The Mill in New Glasgow

My wife and I happen to love soup so we both had the Mediterranean seafood chowder for lunch. It's INCREDIBLE! My wife said it was the best soup of any kind that she had tasted in her life. The broth is very flavorful and it's full of muscles, a must try while in PEI.

Their food is really good. My husband and I went here during our wedding anniversary weekend. Ordered seafood chowder, mussels w/ spicy asian sauce and pad thai (1chicken & 1lobster). Seafood chowder is very hearty. The spicy asian sauce on their mussel is spot on. It’s what I’d get back home. Pad Thai is PHENOMENAL! It is real pad thai even though it’s missing bean sprouts (it’d probably be quite difficult to get them in PEO) but the flavor is spot on. We were so focused on the delicious meal we forgot to take a picture. Considering the taste and amount of food we were served I’d say it’s not actually that pricey. We ordered more thinking the serving was in small portions. 🤣

Really nice place, food was very good and the portions were huge! We ordered more than we can eat! I had the seafood chowder and the fish special and bread pudding for dessert. The staff was also really sweet to our kids even though our baby was pretty cranky. The high chair didn't really work out for our 7 month old and there was no buckle so might be worth bringing something if you have your own baby seat.

The mill has exceptional food The view is lovely and the staff are great We have been many times and it’s always a great experience 6 of us dined, 2 had the steak, 1 chicken, 1 Moroccan stew and 1 ribs and Mac and 1 salad. Everyone really enjoyed what they had! If you like Pad Thai, it’s sooo good

Absolutely amazing time, so glad we made this reservation. We were there for about 3 hrs, and the food and service was incredible. Our water made us laugh, and ensured we had a smooth service. The drinks were delicious, and the rhubarb spritz was excellent and would recommend! For food our favourite was the crab cakes, mezza platter, chocolate desert, and the pecan pie. My daughter (aged 10) ate the chocolate desert so quick, she absolutely loved it. You could taste the difference in between the two layers, and the mousse was decadent. Our only suggestion would be to add an extra crab cake as usually they are served in portions of 3 but beyond that, this was worth the experience everything was fresh, the fish was light and beef cooked tender. Will come again, thank you for an excellent night!

I have always had delicious meals at the Mill. I had another wonderful dinner last night while enjoying views of the river at sunset. The staff has always been friendly and helpful. I particularly recommend the stuffed chicken breast and the lobster Pad Thai. My husband always loves the chocolate mousse cake. I had a wonderful almond blueberry bread pudding with whiskey sauce. Highly recommended!

Just had a wonderful experience - almost cannot believe this is my first time here but will not be the last. Atmosphere is so wonderful - the staff are all so welcoming and friendly. The food was AMAZING!!! I had the steak and it was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The salad was so fresh you would think the greens were just picked and the dressing was very tasty. My wife had the Pad-Thai and I was enviously watching her - that will be my next order. And my 4 year old loved his pizza - such a great evening experience. Portions were great - had to take the pie home in a take out tray.

Amazing spot with amazing food! They treated us like family from the moment we walked in. We arrived just over an hour before closing, but they were still super welcoming and accommodating. Picked up some pasta salads to take to the beach the next day, and they were just as delicious. The mussels in the spicy Asian sauce are sooo good! Can’t wait to come back.

What a great experience! Partner and I were staying in the area while spending a couple days in PEI. After eating too much seafood to think about, we needed a place that looked fresh and comfortable. The Mill exceeded our expectations. Some of the best roasted ribs I have ever had, and the mac and cheese was crusty, airy, and so good. The pad thai was also incredible and enough to feed a small family in one plate. Chef Wells does it right. Also important to note; I suggest calling ahead for a reservation, we were extremely lucky and were sat after calling about 30 minutes prior. However, don't be us and give them lots of notice.

Huge portions. Great service! Call ahead to make a reservation. We had crab cakes, beef and chicken pad Thai all pretty good.

We walked in one minute to closing thinking they would turn us away, which was ok. The host checked with one of the waiters that gladly seated us upstairs where two parties of 4 were still in full swing of their meals. We were seated in a cozy corner and promptly given water, bread,and menus. Each of us on the hungry side from it being late after a long motorcycle ride dove into the homemade crusty bread which was fresh and light. For a main dish I got the mussels which I had wanted since I was last in PEI 20 years ago. My boyfriend got the steak and ordered it medium well. When he got it it was more on the rare to medium-ish. Not wanting to deal with sending it back he ate it anyways. My mussels were good but it's hard to screw that up. I would come back but make sure to be more descriptive about the steak doneness.

In my years of coming to the island and years in the culinary field this was by far the best meal I've ever had on the island(been coming for 20 years) and definitely in the top 5 of the well over a thousand restaurants I've eaten in the US. All facets of our meals were very tasty and very well prepared. Our server Ceirra and assistants did a fantastic job. Our party of seven enjoyed many portions of the menu and there were zero complaints on any level. Great wines, spritzers, mixed drinks, local beers, loved the Thai mussels, every entree especially the Tuna Stew special were all great. I enjoyed the Chocolate Zucotto Cake immensely as did several of our party whom had the Frozen Maple Mousse. We also really enjoyed the dinner music.

Great price quality! Rustic dining room (we were on 2nd floor), delicious and well executed cuisine with an asian flair. We loved the crab cakes and prime rib. The kids meals were really good for the price (12$?). I got a few ready made food to reheat for the next day at a very decent price. Service was very attentive too for such a young lady.

Lovely dining experience. The ribs/macaroni and cheese was tender and wonderfully seasoned. The Halibut was very good (perhaps a smidge over cooked which took a bit away from the butteriness of the fish). The wait staff were attentive and friendly.

If you're a foodie you will love this restaurant. A real culinary experience from start to finish. Enjoy the view and enjoy a leisurely meal. The food is exceptional and the staff is lovely. I love that our meal was not rushed and we were given time to enjoy each course. A must when you visit New Glasgow!

Fancier than I'd thought it would have been. Staff was able to squeeze us in with minimal wait, in the future I'd make reservations. Going right at sunset with the pond in the back ground was a superb evening setting. I got the Pad Thai, didn't think it would be as good as it was. It wasn't near as spicy as I like it, but my waitress was more than willing to bring me a giant bottle of siracha for me to make it spicer. The building has a lot of character and history. Love how they incorporated some of the history into the surrounding photos. This will be a stop on my list in the future.

While we didn't eat here, I found our experience very frustrating. We walked in to buy bread to take with us on the road. There were two parties ahead of us, and I didn't see anyone seated at a table. There are no menus printed, so it is expected to choose from the posted chalkboard menu and put in your order at the counter. Then you will be seated. There was only one staff member and things moved slowly. They assumed that everyone was there to eat when we were not, and another group that came in after us also just wanted food from the refrigerated case. The food may be fantastic, but the service is lacking.

I love this restaurant but lately the service has been an issue unfortunately I think they need more staff .We have been back three times and hope that we can move on .We are trying it again and hope the service is better .

We went to the Mill last evening - a group of five. I had the Thai curry - mildly spiced but delicious. Two of the group had the Tuscan ribs which were meaty and flavourful. The portions were large and well prepared. Best part was the staff. They were attentive and really added to the fun. One of the us was celebrating a birthday and they made it special with a complementary dessert.
