The Mirror (Barcelona, Catalonia) 8 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"No one could accuse The Mirror Barcelona of false advertising. With an interior aesthetic devoted to all things glass and reflective, and a radiant whiteness to the furniture and décor that borders on obsessive, this ultra-modern boutique gives off a positively Kubrickian vibe. While this brand of cutting-edge crispness often comes across as overly serious, The Mirror serves up its avant-garde leanings with a wink. Futurism dominates here, but it’s anything but grim, and leavened with a healthy dose of retro accents and mod furniture." - Tablet Hotels

Due to a hotel booking mix-up with suppliers, Jet2 fully relocated us to this hotel! So glad we stayed here, they welcomed us at 9pm with a smile despite our last minute arrival and possibly our tired, fed-up faces . It is a beautiful boutique style hotel and smells amazing as you walked in and was visually stunning with mirrors, glass elevators, and unusual full-size artwork figures adorning the walls. The staff are lovely, smiley and helpful. We had room 756, with a beautiful large balcony, the room had robes, slippers and toiletries in it. Breakfast served from 7-11am was amazing, omelettes cooked on request, a wide variety of fruit, continental style hams and cheeses. The views from floor 7 was stunning especially at sunrise and sunset. It had the usual street noise but you are in a city and to be expected, however, the balcony doors are pretty soundproof, so there's no issue. Overall, we would stay again. Thank you Hotel Arconte (was renamed from MirrorMirror)

Starting with positives: fantastic location, in a great area and very walkable, with good transport links. Great staff, friendly and welcoming - I agree with all other reviews that mention the same. Rooms: well... Interesting ;) I stayed there a week, it was good size, bit with a bit weird layout. Be ready to be very intimate with whoever you share the room with, as there's no bathroom per se, just direct doors to the toilet (facing the bed) and to the shower. The room was serviced daily, regardless if we put "do not disturb" on or not. Not a big issue for us, just a bit unnecessary. Mind you, we were never disturbed when in the room, which is great. The room was rather clean, but definitely in a need of some repair (drawers were flimsy at best, light switches very temperamental). Fellow tea lovers - be aware there's no kettle, just a capsule coffee machine. Very good coffee, but we mostly got decaf capsules. Again, not an issue for us. There's a tiny but nice roof tarace, small swimming pool and sauna - haven't used those, so can't say much more. The rooms have great blackout curtains, effective a/c and are well sound proofed (you can sometimes hear other doors opening and closing, but nothing else). The bed was very comfy, one of the best I've ever slept on.

We did a 2 night stop over after a cruise. We were just looking for somewhere to chill for a few days before going home. The staff were really amazing and nothing was too much for them. They were really friendly & welcoming. The hotel was good, clean & comfortable. There’s a small pool on the roof which was nice to chill at whilst waiting for our flight home. Beds were also comfortable. A good hotel within walking distance to everything.

This hotel is very friendly, very clean and so peaceful. It's in a fabulous location and offers a wonderful breakfast variety. We loved the roof top pool and sauna, sat up there with cocktails and lucky enough to have it to ourselves, very relaxing. The room was very clean and spacious and the bed so comfortable. Coffee machine in the room which was lovely, only fault we could possibly find was we don't feel you should be charged for water, complementary bottles ,even just on arrival would be nice especially when you check in late. Would highly recommend the mirror.

Excellent location at Diagonal, 6 mins walk to nearest metro. High street just a corner away. Surrounded by nice tapas restaurants. Convenient area but not noisy at all. Very friendly staff and good service. Rooms are big and clean with amenities such as dental kit, slippers and Rituals shower set provided. Will recommend!

Google
A really good location and a very stylish hotel. Room was very large and bed was very comfortable. There were some maintenance issues with some of the furniture (drawers broken etc) but these were minimal and did not impact on my stay but at these prices, maintenance should be excellent. The hotel is very bright, very modern and perfect for the Rambla/Diagonal and Gracia areas.

