The hotel is beautifully decorated/designed. We really enjoyed the blending of the historic architecture with the contrasting modern/eclectic furnishings. Our room was extremely comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed drinks in the lobby while listening to the live music. The “Dill Fries” were also delicious. When the music ended, we were able to walk to a variety of different restaurants in the immediate area for dinner. Would stay again in a heartbeat.

My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel during our first visit to Colorado Springs. The hotel is historic, and is located in downtown Colorado Springs close to lots of things, including restaurants, and bars. Downtown Colorado Springs has a lot of awesome art, including wall murals on buildings, and sculptures at different points around the city. The hotel lobby is gorgeous, with large windows all the way around the building and fine interior details, a great coffee place and a bar that has appetizers and drinks from 3 to 10 PM. Our room was the perfect size for the two of us with a spacious bathroom and large shower and large windows with views of downtown Colorado Springs. Valet parking is pricey, but the valet advised us we could self park our car literally down the street for less than half the price. There’s a new Italian restaurant attached to the hotel but we did not get a chance to try it. Looked really nice. We would definitely stay at the hotel again as the staff and the overall experience were wonderful.

Rooms are spacious and well furnished. Exceptional attention to detail with the design, both aesthetically and functionally. The staff were all polite and felt welcoming. The docked star is due to an experience we had while trying to extend our stay. The woman we spoke to was disinterested in helping us and was actually rude despite there being openings. We elected to spend our remaining time at another hotel.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, the customer service was top-notch. The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making check-in smooth and welcoming. The valet parking team was just as impressive—always courteous and efficient, making us feel right at home.||What really stood out was how warm and accommodating everyone was. It’s rare to find a place where the staff truly go out of their way to ensure you’re comfortable, but this hotel nailed it.||The location is another huge plus—right near restaurants and surrounded by plenty of things to do. Whether you’re here for business or leisure, it’s a perfect spot to stay.||We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area and look forward to returning in the future!

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the hotel. Our flight to Colorado was delayed and we arrived late. The check in was so easy and the staff were great. The room was wonderful - clean and comfortable. The coffee in the morning was delicious and the service was exceptional! All the staff from beginning to end made our stay amazing! I would highly recommend the hotel.

A historic good-looking building in the heart of town, centrally located, with plenty of local restaurants to walk to. The hotel has their own dinner place, Oro, a semi- fancy italian place, as well as breakfast stuff for sale in the mornings and bakeries or diners within walking distance. No coffee makers in the rooms, which forced an unbathed me into the lobby every morning in wrinkled clothes and crazy hair, just to get a cup of joe. The staff, especially Jill at the front desk, as well as their valet guys were all very welcoming and eager to help. Plan on valet parking if you bring a car. Too many derelicts roaming the streets at night, to leave a new rental out there, though we never felt afraid in the daylight hours. You might be able to get by with tennis shoes and uber, depending upon your plans. The lobby, maybe their best asset. was large, gorgeous, architecture. spacious, with large windows and with plenty of extremely comfortable seating, great for chatting and people watching. Some interesting, albeit, very peaceful, people went by, from a political rally this weekend, but it’s,usually quiet and calm out there. Anyhow, rooms were spotless, spacious and quiet on the 5th floor. Nearly zero street noise. No riff-raff among the clientele. Will consider returning, just to stay at the hotel, enjoy the fresh air, and tour the lovely countryside.

This hotel is so nice. I was here for a conference and looking at the Marriott and Hilton properties but opted for this instead. So glad I did. The hotel has been recently renovated - you can tell in the rooms and the beautiful carpeting. Everything smells new. The interiors are out of this world - tastefully done, and the service is above par. Kind and thoughtful staff who make it their job to make sure you have the best experience possible. This place is a cute photography area, saw some couples getting photographs done here.

The hotel room was good HOWEVER, I had to cancel my credit card due to them fraudulently charging multiple charges over the last three days. I spoke with the front desk multiple times as well as calling today and not one person was able to help. They have lied multiple times about removing these charges and the additional charges they claim never came from them. It has been a horrible experience dealing with this issue and I encourage you to proceed with caution when booking with this hotel. The rooms don’t exceed this horrible service.

