"A boutique property with just under 100 rooms on the corner of Merrion Square, this stay makes sightseeing simple and pairs bold‑colored, industrial‑tinged bedrooms with two dining options: The Sin Bin bar for light bites and drinks, and Speranza for a locally sourced breakfast served amid contemporary furnishings. Sustainability is woven throughout—the O’Callaghan Collection has earned the Green Key Eco Award—via initiatives like 100% recyclable materials and fair‑trade, locally sourced food and coffee." - Liam Hess, Nicole Kliest

The Mont Dublin (Dublin, Ireland) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Mont Dublin is a simple enough proposition: a stylish, modern boutique hotel just off Merrion Square, across the road from the Oscar Wilde House and a few minutes’ walk from Temple Bar and all the rest of the Dublin city center. Modernist and industrial influences are visible in the rooms and suites, as well as in the common spaces — the Sin Bin bar serves light fare as well as drinks, while the restaurant, Speranza, is named for Lady Jane Wilde’s revolutionary pseudonym." - Tablet Hotels

We had an exceptional stay at The Mont Hotel in Dublin. From the moment we arrived, Aline and Caio at reception went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Their warm hospitality, attention to detail, and assistance with our travel plans and breakfast arrangements truly elevated our experience.||The hotel itself was beautiful, modern, and impeccably clean, creating a relaxing atmosphere throughout our stay. The bar had a fantastic buzz in the evenings, perfect for a comfortable nightcap after a day exploring the city.||The location couldn’t be better. Everything was within easy walking distance, making it an ideal base for discovering Dublin by foot.||Highly recommend The Mont for anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and outstanding service. Would absolutely stay again. J & J x

The Mont is a beautiful hotel in a great Dublin location with comfortable rooms, outstanding service, and a bar none breakfast experience. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, courteous, and proactively helpful. My room was spotless when I checked in and every day when I came back from being out and about and it had been serviced. The breakfast was delicious--not some paltry grab and go situation but a full buffet with tons of fresh options. The breakfast servers were among some of the friendliest and outstanding servers I've had, especially Stephane. I stayed for 12 days at The Mont and felt like a valued special guest every single one of them. Thank you!

Google
Excellent stay at the Mont Hotel Dublin, extremely clean, comfortable room, good value for money, location is 2nd to none, Vice pizza next door is worth a visit or grab a slice. I used the car park on Fenian street found it very easy.||If I was to knit pick I would say room could be slightly more sound proofed and a food offering in the bar would be nice but these were very minor and personal to me so I feel would be unfair to reduce stars for this. The breakfast is the best hotel breakfast I've had in a while. Last but not least big thank you to Caio on the front desk who made check in extremely easy, he was very friendly and helped me out with a few things. I would stay again in a heartbeat.

I recently stayed at The Mont, and it was truly a fantastic experience from start to finish. The rooms were modern, comfortable, and spotless, and the location couldn’t be better for exploring the city. The team at the hotel deserves special mention. Everyone I interacted with was warm, attentive, and genuinely focused on making the stay enjoyable.||||The bar in the lobby is a great spot to unwind at the end of the day, with a relaxed atmosphere and really friendly staff. Between the quality of the service, the comfort of the rooms, and the overall vibe of the hotel, The Mont stands out as one of the best stays I’ve had in Dublin.||||Highly recommend, and I’ll definitely be back.

Google
What an amazing place to stay. The location was very central for Dublin City center and you could walk everywhere. Train was close to easily get out of the city. The staff were fantastic as were the rooms. The breakfast buffet was awesome, great selection of fresh food and plenty of choices. Will definitely be in my list of places to stay if heading this way in the future. Good job.

Google
This is such a stellar hotel. It has a fabulous location but also the loveliest staff. Big thanks to Neville for communicating so well with us and being beyond friendly and hopeful. The room was a great size and the amenities were stellar. I would ask the UK and Ireland hotels to be more consistent with having tissue available in the rooms and wash cloths please! Overall this was a fabulous stay.

Google
We stayed at The Mont with a group of friends in September. Unfortunately, we only had time to stay in Dublin one night but were so happy we chose The Mont. The location is central, close to all the sites we planned to visit in the short time we were there. The bartender that made us amazing drinks was so friendly and welcoming. The room was spotless and the beds comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was outstanding. The best part of The Mont is the staff! We can’t thank them enough for finding ALL our money in the room safe after we had left Dublin and promptly emailing us that it was found. They kept it safe until we returned 10 days later at the end of our trip to pick it up. Thank you to all the amazing staff at The Mont! We hope to return to Dublin and will definitely choose The Mont again.

