Wonderful food and amazing staff! It was a fixed menu for Valentine’s Day and I loved every bite. The executive chef is lovely, our server was a joy, and many others participated in our service each one friendlier than the last.

Lovely place to stop for lunch, by the river. The restaurant is located at an actual old mill, and the whole setting is charming. Inside is cozy with a fireplace. And outside you can eat on the deck and hear the river. Every server I encountered was helpful and friendly. I ate the wagyu burger and my girlfriend enjoyed the clam chowder. Both were delicious. I'd love to come back. Exceptional.

We really enjoyed our experience. There is a warm elegance in the atmosphere that matches the food. Wagyu burger did not disappoint and the imaginative, vegan options were over the top fantastic. Found this place on our way into Sonoma as a stop for lunch. Lovely setting and great friendly service. Our host and waiter was most gracious and quickly helped with suggestions. The wine and the lunch was fabulous. So much so that we booked a reservation for Saturday night dinner. Upon return we were greeted by our same host and we were quickly shown to a nice table. Again we took his suggestions and everything was perfect. Some of the best lamb chips I’ve ever had. He suggested a dessert and bragged about his Equatorial coffee. It was to die for, along with the rice pudding dessert. Such a pleasant experience, I hope you get to enjoy as much as we did. #stevensleavin

We loved our time here. The food was fantastic and the service and atmosphere just perfect. We arrived on a cold rainy evening and the smell of the wood fire was amazing. It’s evident that the staff cares deeply about excellent service. And, you have to try the chocolate mousse. Gluten and dairy free and you won’t miss a thing! We loved it so much that we returned 2 nights later just to have the mousse again.

Wonderful in every aspect! The building, tranquil ambience, location, staff, food and wine are of a standard to make anyone happy. The BLT was the best I have ever had anywhere. Great wine selection. The staff are kind, attentive and efficient. I cannot recommend highly enough!

We had a delicious, good valued meal with very friendly service and a beautiful view. What else do you need? The starter bread was heavy with quality olive oil and Parmesan. The light home brewed beer was smooth and a little fruity. The lamb burger was excellent. Best of all was a 2021 Trestle Glen Zinfandel that is not available to the public but was extraordinary. The view by the water is bucolic and peaceful.

This is a hidden gem, which should rightfully deserve much more recognition. The atmosphere, staff and service, and food hit every mark I'd expect at a high end restaurant. Stopped in for a birthday dinner for my birthday weekend and truly felt like a king. Right from the start, we were greeted by friendly staff and promptly seated. Before even getting settled in, we were offered fresh cucumber and lemon infused ice water, and like clockwork, our wonderful waitress, Alex, gave us a quick run down of the menu and top hits. We ended up ordering the bread, Brussels sprouts, clam chowder, and pork chops. Every dish was fresh, tasted amazing, and had the presentation of an upscale restaurant. Even the birthday treat and celebration by the whole staff made me feel warm, welcomed, and appreciated. Throughout the entire service, the staff consistently checked in on us to clear plates and ensure our experience met expectations - which they certainly did! Highly recommend stopping here!

My friends and I are confused by how highly rated this restaurant is. Food was below average tasted like it was reheated in a microwave. Service was amazing. Everyone was so attentive and so sweet. The environment was beautiful and cozy. Loksa: 3.5/5 the udon noodles had a weird texture. They should be pretty smooth and bouncy but this one tasted overcooked? Or maybe the noodles were sitting in the soup for too long. Veggie pizza: 3/5 absolutely nothing special about this pizza. The breading just broke apart, like a stale piece of bread. The cheese had no flavor tomato sauce just tasted straight out of a tomato paste can. Overall, I felt like everything we ordered was pretty bland in flavor. Disappointed, especially with how steep the prices.

A cold brisk afternoon off for an anniversary day drive through the mayacamas vineyards... arriving at the Jack London building and the old mill.. to have lunch at the oldest structure ... in the area "the mill" circa 1839. Surprisingly delicious food ( very vegetarian pescatarian friendly) in the middle of a very quaint town outside of the downtown Sonoma area. We enjoyed the stellar service, and delicious food in a beautiful setting in the forest and old mill surrounded by a delightful sculpture walk ( wheelchair accessible) 1. Creamy red bell pepper soup 2. mixed seasonal salad garnished with edible flowers 3. della fattoria sourdough bread with garlic olive oil and parmesan 4. Entree : potato cakes and crisped vegetables atop a grain medley ! Delicious with a crisp pepper and hot oil infusion paste. 5. Basque Cheesecake fresh berries Unbelievable tasty ! The restaurant is inside a 115 year old building formerly a mill. The staff were very nice, greeting us immediately and letting us choose where to sit. We chose the bar area with floors that sloped slightly down because of age and settling. Menu was described and suggestions made, we chose local bread with olive oil and Parmesan to go with clam chowder and red pepper soup. Both soups were delicious and bread amazing. We plan on going back to try other dishes! Forgot to mention their own brewed Kolsch beer, great flavor!