Google
The hotel has undergone some renovations and the rooms look slightly different. However, they look better in my opinion and still spacious and comfy. Staff have been very nice and helpful whenever we needed it, including tidying up the pool area and giving us fresh towels so it was perfect for our use. I would recommend this place

Google
Excellent location at Diagonal, just a 6-minute walk to the nearest metro station and surrounded by restaurants and convenience store. The room is well-equipped with thoughtful amenities like a dental kit and slippers. However, the shower had an issue with recurring fluctuations between hot and cold water. I had to time the cold water bursts and avoid them for about 2 seconds before continuing. Despite this, it was a pleasant stay overall!

Yelp
So staying here during the Coronavirus thing, this place has just felt like a great safe haven. White padded walls and mirrors everywhere can be a little jarring, yeah it feels like a spaceship, but you really do get what you need here. Great location in a slightly more chill part of the uptown, centrally placed for Ramblas, Montjuic, Sagrada, Gothic and Raval. My favorite thing by far here is how kind the staff is. We've had to talk to them almost daily for odds and ends (I.e. laundry, things we need to adjust our trip, etc), and everyone so far has been genuine and nice and helpful. So while it might seem like "meh, I'll just pick a place to stay", you'll really be doing yourself a favor by coming here.

Yelp
ALL WHITE ERRRTHANG. And mirrors literally everywhere. To a point where..it's a little scary. It doesn't really remind me of a hotel. It's so modern and high tech that it reminds of a hotel dorm room for robots. To sliding doors, to room numbers in a bubble under the floor, to ceramics floors, to padded walls if they aren't covered in mirrors, to electronic blinds, no switches for lights all buttons that control lights, everywhere. Other than the freakishly white overly modern decor. The service is quick and awesome. Just call 9 for reception. The room service : IS AWESOME. The food is probably the best room service food ever!! But I think it's cause the hotel has a mirror restaurant downstairs. We ordered the cheeseburger which was amazing, and steak EVEN BETTER! And the Thai chicken noodle soups so clean and light! I loved the food. Would order room service any day but sadly they end at 1030pm. I'm spoiled, used to 24 hr room service! Cons+Pros * Bathroom doesn't have a fan of any ventilation + had a bidet! * Shower door is see through + awesome shower head+ foot shower + temp adjuster for water * tv doesn't have any English channels everything is dubbed + tvs are built in the wall in front of the bed and in the wall in the bathroom! * ++ mini bar is SO CHEAP! 3-6 euros per little bottle * Pillows are super flat and sucks + bed is hard enough so your back doesn't hurt. * NO CONDITIONER ?!?! Girls worst nightmare. + but gives you body butter. Shoe buffers, razors, shower cap. 2 toothbrushes * +provides International adapters !!! For free * +free and fast wifi

Yelp
Yes, everything is white and there are mirrors and glass walls literally everywhere you turn, hence the name, but the room was comfortable and reasonably priced, and the location was convenient. With sliding doors, padded walls, and everything tucked into a long narrow room we felt like we were on the Starship Enterprise. We didn't have breakfast, but the spread looked good. Staff was friendly and welcoming and gave us a good tip--if you are going to visit La Sagrada Familia, which you absolutely must see, buy your tickets at the hotel so you don't have to wait in line when you get there. My only complaints are the shower set-up and the lack of coffee maker in the room. In our room the tub was way-too deep and set into the wall directly across from the small desk. A glass door supposedly keeps the water from going all over the (slippery) floor, but it didn't work that well and we had a few floods that we had to clean up before one of us slipped, which is easy to do climbing out of that deep tub onto the ceramic floor. The shower head was one of those long, narrow tubes and it was difficult to get it stay in one place without spraying water everywhere, so there was that. Then there are plenty of places to buy coffee in the morning, but it would have been nice to have that option in the room as well. Otherwise I can easily recommend The Mirror Hotel for your next trip to Barcelona.