Yelp
I loved staying at this boutique hotel in downtown Colorado Springs. Right smack-dab in the heart of everything - walking distance to restaurants, pubs & parks. The rooms are nicely remodeled and include "very" comfortable beds and pillows, a walk-in shower fit for royalty (complete with nice products), and the room was decorated with art by local artists. If I had any feedback it was the room was a little sparse - I noticed several walls were completely bare - but hey, a minor complaint. One side of the hotel has additional artwork featured in the stairway. Check it out if you're there! It's a nice way to show off local talent. But to me, the standout is the lobby, complete with comfy couches, chairs, and lounge spaces that say "welcome: stay awhile." The coffee shop puts out amazing java (see my separate review) and I shared a glass of wine with a friend at the adjacent lounge. I did not have time to check out the spa or the downstairs fitness room. They do a creative job of carrying the "mining" theme throughout the hotel: the lobby features the names of local mines in Colorado; and if you need a little therapy, you can ask for your own healing crystal to be sent up to your room! They offer unique events, such as mini massages, tarot/palm readings, and feature local talent. Friendly service, tastefully decorated rooms & guest spaces, and a cool (& welcoming) vibe, this hotel is a tremendous ambassador for my old hometown. I'll definitely return!

Yelp
Exquisite hotel. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and spacious. Lobby had an incredible flow, phenomenal employees, and incredible decor. No need to look anywhere else when we come back in April! Thanks!

Yelp
For a quick reunion and quick weekend stay we checked in late..around 11pm. Jill at the front desk was absolutely delightful and chatted with us as she checked us in. After check in she even gave us 2 vouchers for breakfast at their market ....very grateful because it covered the fri am and sat am and even the sun coffee before flying. We didn't rent a car but Uber and Lyft....I can't speak on the valet but they were on it while we waited. It's a perfect spot...walkable and a parking garage right down the street. The rooms...perfect for us however my only only negative was where we stayed we could hear the club next door. While I tried to sleep I heard it louder than other times. I had great sleep in the bed and absolutely loved the showers. I think if the club could soundproof some or the hotel...it'd be perfect. I still give 5 stars because overall it was great. Inside was clean and everyone was nice. I would stay here again for sure. 5.other people from our group stayed there. I was not sure if i would at first because the reviews were so varied. I'm glad we did.

Yelp
I just witnessed on social media live, a racial incident involving hotel staff and a famous guest of this hotel. This social media live took place in the lobby, showing hotel staff racially profiling the guest while sitting in the lobby minding his own business. They persisted in questioning him to prove himself as a hotel guest, while other non-black guests set in the lobby, not being bothered or questioned by the same staff asking them to show proof of their names and room numbers.

Yelp
We came up from Denver for an event and while the hotel is pretty and rooms are spacious and clean. Unfortunately the staff not so friendly. We had issues checking in which we forego because we had an event but on the way out Mitchell at the front desk was extremely defensive, from the time we got to the desk. From us inquiring about valet to us calmly explaining to him the changing of credit cards from us to a 3rd party. My husband had to ask him to lower his voice twice.

Dani T.

Yelp
Absolutely everything about this hotel is top-notch. We enjoyed the most amazing customer service I think we've ever ever had in any hotel -ever! from the front desk going out of their way for us from the smiles and happy greetings we constantly received from the people at the front door- and the coffee shop service was pleasant and happy even at that early and busy morning time. I think we just don't really expect that level of customer service anymore and it was so refreshing! The lobby, the lounge and the bar area are just absolutely gorgeous. You just keep marveling at all the furniture and the way they have decorated with the mid- century modern aesthetic absolutely perfectly. (Obviously that needs to be your thing - and it is ours.) Rooms were nice -small -but well appointed and comfortable. Don't know why we need to go to Colorado Springs again, but we would just to stay at this hotel one more time!

Yelp
This hotel is amazing. Great customer service, love the decor, and love the history. Located right in the middle of downtown, it was easy to get to the places we wanted to go. Amber in particular helped make our stay enjoyable, we had an issue with our room the first night and she took care of it right away. Will definitely stay here again!

Karen A.

