The Modernist Thessaloniki

Excellent experience. The team is fantastic. Extremely polite, helpful and supportive everyday. The breakfast is homemade and very tasteful. In a very central area, convenient for town walks. Rooms are very modern, clean though a bit small. Highly recommended for a stay in Thessaloniki. The highlight is Pepper, a stray dog, 16 year old, cared , protected and fwd by Modernist s team!

Had the pleasure of staying at this hotel again for 14 nights in July. Just as good as the last time, if not better. Hotel is in a great position for everything, very central to everything. ||Spotlessly clean, very nice breakfast on the rooftop, very nice staff who are always on hand if you need them. ||Loved our 2nd time here, if you are visiting Thessaloniki and don't stay here you are missing out. Hope to return again soon.

Where to start… Let’s see…location? Right in the Center of the city. Facilities? 5 stars, easy. Breakfast? I wish I could give 10 stars. But the biggest star in this place is its people. Eager to help, polite with big smiles, attentive, they make you feel welcome. If you are looking for a place to stay when you visit Thessaloniki, please give the Modernist a try. You won’t regret it, I promise you. Oh, and guys, whoever wrote that welcome note I found in my room, thank you, you put a big smile on my face 😀

Very nice boutique hotel. It’s close to the main walking area and to the port front. They offer an option for a parking nearby. Aside from the rooms nice and the breakfast with all homemade pastries etc, the main highlight was the staff of the hotel. I’ve been to possibly 100+ hotels in my life and I’ve never met a nicer, friendlier, warm group of people. They helped us in any possible way and were just nice, without being “too much” or not just polite. If we’ll go back to Thessaloniki this will be the only place we’d ever stay in.

The hotel is set in a repurposed building which is very well situated for all amenities. All the staff were very welcoming and friendly. They helped us get the most out of our stay by recommending things to see and do and food to experience. The suggested restaurants with a good reputation and got us bookings in them.|The room was well-equipped and kept clean and the breakfast food was lovely and the staff there were very helpfu as welll. Due to the design of the hotel, the serving area was a little small, but the staff did what they could to make things flow as easily as possible. It was great to have breakfast on the roof terrace before we started our day's sightseeing. A great experience!

I recently spent nearly a week at this fabulous city hotel, and it exceeded all my expectations. The rooms were spotless, modern, and incredibly comfortable. Every member of the staff I encountered was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They took the time to chat with me and offered fantastic recommendations for local restaurants—all of which turned out to be amazing. The hotel’s central location made it easy to explore everything the city has to offer. My adult children joined me for a three-night stay, and we were all thoroughly impressed by the quality and service of the hotel. The city itself, rich in culture and history, left a lasting impression on us. We’re already looking forward to returning soon!

We had an amazing 5 night stay in this wonderful hotel. ||It was our first visit to meet our greek friends after 19 years. ||All of the staff especially Chris were so amazing!|From the moment we arrived to the day we left. |Chris and the team helped us to beyond our expectations for anything we required. ||It was like being with family they were even so excited to meet out greek friends and loved our story 🥰||The hotel itself is in a perfect central location and such a lovely place to stay, the breakfast again perfect with lots of hot and cold choices cakes etc. and with a very nice roof terrace. ||The rooms very comfy and modern with everything and extra. 🤩|Chris even noted i enjoyed herbal tea even sending me home with a gift of my own tea with seeds to grow more like i have said nothing was a trouble. |Loved loved loved! ❤️❤️❤️|We can’t wait to return!

What an absolute gem of a hotel. Excellent location, fantastic breakfast, wonderful selection of food and more. Staff absolutely could not do enough, recommended excellent restaurants and sights as we only had a brief stay. Could not fault it.
