I'm a native San Franciscan and travel home frequently to visit with family and friends. I always stay at The Metro because I love everything about it. The rooms are very comfortable and shining clean, the beds and bedding are the best, it's a beautiful old building, well maintained. The location is excellent, especially if you want to use public transportation instead of hassling with traffic and parking. Many very good restaurants and fun shops are within easy walking distance and there are frequent service bus lines all around to take you wherever you care to go. But what I like the best is the service. Everyone is welcoming and caring, and they really know San Francisco and so can give you helpful advice.

We greatly appreciated the free upgrade to the queen room for my birthday. The staff was friendly, complementary tea was good too. Only thing I’d have liked that wasn’t available was some type of coffee in the lobby near the tea station. Even powdered stuff would’ve been good.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Metro Hotel. It is close enough for a nice healthy walk to Golden Gate Park and you can cross right through Haight-Ashbury to get there. There are food options nearby and it makes it really convenient that there’s a coffee shop right next-door. My favorite part was that the rooms were very nice, Although they are small, they met all of my needs. The garden area is a very nice touch.. The art in the hotel is really outstanding and the bedding was top-notch. I especially appreciated that there was an extra space heater in the room as the baseboard heater took some time to get going. I also really liked The variations of lighting options, including dimmable light switches. I’ll definitely stay here again. Next time I’m in San Francisco.

Google
What a great hotel. It seems like it was an apartment building converted into cute hotel rooms of various sizes, so it felt more like living in the city than a chain hotel would. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, but the the customer service was the highlight. I had a few questions that they promptly answered via text message. Just excellent communication overall. The neighborhood was hoppin' with a show at The Independent across the street, even though we walked one mile to The Fillmore. Super safe neighborhood with joggers everywhere you look. Just overall good times on a Monday night. Would definitely return.

If you want a cozy and eclectic vibe in a fabulous location, the Metro Hotel is the place! From the cool art, to the soft crisp sheets, and even the luscious bath and body products, everything was perfect! So many great shops and restaurants and bars nearby too. We will definitely be back!

Kim, Derek and Elise on the front desk are all really friendly and helpful. They can give great advice on places to eat and places to visit.|Well situated to get around San Francisco by bus and tram. Rooms are a little small but beautifully set out and decorated with little quaint touches.

Love the Metro Hotel. Enjoyed my very quiet room and the size of the room was perfect. Overlooked the city street and it was a great view! Accommodations felt like home. The Metro is nestled in the heart of a great neighborhood. Walking to the Golden Gate Park is a highlight! Thanks to all the staff.

Google
We have been staying at The Metro every time we visit San Francisco for years. All of the people who work there are very nice and helpful. There are lots of great places to eat within walking distance. You might get lucky and find parking out front. If not, there is a parking garage within walking distance. The place is cute as can be and very, very clean. We have always felt safe walking at night in this area. I cannot think of one bad thing to say!

Yelp
The Metro Hotel was fantastic in a great location. The hotel is within waking distance of Haight street and the Painted ladies. Any direction you turn is a good decision with great views and so many parks. Coffee and food are common in this neighbourhood. Just go out and find it. We stayed in a couple of rooms at different times and each room is uniquely designed and clean. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Looking forward to my next stay at the Metro hotel!

Yelp
I can't wait to stay here again! This boutique hotel is absolutely adorable! Our room was beautiful & quiet. Beds were so comfy & linens were crisp & wonderfully fresh. The bathroom towels were so soft & fluffy! The front desk guy (Derek I think?) was helpful & friendly. The location was perfect for our short walk to The Independent theater for the event we came to town for. We felt very safe walking in the neighborhood, even late at night. Our car was safe & secure at the hospital parking garage that wasn't too far away. There are SO many great restaurants & shops within walking distance. Do not miss coffee & pastries a few doors down at the cafe on the corner. So good & convenient. If I were to deduct stars for anything, it would maybe be that the shower nozzle could use an upgrade. It was the only thing about this place that didn't quite hit the mark. I will definitely be back to stay here again. Amazing value too!

Yelp
I really like the decoration style of this hotel. It is modern, simple yet elegant. The room facilities are complete and meet various needs.