Yelp
Was in town for three days to sightsee and visit a friend. This hotel is absolutely gorgeous- great vibe and tastefully decorated. We stayed in a silver king and the room was long and narrow so it was awkward when watching tv. The linens had a nice subtle scent, unlike the bleach smell a lot of hotels use. Ate breakfast in the lobby and it was delicious. Would appreciate an in-room coffee maker so I can have my first cup before getting dressed. Very friendly staff.

T. D.

Yelp
What nice atmosphere this hotel brings. Jill at the front desk checked us in and gave us some history about the establishment. The employees are incredibly gracious and accommodating. It was convenient and nice to have the coffee shop in the lobby with all its warmth and comfort. Rooms have been renovated and are very clean. Parking is street, valet, or nearby garage so we elected to make it easy and valet at the extra cost.

Yelp
Well let's just say I am shocked how poor this place is post remodel. I have been coming here for over 2 years and supported them during the remodel. My first time back when it's fully open. The past super service great valet service and loved the fireplace on cold days and great vibe. Well pull up to valet and nobody there. Go inside and loud music blasting with about a dozen people sitting waiting on rooms to be cleaned. Now this is Sunday close to 4pm. Next I get my room 40 minutes later with running toilet, no working Wi-Fi in the room,TP holder is screwed into wall crooked so pull the paper roll and it slides off rod onto the floor, shower door handle smash's into tile wall when open less than 90 degree. Window in room is cracked from one side to the other. The music blasting in lobby is not only loud but just random stuff from jazz to tripping LSD rock and then banjo music. I called work in the lobby drinking a coffee and boss asked was I in a bar what is that crap blasting. I got a cold coffee in a plastic 8 oz cup that tasted like something drained out of mine shaft for about 4 bucks. It feels like you're in a crappy wannabe Starbucks vibe with the help that are clueless. Brought some issues up Monday and the lady at front desk said sorry but manager is not available and maybe you should call ahead to get car. So how do I call ahead with no phone in the room or valet contact number? Seems like a poor plan. Another customer told me there is some stupid text message way but no clue on those details. Tuesday valet is still AWOL and cars are stacked in green zone. Circled block for 20 minutes to finally get my car shoehorned between two cars. Got inside and ask to speak to manager and she refused saying he was in a meeting which happened to be 20 feet from the front desk. He was just chatting with somebody but way too busy to see a loyal customer or the cars stacked up at the curb with customers floundering in dangerous traffic trying to get stuff out of their cars. A few double parked in traffic to get their passengers out and a complete and utter safety issue. At this point I have had enough of this crappy service. I am done with this place and clearly a culture and management change happened for the worse. I checked out and finally got a manager. He was sorry and well we have no control over music and he seemed to blow off my valet concerns. The room issues well he just will look into it. Great as I am leaving. It's not a cheap stay here and there are plenty of options.

Deangelo P.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel poor staffing nothing was welcoming unfortunately your skin colour is an issue for a paying customer drinking coffee in the lobby get it together I would never ever recommend.

Souzana V.

Yelp
My company booked a night's stay for me here for a work retreat. The hotel main area is getting renovated. After our first long day of the work retreat, my colleague and I went to check into our rooms. I was on the fifth floor. The room was very nice. Probably one of the nicer rooms I've had in work history. Lol when I opened the door, there's like a mini foyer area and off to the left is the bathroom area and then straight ahead is the bedroom area. It was an elegant little room. I love how they furnished the room simply and made it feel a little back in the days. It can even pass for a romantic night too. I love the shower and took a very long shower there. Lol I really enjoyed my night and the front desk staff were friendly. I wouldn't mind staying here again.

Emily L.

Yelp
I have now stayed twice here and both experiences were great. No on site parking, but they have Valet which is about $50/night. The hotel is nice and cozy and within walking distance to their downtown. Complimentary waters both times I stayed. Welcoming staff. I love the bathroom! and the old bank vault downstairs.