Such a lovely setting for a restaurant. We wanted to sit outside with all the greenery but no tables were available. The interior is well designed and we were pleased with sitting there. Our service could not have been any better. Due to confusion with a reservation, the manager comped part of our order. The bread that is crisped and dipped in olive oil with Parmesan is to die for. My friend enjoyed their black bean soup very much - loads of veggies and not too chick. My Caesar salad was a bit blah although large- I was unable to finish. I sampled my friend's crispy tofu and it was scrumptious. I'd like to return and sit on the patio on my next visit.

This is worth the drive. The venue is beyond gorgeous and the food is so good and the staff is very friendly and attentive. I chose to sit on the patio because of how beautiful it was. Inside was nice too. I started the bread, which was covered in olive oil, basil and parmesian. So good. Next I had the House green salad which was almost too pretty to eat. The entree was the New Zealand rack of lamb. This was so well prepared and came with garlic mashed potatoes and beautiful vegetables. I ended the meal with the Basque cheesecake. OMG, this was so silky, with a mild vanilla flavor. Loved the berries. Please keep them in business.

Went to The Mill last night for dinner-what a fantastic experience! Very cute ambience, exceptional service, and delicious food. We had the masala potatoes, the house salad, the wagu burger, a chocolate cake and the cheesecake - all extremely yummy! My boyfriend wanted the chocolate cake and I wanted the cheesecake so I agreed to the chocolate cake but they brought out a complementary cheesecake .Tony and Sasha took really good care of us. Our waitress, Saha introduced us to the owner, Sanjeev. He was wonderful too. We were very impressed and definitely will be coming back. Highly recommend!

The Mill has such a rustic and warm charm with staff that gives it soul and life; Split Pea soup was comforting and packed with nutritious deliciousness! Seasonal Tomato Salad was drizzled with a beautiful balsamic glaze which complimented sweetness of the fresh tomatoes. Indian-Inspired Rice Pudding with coconut milk, pistachios, etc and cardamom infused flavors was perfect ending to our lunch experience at The Mill. The added birthday candle to the dessert was such a delightful surprise. First (and certainly not our last) culinary experience at The Mill.

If you are lucky enough to get to dine at The Mill, consider yourself one of the chosen people. You will have one of the most outstanding experiences with delights in every bite and in its picturesque glory. We were warmly greeted by Sanjeev, one of the 6 partners. It seems like every one of the staff and the owners takes pride in the restaurant and enjoys working there. There is pure artistry in the presentation and flavors of every dish. There wasn't one thing we were treated to that didn't score a 10. The vibe, the lighting, the ambiance all worked to round out this great experience. It was our 47 th anniversary and they made it even more special. I hope you love it like we did.

May 2, 2025 Exceptional. The food, the service, and the outdoor garden patio seating next to Sonoma Creek all made for a wonderful dining experience. We arrived, with our pup, just as they opened. We were able to get a table with a view overlooking Sonoma Creek. The outdoor patio is filled with beautiful plants and flowers, hummingbird feeders and hummingbirds. You feel happy just being there. The servers are friendly and pretty much amazing. We were treated like special honored guests. Our puppy was given a water bowl and a giant milk bone. Service was quick, and attentive. Our water glasses did not even get half way to empty before they were filled again. And the food! We ordered the Warm Della Fattoria ($10). It was delicious, served with parmesan, butter and olive oil. I also ordered a wonderful glass of rose'. For our main course, my husband and I decided to split the butternut squash ravioli (with braised greens, butternut squash, roasted chestnuts and a luscious lemon cream sauce). The kitchen split the meal for us, beautifully individually plating each serving. A++++ Everything was so delicious, we could not leave without having dessert. We had the chocolate mousse with raspberry and fresh fruit. The perfect ending to a perfect meal.

Am amazing last minute find. A slightly hidden area. Comfortable infoor or outdoor seating. Staff was accommodating as we did not have reservations after a long day of wine tasting . Our appetizer...the flatbtrad with goat cheese and roasted chickpeas was delicious. Our main courses were.. the butternut squash ravioli....amazing sauce.... fresh and delicious My vegetarian pizza was one of the best I have ever had.. tons of fresh veggies, not excessively cheesy. Staff worked as a great team. All were kind and available. They also completely understood we may have been drinking wine and there was no pressure to drink wine or cocktails. We would definitely go back.

