"The name says it all. It’s impossible to visit this den of trinkets, gifts and general frippery without buying something you didn’t know you needed. Expect loud aloha shirts, locally made jewelry and Hilo-themed souvenirs that are a cut above. Favorite small souvenirs include novelty chopsticks and emoji coffee cups from Japan."

Stopped to look around while in Hilo. Cute little shop with lots to look at. They have a variety of things from clothes, toys, jewelry, dish towels, lotions, chap stick and wind chimes, plus much more unmentioned. Prices are reasonable and the shop was clean. Stop by and take a look, you'll be sure to find some souvenirs here. If you read my review, please hit the like button. Aloha!

Super cute place. They have everything from postcard and hello kitty to Japanese dishes and baggalini bags. Prices are surprisingly okay. The box I got was cheaper than on Amazon. The cute little bear key ring is made out of Japanese fabric and is very well sewn, so I just couldn’t leave with out it. :) They also have some stickers from local artists and nice selection of different postcards.

We visited this area on an excursion from the Crown Princess cruise ship. This store's sign caught my attention during our excursion but didn't have time to shop. When the tour was over, we immediately caught a taxi back there. I'm so happy we did. This store is amazing! The owner is super nice! She helped us find a birthday card & gift to send back to my Dad for his birthday as we would still be on the ship on the day of his birthday. She directed us to the Post office where we could mail it. Have since placed an online order because I can't stop thinking about the things I should have bought while I was there. So many great Hawaiian treasures! Mahalo!

OMG, this store has everything from jewelry to wind chimes and tee-shirts to locally made spices. Everything is well made, interesting, beautiful, and affordable. I spent at least an hour looking at everything and got everyone checked off my gift list. They focus a lot on locally made items (awesome) and have a "Made in Maui" section.

I did enjoy this shop. The store attendant (maybe owner?) Was very nice and engaged in our shopping experience. There were a few nostalgic and funny items unique to the store. I like that! There were some Hawai'i items as well as some Asian items. I found very cute owl chopsticks! Aside from a few unnecessary "adult" items, the store was pleasant. These items caused 1 less star.

We went shopping here since we arrived from Kona. Stopped by several of the stores to purchase our souvenirs. There were a lot of different shops and galleries along the way. This place is close to the farmers market and several other restaurants .

Yelp
It was a Saturday, late morning. I had just finished brunch at home and a desire came over me. To venture back into a charming store. The Most Irresistible Shop in Hilo. Before departing the store after spending almost an hour inside, I approached a woman who smiled at me. I thanked her for the experience and then, tears started to appear without notice. A feeling of gratitude for what this store has brought to this town, came over me in the heaviest of fashion. The appreciation for what I had also just experienced added in a leavened, emotional fashion. Carol was her name, the sweetest thing. Just so comfortable to start pouring my heart out to, as tears continued to run down my face. She was endearing in every way. I shared with her that if I wanted to display everything I've collected over the years, this is how I would do it. Just like they do. In a visually pleasing way. To create a comfortable, easy-going atmosphere. Yet, without having it feel like it was cluttering my space. With style and panache. Carol started to share the history of the store, what a delightful gift. And Carol is shy of one year, being a long-time employee since 1977. Amazing. We laughed, and conversed. I shared how I remember this store while growing up. It was at a different location. How walking through this Saturday morning brought back memories when I was a kid with my family. Warm memories I still cherish. A family member remembers the daughter of the original owner, Sally Mermel. At the elementary school she used to teach at, where the daughter used to attend, I shared. Carol knew her by name immediately. Now under different ownership, the tradition continues strong without revision by Tracie Yoshimoto and her team. Keeping true to its original roots. The Most Irresistible Shop in Hilo. irresistible (adj): so strong, attractive or tempting that it's impossible to resist or refuse. (Oxford Dictionary) As I entered, a multitude of colors and textures drew me in. The lighting, soft and comfortable. With Japanese lanterns adding that ethnic touch to warm wood tones found on the flooring. Spots illuminated parts of the store with needed extra lighting, while twinkling decor hanging from the ceiling and in the display window added that "holiday" touch. Purely magical. Walking into the right side of the store, I find myself in visual awe. There are so many items to look at, on tables and on shelves. Some hanging from the ceiling while others are strategically placed in an artistic manner. Merchandising done extremely well, considering the items all have different shapes and themes to them. But every item had a place. Such talent, brilliantly fashioned. Friends, you were commenting on the ceramic teapot in one of my previous posts at a Chinese restaurant. Look no further. Here, there are four unique ceramic tea sets, complete with kettle and tea cups. Stunning designs, hand painted. Cute greeting cards for any occasion. Not mass produced like ones sold at department stores. These have a personalized touch to them. Remember those musical jewelry boxes you open and they start playing those carousel-sounding tunes? Do you know you can buy them here without the jewelry box? Original Crankshaft Music Boxes. Crank them by hand and listen to one of six songs. Edible products exclusive to Hawai'i, some from this island while others for neighboring ones. Ka'u Coffee, locally island-grown + produced coffee from the Big Island of Hawai'i. Pepper Jelly and Lilikoi Jam produced in Kea'au. Hanapēpē Smokey Coffee Rub from Aloha Spice, Island of Kaua'i. Ohia Lehua Blossom Organic Honey from Big Island Bees. And, here's a Maui Chili Oil if you like spice in your life. There's products to help with relaxation and self care too. Hawaiian Rainforest Naturals bath crystals, botanical mist, exfoliating soap bars and organic body lotion just to name a few. Made in Hawai'i, in Kea'au on the same island as this store. Looking for children's books + games? There's a whole corner dedicated to these lovely, inspirational forms of art. Walking into the second-half of the store, clothing apparel fills most of the area here. Printed island-style tees, sweatshirts and button-down collared ones on racks. The cutest array of oven mitts, dish towels and aprons. The inscription on some of them made me laugh! Too "vibrant" with their word choices for me to share. Lol. I wish I could name and introduce everything that's in this store. A visit is needed by you. Truthfully, I had to visit this new location two times to fully indulge myself. It's here. Irresistibly, undeniably, irresistible. The Most Irresistible Shop in Hilo. One store that truly lives up to its name for 49 years and still going strong. Thanks to the support from the local community, visitors and online purchasing fans. After all, how can it not be popular? It's irresistible, right...