Yelp
Having new paint, trendy wallpaper, and an upgraded lobby will not make up for the horrific customer service/care I received on March 18. All morning while drinking coffee I saw employees proudly show the new amenities to people in the lobby, but when it came to my elevator malfunction, management disappeared. I booked two nights. After the first morning, the elevator dropped and we were stuck in the elevator. My daughter was terrified. The Colorado Springs Fire department had to put a ladder in the elevator, then we had to climb through the small space they had pried open for us. The hotel staff acted like they were doing me a great favor by covering my night, and I had to push for a second night voucher (which I have not gotten, and honestly do I want to go back)? My children had no desire to spend our vacation here any longer, due to safety. There was little to no empathy, and I had to go to the front desk and wait in line to discuss what had happened. No true feeling of care was made except the valet and fire department, who actually seemed to sympathize about my experience. Management wouldn't even come out, while an employee was going to the back room to "negotiate" my experience like a used car salesman. They seemed pretty annoyed by what I went through and the scene it caused. To top it off, as I was leaving the hotel, desk staff and the barista immediately stopped talking and stared at me like I was doing a walk of shame for leaving the hotel early. I have never in my lifetime had such a negative experience at a hotel.

Adam D.

Yelp
What a place to visit! I think that the only thing that this hotel doesn't have is free breakfast (or a coffee machine in the room) but when you consider the quality of the experience you're in for then free breakfast doesn't even register and the coffee in the coffee shop downstairs is so good that you won't even notice you're paying for it. The rooms are unique and quaint and make you feel like you're home even when you're not. The hardwood flooring takes you back in time and the colors calm you. The bathrooms are beautiful and lack absolutely nothing (in my opinion) and its location is top-notch! Couldn't be happier with my choice to stay here!

Yelp
Closer to 2 and 1/2 Stars. Here at The Mining Exchange we encountered a (non)-typical $200+ per night - *no frills hotel. No bathrobes, no breakfast etc. The staff are warm and welcoming. The downtown location is ideal. The hotel itself is filled with historic ambiance. Aesthetics: Our room (407) has seen better days. We stayed in an executive room and truth be told; the only difference between a standard room and an executive room - is a chair and small table in a corner. Functionality: Our pillows were foam and uncomfortable. The bed was okay, it is considered to be a hotel king and *much smaller than our residential king (who knew)? The Art light didn't work, light up make-up mirror did not work, the television was glitchy, the coffee maker consistently made a half cup of coffee, the walls were scuffed and dirty, windows dirty, carpet and flooring could use a deep clean. Clearly this room could use some revitalization and maintenance. Noise: We could hear someone's dog barking nearby and the friendly housekeeping staff going about their duties - early in the mornings. We were offered a different room but the room we were offered had some of the same issue and a less appealing view. The Mining Exchange has potential.

Brittany W.

Yelp
I am leaving this review because of the valet service. The staff was very professional and friendly. Other perks of the hotel to mention: the atmosphere. The lobby is so cozy and inviting. I would also recommend the hotel spa. Very relaxing!

AnaLea C.

Yelp
Stayed 2 nights, cannot wait to come back! Coffee here was the best we had during our visit in CO. Lobby was beautiful and rooms exceeded expectations. It is also a close walking distance to several restaurants and activities.

Lia L.