Definitely a must do. Beautiful atmosphere, friendly, knowledgeable, & professional staff working as a team to ensure your experience is wonderful. The food was amazing, beautifully presented and unimaginably delightful.

We stopped here for a late lunch on a birthday trip to the area. We had an incredible experience from start to finish. The service was truly five-star -- everyone was friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The food was excellent -- beautifully presented, full of flavor, and perfectly cooked. The patio is a gorgeous natural setting that made our meal even more enjoyable. What made the meal extra special was how the team helped celebrate our son's birthday. They paid such thoughtful attention to every detail and made him feel so celebrated -- it turned a great meal into a truly memorable event for our family. We can't recommend this restaurant highly enough. Exceptional service, delicious food, and genuine hospitality -- we'll definitely be back!

We saw this restaurant on Yelp and decided to try it. We were very impressed with the setting, service, and food. Our lunch was the wagyu burger and Brussels sprouts. This is one of the few places that doesn't charge for split plates. We left full and very satisfied. It's about a 12 minute drive from Sonoma and well worth the trip. We intend to come back.

I had my companion (Lola the dog) so sat outside. They gave me shawls and Lola got her own water bowl and treat! The clam chowder with a flatbread covered in goat cheese and topped with perfectly crisp chickpeas was great. The service was exceptional!

(Visited 03/09/2025) My husband and chose this spot for a date , a well deserved date ; we hadn't been on a date since our first child was born 3 1/2 years ago . I know ; sad. A friend of ours after telling us every day day to go on a date they pick this spot for us and made the reservation so we had no excuse, since they had also offer to babysit. The owner and his peers were welcoming, friendly people and they were bilingual-spanish and i mentioned this because it was delightful to interact with them in a mix slang. Is a kid friendly and Pet friendly restaurant . They changed their Menu often. I believe every week ? I don't remember.

The service here is absolutely incredible. Co-owner Sanjiv takes great pride in serving and playing any role needed in his restaurant. This spot has an amazing history of survival as a small business during pandemic that made it through. The food is absolutely amazing. Our group of eight ordered almost every item on the menu and not a single one of us had a bad word to say. They have excellent and flavorfull vegetarian options. The poached salmon was seasoned to perfection. The steak was grilled to the requested temperature. The Salisbury was a blast from the past with a farm to table feel. All the veggies were a nice add to free us from the guilt of bread an amazing herbed butter. I'm going backwards because that's the delicious order of my life. The soups, any soup is absolutely incredible. The right balance of cream to veggie to fresh. As a friend said, "can i have a bucket of this shipped home?!?" And she very much meant it. Now, the cocktails!!!! Yes!! Give me more. The cosmos are all fresh and natural. The lemon drop has a fresh tang to it cut by the sweet calm sugar. The wine is a wonderful representation of what Sonoma has to offer. The home brew beer is not just a brave attempt but a map securing pin for this small batch. Whatever they are maki ng this season, trust it to make your taste buds excite. This place is a MUST STOP for anyone in the area. Come support local and indulge in all the local flavors.

I'm so glad me and my friend ended up trying this place out. We came for lunch and was able to sit out on the patio by the creek. It was a beautiful view, perfect weather, and was very relaxing. For starters, my friend and I shared the bread with garlic, olive oil, parsley, and side of butter. Then we got their Italian sausage wood fired pizza. These were simple dishes, but made to perfection! Service was great. I really liked how our server took the time to explain their menu and what's been popular. Would definitely stop by here again next time I'm in town!

Delicious, fresh food, beautiful ambience and the most amazing service. The restaurant was like attending a masterclass on how it's done. Fabulous and bravo, you guys deserve every star you have !

Service. Greeted immediately and open seating so we grabbed a spot above the creek but later realized it was on the way to the service entrance for the kitchen. Ambiance. We were taken aback by the clutter and random struggling plants and planters and colored lights that appeared to be leftover holiday decor. The aesthetic didn't align with the historic building or setting so it was a mismatch. Rather distracting and odd to have an igloo cooler on a shelf outside the kitchen - what was in there? Food. It was ok. The menu has a lot of Indian dishes which was surprising. Maybe the chef or owners are Indian? Prices seemed high for quality and presentation. In Sonoma, I am thinking of more farm to fork cuisine but we saw other reviews. We tried the flat bread with fried chickpeas and goat cheese spread? While it was good, I'm afraid the flatbread was premade and they just reheated with a few toppings. Split the wagyu burger and while it was good, it was also a premade bun not bakery quality with prepackaged Cole slaw and the pickled vegetables appeared to be the same Cole slaw with spices. The fries were also in oil that didn't taste good. I walked by the neighboring Songbird and was pretty sad it was only open for dinner as it is more of what I was thinking of. I know it is hard to have a restaurant right now and wish them the best.

