Visited The Mitre on 8th October 2025 and had a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, constantly ensuring tables were cleared and cleaned quickly while keeping the place looking spotless. The atmosphere was lovely with a beautiful open fire burning throughout our visit. Ordering was easy either at the bar or through the app, and our drinks arrived quickly. The food was outstanding - we had a salad and the Honey & Mustard Sausage Swirl, which I absolutely loved. But the real star of the show was dessert. We both had the Apple and Fig Oat Crumble, and it was genuinely amazing - I've never tasted anything quite like it. The custard was like silk. Honestly, this pudding alone is worth making the trip for! Highly recommend The Mitre for great food, excellent service, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

I'm really glad we found The Mitre Inn. The food was really delicious. Between us we had the soup, plant burger, kids mac and cheese, and the overboard sharer. I LOVED the overboard sharer, each part was really nice, especially the crab on sourdough. Where did you get this bread?!?! Its incredible! I wouldn't stop going on about it on the way home. Fairly priced, I would 100% go again if I was in the area. Sadly we live too far away to come every week! The service was attentive but not overbearing, happy faces to be greeted by. Keep up the good work!

The cups for our tea were heated. That sums up this place - they are on the ball in areas that other places often neglect. Lovely batter on my fish & chips, and the lamb was delicious.

Stopped by The Mitre for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a classic pub with a relaxed, welcoming vibe and friendly staff. I ordered the beer-battered cod and chips, and it was excellent – crispy batter, flaky fish, and perfectly cooked chips. The tartar sauce was homemade and full of flavor, and the portion was generous without being over the top. The view was immense too A great spot for a casual meal and a pint. I’ll definitely come back.

Christmas Day Dinner at The Mitre was the complete festive dining experience. Johnathan and his team exceeded all our expectations again. It was festive , it was fun ,it was fantastic!! The staff were friendly helpful, happy and attentive. Karol and his team in the kitchen deserve a special mention. Every plate of food was flavourful, hot and delicious. The Mitre is a BIG hug on a cold winters day.Its like coming home to family and friends. Thank you Johnathan and your team , you made our Christmas Day special and unforgetable.

Our food was delicious particularly the sausage swirl. The waitress (Ella?) So kind and helpful. But disabled toilet not good , the toilet seat was wobbly and not fixed properly. It looked uncared for. Otherwise great.

This was such a surprise! The terrace is beautiful and the view lovely even on a cloudy day. The food was absolutely amazing, the ham, egg and chips scotch egg was something we’ve never seen before and the steak on our open sandwiches was perfectly cooked. The prices reflect the food quality so it’s not a cheap lunch, but we were more than happy to pay it for such delicious food. Lovely friendly staff too.

I have to share - as someone with Coeliac disease attending a celebration of my mum’s best friend’s life. There was a beautiful buffet and fantastic service. I mentioned I couldn’t eat anything and the staff went above and beyond to help and provided GF options. I especially want to mention one of the waiting staff (young lad - really kind) - he could not have been more helpful and made sure I was provided for. Brilliant service, thank you!