Yelp
The Hotel was recently renovated and very nicely decorated, location was good, but the incident that took place is the sole purpose for my 1 star review. We stayed in room 529, a corner handicap-accessible room. Upon entering, there is a vestibule with the bathroom straight ahead, an archway to the room on the left, and a full-length mirror on the wall to the left of the door before the archway to the bedroom. From the door, you can only see the bed. Once you walk through the archway, there's open space to the right of the bed, a chaise against the wall with the window, and a desk to the right of the window. On the morning of our checkout, we had the "Do Not Disturb" sign on the door. Due to the expensive valet charge, we had parked in a nearby garage. My husband left to bring the car around while I was still in the room getting ready. Less than a minute after he left, I heard the door open again--without a knock or announcement. I was naked in the open area of the bedroom next to the chaise lounge, about to get dressed. Thinking my husband had returned, I looked in the full-length mirror and was shocked to see it wasn't him but a tall, bald man (hotel housekeeping). I screamed, "Someone is in here! Please leave!" and crouched to the ground, trying to hide. Instead of leaving immediately, the man saw me in the reflection of the mirror and walked through the archway into the bedroom, staring at me naked crouched to the ground in shock for what felt like an eternity, but was probably around 7-8 seconds, while I screamed, "Get out of here!" It was extremely creepy, and I felt incredibly violated. After he left, I heard him yell to a woman down the hall, "You said it was empty!" I burst into tears. My husband worked for Marriott for 10 years, and in my lifetime of staying at hotels, I have never experienced anything like this. Housekeeping always knocks and announces themselves before entering, giving you time to respond. If they do open the door, they look away immediately upon realizing someone is inside. We had two people registered to the room, and housekeeping saw only one person exit. Moreover, the "Do Not Disturb" sign was on the door handle and we had not checked out. Housekeeping should never mark a room as empty unless they know the guests have checked out, which we hadn't, as it was 10 AM and checkout was at 12 PM. I called the front desk and spoke with Mitchell. He apologized and said they would offer some compensation at checkout. When we checked out, he offered us $100 off our stay, which felt insulting given the situation. After what happened, we should have been refunded for our entire three-night stay. Eventually, he agreed to comp our final night. I accepted but told him I would be writing a review on every website and outlet I could find.

Joseph R.

Yelp
I was a little lost on "The Mining Exchange" title, but after talking to "J" at the front desk the meaning is pretty cool. She was awesome. I've never met a Front Desk Agent so passionate, helpful, and welcoming. She knew the full history along with sharing a map and historical photos.  The room was clean and very spacious with a large shower with two shower heads, and C.O.  Bigelow toiletries. The entire building and hallways were also very clean with no smell. Oh, the bedroom had a pretty cool exposed brick outlining the window.  If you're a fan of coffee/tea there's a little counter with a Keurig K-Mini along with glasses. I should also mention that the alarm clock has built in attachments for iphone/android products as well. I don't recall a pool, but there is a Spa and fitness center.

Kris F.

Yelp
Lovely hotel and comfortable room. We stayed during the renovation but the staff was pleasant and helpful. We will come back to this place and look forward to their courtyard with love music.

Heywood M.

Yelp
Under construction, which is one thing. Not KNOWING that they're under construction when I direct book is another. And they block off the main entrance (has giant signs saying "Construction Entrance Only") but the entire time I'm there (and especially in the morning) I'm weaving around electricians dragging rolling tool boxes, sheetrockers, construction folks parading in and out the so-called guest entrance. And the look everywhere is rough--cardboard covering the walls, open walls into the construction areas, the windows to the street in what used to be the main lobby just piled with construction crap and boxes, etc., etc. I've been in hotels being remodeled and this is the worst looking transition ever. And management needs to walk the building. On arrival, there's a pile of construction cardboard in the hallway where I'm staying. Two days later, at checkout, that pile is still there. And the nightly room price is what I have paid in the past. That's COMPLETELY wrong. Staff was extremely friendly and nice, but the property is frankly a shambles right now. And not worth the $250 a night.

Eugene S.

Yelp
Not a pleasant experience for people of color. They will follow you around and make you very uncomfortable in the common areas. Hit this spot on my way to Sturgis, big mistake.

Daryl T.

Yelp
Hotel is in the middle of a remodel. If you're a fan of construction crews, half of the building being inaccessible and most of the rooms vacant, this is your place! My room was adequate. The bed was very hard and the sofa in the room was equally hard. The fact that it's 2023 and not a single USB port in the room screams they need to keep up with the times. No room service available, but I'm hopeful for a visit in the future that'll have the place fully updated and something that can actually compete with the Hyatt Place right down the street.

Brandon F.