Yelp
**This review is for the hotel and not for the restaurant** Initially I was a little hesitant about staying here seeing that a few reviewers reported things stolen from their rooms last year, but my boyfriend and I had a great experience at The Mirror. As you may have guessed - there are mirrors everywhere, and the hotel design is very modern. I absolutely loved the decor. This hotel is about 10 minutes walking distance away from several tourist attractions, but there are metro and bus stops a block or two away if you don't feel like walking. I felt safe in this area. There is a very small rooftop pool located on the 9th floor. Go early if you want a chair. There is a sauna on the 9th floor as well, but if you want to use it you'll have to contact concierge prior to going in. About the service: -I arrived in Barcelona super early, and the concierge let me check in at 9am, which was very appreciated. -All the concierge staff were exceptionally friendly to my boyfriend and I, helping us out whenever we needed something. We were attending the Gracia festival and the concierge went above and beyond our expectations - they gave us sheets of information and recommended what streets to go to first, where bands would be playing, etc. The concierge all spoke English extremely well which was impressive to me, too. -If you do not know how to speak Spanish, I would recommend learning a few key words if you need to speak to the cleaning service staff. I had to speak spanish to the woman that cleaned our room, which I didn't mind. She was an extremely nice lady. About the room: -The rooms are spacious although there are not many drawers for clothing (there are a few racks in the room, though.) -The bathroom has a toilet, TV, and a bidet inside. -The shower is spacious and has both types of showerheads (fixed and handheld). -The rooms come with a hairdryer which is a positive for me and probably most women out there. You are also given a razor, tooth brush, shaving cream, and other essential toiletries. -The wifi is excellent. We were there for a week and I think the wifi only cut out once for less than 5 minutes. -There isn't an iron in the room, but you can call concierge and request one. -THE BED IS THE MOST COMFORTABLE BED I HAVE EVER SLEPT ON I would recommend this hotel to a friend, my boyfriend and I really had a great time here. If I ever come back to Barcelona I will definitely stay here again.

Yelp
Unique and quirky interior, but let down by poor service. The mirrors and glass in the entrance are impressive but the rooms are odd shapes and lack natural light. There is a lack of privacy in the shower and toilet (glass doors), the wash basin in next to the bed and the floors are rather dirty and grubby. Also there's no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms and reception won't supply a kettle. The location is far from most places of interest. Disappointing.

Yelp
Good location, walking distance to great restaurants and shopping areas . Very friend and helpful staff and great breakfast which included hot and cold items . But the decor made me feel like I was institutionalized and uncomfortable , even though we had a large room , there was not enough space to accommodate two suitcases.

Yelp
This place is contemporary, clean and has excellent service. The location is prime. We stayed 8 days and were very happy with our stay! The room is spacious and comfortable. There is a swanky restaurant downstairs.

Yelp
The staff seem very nice, but this is an extremely strange hotel. My friends and I are allergic to down (which is pretty typical and hasn't been an issue in any other hotel I've ever stayed at) and the hotel seems to only have 5 non-down pillows and two non-down (regular - throw style) blankets. We included our allergies when we made the reservation and were told it wasn't an issue.... but it's been an issue for us. Basically if you have an allergy to down, don't stay here. Other things that are driving me crazy: -The bathroom is so close to the bedroom that you can hear everything (the door is a glass panel that doesn't fully close)! It really kills the romance. There's a TV in the bathroom that's totally useless - they should sell the TVs and get proper doors or at least that whizzy bathroom sound. -Someone is smoking in another hotel room and the smell is being filtered directly into our room (the place is non-smoking). -The pool is approximately the size of a hot tub, has bubbles like a hot tub, but is freezing cold. It's maybe 3 feet deep. -The bar is actually the front desk, so it's not a bar you can hang out at. It looks like it is in the photos of the hotel, but it's not. -We were lead to believe (and it's listed on the wifi card) that breakfast was complimentary, but it's actually $20+ per person (and it's a continental buffet, wtf?). -The structural elements are awkward: the balcony is 0 inches wide, there's a column taking up a good portion of the room, there are light switches on the bedside tables (so there's no where to put a drink) -The room service is very tricky (odd hours, etc). We gave up pretty much immediately after one try and went to a little bodega for supplies instead. The good stuff: -The showers are big and tall (but the glass is see through, so). -The AC works. -The white padded walls provide additional safety. -The elevators are see through and pretty fun to ride. -It's close enough to the beginning of the rambla that you can walk there (or get a 5 euro cab) but far enough away that the neighborhood is relatively quiet/safe.

