"The Modernist Thessaloniki takes its inspiration not from the classical world but from its immediate setting, a Twenties landmark close to the central Aristotelous Square. Inside you’ll find elements of the evolution of modernist design, from its precursors in Art Deco on through to Bauhaus and all the way to the present day." - Tablet Hotels

We had an amazing 5 night stay in this wonderful hotel. ||It was our first visit to meet our greek friends after 19 years. ||All of the staff especially Chris were so amazing!|From the moment we arrived to the day we left. |Chris and the team helped us to beyond our expectations for anything we required. ||It was like being with family they were even so excited to meet out greek friends and loved our story 🥰||The hotel itself is in a perfect central location and such a lovely place to stay, the breakfast again perfect with lots of hot and cold choices cakes etc. and with a very nice roof terrace. ||The rooms very comfy and modern with everything and extra. 🤩|Chris even noted i enjoyed herbal tea even sending me home with a gift of my own tea with seeds to grow more like i have said nothing was a trouble. |Loved loved loved! ❤️❤️❤️|We can’t wait to return!

Wonderful! 🤗 Everyone was so kind and cheerful such a lovely welcoming ,they gave us fresh tea 🫖 my husband and I stayed just one night but it was great. Babis was tremendously helpful he took the time to explain what was around the hotel he gave us a map and circled all the must see places from food ,bars restaurants ,museums, rooftops so so kind of him. The room was very clean and constructed nicely ! No issues at all! breakfast was delicious they had so many cakes and pastries tea coffee and fresh juice as well. The location is also perfect ! There is a bus station pretty close by so it’s very easy to get around you don’t need a taxi to get around unless you really want to go out of the city. 🇬🇷🤗

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The rooms are excellent and very clean, and the breakfast was great. The location of the hotel in the middle of the city center is fantastic. What really stood out was the exceptionally attentive and incredibly friendly team. Without ever being intrusive, they made us feel truly welcome and well cared for. One of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had!

Location fine. We arrived late evening and would rate the staff as delightfully enthusiastic and friendly. Room was on 1st floor and first impressions was a very compact room with nowhere to store empty suitcases. Decor fine. Next morning it was apparent that the room was like a dark cave with hardly any natural light. The window faced an internal wall and rooms above had balconies which made the room very dark and gloomy. I asked at reception if we could change rooms but was told they were full, unless we wanted to change rooms for 3 nights and then change again! We booked through Jet2 for a medium double room and possibly Jet2 reserve the least attractive rooms for guests. We needed lights on each morning to get dressed, do hair, makeup etc. There was a kettle but the shelf was so cramped with bar snacks, chocolate bars etc that it was a nightmare to try and plug in. Breakfast was OK with omelettes available to order but again the breakfast room is small with guests trying to make drinks, use the fridge, use the toaster and reach breakfast foods all in the same small area. Overall we were disappointed with the room as one thing you want in a morning is daylight! It's possibly ok for 1 or 2 nights but not for 5 days or more. On the upside the bed was large and very comfy and staff friendly. I can't comment on other rooms but I wouldn't choose to return to this hotel if allocated a similar room.

Had the pleasure of staying at this hotel again for 14 nights in July. Just as good as the last time, if not better. Hotel is in a great position for everything, very central to everything. ||Spotlessly clean, very nice breakfast on the rooftop, very nice staff who are always on hand if you need them. ||Loved our 2nd time here, if you are visiting Thessaloniki and don't stay here you are missing out. Hope to return again soon.

Where to start… Let’s see…location? Right in the Center of the city. Facilities? 5 stars, easy. Breakfast? I wish I could give 10 stars. But the biggest star in this place is its people. Eager to help, polite with big smiles, attentive, they make you feel welcome. If you are looking for a place to stay when you visit Thessaloniki, please give the Modernist a try. You won’t regret it, I promise you. Oh, and guys, whoever wrote that welcome note I found in my room, thank you, you put a big smile on my face 😀

I have just come back from a 5 day stay in Thessaloniki. I had an amazing stay and loved vey minute, the history, food and the local people who are very friendly and helpful. I stayed in The Modernist. As a solo traveller I can’t recommend this enough. I initially book a small single room but upgraded the a medium. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to all the main areas, The rooms were excellent, very clean, beds comfortable, and the bathrooms great. I had a balcony which faced other buildings so didn’t have a view but this also meant that the room was quiet which suited me. The breakfast is wonderful, with so much choice. One day I had to leave early for an early trip and the staff arranged for me to take breakfast with me and some one had realised I was vegetarian without me requesting and it was only my second day. I would definitely recommend this hotel, it ticks all the boxes but the biggest positive is the staff who are all fantastic, friendly and helpful. They are an absolute asset to the hotel.

Very nice boutique hotel. It’s close to the main walking area and to the port front. They offer an option for a parking nearby. Aside from the rooms nice and the breakfast with all homemade pastries etc, the main highlight was the staff of the hotel. I’ve been to possibly 100+ hotels in my life and I’ve never met a nicer, friendlier, warm group of people. They helped us in any possible way and were just nice, without being “too much” or not just polite. If we’ll go back to Thessaloniki this will be the only place we’d ever stay in.