Yelp
5/5 ease of checking in 3/5 amenities 4/5 room quality 5/5 location 2/5 parking options I chose to stay here during a fun trip to Colorado Springs. I booked the reservation on Priceline. I stayed for one night from Saturday to sunday. I called at 12pm to see if they would let me check-in early since it isn't normally til 4pm and they happily accommodated! I also had a bike with me which had no issue being allowed in the hotel and bright to my room. The building itself is beautiful and historic. The building was originally where people would exchange gold and silver. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a pool or hot tub and has a very tiny gym. The bar is only open a handful of hours in the evening, and there is a nice patio space. If you want amenities this is not the spot. Our room was nice. It was small, but had great exposed brick design, comfy bed, double shower head shower, and clean sink and toilet. The location downtown is unbeatable. We had access to old old town, downtown, Manitou Springs, memorial park, and garden of the gods. The worst thing here is there is not great parking options. It's $25 a day for valet or metered parking is outside for $1.50 per hour during the hours of 8am to 10pm. There are a few parking garages around as well. We opted for metered parking since we wouldn't be parked the whole day and will be using our car. Luckily on sundays the meters do not start until 1pm I would probably try other hotels if I came back to the springs but definitely recommend

Yelp
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL NOT WORTH THE MONEY F-Rating We strolled into Colorado Springs for the Labor Day Lift Off and decided to stay at the Mining Exchange for its location and close proximity to restaurants and the park where the event was being held. To start our experience, we checked in went to our rooms to find that someone had thrown up on the carpet right Infront of the room we were given. We jumped over the vomit to use the room phone to call the front desk to advise them. There was NO PHONE in the room to call the front desk. So we jumped over the vomit again went down the elevator to the lobby and advised the front desk who took care of it right away. Our first night in our room which had a connecting door was loud and terrible. The occupants of the room next door were part of a bachelorette party and they decided to bring the after party to their room with over 20 females in one room intoxicated. Yelling and laughing from about 10pm to about 4am. I could not call downstairs because the room did not have a phone and did not want to get up, get dressed and walk down to the lobby so i put on my headphones and tried to whiteout the noise. This worked fine till about 2am when my headphones died. At 2am i got fed up walked downstairs to complain only to find that the lobby and whole street was surrounded by Colorado Springs PD because a police pursuit ended with the getaway car ramming into multiple parked Valet cars parked out front. Our car was just 2 cars away from where the pursuit ended. Even though the front lobby had their hands full they sent security up to check on the noise and the room. They knocked on their door and told them to stay quiet which did not work and 1 hour later i had to go back downstairs and complain again. I asked for another room but the hotel was booked and were unable to move me rooms till the morning. After he second complaint, security called all occupants out of the noisy room and the noise stopped. Only 1 hour left till we had to get up and go to the Labor Day Lift Off event, so we had little to no sleep. Then at our checkout as we got on the elevator with all our bags the elevator got stuck and we were unable to open the door for 10 minutes. Finally we got out were able to use the stairs and walk down 5+ luggages between 4 people. Other issues this hotel has is a very narrow hallway in the lobby in and out of the elevators. With construction going on in an already narrow space. There is no coffee bar in the rooms at all, no telephones in the rooms. The lobby has a pitiful coffee station that can be found better at your local holiday inn for the price you are paying here. Parking is only valet at $45 dollars a day and if you want to self park it really becomes a mission.

Arnold S.

Yelp
First of all, whoever is the manager of this hotel should be fired! This is the most disorganized hotel we have ever stayed in. We read all the AMENITIES and thought we would spend a little more and get a lot more. First of all, we paid over $230 for the Queen Premium room. The city view was the building next door, the only chair was an office chair, there was no coffee machine, no mini refrigerator, no bath robes, no two headed shower. I had to go down and ask for a coffee machine and the bath robes. They brought up the machine and coffee pods but no cups. I had to go down AGAIN to get coffee cups and all they had was large which did not fit in the machine. I would safe money and hassle and go to a Motel 6 for a better room than we got here.

Yelp
Over the last week we traveled through 11 states, and due to weather detours found ourselves in Colorado Springs. While this wasn't our favorite hotel on our trip, it is a very close second. (Our top is Hotel Bothwell in MO, bed quality is the only thing separating them right now.) Having had good experiences with historic buildings as hotels we were excited to see this, and weren't disappointed. Gorgeous building even though it is under renovation! The staff are truly wonderful. Jill at the front desk and Carson at valet helped us get our bearings and find a great late dinner. The room was spacious and so comfortable. Guys, if you go....feel the drapes, gorgeous heavy velvet. I know, no one sleeps on drapes but this is about attention to detail. And, AND, at a reasonable price! I can not wait for an excuse to visit after the renovations are complete! See you again someday, Mining Exchange!