Yelp
Shopping in Hilo Town, Hawaii... I remember the name of this store... I was here decades ago when I was active with the Jaycees (Junior Chamber of Commerce). We would have meetings on the Big Island every so often. After our gatherings, we'd roam around the town! This store still has amusing gifts, practical items, and cute stuff! It has postcards, jewelry, t-shirts, plushies, baby items, children's toys, Aloha shirts, soaps, lotions, books, Hello Kitty merchandise, tote bags, greeting cards, and more! Service is very friendly! The nice lady at the cash register asked me about my Shohei Ohtani shirt... LOL! Note: this store didn't have air conditioning... shucks! However, there's free street parking all around the area!

Yelp
Long title, but accurate! I cannot resist visiting here when I'm in Hilo. I have a bunch of shopping and food establishments I love in Hilo, but this is my favorite. There's something for everyone, so it's a great place to get gifts. (Don't forget gifts for yourself.) I have multiple pairs of earrings from here. Baby gifts, tee-shirts, wind chimes, jewelry, home decor, toys, personal care products, and much more. They make use of every inch of space. So much fun to look around and too much temptation. They have a discount card so make sure to get one with your purchase and keep the card in your purse or wallet so you don't forget it next time. I constantly forgot mine so now I just keep it in my purse. Parking is in free spaces on the road in front. It's usually not too difficult to get a space unless you're there at a peak time, like a Saturday morning. There are a lot of other nice shops here, several restaurants (including a great Thai place about two blocks away), not to mention the Hilo Farmer's Market nearby. The store was tiny, but the last time I was in, they had just purchased the space next door. It used to be a wood-burning stove shop, if I recall correctly. The space would more than double with this acquisition. Due to COVID-19 I haven't had a chance to get back to see what it's like now but I can't wait.

Yelp
Cute gift shop for your holiday needs Ranging from T-shirts, bags, hats, lamps, scarves and other cutesy stuff. The lady at the front was super friendly and very helpful. She gave me some great pointers for different shops around town and made some fun small talk. The prices vary but a basic T-shirt will run you about $25.

Yelp
I love Most Irresistible. I wanted to get a birthday gift for a friend recently and I contacted the store and the owner helped me put together several package of lovely items that she thought my friend would love. She sent me pictures of the items with corresponding prices and made it really easy for me to shop without having to go to the store. She wrapped it up beautifully and delivered it to me. What service! Totally Living Hilo Style!

Yelp
I have shopped at this store since it first opened around 40+ years ago. I have shopped there less and less because they have fewer interesting items than they used to. Today probably will be the last day I ever go into that store, When I first walked in with a friend, we were greeted and then asked what we were looking for. We stated we were just looking. We were then followed by a male employee asking what he could help us with. Then an older female stood and watched our every move. This was very uncomfortable and insulting as I got the feeling they thought we'd shoplift. My friend is 58 years old and I am 67 years old. We both have good incomes, both drive nice vehicles, and I own my own home. I resent being treated this way and am no longer interested in going into this store.

Yelp
Didn't open as posted on their front door/entrance. Was there on Sunday 3/31/19 at 1030am. Saw the lights turn on and waited 15mintues, still the door was locked. Tried calling the store, no one answered. Wanted to buy a women's hat that was displayed in the window. So I waited a few more minutes, called a second time, no answer. So I decided to check out gift shops and found a beautiful hat at another store. Very disappointed with THE MOST IRRESISTIBLE SHOP.

Yelp
The name sounds cheesy but the stock was awesome -- beautiful ceramic dishware, unusual jewelry (not the same seashell and kukui nut stuff you see everywhere else), as well as Hawaiian gift items, teas, bath products and the like. This and Basically Books were the two best shops for gifts along the Bayfront. The store had a calm atmosphere and a nice lady at the desk. Don't resist the urge to stop in!

Yelp
Nice store with some interesting items. Good souvenir stuff. The cashier was friendly and polite. The store was clean and reasonably priced. Eclectic mix of items for sale. Not quite the "most irresistible" shop, but worth a visit.

Yelp
I highly recommend visiting this quaint store located in downtown Hilo.. SO many fun items. Fun local products hand-made in Hawaii, they have everything from jewelry to honey, and the staff is super helpful.

Yelp
It is an irresistible shop jam-packed with goodies! I remember getting a durable, colorful clutch made from recycled plastic, which I carry around me with me in my tote bag. My dentist marveled when she saw me with it. At the most recent visit I saw so many cute, interesting, random things. Fun!

Yelp
Conveniently located near available street parking, MISH epitomizes the Hilo shopping experience. New owner Tracie has chosen affordable, unique inventory to charm both mainland visitors and locals. Staff are welcoming and have intimate feel for the merchandise since they have worked or shopped there themselves for many years.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite stores in Hilo. The sales people are very kind and easy to work with. The clothing items they display are beautiful and reasonably priced. I have purchased fives dresses at this store in the past year . . . and enjoy wearing each one of them. They also have a wonderful selection of gift items for friends and family.