Yelp
We felt a bit catfished by this property - the website makes it look sleek with the charm of a historical building, but the interior was pretty gnarly. Our original room on the first floor was... not good. The room had a window that overlooked an air vent that seemed to blow exhaust and smoke from the restaurant next door, giving the room a terrible smell. There was also loud music heard from our arrival (4 pm) to when we got back (9 pm). At that point, we asked the front desk if any other rooms were available, and he was able to switch us to the room directly above, which was surprisingly much quieter and more normal feeling. However, the soap ran out the next day, and the bathroom didn't feel all that clean (hair in the soap dish in the shower) The carpets are old and stained, the paintings in the hallways are askew, and the rooms are soooo small. Thankfully, it wasn't loud at night so we slept fine, and the location was great. But I could not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
I was planning to stay two nights at this hotel while my partner was at the hospital nearby. After the first night, I ended up having to stay at the hospital instead because her surgery started! I had the hotel key in my purse, my clothes in the room, and no car to go back and forth. I called the hotel at least six times and got the nicest people in the world, so understanding and helpful!!! They packed up my stuff, let me return the keys late, and kept my stuff at the front desk until I could get back to pick them up. Seriously packed full of kind souls.

Yelp
This is the coolest cutest hotel. It is quiet, very clean and the beds are really really plush. I will always stay here when I visit the city. I recommend it highly.

Yelp
Perfect hotel for a weekend getaway. Great neighborhood with restaurants and bars (and the Independent) walking distance. I also like that it's close to Castro and Haight/Ashbury and Outside Lands Music Festival.

Yelp
We stayed in th e metro hotel, and the facility was quite lovely. There is a nice garden where we did morning yoga and we stayed in the haight Ashbury room which was quite spacious for 3 people. The location is perfect, walking distance to great food, haight st shopping, and golden gate park. The only downside for me is that the lobby and hallways are very heavily fragranced with a perfumey vanilla scent. It was being sprayed into the lobby regularly, and it triggered an asthma attack for me. They also use strong smelling cheap laundry soap, which I really hate. Fortunately, I brought my own pillow. I would totally recommend this hotel otherwise, but just a warning to other asthmatics on the fragrance spray. It made my belongings smell as well by spraying directly on my suitcase while I was checking in.

Joleen B.

Yelp
Very nice, clean and quiet place close to so many things! Friendly desk and check in. I would stay here again.

Yelp
My friends came upon the Metro Hotel when we decided to make last minute plans to stay a whole weekend in San Francisco. We chose the Metro Hotel based on price (within our budget), location (acceptable walk away from BART stations and the Castro district), and how clean and acceptable the rooms looked both on Yelp and their website. When we checked into the hotel, we were kindly and immediately greeted by the front desk receptionist who quickly checked us in and gave us information and tips on the area. Even with the hotel utilizing physical keys, we were able to have two pairs of keys which was very convenient. When we came to our room 109 (interestingly named the Lion's Den in my email confirmation), we found the room to be very clean and comfy. Bed sheets were exceeded expectations especially with the fuzzy duvet blankets provided. The wall between the beds was nice when half our group was asleep and the other was awake. TV had cable which lets you watch a handful of channels like Food Network, Comedy Central, and other lovable channels. Towel service and beds were made immediately while we were gone which was very convenient for us. Ice was available upon front desk request. While our San Francisco adventure was a little chaotic, we found the Metro Hotel to be our safe haven for a multitude of reasons. One was that the lobby had a cute little dispenser with lemon-infused water for guests to drink from which was a delight to come upon every time we arrived back at the hotel. It was great coming back to a clean cozy hotel room each night of our stay. The hotel is also situated in area with tons of cafes, shops and even a decent chill bar across the street - The Page. Public transportation was also much better than expected as we found there was a ton of buses that stopped 1-2 min away from the hotel which was a major convenience to us. There's even a muni stop thats about a 8min walk from the hotel. The Metro Hotel may not be like those big chain hotels with numerous amenities, but it was one of the best hotel experiences I've had as the smaller hotel feel allowed for a more personal experience with the friendly staff. The hotel carried alot of charm that you won't see anywhere else. I would definitely book here again the next time I'm in the area. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Yelp
This is such a cute boutique hotel in Lower Haight, San Francisco! I was really in love with the neighborhood's Victorian-themed architecture, it is super friendly and has so many great local coffee shops to try for days. The location is close by to Alamo Square, the Painted Ladies, and some other artsy street murals. When my partner-in-crime and I got here, we were warmly welcomed by Angela, at the front desk. We were given our room keys and we went straight upstairs to our room to put down our luggage before beginning our adventures. I stayed in Room 103 which faces Divisadero Street so we get a lot of sunlight but we have to close the shades at night for privacy. This room is a comfortable home away from home! We were happy with this room came with our own private bathroom whereas not all rooms here do, so make sure when you book! Online reservations made it super easy and I would suggest booking months in advance because this place gets booked up very quickly! One minor issue we had was that the internet was very spotty on the last day of our stay but on the other days, it was fine.