Sana K.

Yelp
Very beautiful hotel. Very beautiful rooms. Love all the detail in the bathroom. Beautiful decor and furnishings. Great location. Walking distance to all the locations in Colorado springs. Great views of the springs landscape and the mountains. Bar area is nice as well. Beautiful lobby

Carlos I.

Yelp
We also noticed some of the issues mentioned by other reviewers: the bedside lights are older and falling apart. The front desk is not very helpful although some of the employees were very nice. The rooms on the second floor, facing the street, are very loud with traffic and city noise. The TV/AV setup in the room is also outdated. This is Colorado Springs (a small, simple town) so take everything with a grain of salt.

Blaine B.

Yelp
Under construction and disorganized No hotel parking. Was told to park our bikes a block away at the city parking garage.

Suzanne M.

Yelp
Terrible hotel, under construction. Do not stay there. No turn down service, no room service, would not refund my last night. The manager declined it. I had to leave one night early due to snow storm. No restaurant service on Monday or Tuesday, no maids to be seen. Great bartenders and valets and front clerk by the name of Jill. Never stay at this hotel.

The Mining Exchange was an incredible place to host my client event. My guest commented on the hotel "charm and character", great location, and amazing event space. The hotel served a delicious breakfast and lunch with an excellent presentation for our event. This wasn't your typical "hotel food", this was true restaurant-quality by a chef who cared. The omelet station was definitely a hit. Alysee Barfell, the group Sale Manager, was super easy to work with and was patient with me as my event continued to evolve and change. They went above and beyond to accommodate some last-minute requests from guests.

Yelp
Stayed just one night but enjoyed the historic vibe of the Mining exchange. Rooms are spacious with super high ceilings and comfortable beds with a nod to old school charm. The staff was warm and friendly. This is an upscale hotel with a modest price. We will definitely stay here again!

Yelp
I have stayed here twice and it is a very nice hotel. Great service. Friendly and responsive. Everything looks clean and is well organized. The restaurant is very reasonable and tasty too. No complaints here. Slam dunk.

Yelp
Beds are so comfortable I couldn't believe I was in a hotel bed!! Friendliest door man I've met in a while! Restaurant off the hotel as well as a sit in bar. Tenon street is nearby with various night spots--which means you hear sirens Thru the night. I would stay again!

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay at the Mining Exchange. It's a beautiful hotel. The staff are friendly and attentive from the staff who came out as soon as we pulled up to the curb and held the door for us to the check-in staff to the housekeeping staff. This time, we didn't visit the spa or the gym, but they are wonderful. We truly just enjoyed the view and being downtown. We had a lovely dinner next door at Springs Orleans. After dinner, we ran down the block for some new Pokemon (in Pokemon Go), and got an ice cream at Josh & John's on the way back, because that's what you do when it's cold outside in Colorado Springs! I appreciate that the Mining Exchange has supported IndyGive for years and thus many non-profits throughout the region!

Yelp
We recently stayed at the Mining Exchange while attending our son's senior presentation at Colorado College. We had 2 rooms at the hotel and upon check out, our son was not feeling well. We were anxious to check out and get to the airport, to get him home asap. In our rush, we neglected to thoroughly check the drawers in the room. We are seasoned travelers and typically double check. This time was the exception and we were punished for it. Once at the airport, we realized that some of our clothes had been left behind. We immediately called the Mining Exchange. We were told that no one was there that had access to the housekeeping closet and that someone would have to call us back the next day. No one called and it took close to 5 or 6 or more calls to finally have confirmation that our belongings were found. We furnished a FedX number to make the shipping easy. The shipment arrived but the 2 most valuable articles of clothing were not included. Again many calls and no success at figuring out what happened. Very disturbing. The number of calls. The lack of response and in the end, basically some of our belongings "disappeared"?? Staying in any hotel, hopefully there is the trust and confidence that you and your belongings are safe. And it should be a given that if you make a mistake and leave something behind, you should be able to retrieve it especially if you reach out immediately as we did. That's not the case at the Mining Exchange. Beware if you choose to stay there.