Google
We had an amazing experience at The Mont! Our room was perfect, the location is incredible for walking the city and the staff is phenomenal….especially Barbara. She made us feel special the moment we walked in after a very long flight. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a central hotel in Dublin. We will be back!

Yelp
After returning to Dublin for one last night before my flight out, I decided to stay at The Mont. It's a 4-star hotel so the prices reflect that (hence why I only stayed one night) but it was by far the nicest hotel I stayed at during my 10 days in Ireland. The location is very close to many museums, Trinity College, and lots of luxury shopping, and pubs. A lot of the restaurants on my list were a little further west so the walk from The Mont was a longer than I would have prefered (20-25 minute walk compared to the 5-10 minute walk at the other hotel I stayed at in Dublin before). However, whatever The Mont lacked in proximity it made up for in accommodations. The room was a little on the smaller side but totally comfortable for a few nights for one or two people. The room had an incredibly comfortable bed with four nice pillows, a thick comforter, and an extra throw blanket. Every other hotel I stayed at in Ireland only had two pillows and thin comforters with springy mattresses but this bed was sooo comfortable. I could have stayed in it all day. And if hotel TV is something you like to indulge in like me, there were a few good channels including some US shows. The closet area had a rack with hangers, slots for shoes, drawers, a spot to put your luggage, and a safe. There was even a mini fridge with free waters and milk for coffee. They also had a nespresso machine! Loved seeing this in my room after having only kettles and instant coffee at all the other hotels I stayed. The bathroom had great lighting and an incredible full size shower with a rainforest head, handheld shower head, and a full size shower curtain. It felt sooo luxurious compared to the other hotels with very European showers that only had half glass doors. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others depending on what spots are on their list while in Dublin.

Yelp
We have stayed here twice, once upon arriving in Dublin then again on leaving Ireland. Both times the staff was incredulous in directing us to places. Getting us Hop On/Hop Off tickets and taxis. We had the same room both times and found it comfortable and a great place to relax. The breakfasts are served in the Cafe and it's a buffet breakfast although you can order from the menu. We ate at the buffet the times we were there as the selection was good. Scrambled eggs, fried eggs(our first stay), sausages slab bacon, sometimes streaky bacon, hash browns, black/white pudding, selection of muffins, breads, croissants and pretty much any kind of juice and smoothies you could want. Also there was a charcuterie board with meats and cheeses and fresh fruits. Beverages ranged from tea and coffee to soft drinks. All in all a pleasant stay and if we come back to Dublin we would reconsider this hotel.

Yelp
Just WOW! Such an incredible stay here at The Mont Hotel in Dublin. I wasn't sure what to expect after looking at the Yelp reviews, but I can say this was one of the best hotel stays I've had in a LONG time. It's cozy but gives a luxurious feel. A well-deserved 5 stars. After staying at a lesser quality hotel for 4 nights, I was pleasantly surprised with the entire experience from start to finish at The Mont. The reception staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, and gave me some great restaurant recommendations. They also helped to deliver my bags straight to my room and bumped me up to the suite for free. This was much appreciated since I was here for 4 nights and using some of that time to work remotely. If you're staying here, you'll have access to the gym, and can dine at the Sin Bin or Speranza restaurant. I had lunch at the Sin Bin as well as a nightcap on another evening. Really enjoyed the vibe. The room itself was top tier. Working from here was a pleasure. They had a dedicated desk space, nice views, and a Nespresso machine to keep me fueled up. The bed in the suite was huge and super comfy. The bathrooms were spacious and the products like shampoo and body lotion smelled amazing. The one thing I noticed was that they didn't provide conditioner, but I had my own. Not a major inconvenience at all. The cleaning staff did a great job of refreshing towels and bath products daily. It was so nice to come back to the room without worrying about calling the front desk for basics. They really did not overlook a single detail. The Mont is conveniently located by a ton of great pubs, coffee shops, museums, etc. It was wonderful to be steps away from the action. I could not be happier with my stay. If I'm ever back in Dublin, I will 100% book The Mont. It was worth every penny.

