The Mount Inn Stanton

We got there just about lunch time - unknowingly before the lunch rush. We have been in England the whole week and the weather has been great. Blue skies and sunny as you can see in my pictures. My wife and I split the Greek salad and the Chicken leek and potato pie. The food was amazing. The salad had mint and that was a nice little touch, along with the dressing and fresh tomatoes that made the whole combo delicious. The pie was also nice and hot and filled with great chunks of chicken and potatoes. The gravy was very savory and added to the whole pie experience. The hand cut chips (French fries) were very good too a shame they only had 50% reduced sugar ketchup. But the view was amazing and the food matched the view.

Second time visiting and I can’t get enough. Really cute, cozy, great service ( girls were so friendly and attentive) and absolutely amazing food. Lovely place with astounding views to Stanton, I need to go back and try more of what they have on the menu. Love the bbq pork and seabass, but the desserts, oh my god. The chocolate brownie!!! And the rhubarb crumble are to die for

Had an amazing time here with my girlfriend for food (very generous portions) and a pint of their cotswolds lager. The views are absolutely stunning if you can get seating outside.

Called in after a day on the Cotswolds way but also after 6 weeks travelling. The slog up the hill with my pack was well rewarded. I had a generous g and t and a salad. The salad was amazing, the g and t well deserved and the views were to die for. Possibly my favourite place in the Cotswolds.

The Mount is my favourite place to eat in the area, great menu and great food. Beautiful location with stunning views over Stanton to the west. Always a warm welcome in this lovely old Cotswold pub. Locally brewed Donnington beers complete the experience. Look forward to next time.

Well on arrival told no food all tables booked, ask could we eat in the snug as traveled few miles needed to eat. That was ok. We were then handed a tablet to choose food and ask to choose quickly as they were very busy with other orders. Only one woman in the bar and really busy, food orders, drinks, fetching and carrying meals, this one person doing everything, no wonder she came across rude and impatient. Our food came and as always in these beauty spots and tourist spots food expensive but quality does not match the price. The chips were dreadful we did complain and after a downward doubtful look of the staff they did reduce the bill by the cheapest meal, but not with a smile. What a shame, not a place to go back to for us 😞

No comparison – this place truly has it all! From the outstanding service to the delicious food and stunning views, it’s simply exceptional. We brought our cousin over from Australia, and he was blown away. We already knew how fantastic The Mount Inn was, but having not visited for a while, we were reminded just how special it is – and it didn’t disappoint in the slightest! Honestly, it’s the best I’ve been to in years, and I’d choose it over The Shard in London any day of the week!

Perhaps it helped that they knew I was staying at The Vine (photo in another post, person in yellow sitting on the wall) - called at very short notice and was welcomed at 19:30 for 20:00 when the dinning area was moderately busy. Extremely friendly girl serving who bantered with everyone at just about the right level - food was amazing and very good value for money. Bear in mind that I used to have company financed expense account lunches and dinners all over England and parts of Europe and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this excellent pub.