Yelp
Awesome place, very modern but comfortable. We stayed here one night on our honeymoon and it was not enough! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The most amazing thing though was the restaurant in the hotel. OMG! The food was super super super and the staff was even better. Special shout out to Zaira who took amazing care of us the whole time!

Yelp
LOVED our stay at The Mirror. We had 4 ladies and 2 rooms for our Spanish getaway trip to Barcelona. Everyone was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. We were able to check in early because our flights were earlier so we could nap and freshen up before we went out exploring. Breakfast was fantastic. We also had wine in our room on the patio one evening and was given the best recommendation and the fancy wine glasses. After all of this we were extremely please but the kicker was when we forgot our passports in the room safe. The staff was extremely responsive. They over nighted our passports to our next hotel in Madrid. The service was the best we could have expected and more. Please enjoy this quaint clean hotel. Thank you!!!!

Yelp
I loved the location of The Mirror Hotel we could walk everywhere. My favorite part of the hotel was the staff everyone was very helpful with maps, directions and information about Barcelona. The hotel seemed more like a 3 star to me but I am rating them 4 stars because of the staff. It's white and modern. The elevator is all glass and mirrors which makes it a little uneasy to look down. They have white angel statues which was a little weird. Our room was nice and the bed was comfortable. The water closet has a glass door which makes it feel less private. I did like the separate shower with the rain shower head. It's a nice place to stay probably wouldn't have picked it if I choose my hotel however I got a hotwire rate and we were pretty happy with the rate and location.

Yelp
Very, very nice hotel. Clean and modern with a super comfy bed. Super, super friendly staff who went out of their way to help us with everything from getting our Barcelona FC tickets to getting tickets for a tour bus. Nothing not to like about this place and there is a subway stop very close by so you can get around relatively quickly.

Yelp
Nice little hotel - rooms are appropriately sized. The hotel staff were super helpful and had great recommendations on where to go and where to eat. The small pool on the roof top is a nice treat to cool off if you're in Barcelona in the summer. The hotel is close to Calle Diagonal (a major shopping avenue). Also close to many restaurants. It's nice not to be too close to Le Rambla where it can get pretty noisy in the evenings.

Yelp
We stayed here for a couple nights on our honeymoon this last May. The hotel was very nice and the room was really neat! Everything in the room was white and just like the name there was a lot of mirrors. It was a very futuristic looking hotel. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. The staff was very nice and helpful when we were asking directions and finding out places to visit. I will definitly stay here again when traveling back to Barcelona.

Allison E.

Yelp
Love Mirror Mirror! We stay here every year for two weeks for the past five years and have nothing negative to say. The neighborhood is nice and walkable. We always visit the restaurant next door for coffee and everything you need is close. The hotel is clean modern with great A/c in summer. However, the best part of our stay is always the staff. They are warm and professional.

Richard L.

Yelp
Great boutique hotel with a modern, hip vibe. sizeable rooms with large showers located in a beautiful upscale neighborhood close to dining and shopping. Oliver and the entire staff were extremely friendly and helpful . Roof top pool and sidewalk seating completed the enjoyable ambience. Walkable to Las Ramblas if you should want to venture there.