Yelp
I came here to leave a review after a lovely stay and was shocked to see so many negative ones. I stayed here with several colleagues last week and we all enjoyed our stays tremendously. The rooms were large and clean, the showers had piping hot water and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I ate at the restaurant downstairs twice. It's mostly bar food but the staff offered to whip up something lighter that's off the menu. It is located in an older building so some of the hallways are smaller than large hotels in Europe or the US, but we thought that was part of its charm. It's been nicely renovated and I look forward to visiting again.

Yelp
vitamin juice (tasty), yogurt and a dessert. On another day, my wife and I were at the breakfast buffet and decided to make a sandwich since we had to leave to another day trip tour. A staff member noticed and asked if we would like a box and bag. I know this is a little detail but I was very impressed with how attentive the staff was. We were also asked if we wanted a to-go beverage. The expresso we received had a heart drawn in the froth. Again, a small detail, but those little details matter a lot. The breakfast buffet had a very nice assortment of food options. Fresh scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, cheeses, breads and breakfast pastries, all laid out beautifully. Another little detail was the fresh juices. There was a yogurt tasting juice/smoothie and an orange/vegetable blended juice served in little bottles with straws (cute). Lastly, coffee did not come from a machine, it came from a barista as they have a full blown café in the breakfast area. On our first day we asked for coffee; we were brought a fancy coffee pot and cups. I felt like we were getting tea service. On other days, my wife and I would opt for espresso or lattes. They are all served in fancy cups with a little froth heart. Breakfast and service was at 10 out of 10 I would not hesitate to stay at The Mint if we return to Ireland.

Yelp
wanted to write a special note about a girl SABRINA (from Belgium) who works at the desk. We were trying to get a taxi to go to a show and it was impossible. none were available and I could not walk having just had knee surgery. Sabrina came outside with us , got on her phone and called and called taxi's, Ubers, friends until she succeeded in getting us a ride. She spent over 20 minutes outside with us . We are so grateful to her for salvaging our last evening in Dublin. There was a work ethic and initiative she showed in what she did. you can't teach that.

Yelp
We received an apology and a refund a few weeks after getting back from our trip. We appreciated the conversation and the understanding.

Michael M.

Yelp
Great hotel, nice staff, and an ideal location -- full access to the rowdy/fun parts of Dublin without being stuck when it's time to rest. I would stay here again.

Yelp
This hotel is just okay. The elevator is small. Everything is small. But I'm American, and I guess we are just used to big. Here are the things preventing it from being a five star: The housekeeper opened our window a crack to let some air in, which is okay, I suppose, if she intended to come back and close it soon, but when we came back in the early evening, it was quite cold in the room. The restaurant: We dined in two nights. The risotto I had the first night was AMAZING. The soup I had that evening was also quite good. The second night, the only vegetarian option on the prix fixe menu offered to our group was a potato dumpling. It was Good Friday... so having another meatless option would have been a good idea. The potato dumpling was straight up awful. It was like eating play doh. Just gross. The tub was very small and uncomfortable to bathe in. The hot water comes out of one tap and the cold water another (although they are within the same spigot, which is strange), but having them on separate sides and not blended before coming out of the faucet meant that you really couldn't tell what temperature the water was at all. My roommate took a shower and found that she could never really get the temperature right. I opted for a bath in hopes it would be better, but alas, couldn't really get a hot bath somehow unless I wanted to scorch myself. On the plus side, the bed was very comfortable, and the location was great. The front desk staff were gracious and pleasant.

Yelp
My cousin and I stayed for 1 night at The Mont and it was the worst hotel we have ever stayed at. A hotel is supposed to offer two things at a bare minimum - a place to sleep and safety. We got neither. We were woken up at 2am with a man slamming his body against our door trying to break in (I guess he was drunk and forgot his room number). There is a small peep hole in the door to look out. He told him to go away and he ran off. We tried calling the front desk and no one answered. 5 minutes later the man returned WITH someone from the hotel. The hotel person was about to let him into our room (the bright orange key cards are hard to miss). We screamed at them both to go away and they ran off again. We barricaded ourselves in our room with our luggage against the door and didn't get any sleep at all. We spoke to the manager in the morning and told him that they needed a serious guest safety training and that they should never bring a stranger to a guest's room who is not registered to the room. They offered us a 25% discount on our next stay... NO WAY WILL WE EVER BE STAYING HERE AGAIN. They also have not returned our emails asking for resolution. Totally unacceptable on all levels.