I'm such a huge fan of this lovely restaurant. Came here on a Saturday for brunch with my bestie to celebrate her bday. They are just so absolutely nice here and the food is fabulous!! The BLT is my fave with that buttery brioche bun (+ crispy fries) and the complimentary side salad was the perfect touch. Love their dressing. I'm so impressed with the level of friendliness and attentiveness they give and with a smile. They even brought out a dessert and sang happy bday to my bestie- what a nice touch. The outdoor seating is calming and a plant heaven. I cannot wait to come back again.

This place has great food and ambience. Must visit for folks who are near Sonoma or glen allen. We tasted vegetarian wood fire pizza and edamame bean hummus.

OMG! This is the place to go! When you are just driving along on a day when the Golden Bear Station, Stella and Salt and Stone are not open ( which they should be considering it's a wine trail) keep on driving to The Mill at Glen Ellen!! We have been here several times but it's not near where we live so it's been a while...but today it was where we ended up and the food was amazing! As always! Never had a bad meal... but the Fried Tofu in a delicious sauce was the best I've ever had...even the simple green salad I would come back very soon for...please try this place and be amazed at the food, wine, dessert, ambience and the wonderful staff. It's on my calendar to come at least once a month maybe more

Love this place in general. The food is always good. The atmosphere is also very nice. Especially because they sat us outside this time which we requested and it was a beautiful day. The only downside is I think something happened with the order or the kitchen was just super backed up. Food took a very long time to come out but the manager was attentive and apologized and did everything he could to make it right which I greatly appreciated. Staff in general was very nice as well. I waitress was funny and spoke her mind which I always appreciate raw true genuine people. The lamb burger my buddy ordered looked amazing and liked it. We all ordered the wagyu burger and also good. Anyway - check out the milll!!!

absolute top tier service. it was an absolute pleasure to eat here. this was the most attentive eating experience i've had in years! blown away by the ambiance and hospitality. you don't get this kind of service these days! the food was flavorful, comforting, and delicious! the portions were beyond generous and we left extremely full. sounds like you can't go wrong with anything here, but you must try the bread! honorable mention for the masala potato patties. the vegetarian options here hold their own. we will definitely be back whenever we're visiting the area.

We came down for a weekend and came to this place because it was so close to our hotel. Our waiter, Sanjeev was attentive and knowledgeable. The clam chowder here is really good, the Della Bread & Butter (made in Petaluma) topped with the Parmesan is chef's kiss! I could eat this everyday The entrees although simple were very tasty. I just got the wood fired pizza, and my husband got the Waygu burger we both enjoyed our meals quite a bit. Everything we ate had such good flavor. This is a super casual place that looks pretty old, it has indoor and outdoor seating. Would be a great option for a large group. We will definitely return every time we're back in Sonoma. I have to say shout out to the management because all of the staff we encountered here were so friendly and helpful. P.S. Great parking too, there's a lot on the side of building.

Wow! Such a great experience! When I tell you the staff is exceptional; so kind and attentive. The food was great! So glad we went while we were in town.

Wow the service was amazing! Many attentive helpers...including a helper who asked if we were celebrating anything. We were and they provided a free dessert! The setting outdoors is so cute and beautiful (only do use bug spray if you are a tasty morsel for mosquitoes). We began our meal with drinks which included several delicious mixed drink options. Then after ordering, the waiter informed us that since several of our entries take a little more time to prepare they were comping us salads to begin our meal. So nice! All the entries were delicious! From the Asian salad, Laksa, salmon, pork chop through the rack of lamb...the presentation was beautiful and food great. This is definitely worth coming to!

I discovered the Mill at Glen Ellen several months ago and have been thrilled with each visit. The atmosphere is cozy and beautiful, and when the weather cooperates, they have a lovely outside deck seating area that overlooks a lush hillside highlighted by a gurgling creek flowing past. The staff is friendly and very attentive and the food is always delicious, unique and beautifully presented. One thing to keep in mind, this is a meal you don't want to rush. Our lunch lasted 2 hours, so make sure you don't have another engagement to rush to after you eat!

