The Moken Eco Village

We had a fantastic stay!! Everyone in the team is so caring and pays so much attention to every detail. The host helped a lot arranging transportation to and from the island. It’s the perfect place for everyone looking for a calm and relaxing holiday. The restaurant is amazing, the food very authentic with a great variety of dishes. During the day you can go on a guided Savanna tour, or go snorkeling or kayaking in the bay. We will definitely come back! Thank you Pam & the whole team :-)

Moken Eco Village is the perfect escape from the world. Immersed in the beauty of nature this beachside sanctuary is the perfect place to relax and unwind. |The staff at Moken are a real selling point, they're all so lovely and helpful. They helped us with our transfers to and from the resort and offered us information on tours and other things to do on the island. Although we opted to spend all our time on the beach or making use of the free kayaks that are available to explore nearby desert islands and the mangroves on Koh Phra Throng itself. They have a handy daily tide timetable to help you plan as well as flippers, snorkel masks, life jackets and paddle boards. |There is a great restuarant on site (reviewed separately) and there are a couple of other hotels / restaurants within easy walking distance along the beach but not many and we didn't explore further inland on the island. |We were in the Deer room which was beautifully appointed and cleaned perfectly every day. Some nice extra touches included a free beach bag, hammock and dressing gowns. The power is all solar and the lights were a little dim which meant the room was quite dark in the nights so just be weary of the steps and maybe have a torch on hand. Also the rooms have some mesh windows (as well as glass ones) so if you're a light sleeper take some earplugs but we personally loved falling asleep to the sound of the ocean gently lapping the shore each night.

Stayed here for two nights. Had a really great experience. You have to be prepared to be off the grid but dont worry the cabins are super nice, the staff is super kind and the food is really amazing. You basically have your own beach shared only by a few other guests.

Well what a fantastic service, we left a bag on the pier and drove for 2 hours in a rush. The Hotel were so helpful, found the bag, photographed it, sent it on to our next hotel with their driver Fin. Cannot thank you enough, you saved our day!! Tony&Debi

I really do not want to review this resort as I want to keep it a secret but it just does not seem right considering how amazing it is. Even before we arrived, the customer service was outstanding. Pam replied promptly to all our queries, organised transfers from Phuket airport to the resort and then even transfers to our next resort which was provided by a local fisherman. The resort itself is very much off the beaten track, it takes about 3.5 hours to get there from Phuket airport (car, boat, jeep) but that is the charm of it, it is very quiet and secluded, located in a spectacular setting. On the whole side of the island there are merely a few resorts and in my opinion Moken is the best one. It is truly Thailand as it once was. Granted there is no air conditioning, only one mains plug (they just got the mains electricity this year) but if there ever was a place made for R&R, then this is it. We stayed seven nights in a bungalow called Hornbill and it was magical. Open style Thai bungalow with great terrace, nice sea view, shaded and on the edge of the resort. The food was amazing, kitchen staff were amazing in accommodating our appetite for spicy food, the waiting staff were genuine, friendly, polite and provided great service. There are a few other resorts along the beach to go to and have lunch/drink, but it is all very relaxed and low key. If I were to be very picky, the only two things I would point out would be that the bed was very hard (but they normally are in Thailand) and the fact that the fans are very far from the bed, so at night it was quite hot as the breeze hardly reaches the bed. But those two things were such a minor issues that I only mention them as there is nothing else to point out. Prices in the restaurant are very affordable and considering how remote you are, quite low. On leaving the resort I left my water bottle behind and Pam organised for it to be delivered to the next resort where we were staying. If that does not show commitment to customer service than I really don't know what does. Thank you Pam and all your staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

The Moken Eco Village is quite simply one of the most wonderful places we have ever been. The welcome from staff was warm and genuine right from being met at Khuraburi. The accommodation was beautiful and well maintained. The activities were fun and varied. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious with a range of food that completely satisfied the whole family. I would recommend 100%.

We felt extremely comfortable from start to finish in the "Moken Eco Village"! Pam did a great job and the entire staff was wonderfully attentive and courteous. The food was always delicious and fresh. Our cabin was kept very clean and the nature around us is unique and beautiful. On Koh Phrathong you really have your peace and quiet and at the same time there are enough activities so that you never get bored. Our stay on the island was an unforgettable experience.

New Favorite place. Pam arranged our whole trip from Phuket. Private drivers, a night in Khura Buri, a snorkeling trip to the Surin Islands. Everybody we interacted with was so kind and all transport was on time. My family felt so well taken care of. ||If you are looking for a beautiful place to relax, sea kayak, bird watch and snorkel, this is the spot.
