The 22 Best Things to Do in Oslo in 2025

"I mentioned the Mini Bottle Gallery as a quirky, off‑the‑beaten‑path museum housing over 50,000 bottles filled with everything from food to bones and worms; note it’s only open on weekends." - Matthew Kepnes

Great fun, even for non-drinkers! Tickets are very reasonable for a museum, there’s no queue or crowds (at one point we had the whole upper floor to ourselves), and the exhibits were a lot more interactive and imaginative than we expected. Would absolutely recommend. The staff was also lovely and gave us a quick and interesting intro to the museum.

I visited the Mini Bottle Gallery for a work event and left feeling somewhat underwhelmed. To be fair, that might have been more due to the event itself than the gallery, but overall the experience didn’t quite live up to expectations. The concept, a vast collection of miniature bottles displayed across several rooms, is certainly unique and could be fascinating for anyone with an interest in curiosities or design. However, the presentation and interior felt a bit dated, and at times the exhibition came across as slightly gimmicky rather than truly engaging. There is also a mix of other miniature objects, not just bottles. One room, called “the brothel,” includes some tongue-in-cheek elements that might amuse some visitors but felt a bit random to me. There was also an additional “Nordic light” experience, which I personally didn’t find very captivating, though others might enjoy it. It is worth noting that I wasn’t there specifically for the Mini Bottle Gallery itself, so perhaps I didn’t experience it in the right context. In any case, it is an unusual spot that might appeal to those who enjoy quirky, off-beat attractions. It just wasn’t quite my thing.

My wife and I stumbled upon this gallery while walking somewhere. There was no one inside but we entered anyway. There are 1000s of miniature bottles. The displays are magnificent. Whoever put this gallery together deserves congratulations.

Had the pleasure of having my wedding here and it was superb. From the planning, to set the setup, to the evening itself, everything was excellent. Kristin and her colleagues really helped making our day special. We had the whole museum to ourselves and all the guests were given a tour. Excellent food and service from Statholdergaarden. The guests had so much fun at this venue and made everyone feel relaxed with low shoulders. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and fun event space with delicious food.

A Hidden Gem in Oslo! I recently visited the Museum of Mini Bottles in Oslo, and it was truly an unforgettable experience! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with an impressive and quirky collection of miniature bottles from all over the world. Each bottle tells its own story, and the diversity is absolutely astonishing. Whether you're a fan of history, culture, or unique collectibles, this museum has something special for everyone. The staff was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the collection, which made the tour even more enjoyable. They were eager to share interesting anecdotes and details about some of the rarest pieces on display. I was amazed by the variety—vintage, limited editions, and even bottles with fascinating designs and origins. The museum itself is well-organized, and it’s clear that a lot of thought and care went into curating this one-of-a-kind exhibition. It’s a great way to spend a couple of hours and learn something new in a fun, relaxed setting. Overall, I highly recommend visiting this charming and unique museum. It’s a must-see for anyone visiting Oslo, and you’ll leave with a newfound appreciation for these tiny treasures!

Had the pleasure of hosting a closing dinner at the Gallery. A different, but very interesting museum that's definitely worth visiting on its own. Combined with a guided tour, a chambre separé (Likørværelset, in our case) and truly excellent food from Statholdergaarden, this was an evening that will live long in the memory for all the right reasons.
