The Modernist Thessaloniki

Amazing hotel right in the heart of Thessaloniki! The room was very comfortable and the included breakfast was delicious, but it's the staff that make the place extra special. They were so friendly and so helpful - giving me all sorts of tips for the city, especially some insanely good restaurants. The location was great - I was able to walk everywhere from the very central location. A+ all around!

We had an amazing stay at the hotel. The stuff is the nicest and most welcoming, they did everything they could to help us with everything we needed. The hotel is right in the center of the city, waking distance to everything. The room design is beautiful and have everything you need. I highly recommend the hotel!

A nice renovated building in the center. Front office personnel is a great asset for the hotel 🏨. Rooms are nicely decorated, and the breakfast above average. In general, it is a great choice

The hotel is very nice, a mix of modern and old fashioned vibes, the rooms are small but really cool and perfectly clean, great breakfasts, location is central but I would say the 2 best aspects for me were the staff members who are smiling, adorable and super helpful and the fact that the hotel is very friendly with stray dogs and one old boy sleeps there every night. Kindness is always a must wherever you go!

The hotel has an ideal location. The staff extremely friendly and helpful. We had a double room facing the main road with a small balcony. Very clean room. The breakfast very tasty and the breakfast room very cozy. I would recommend this hotel to my friends!!!!!

To begin with the pros: ideal central location near almost everything, extremely polite and helpful staff, good and tasty breakfast in cozy rooftop environment (with special ordering possible), good amenities, nicely fitted-out rooms, but.....||cons: rooms with number ending in 3 facing -literally- back "light" shaft, with no light and no ventilation. Especially in the lower floors (we unfortunatelly got room 103) we felt like in a grave, with a dark wall (clad in a dark fake grass carpet) one meter against your window and the sky blocked from the balcony above...... unacceptable as it comes at the same price as the street facing or the upper floor rooms. Not at all as advertised in the hotel's site.||Would we go again? Definitely yes, but securing first that we get a room with a descent opening from its window.

If you are looking for a clean, modern, welcoming hotel, this is it!||My husband and I arrived late September for a 4 night stay. We were welcomed by the reception staff as though we were old friends. They would greet us in this wonderful way every time they saw us!||Breakfast was lovely too! The ladies in the breakfast room could not do enough to make your start of the day a good one! The eggs are cooked freshly for you and how you prefer, then delivered to your table. I am gluten intolerant and had plenty of breakfast choice.||The location was perfect for seeing all the sites with lots of restaurants and shops close by too!||Thank you for making our stay so lovely. I would 100% recommend the staff and hotel.

I am actually staying at the Modernist as I write this review. The hotel is located in the centre of Athens and handy for all the museums, churches, nightlife and restaurants. It is however amazingly quite (we are in a room at the back).||The hotel staff all speak English very well and are very helpful and friendly. For example, last night we asked for a local Greek seafood restaurant, and the staff person whipped out a map and showed us several options. And booked one. The rooms are clean but ours was a bit small and a few inevitable nicks from wear and tear, but that's expected in this price range. The Wifi is fine, nice beds, good toiletries, and a strong shower. ||The standout element for us was the breakfast. It was vast and offered a number of Greek pastries, sandwiches, yogurts, fruits, nice things to sprinkle, cereals, and you can also have your own eggs made.