Yelp
I've been here so many times, that I consider this my home in SF. The rooms have been updated a bit and there is shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Also boxes of tissues in the bathroom. When I walk in the door, they know me and thats priceless. Also the location is great, right on Divis, so you can walk to so many places, coffee shops, Sightglass is now next door, restaurants, cafes etc etc. Shana, her Mom and all the staff are so wonderful, I enjoy every visit! Cant wait to be there again soon.

Yelp
Had a fantastic time here. Staff was great. Location was perfect with things to do in every direction. And, to top it off, I forgot my watch in the room after I checked out and they shipped it back right away.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night while in town for a former high school teacher's centennial birthday celebration. The Metro is very much a small, no frills boutique hotel but super cute, clean, accommodating and friendly. When my friend and I arrived we were greeted warmly by Shana who checked us in and readily answered our questions about the neighborhood. She said to stop by the desk after we freshened up in our room, and when we came back downstairs she had both a map and a handwritten guide of her recommendations for dinner, drinks, dessert and people watching. It was the cutest thing ever!! After the centennial celebration we decided to go to a brewhouse with other alumni, and as reunions sometimes go the night continued on and on and we didn't get back to our room until the wee hours of the morning. What we noticed upon our bleary-eyed awakening was that the staff left the cutest card and Godiva chocolates on our nightstand. Unfortunately we didn't have an opportunity to partake in the wine as we had a plane to catch but I swear, the on-point customer service of The Metro is something you just don't see nowadays and my friend and I were supremely impressed. I'm not sure when my travels will bring me to San Francisco again, but rest assured that this will now be my go-to hotel.

Yelp
I've had two extended week long stays here. It's a great little boutique hotel in a great location. I highly recommend. One concern: it was freezing cold when I stayed there (40's) .... They had space heaters for the room ( there's no other heat) and they would've worked better except the housecleaning would open all the upstairs outside doors on the second floor open and let all the freezing air in for several hours everyday. It made my room and I'm sure everyone SO cold I had to run the space heater 24/7 which I'm sure killed their electric bill. Another tiny change ... spend a couple bucks and have some coffee in the lobby. The place next door doesn't open until later and it's expensive.

Great Little hotel very much a San Francisco special. I would highly recommend this place to stay.

Yelp
Front desk staff was very nice. Decorations wonderful all around. Room was very dusty. Sheets appeared and smelled not clean. My towel had orange makeup smeared all across it, that was the final straw, so we decided to leave. Checked out just 1 hour after checking in. I did attempt to contact Metro Hotel via their feedback system, but no one has responded.

Yelp
spent my entire weekend in one of these castles, and I regret nothing! It was comfortable and hassle-free

Yelp
Cute cute cute! I wish I wasn't with my kids so I could walk the town and embrace the craziness of downtown San Francisco. The lady that helped me initially on the phone was very sweet and i had a few questions about the amenities and I had to call back and the gentleman I spoke with was very very nice also. I was told there was a fridge and microwave inside the room and they had it behind the front counter so I wish they would have disclosed that in the beginning. The parking is not my favorite at all. Every single time I tried to park it wasn't the right time or whatever and as soon as I left my spot there was someone that was waiting for me to leave. But we still figured it out. It was a bit stressful with the kids but there wasn't anyone below us so that made me feel a lot better. Definitely a cute fancy place.

Yelp
I can't say enough nice things. Amazing staff, great area and reasonable rates. Family owned and operated places like this are gems. I got the feeling of staying with friends and family. All of Shana's recommendations were spot on. There is so much to see in the area. I wasn't bored for a second. Will book again!

