. Balsamic was sprayed on top the Kumo for an additional sweet aromatic experience.

Yelp
The Mercury room is tiny, it's a room, not a large bar and you need a reservation. It's on the top floor of a small apartment building. Outside seating is also available. Ambiance was beautiful surrounded by starlight; and drinks were innovative. Music could be better. Drinks are $20 but with tax, tip, and an absurd "hospitality fee", one cocktail is $30. They bring you an ipad to sign for your bill and there's only two options, no tip or 25% tip, they are counting on you to be too drunk to pick other and manually enter in 20%. I can't say I'd return for $30 drinks when you want to drink a few when you go out.
google avatar

Maggie C.

Yelp
I made the mistake of book bar seating. You're of course seated incredibly close to one another and the seats weren't too comfortable. For a more intimate feel, I'll have to remember to book floor seating next time. We arrived a few minutes early. You check in on floor level and the receptionist will then take you upstairs when staff are ready upstairs. Upon entry from the elevator, you're then greeted by the hostess, who takes you to your seat. I was a little taken aback, I didn't anticipate the place being as small as it was. There is really only seating for about 20 people total and is no bigger than my living room. Upon seating, we were given a floral lychee palate cleanser. When reserving, you will need to pre pay your first drink. Are the drinks worth 30$ a drink? Frankly... no. But you pay for the experience, the views, the service, the tip, etc. so it does actually come out to being the right price. You don't come here to get drunk. You come here for the panache. This is definitely a special occasion type of place. Come dressed nice and enjoy your company.

Yelp
This is the place to go if you are looking to really impress someone. The menu is small and the drinks are expensive but very good. The service was impeccable and the view cannot be beat. The place is very intimate and you ought to have a reservation to guarantee there will be space for you. I can't wait to go back.

Yelp
We celebrated our daughter's birthday with fancy cocktails before going downstairs to dinner. The service was excellent and the drinks were delicious. This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion or just to have a nice drink. The views are nice and make for a great photo opportunity. The bar itself is sleek and modern. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
Small and cozy bar for high class drinks. Way overpriced, not worth getting an average drink for $20+ and no food options. You have to reserve your table beforehand, walkins are not guaranteed. It would be better to rent out the whole space since it's really so so small.

Yelp
Amazing place with the best views of KC. This place is somewhat still of a secret even though it's been around for a couple of years we enjoyed a great date night on a Monday, and was immediately smiling as soon as we walked in because of the views of downtown.

Yelp
Wow.... let me first just say wow. Yes this please is expensive but it deserves every penny with their operation and their drinks! This is hte perfect place to go for a an anniversary date or a special occasion date. I specify date because this place is small. It is really built for groups of two and really not more than that. Whether it's with a partner or a friend, I recommend only going with one other person. You have to make a reservation to go here! The way the reservation works, you have to put down $30 to make it. Don't freak out because this goes towards your bill at the end. Every drink on the menu is $30. Again that is steep but their drinks are insane! When you walk in, you are greeted by a host/hostess and they will tell you to sit in the waiting area until they are ready. Once they call you name, you are walked into the elevator and the host/hostess has to scan you up to the top floor. Once you get off the elevator, you are greeted by another staff member who walks you to your seats. We sat down and instantly given a pallet cleanser drink before ordering. The cool thing about this place is that the back wall is floor to ceiling windows so you have a great view of downtown. Also the ceiling is filled with dangling lights to mimic stars. There are mirrors everywhere so that when it is dark, the lights reflect off the mirrors. I recommend going about 30 minutes before sunset begins because you can see the view when its light out but you can also experience the room once the sun sets because that is when the room is so beautiful. The room is really meant to be seen at night. I definitely recommend this place for a celebration of some sort. It is beautiful and the service is top tier. It is expensive but they make it worth the price.

Yelp
Upscale bar, but smaller than it appears on photos. I would recommend making reservations beforehand if you don't want to wait. Drinks are $20, and I would recommend for date nights. Service was exceptional as well.

Yelp
Very expensive drinks and the $20 reservation fee gets very confusing with parties of 10+. Would say it's a 1 time visit. I've been here 3 times this year and do not plan on returning due to every experience being the same and too pricey

Yelp
Amazing spot for a fancy evening out! I've been here a couple times in the past and always had a blast. From the moment you enter the building, you are transported to a land so fancy. Even the lobby area is beautiful. Once your spot is ready, staff in the lobby will take you to the elevator and up to the room. I don't even have the words to describe how stunning the room is. From the plush couches to the sparkling ceiling, you can tell a lot of effort has gone into the place. The view of the Kansas City skyline is unlike any other - I would honestly come back just for the sight alone. The drinks, although expensive, are absolutely delicious and so unique. I'd never had a drink with egg whites before, and I'm so glad I tried it here. The staff is also extremely friendly and professional and make you feel really welcome. You do need a reservation to go, but I found it worth it. At the end of your 2 hour time slot, you can also walk across the hall to a slightly more laid back bar as well. Although I no longer drink alcohol, I had a wonderful time every time I came before. I'm unsure if they have mocktails, but if they do, I'll certainly be back!