Yelp
I stayed here with my girlfriend for 3 days last month while we were visiting Dublin. We arrived at the hotel around 10 AM and tried to get them to hold our luggage for us until later whenever we could check-in. They were actually able to accommodate us then and got us a room which I was very happy. Our room here was decent sized, clean and had a nice bathroom to boot. The lobby and dining room were also nice with the only thing really needing an update being the hallways. Where I thought the hotel really shined was with their full Irish breakfast that was served buffet style. There was a great food selection including pastries, cereals, sausage, bacon, egg, sautéed mushrooms and tomatoes, all of which was good. My only complaint with the hotel is that I only got a half an hour of wifi time for free whenever I could have used more. The bottom line for me is that I would stay here again in the future if I visit Dublin. Everything about the place was nice and clean and its location near Trinity College is nice as well.

Mark Z.

Yelp
Ok, I get some of the hotels are older and will not be the most updated spots. I just feel the hotel could of been better. Positives are the staff is very friendly here and is willing to answer any questions. The hotel is also located in a great spot in Dublin. You are blocks away from great restaurants, shops, and pubs. You can also catch the hop on hop off bus right across the street. The issues are that the rooms are a bit tiny. I would have not much issues with that if the rooms were fixed up and made to look clean. There were cracks in the walls and ceilings, which made me feel a bit nervous. The bath tub had hard water stains in the tiles which made the tub look filthy. It was also tricky to get the tub at the right temperature. I either get it scalding hot or frigid. It took some time to get it right. It's great it is in a central area, but rooms need to be cleaned and repaired better.

Yelp
SHOULD BE A ZERO!!! We booked a room for three nights on March 15-18 2020, that were non-refundable. However, two days before we were supposed to leave on our vacation, the US president banned travel from Europe. I work at a hospital and have had potential exposure to Covid-19. We did not want to cancel our trip that we have been planning for 9 months, but with the ban and potential exposure we thought it was in the best interest of everyone that we don't go. We could not risk getting stuck quarantined in a foreign county and potentially exposing others. Although, this was a very upsetting reality, we really had no choice. Two days after we had to needed to cancel the trip for obvious reasons, the ban became even more strict and there would have been no way we would have made it home without be quarantined. This pandemic has caused so many unexpected issues that we all are forced to deal with. Professional sports, performing arts, national events, school closures and life as we know it, has been cancelled. Most of these events that have been cancelled, have assured refunds to their customers. However, the Le Monde Hotel refuses to give us a refund. We tried to explain the situation is out of our control, as the entire world is aware of. I understand in normal situation that there would be no refund, but considering the circumstances, are you kidding. I have another trip booked with Interval International and they are allowing cancellations with no penalties (which of course is not the regular policy), but we have a pandemic happening. However, they understand the problem this virus has caused the entire world and the don't want to screw their customers like The Mont Hotel does. The Mont Hotel does not care if you put their employees or their customers at risk, they just want to keep your money at all cost. When I rebook my trip, I would never stay at this insensitive and money hungry hotel. I would recommend you think of how this hotel does business before you book a room at this hotel. Most companies are trying make a bad situation a little more bearable, but The Mont Hotel is making a bad situation worse by keeping the money we spent for our room, when we don't have a choice in this matter. If we continued with our booking we may never get back home, at least for an extended amount of time. We all have jobs to get back to and can't get stuck in a foreign country. We had booked nine hotels on this trip that were non-refundable and we were able to cancel all of them with no penalties, because they understand the degree of this situation and our concerned about their customers and their community. Several countries are isolated and/or closing their borders. In the US, it is complete chaos, there is no food on the shelves, no toilet paper anywhere and the lines to get into Costco are wrapped completely around the entire building. I would think there would be an exception in this very unique and unfortunate crisis.

Yelp
The 'poor relation' (pricewise) of the trio of O'Callaghan hotels in Merrion Square, the hotel is compact and functional. The rooms are slightly tired, albeit clean and well equipped. Broadband is very good (unlike the Alexander) and the bar menu is very reasonable, both in terms of quality and value as is the ambience. The (single) lift is however, awful! Slow and small, it lets the rest of the hotel down. In conclusion: significantly cheaper than many of its competitors, the Mont Clare provides reasonable value for money in the heart of the city.

Yelp
Very nicely located, close to Trinity, Grafton St, etc Rooms are ok, internet is a bit expensive but good Breakfast: Very good and good value! Needs: a bellhop. it's very unwelcoming having to climb the entry steps with heavy luggage without help
google avatar

Diane R.