Yelp
We were coming to San Francisco for a concert at a venue just down the road from The Metro Hotel. I'm so glad it was the closet location because we definitely found our home base for all future visits. Everything is literally within a mile of this hotel. We easily found our way up to Haight St., Golden Gate Park and Japantown. Right on the corner is a wonderful coffee shop I can't recommend enough. A good handful of record stores and great bars are all in walking distance. I particularly like that you reserve a specific room. We stayed on the second floor in one of the rooms facing Divisadero St. The tall windows brought a bright airy quality to the space but also blinds so we could shut out the world while sleeping. The bed was plenty comfortable and surprisingly the room had a ceiling fan, much appreciated by these Texas visitors. The bathroom was tiny but the shower had great pressure with plenty of hot water. The furniture was a bit funky, some home made, but it was comfortable and the art was interesting. Every time we came in and out someone welcomed us. The people running the front desk when we arrived and when we left were wonderful and very friendly. Definitely a great value and a great location.

Yelp
The coolest little hotel in SF is my 26-year secret. I've been resisting the urge to write a review for the Metro - because I don't want them to book up for the times I go. But it's time. I've been a loyal customer since my first stay in 1993. Yep. THAT long. Took my family there once. It's not the Ritz Carlton, nor the Marriott. If you expect that level, stay in those fine establishments. If you want a little more chill environ with great local accessibility, I highly recommend the Metro. Room service gets a little quirky once in a while, but otherwise - it's an excellent value for a fabulous location. And btw... do not let the rumors about the neighborhood spook you. Use your head, and you'll be fine. Seriously. That's normal for anywhere, right?

Yelp
My husband and I have been frequenting The Metro Hotel for about 7 years now. It's the cleanest, nicest place we have stayed for n San Francisco. Each room is cared for like it was your own. The hotel is located in a hopping part of town. I can't say enough great things about this hotel and the people who work here. Superb accommodations, cleanliness is next to nothing, and the owners are soooo nice!!! We feel at home here.

Yelp
Ricardo and Kyle were exceptionally helpful and kind when dealing with booking. Lesson learned, book through the hotel! Such an amazing location and people. You'd be hard pressed to find a better stay! Thanks again staff at Metro!

Katie P.

Yelp
This place is adorable! Very thoughtfully and artfully decorated, clean, cozy, lots of natural light and central to the Haight Ashbury and Castro neighborhoods. Our ONLY critique was the room size -- we booked a standard full and the room is TINY. I'm talking hardly enough room to lay a suitcase on the floor. Perhaps it's just this room, but the bed literally took up the entire room. We would come back for sure, but definitely would request a bigger room. Otherwise, highly recommend this place!

Yelp
This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at. I used to travel a lot for my job, and would often be forced to stay in the city longer than I'd originally planned. So more than once, I would frantically ask (at the last minute) if there were any available rooms for the next few nights. This is no doubt annoying on their end, and they could have easily sent me packing, but instead they'd work with me and promptly keep me in the loop as to any openings. Oftentimes they would switch things around, follow up on shaky bookings, just to try and help me out. Each and every time they were so reliable, so accommodating, and I was almost always able to book an additional reservation at the last minute. What's more is they didn't make me feel guilty for it. I became a semi-local and really felt a part of their community in some small way. It's everything you'd want from a hotel: cozy, comforting, and clean. And most importantly, AFFORDABLE. Best prices in the city. Metro Hotel, you saved my life more than once with consistent poise, kindness, and understanding. I'll never, ever forget it. Thank you. Until next time!

Yelp
This has to be the most unique, clean, and wonderful hotel. The hospitality of the staff is so welcoming and they are very knowledgeable and helpful with questions / directions . I had the pleasure of meeting Angela, whom I made the reservation with, I loved her over the phone and more so in person. It was also a pleasure of meeting other staff; Matthew and Marco. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting San Francisco. Antoinette Polak

Yelp
I have found my forever stay hotel in San Francisco. This hotel is perfect. Amazing and very attentive staff. Cute little roomat the same time it feels very spacious. It has an amazing full body mirror, small TV and very comfy clean bed. I would rate this place a 8/5. Highly recommended. I'll be back!!