We absolutely love this place! We have been here several times and it's always a wonderful experience! I enjoyed the bread as an appetizer, which was delicious! I ordered the spicy tofu and it was delicious. The flatbread was also ordered and the clam soup. Everything I've tried here is delicious and everyone that works here is so friendly! Came here on Saturday morning with a reservation and were seated immediately! This place wasn't packed at 11 am but it was busy by 12:30 when we were starting to leave. Good: - The service here was stellar, they were so attentive! - The appetizers were great - we started with a clam chowder that accentuated the flavor of the olive oil uniquely and the brioche bread and bun was good too - The fried tofu was surprisingly flavorful and crispy! - The brussel sprouts were so soft - The wagyu beef burger was so juicy - The pizza was so good - house special came with a ton of ingredients - We got a dessert for free since it was two friends' birthdays! Bad: - It is a little slow service, but it's since they are newly staffing up! Overall what a cool experience! I loved the place and the ambiance was so good.

While exploring wine country for our first wedding anniversary, we stumbled upon The Mill in Glen Ellen the evening before our celebration. Although the sign said closed, the warm atmosphere drew us in--and to our surprise, the staff welcomed us with open arms, even after learning we were vegan and had already eaten elsewhere. They kindly walked us through the menu and chatted with us like old friends. When we mentioned our anniversary, what happened next truly touched us: lemon waters arrived on a tray, place settings appeared, and we were offered champagne and the most beautiful vegan chocolate mousse with berries and a candle--complimentary and unexpected. We weren't even dining guests that evening, yet they made us feel so celebrated. Their heartfelt hospitality was one of the highlights of our trip, and we can't wait to return for a proper meal. Highly, *highly* recommended.

Clam chowder soup was out of this world. Served piping hot. The ribeye with fresh vegetables cooked to perfection and mashed potatoes. The presentation of the meals is so lovely and the chef is outstanding. Oswaldo, our waiter is simply the best. I am so happy this restaurant survived the pandemic and they did so with flying colors. The entire staff is superb. Definitely a restaurant worth visiting.

The food is amazing not a fan of tofu you have to try theirs. The best i've ever eaten and I not a fan of it. Salads are great. Bun less burger is a must! Service they are on top of it and so nice. Ambiance next to a creek in Glen Ellen so relaxing. The owner is wonderful! We will be Back

The worst attitude yet of an establishment. Thhe declined serving us hot beverages unless we eat st with it. Rediculous.

I got a burger here and it was ok, and we got a pizza and it's literally the equivalent of a cafeteria quality frozen pizza that cost 35 bux!!! Absolute joke, it's not a bad place but the prices are laughable and the fact that it has all these reviews is just hilarious. Great service tho, just garbage overpriced pizza and an overpriced very mediocre burger.

A tasty place with an affordable set meal special that was great for our large group. Joined on a Sunday night with a group of 6. Reservations were easy to make ahead of time and we saw that a couple nights a week they had a set meal deal where you get an app, main, and dessert. Service was friendly and portions were large. We ordered a bottle of wine and were brought the wrong bottle, but it went well enough with the food anyway. I particularly enjoyed the butternut squash ravioli, super creamy. The rice pudding was very floral and tasty as well.

Plans changed and ten of us dropped in at 5:30pm Thursday night. They were able to adjust things and accommodate us. We were no longer serving lunch but let us order burgers. Burgers were great, very creative cocktails and the Arnold Palmer made out of homemade lemonade and John said, best he has ever had. John said lentil pancakes were great too. Two of us had clam chowder and that was creamy and tasty. Their patio is lovely and it was a beautiful night. Service impeccable and friendly. They don't split checks so we were creative getting our $$$ together. You can see why it is listed

What a lovely restaurant! The ambiance is delightful, tucked away among the trees near a babbling stream with a working mill wheel. The staff are kind, efficient and personable. And the food is delicious and creative. I'll definitely be visiting again.

From start to finish this is an amazing place to enjoy a fabulous meal and sit and spend time with your family or friends or that special someone. The servers are friendly attentive and polite also funny and lighthearted. We had appetizers, an entree, and desserts. Every dish brought to the table was elegant and healthy. Well worth the price. A must stop for locals and those visiting the area. Big points for first date! Make reservations!

We absolutely loved our time at the Mill at Glen Ellen. Our host was kind, knowledgable and equally friendly. The food was delicious and cocktails were fantastic. As a vegetarian, it was refreshing to find so many options and their vegetarian pizza was truly one of the best I've had in a while. The place itself is charming with a warm and fuzzy ambience. Highly highly recommend
