A great location for walking into town, along the walls and river. The car park was secure and free if you book direct with the hotel or £12 . You can stay in the car park until mid day on the day you check out. The room was comfortable and you are in control of the heating. Breakfast was all you’d expect. You need to book your time for breakfast. Staff were friendly. Very happy with our stay, all you’d expect!

My partner and I booked a room here for two night during the week as we wanted a leisurely stay. The cooked breakfast breakfast was delicious! The room had everything we needed and was the perfect location for shopping and visiting the centre of Chester. We even had use of the swimming pool and jacuzzi which was just what we needed! If we ever return to Chester, I have every faith that we would book this hotel again. Thank you for making us feel welcome.

A lovely hotel situated right in the canal, and within a 10 minute walk to the centre. The staff were very friendly, polite and welcoming. We even had a personal note and fudge in our room for our anniversary. The sun was shining so the bar outside was lovely to sit in. We went in the Spa on Sunday and again the staff were excellent, the pool of a good size, and great sauna and steam rooms. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious with lots of choice. Again with brilliant staff. Definitely would recommend this hotel and we will definitely be back. Thank you for an amazing stay

Great stay here. Large room which we were not expecting. We stayed for the Chester Marathon and were impressed by how the reception team managed such a busy weekend. Breakfast was good with hot and cold options. About 10 minutes walk to the centre of Chester and 15 minutes to the racecourse. Yes it’s not the most modern, but it’s clean and does the job. We would definitely stay again upon a return visit to a lovely city.

Hotel is central to all your requirements when visiting Chester and surrounding areas. Parking almost at the door. The hotel and all areas within it are really clean. Breakfast was well stocked and replenished often. Bar are is relaxing. Pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym were a bonus. The rooms are well furnished but the mattress and pillows in our allocated room could do with being replaced

You do not get value for the price you pay. ||The biggest let down is the poor quality of the breakfast items. The coffee is rank, in this day and age a coffee machine would be better than cheap coffee in a pot. The sausage is poor cheap processed meat. The scrambled egg lacks flavour and the orange juice is not exactly fresh. The seating in the dinning room needs replacing rather than covering them with tacky covers. ||The water from the hot tap is very hot in the bathroon. ||On a positive the bed is very comfy. It said Sky sports was inc and to try 800 but no sky sports came on. The swimming pool and gym as good though some of the gym equipment is getting old. ||If you don't need the gym or pool you would save pounds by booking in at one of the travelodges in the city centre and having a better quality breakfast at Wetherspoons!!

I stayed here as I was catching an early train to London the next day. The room was clean and comfortable. I dined in the hotel restaurant with my colleague. We both had the Welsh cawl, soup. It was delicious. Staff were courteously friendly and professional. A real treat.

Stayed here for two nights 3/10/25 they are very welcoming & helpful, shared a large Family room which had 2 doubles & one single it was comfortable also had Aircon which was a bonus because it was a little cold as we are now in October we had plenty of space & tv. The breakfast & the service was spot on they will go out of the depth to help you. The Spa Facilities was very clean & not to busy. My only disappointment was as the bathroom Shower! The water pressure from the taps on the bath even though we had it on the bare minimum on low the shower head was wobbling about the floor was soaking and dangerous & only a shower curtain/ you’d benefit if the shower head was lower on the fixtures to the wall. We also had free parking included but get there early as the car park was full on the day we was leaving.

Yelp
An old converted canal side Mill premises with a great many facilities inc Full pool and Spa ,several eating options including its own canal barge restaurant, and CAMRA list Real Ale bar. We stayed here for 3 nights chosen because of location ,CAMRA listed premises ,good value onsite parking . We stayed on the 5th floor in a standard room, which for two adults both with cases was a little small ,but ok for what we needed. Breakfast was buffet style and had the expected range of food and was OK. We would probably stay here again if visiting Chester it was handy for everything

Yelp
The room was nice as it had a bath and was quite spacious, but I'm giving 5 stars because of the spa! I had 2 amazing treatments at the spa and used the pool/sauna/hot tub. I had the best facial here and will definitely stay again if I return to Chester. My stay was so relaxing. It is located in a perfect spot between the train station and the city centre.

Yelp
I've never stayed in the hotel but I have used the bar and the gym although not at the same time :) The bar at the Mill Hotel has the widest selection of real ales that I've seen in Chester. From memory they usually have around twelve guest ales on at any one time. If you're in and around Chester and you like your ale the bar at the Mill is worth a visit. The gym is exceptionally well equipped and the staff are very knowledgeable. Unlike a lot of gyms the Mill Hotel gym is rarely over-crowded and this saves time hanging around waiting for machines.

Yelp
The Mill is quit a busy place as it is a Hotel, gym and restaurant(s) in one. The Hotel sits on both sides of a canal and the rooms on the side closest to the town are much better as this is the newer section hence these rooms are a couple of pounds more thou you are better of paying this as in the older part the rooms are ok but a little bit worn looking. The hotel offers a great breakfast what includes anything you could think of. There are a couple of restaurants in this hotel and including one on a barge what sits on the canal. The bar gets fairly busy but if you fancy something different that town centre is only a couple of minutes walk away. In general it's a good place as its very central

Yelp
This place is quite unique - it doesn't look that big on the outside, but it crams in quite a few features and options inlcuding several bars and restaurants (including one on a boat!) - as well as a cute little swimming pool and sauna plus a very well equipped gym. The rooms are basic but fine - the decor could do with updating but this isn't really a big problem. And if you get a good deal on price (they do seem to fluctuate quite a lot) then this is a great place to stay in the city. Made even better by the facilities on offer - so don't forget to pack your swimming gear.

Yelp
I really expected this to be a great place to go for a lot speciality beers, but it just didn't live up to expectation. It had sticky floors and the food did not look appetising. I would love to give it a better review as there were a lot of different beers on offer, but I'm afraid it needs an overhaul.

Yelp
Lovely hotel parking a little tight but hotel is an experience Canl trips withmeal and dinner dances on a weekend , Gym pool and all the amenities you need rooms fantastic can recommend.Bar down stairs serves guest beers and is a friendly funatmosphere popular meeting place not too far from town centre