Yelp
Needing a spot to stay after the Erykah Badu DJ set a month or so I go, I happened upon the Metro Hotel online. I was elated to find a cheap hotel in SF with honest reviews on their cleanliness, size of room and description of neighboring area. So I booked and stayed in 108. The room was cozy and clean as specified and close to the back door which led to a shared garden perfect for having lunch. The shower was quite small but was perfect for the one night stay we had. The closet was large and had a peek a boo window, nice edition to the natural light in the room. The room also came equip with a blow dryer, ceiling fan, portable fan, and cable tv. All in all for $100 a night this room is a perfect place to stay for a night or so. Check in and Check out was smooth. Although they do not offer early or late check in or out they don't mind storing your luggage for those who want to stick around SF after your stay. The staff is also plenty friendly and helpful. My favorite part of the stay was being in the heart of the Haight.

Yelp
PROS: Price, location, value For close to nothing (well, $80+/night), you can have everything you need accommodations-wise for a trip to San Francisco. It's located very conveniently to things of interest without being in the thick of all things touristy. The rooms provide a safe and private place to put your luggage and sleep in a compact setting. At the same time, it manages to be clean and very well kept. It's modestly stocked with stuff so you'll want to bring your own toiletries but, seriously, for the savings you get staying here, you'll have money to buy your own shampoo. CONS (kind of): Size, noise, accessibility You do have to know this about this place: The rooms are small. Very small. If I stretched out my arms outside of my full-sized bed, I could literally touch the walls on each side. I had to close the door to the hallway to be able to open the bathroom door. The bathroom consisted of a toilet and a standing shower. The sink was outside the bathroom and doubled as a vanity and sink situation by the bed. If this bothers you, for at least $120 more a day, you can find a hotel where you can do back flips before you head out and spend most of your day wandering around the city. You can also definitely hear a regular amount of city noise. There were some people enjoying the garden terrace outside who I could hear from 3 floors up. I'm not typically bothered by this but for sensitive sleepers, it might be a problem. Lastly, they don't have elevators. It's not a problem for me because this girl is from Seattle and stairs/hill ain't no thang. But for those with limited mobility, it's a no go. ULTIMATELY I love this place. I almost didn't wanna tell you about this place because I wanted to keep it to myself. I seriously live in constant fear that they'll figure out that they can raise the prices.

Yelp
Now... the Metro Hotel is no swank, bubble bath, conditioner, shampoo, chocolate on the pillow, blow-dryer in the drawer, 20 towels, pay-per view, hotel stationary, free tea, kind of place. Nope. It's basic. Slightly worn around the edges. BUT, for a full size bed, in a safe convenient area, complimentary oranges at the front desk, with a long-term door clerk, back patio, off away from the street noise, with a private bathroom/shower, 13 inch TV, FREE wifi, soap, heating, water glasses, three towels, extra blankets, fluffy pillows, and near a plethora of affordable cafes and restaurants - kind of place, All for only around $60 (with tax - it's around $70) You cannot go wrong. My mom is visiting from England, and this place has been amazing and quaint. I don't have to stress how she's going to find her way downtown. I'm close-by to her. She's surrounded by many of my favorite places. And most importantly I know she's safe and not spending half of her vacation money on a place to stay. The bed was a little hard for my liking, but I was so enamored by the quiet, small room, that I was even tempted to book myself in here sometime. Seriously. (I have a suitcase packed and everything) Just be sure to book quickly. The weekends fill up fast, and the room rates go up, according to the size of the bed in each room.

Mike P.

Yelp
Great little hotel if you're looking for one on a budget. Very friendly staff. Rooms were clean each night as we returned. Good location in the city -- we did the touristy things (Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, GGB, Giants game) and all of our Uber's were $7-10. Our only complaint was the noise. You can hear everyone in the hallways and there's a fair amount of street noise (we were in room 111). It's not awful, but it was an annoyance. Definitely recommend this place!