Yelp
A beautiful experience. Simple, elegant celestial decor that complements rather than competes with the city skyline. The drinks are fabulous, and worth every dollar. I've been twice now- once with a date, once with a group of four. Four was fun for the sake of trying each other's drinks! Two was also nice, as it can be a very romantic atmosphere. Every sip is an adventure for the palate at this place! This is going to be my "impress my out of town guests" place of choice!

Yelp
By far one of my most cherished experiences this year. The Mercury Room delivered more than I could have imagined. *** Having visited the Monarch bar, I was eager to try this gem nestled downtown. From the creators of @themonarchbarkc and @verdigris.bar, they've unveiled a new urban oasis. Intimate, magical and reservation only... this place is something YOU MUST EXPERIENCE (AT LEAST ONCE). The ambiance mixed in with the curated cocktails and lofi / downtempo track makes for the perfect night cap, date night or night on the town. Upon entry you'll be greeted and prompted to wait in the lobby until you are able to take the elevator up to the 14th floor. Once you arrive a host will escort you to your table where all the magic happens. *** #WhileUAreHere I implore you to try their 3 Course Cocktail Tasting. This experience includes 3 cocktails, intermittent palate cleansers and intermittent small bites. if you have a special date coming up you must book in advance... If you're planning to attend and book on the same day it won't work. The mercury room has limited seating for the maximum experience and you'll want to get your reservation in weeks ahead. TLDR: GO RESERVE NOW.

Yelp
We had friends visiting in town and thought it would be fun to have a bougie night downtown. The mercury room has a phenomenal view & the decor is amazing. It's a small venue which explains why it is so hard to get a reservation. The drinks were SO GOOD (definitely felt like I was getting high quality liquor & meticulously curated cocktails). The service was stellar. Our server did an awesome job of picking drinks for each of our preferences. If you do the "three cocktail special", you get three drinks for $85 which is a $5 discount (drinks are typically $30 each) plus a little palate cleanser and bite size snack between cocktails. The 7pm-9pm reservation slot is awesome because you can enjoy both the sunset and experience the room at night, which was stunning. Awesome place to bring out-of-town friends, we will definitely be back.

Yelp
Showed up around 3-4pm on a random day. Me & my husband are from LA and are new to the area & I love these type of bars. It was a hot day so we were dressed very casual & were denied to go in because we weren't dressed " business casual". ??????? That's weird for a bar located in a random alley in Kc lol. I'll come back tho because I still want to try it. Maybe next time don't deny access to potential customers on a slow afternoon.

Yelp
Great cocktail bar with phenomenal ambience. This is definitely a nice photo op. This place is beautiful with a great view of the city. I will have to say I was shocked how small the space is. But I actually enjoyed that it made the setting more intimate . I did enjoy my drinks , but I do think this is a place for special occasions.

Yelp
Great views of the city! Good drinks, though they seemed to be made in batches rather than hand crafted but made for quick refills from the staff.

Yelp
Here from Denver. Went all over downtown KC and places around. This place has an unbeatable view of all downtown KC. Cocktails, complex and worth every penny. Justin made the experience a very worthwhile one. Tell him what you want and he will provide! Highly recommend.

Yelp
This place was FANTASTIC! What a great overall experience and the view and drinks were great too! The staff was above and beyond as well. You can tell they want to make it a great experience as well. I will not stop recommending this place ever. A cool spot for a few drinks and a sophisticated vibe! 10/10!

Yelp
Cool experience! Drinks were delicious! Ambiance was on point. Service is great. Just a little expensive for what you get, but that was known going in!

Yelp
We came here to celebrate a birthday and it did not disappoint. The view of Kansas City, the drinks, the service, the atmosphere..it was incredible. The ceiling looked like a starry sky. For my drink I chose the Rothko Palette. It changed flavors depending on which side of the glass you drank it from and it was delish. My husband got the Through Sfumato and it was the best whiskey drink I have ever tried. Incredibly smooth with bursting flavor. The thing I appreciated about this place is how much creative thought is put into each cocktail. It is quite expensive ($30 per drink on average), but in my opinion, all components here make it worth it.