Yelp
Terrible service. I would never ever refer anyone to this place. I would love to say it was just me but common sense suggest otherwise.

Yelp
3 stars, not sure if I am being generous. Their are many pros and cons. Location is good. But the parking garage is across the street. Either pay $30 in valet or pay around 3$ everytime you enter. And 2 floors did not have working elevators. The rooms and decor is lovely and comfortable but nothing worked. The vanity light did not work, or even the bathroom scale (which was probably best) and not enough usb connections. The shower had to be my favorite feature. It has double heads and spacious. The view from our room was downtown and mountain back drop.

Yelp
Trash hotel covered by a nice facade. Come to Co. a lot. Would never stay there. Get some class.

Yelp
Place has become a dump. The bartender is amazing but stay somewhere else go the bar and grab a drink. Stay at Hilton hotels.

Yelp
Nice hotel. Small, but updated, modern rooms. walk everywhere! Loved the attached restaurant - ate several meals there. Parking is available in a garage 1 blk away or anywhere on the street (metered parking). I would prefer an attached parking garage... Staff is nice, rooms a re very quiet with high ceilings.

Yelp
Update: Ms. Shelby, the GM contacted me and arranged another stay on 2/9/18. The room was awesome and the customer service was good. We truly enjoyed the stay and appreciate Ms. Shelby reaching out to us. The location of the hotel is perfect. We stayed at the Mining Exchange room 518 on 1/20/18 for a weekend/Birthday stay-cation. We had the hotel/breakfast/valet package. The front desk gave incorrect information about breakfast. We were told our voucher included the breakfast buffet (from 6am-10am Sunday). When we showed up to breakfast we were told by the restaurant that Sunday brunch started at 10am and we would need to pay an additional $10 each. We decided to come back for brunch and while eating, discovered mold on my grapes! The room was nice but there was a juice lid on the floor, a pill (looked like vitamin E) on the sofa, and a hole in the bed sheet.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel, great location. Our room was a bit small, if we came again we would look at something larger. It was right above the street, but very quiet. Not enough outlets and charging spaces, but we were only there one night. Great shower and toiletries and excellent valet, for us. Saw one valet trying to drive what may have been a stick and I'm glad that wasn't our car. I thought the disco lobby music was an odd choice, lol. Would stay again.

Yelp
Staff was excellent. They are super friendly and very helpful. We were not overly happy with the first room assignment and they helped us upgrade to a much improved room that had more space and privacy. The valet was always quick and courteous. Location is excellent and very easy to walk to many great local reduced downtown. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. We were very happy with this choice for our long weekend getaway.

Yelp
This place is very nice, however, they fail to fail to accommodate late night guests. If you arrive later at night, there is no food available - not even a vending machine. They do have a late night room service menu that has no healthy food options available and shuts down too early. There are no refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms, so you can't even bring your own healthy foods to consume while visiting, forcing you to eat in one of they're restaurants - which are nice and have a few vegan options, but their hours are not compatible with mine personal desires. This was my second stay at this hotel, and learned a valuable lesson. My prior stay was on the third floor, and was a considerably more comfortable stay. This visit I was on the second floor, and found it much more challenging, and a bit annoying. The second floor has a catacombs feel with narrow hallways twisting and turning heading in multiple directions, and locating your room on your initial visit can be a challenge. The second floor shares office space as well as event space, and is not very quiet when parties are going on. There is no ice machine on the second floor, so you have to take the elevator to an upper floor to get ice. I absolutely love the roomy double headed showers. The staff is super nice, and eager to accommodate your every need. I would definitely stay here again, however, I would request a room on any floor except the second floor.

Yelp
Decisions people make with the services we choose to support says what it needs to say about the individual. Although base on past experiences I would have given this place a 3 at best, with the new information revealed, and publicly known, gonna downgrade the 3 star to 1, or none if I could. Doesn't matter how clean your sheets are, your kind of filth is deeper still.

Yelp
no room service, bar and no restaurant 2 days a week. They won't clean your room for the duration of your stay. No spa /massages. Parking is expensive, cheaper parking is down the road. At these prices I expect more. Other hotels have returned to full service. Shop around b4 you stay here.