Yelp
First time experience. Metro Hotel is hands down the best place to stay at in San Francisco. The staff is extremely friendly and it's such a charming place to stay in. This stay is from a trip my girlfriend and I took late last year. Most of our interactions while staying here was through staff member Shana. Shana was very accommodating, personable and informative. All the front desk staff members we encountered were top notch. If you happen to arrive early, before their check-in time, they will happily store all of your luggage so you can roam about the city. The rooms are very nice and cozy. Some rooms have bigger bathrooms. Even smaller rooms have gigantic bathrooms for its room size. For the entire setup of the Metro Hotel, it's surprisingly and relatively quiet. But we did have an inside room, so I really can't judge the noise levels for the rooms that are located on the street side. Downstairs near the front entrence are shelves filled with books that can be brought upstairs to your room to read. An abundunce of them are San Francisco and travel themed. Also near the book shelves is a chalkboard that has weekly weather info and local events going on. The front staff are very friendly and knowledgeable on information on where to eat if you are completely lost on the subject. They will also point you in the right direction on where to go for great things to do in the city. Another great thing about Metro Hotel, is that it is very close to great things to do in the city. So close by that it's a short walk or bus ride to where you want to go. If you need to travel by the MUNI bus, the stop is just right outside the hotel. Great places to eat are a very short distance away such as The Grind Cafe, Vinyl Cafe and NOPA. You also have the Bi-Rite Market for gourmet foods and freshly made sandwiches and their ever favorite ice cream. The Metro does offer free WiFi, but at the time when we stayed here the internet signal was very spotty. So keep that in mind if you need internet for your stay. There is always a staff member at the font desk 24hrs a day. You have your own key for the front door and going in and out is always safe no matter what time of the day it is. Staying at the Metro Hotel really makes your vacation great!!

Yelp
Do not stay here if u are trying to sleep. AKA business trip. It's almost midnight and they 'can't turn the lights off'. Or Close the blinds.

Yelp
Let's start with the extremely nice people that work at the desk. Not only are they friendly, but they are personable as well. I never saw a single person walk through the lobby without being greeted. Next, we'll move on to the rooms. I stayed in a room with a full bed. The room was on the small side, but there was a large window, and the bed was extremely comfortable. There was also a dock to plug my iPod into. This was the perfect sized room for one person. The location is GREAT. It is near some obscure San Francisco gems, as well as some popular tourist sights! I HIGHLY recommend this hotel to any out-of-towner looking for a nice place to stay!

Yelp
When in doubt, trust in Yelp. I booked the Metro because it was ridiculously cheap - half the price of any other hotel (and those only offered shared bathrooms). I wasn't sure what to expect with the mixed reviews, but I noticed that the really bad reviews tended to be old. I couldn't believe my luck because it was an excellent value. I had room 206, which I think was described as the smallest room in the hotel with no window. It was $88 ($101 after taxes). I was pleasantly surprised to find that it did have a window! The room was definitely tiny but clean and adequate. There was a full sized bed and maybe 2 feet of perimeter space around the bed, and that's it. I am a small person and I found myself bumping into the wall all the time. Pros: - So, so cheap - Location; The neighborhood is charming and safe, with lots of markets and cafes nearby. It's also close to GG Park, Haight St, Castro. - Friendly staff. I had to borrow a hair dryer from the front desk and they delivered it to me - Outdoor patio - Free wifi - Private bathroom - If you are here for work, the 6 and 71 bus goes directly from Haight St into Union Square Cons - No elevator - Small. If you are here for business, you might wanna spring for a larger room or go somewhere else. There were only 2 drawers (in a nightstand) plus a tiny cubby closet, which my husband filled with the shirts/suits he needed for our 5 day stay. If we needed to use an iron, I have no idea how an ironing board would fit in the room. On the other hand, there are 2 cleaners nearby where you could your clothes pressed. If you are tall or large, you should not get room 206, the smallest room in the hotel. Book early because a lot of people are in on this secret! I booked at least 3 months ahead and I got the last room available.

Yelp
I really loved this hotel! My group of four stayed here for one night the day after Christmas. This place has a real homey feeling to it. The front receptionist was really nice. Check in was a breeze. There are no elevators, only stairs. It was okay for us strapping young'ns. But for the elderly or infirmed, that is a problem. Our room was way better than expected. The toilet and showers are separate, which is great so one can do their business while the other enjoys a shower. We had two full beds. They were nice and plush. They have a tv with decent cable channels. What I really loved was the windows. They are long, open windows that you can open up and step out into the balcony. You get a nice view of the street. The location is great too. Walking distance to Bi-Rite Market, Little Star Pizza, and the Painted Ladies. There's also a used kitchen gadgets store, two or three doors down. I really wanted to check this place out, but it was closed. As for parking, we found parking right in front of the hotel. It's free overnight parking from a certain set of hours. We had to move or feed the meter by 8 or 9 am, which was totally fine. I would definitely stay at this hotel again and would recommend this place to all. The prices are pretty decent. It was a bit pricy for us because we went during busy holiday times.