Yelp
We stayed here twice for our trip, when we first got to Dublin and then when we got back to Dublin. It's overall decent if you just need to stay a night but I wouldn't come back here. The lighting in the rooms is so dim you can hardly see anything, and the breakfast was so so. The faucets are not properly spaced in the sink so everything gets wet on the counter. The service was wonderful which is why I gave three stars.
google avatar

David K.

Yelp
Great stay, gary from maintenance helped me out with a broken bulb and and with a problem with the water. Very helpful.
google avatar

Beth W.

Yelp
The hotel staff is very nice, friendly and helpful. We where upgrade to the Oscar Wilde suite on check which was very nice. The downside of the hotel is that it is very old and was a bank. Being an American you understand this up no A/C in the summer made sleeping unbearable as my room was 27C which is 80F. I was given a fan and had to sleep with the windows open and it with loud. The restaurant for breakfast was the worst in Ireland service was horrible egg shells in my eggs. Don't go they find somewhere else for breakfast.
google avatar

Blas H.

Yelp
Great breakfast buffet! Quiet Hotel within walking distance to several 'cool' neighborhoods. Stayed for a total of 2 nights one when just getting into Dublin and one while on my way out of Ireland. They have a partner parking lot with a discounted rate that is a short walk away and seemed secure.

Yelp
In the center of the city near Trinity College, St. Stephen's Green, etc. this hotel has real quaintness and old-time charm, especially since its manager or proprietor, Sally, is so friendly and helpful. Clean and bright rooms with all the usual amenities including free wi-fi. The continental breakfast is great, featuring endless coffee/tea, eggs, sausage, white/black pudding, toast, cereal, danishes, mushrooms, beans....etcetc! There is an on-site bar with live music that is okay, they also have a 'sister' hotel across the road with a fitness center and internet station. My only complaint was that the windows were not adequately sound-proofed, and so I heard everything going on in the street.

Richard H.

Yelp
I want to review this hotel higher because of the value it offers however there were more than a few issues with my stay in Jan 2015. In general this is a nice enough hotel, reasonably well located. A circa €8 taxi to temple bar. The decor is dated and the place could do with a general update but it was clean and tidy. Breakfast is ok, nothing to shout about but equally not a cause for complaint. The staff were very helpful and polite. The above being said we had issues with our stay. The main problems we had were: 1. First room heating was broken so we had to be moved. 2. Lift was broken(which isn't ideal when on the 5th floor!) 3. The electrics in the room the caused the lights to flicker/glow at varying rates. This surge between power and dim weakness was also a feature of the shower. I also have a few niggles whilst not complaints they are things that bug me. No plug sockets next to the bed for ease of phone charging. The heating controls were useless and regulation of temperature was impossible. We had to settle for being cooked by the radiator. All in all I think a 3 star would perhaps be the best assessment of this hotel. We had some I would hope exceptional issues so I can't rate higher than a 2. Hotels best feature is its low price.

Yelp
Stayed at Mont Clare for 3 nights in Dec. 2013. Had a very enjoyable stay. Location is one of best in Dublin, right across the street from Merrion Square. Unfortunately, the Aircoach bus no longer has a stop near the hotel. The staff were very friendly and always helpful. Rooms were of a verg good size with good appointments. Only negative thing was that wi fi was only free for 30 minutes a day.

Yelp
Our group was treated to a lovely offering of friendship and accommodation during our visit this past March. We are a rowdy and silly group that appreciate the participation that Bernie and Gary gave to us with their humor and kindness. What a treat to find!

Cooper L.

Yelp
I stayed here with my family when they came to visit me in Dublin. We were arriving from Italy and the flight was delayed, expected to get to the city centre in Dublin by 2am. I called the hotel and they assured me that someone would be around to check us in at such an hour. since we booked online (hotels.com), we got free wifi, not sure if that's the case in other situations. The hotel was very clean, bathroom was big enough, and the beds were comfortable. It's in a great part of Dubln (right by Trinity, a seven minute walk to Grafton St/Suffolk St. area, and ten minutes from Temple Bar.

Laura B.

Yelp
Stayed for 6 nights. It was a really good hotel very convenient! 3 minute walk to Trinity College, Merrion square is across the street. Aircoach drops off from the airport 50 yards away! service was great, rooms are nice enough. All good things to say about it. Two of the other O'Callaghan's are across the street!
