Absolutely fantastic Stay at this hotel Which was well located near the city and its shops nestling on the canalside. Hotel was spotlessly clean the staff were really helpful and attentive. The furniture and decor were really nice in the bar, reception and restaurant. Free parking was a definite bonus and so was the spa, gym and swimming pool. Bar was reasonably priced and we had good hearty breakfasts. The room was standard, the only criticism was the room temperature was quite warm but a fan was provided. Overall it was a very good stay and we would definitely be coming again. Thanks Mill and spa.

Had an excellent 4day stay. The Staff throughout the Hotel are all Friendly and helpful. Room was spacious, clean with a large comfy bed. Buffet breakfast was more than adequate. Good choices and well cooked. Parking was excellent for our needs. Hotel very convenient location. Recommend. And will Return .Thanks to Staff.

Lovely hotel, ideal location , friendly efficient staff, super breakfast, great facilities in the spa -so why not five star? The room!! We were in the spa side of the hotel, second floor. This room was on a level with a very busy dual carriageway and it was hot. No air con just a table fan. We had two almost sleepless nights, do we have the window open due to the heat? Traffic noise. Window closed? Too hot to sleep. This was a real shame as the trip was a ruby anniversary present. The rest of it was fabulous and Chester is a great place to visit just improve those rooms,

Stayed at The Mill Hotel in Chester for an evening with family this April, and it was just as lovely as my first visit back in December for my birthday. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and we had a great family room that was clean, spacious, and comfortable.||||The breakfast included in the stay was excellent – lots of choice and really well prepared. We also had a lovely view from our room, and the hotel’s location is ideal, just a short walk to the town centre.||||Although we didn’t get a chance to use the spa or pool this time, the facilities looked fantastic. All in all, a great stay once again, and I’m already looking forward to returning soon!

Staff are lovely, as a young-ish couple we did find the rooms and dining area very dated.|Catered to the older generation but we did have a nice stay. Rooms were very warm but it was high temps outside so can’t be helped! |Breakfast was ok.|Swimming area was small, I didn’t get to relax as much as I wanted as there are just chairs around the pool, I would prefer a bed to lie on and chill in between a swim, sauna/steam but not enough space to have them.

We had a two night stay to explore Chester. As our stay was so short the location was important and this was perfect. Ten minute walk from the railway station and even less to the bus station and City Centre. The bed was comfortable however the music from the bar filtered into the room which was a little annoying. We made use of the spa which had a pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. There was a slight odour in the changing area which was a bit unpleasant. My final little moan was that the breakfast was very average but was included in the room rate so can’t really complain. Staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all a very pleasant stay and good value for money. I would happily stay there again.

The Mill Hotel was a really great location for us in Chester. The service we received at the hotel, especially at breakfast and at the front desk, was very good. We stayed recently in June during the extreme hot weather. We wished there was some provisions in our room for the hotter weather as there is no air conditioning in their guest rooms. A very small desk fan was left in the storage unit in the room. This is not a very good solution to the lack of air conditioning. I would suggest that the hotel think of some other solutions that will offer relief to guests during this type of weather.

Yelp
An old converted canal side Mill premises with a great many facilities inc Full pool and Spa ,several eating options including its own canal barge restaurant, and CAMRA list Real Ale bar. We stayed here for 3 nights chosen because of location ,CAMRA listed premises ,good value onsite parking . We stayed on the 5th floor in a standard room, which for two adults both with cases was a little small ,but ok for what we needed. Breakfast was buffet style and had the expected range of food and was OK. We would probably stay here again if visiting Chester it was handy for everything

Yelp
The room was nice as it had a bath and was quite spacious, but I'm giving 5 stars because of the spa! I had 2 amazing treatments at the spa and used the pool/sauna/hot tub. I had the best facial here and will definitely stay again if I return to Chester. My stay was so relaxing. It is located in a perfect spot between the train station and the city centre.

Yelp
I've never stayed in the hotel but I have used the bar and the gym although not at the same time :) The bar at the Mill Hotel has the widest selection of real ales that I've seen in Chester. From memory they usually have around twelve guest ales on at any one time. If you're in and around Chester and you like your ale the bar at the Mill is worth a visit. The gym is exceptionally well equipped and the staff are very knowledgeable. Unlike a lot of gyms the Mill Hotel gym is rarely over-crowded and this saves time hanging around waiting for machines.

Yelp
The Mill is quit a busy place as it is a Hotel, gym and restaurant(s) in one. The Hotel sits on both sides of a canal and the rooms on the side closest to the town are much better as this is the newer section hence these rooms are a couple of pounds more thou you are better of paying this as in the older part the rooms are ok but a little bit worn looking. The hotel offers a great breakfast what includes anything you could think of. There are a couple of restaurants in this hotel and including one on a barge what sits on the canal. The bar gets fairly busy but if you fancy something different that town centre is only a couple of minutes walk away. In general it's a good place as its very central

Yelp
This place is quite unique - it doesn't look that big on the outside, but it crams in quite a few features and options inlcuding several bars and restaurants (including one on a boat!) - as well as a cute little swimming pool and sauna plus a very well equipped gym. The rooms are basic but fine - the decor could do with updating but this isn't really a big problem. And if you get a good deal on price (they do seem to fluctuate quite a lot) then this is a great place to stay in the city. Made even better by the facilities on offer - so don't forget to pack your swimming gear.

Yelp
I really expected this to be a great place to go for a lot speciality beers, but it just didn't live up to expectation. It had sticky floors and the food did not look appetising. I would love to give it a better review as there were a lot of different beers on offer, but I'm afraid it needs an overhaul.

Yelp
Lovely hotel parking a little tight but hotel is an experience Canl trips withmeal and dinner dances on a weekend , Gym pool and all the amenities you need rooms fantastic can recommend.Bar down stairs serves guest beers and is a friendly funatmosphere popular meeting place not too far from town centre