Yelp
This hotel was incredible. The price was amazing considering you get your own private bathroom. Rooms are definitely small but the private bathroom more than makes up for that. Have I mentioned the private bathroom yet? The staff are incredibly kind and polite. They are there to help out with any issues at any time of day. Overall this hotel had an amazing value for the amount that it costs. I would definitely stay here again on another trip to San Fran.

Yelp
Okay so this is a really cute place. I liked that it was walking distances to Haights street and ultimately Golden Gate Park. It was fun walking down that street and seeing vintage stores and hippies. On the other end of the hotel I walked through Hayes valley which was also a really nice walk and walking distance to the painted ladies which was really beautiful. Honestly the hotel is surrounded by beautiful parks which was refreshing. And there are tons of restaurants and bars nearby. My only problem is that I felt like this was more of an apartment complex. My sink was in my bedroom and chopped off from the actual bathroom. I felt a little claustrophobic in my room, it was pretty small dark and a little old feeling. I didn't feel completely safe but I double locked my door and managed to survive. The TV didn't have too many channels, which was irritating. I stayed in room 104, I passed by other rooms that looked bigger. I liked the TJs body wash and I didn't feel like the shower or toilets were dirty. The price was pretty good. I don't think I would go back though.

Yelp
Pros: Location! Within walking distance to plenty of things to do, food, coffee shops, etc. We were also able to find street parking outside of the hotel every night. Cons: My room is a lot smaller than I expected! We had an interior room, which I expected would be small. No place to put any of my belongings. Bathroom was clean but unfortunately they have an ant issue. Bed was very uncomfortable, other reviews have said different so maybe rooms vary. Overall it was great value but I would likely book elsewhere if I return to SF.

Yelp
Great spot, convenient, clean, and 'budget-friendly' as they say. Fun funky vibe, super pleasant and helpful folks. Will be my go-to when I need a place to overnight in the city/in the future!

Yelp
If I could give 10 stars - I would. This is the cutest little hotel, it is super clean and modern, its basic and the location is close to the bus and muni lines. There is lots of little cafes and restaurants near by. The staff was super nice and helpfull with directions. The prices are fair and totally acceptable considered the location and that it is in San Fran. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and recommend it to everyone.

Yelp
If I could give 10 stars I would!! This place has been a home away from home while my husband had surgery/recovered. From the time I called to make the reservations until the time I checked out, i felt completely safe and well cared for.

Yelp
This hotel is great, the rooms are well appointed, comfortable and updated since my last day. The staff are friendly and helpful, administration is prompt and successfully uses texting as Their primary form of communication. The location is fantastic, easy transportation and right in the middle of multiple neighborhoods.

Yelp
I don't even want to rate this place because i dont want everyone to fill it up!! This hotel was perfect. It was spotlessly clean and I was able to easily find free overnight parking. There are lots of restaurants in close proximity. The wifi worked great. The front desk staff was super nice and helpful. The bed was very comfortable and even the shower was great with good water pressure. If you want ice ask for it at the front desk. They even supplied me napkins for my takeout since I forgot to grab any at the restaurant. I hope to use this hotel again.

Yelp
Highly recommend this hotel. Affordable prices, close to everything, clean, cozy rooms and such amazing service. Reception even assisted us with a shuttle to the airport, saving us on spending more with a rideshare. Love the art decor all around as well.

Yelp
My daughter and I stayed here for 2 nights in July and absolutely loved it! We could easily walk to Haight Ashbury, Golden Gate Park, and The Painted Ladies. Muni stops were also close by, offering a quick and easy ride into the Castro District and other areas. The hotel itself was one of the cleanest I've ever visited, and the room was exactly as described online. We had no issues with noise and knew from the reviews and other posted info that we'd have to walk up 2 flights as there was no elevator. Lastly, all the staff with whom we interacted were fantastic; super friendly, and helpful. Finding this little gem of a hotel helped make our mini vacation amazing!
