We stay locally but we love Gather, so I bought a nights stay as a birthday present for my girlfriend. The hotel is really well done out, and the room was beautiful. The beds are comfy, and the room is well equipped with tea/coffee etc. I really recommend a nights stay!||We had dinner on the Friday night, and it was one of the first days of them serving their new menu. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, and couldn't fault it. It was great to have a couple of drinks at the bar prior to this. Breakfast was great too!||The only downside was the service. Everyone is really friendly and great, however it seems a little clustered. For example, when we sat down for dinner, the person taking our drinks was different to the person taking our order who was different to the person delivering the food who was different to the person taking the plates away and getting us the bill. With that, the dining experience is a little less personal, as you're not sure who is allocated to your table and who you can ask for more drinks. We have experienced this up at Gather too, but isn't a deal breaker..||I think for the price per night, it's a good experience, however maybe for a one-off as for the same price, you could have a nights stay in the lakes with a pool. However, it's probably the nicest hotel in the region, and deffo worth a visit if you're visiting. ||We'll be back for sure for drinks and dinner!!!

What a great place. It looks absolutely beautiful; the rooms, dining area, sitting rooms. All decorated with a lot of taste and great atmosphere. And also with a bit of humour; loved the fox and rabbit paintings. Had a couple of drinks on the terrace in front of the hotel. In the sun. It was great. The food was also very nice. A bit different from other restaurants which which is good! Happy to see 2 vegetarian options. For breakfast there was also a lot to choose from. We were a bit early so there we no pastries yet, but we didn't mind... We'll be back for sure.

Had 2 visits in 8 days ... both for food (both being our birthday treat) and we both agreed that the food, everything really, was gorgeous. I could list how and why everything was so perfect but, for people who haven't been before, you need to see for yourself. And Jess, our border of collie, loved the roast pork that my wife kindly donated to her ... she says she wants to go back when it's her birthday!

What a stunning hotel in Gatehouse of Fleet in the South of Scotland. We were there for a business meeting in a well equipped room - adequate for our needs. Lunch was delicious - compliments to the chef. All staff were friendly and attentive throughout.

I was welcomed into The Murray Arms with a warm smile, mellow furnishings and a bright fire in the Burns room. My own single room was spacious, recently renovated and tastefully decorated. It’s a gracious hotel, with helpful gracious staff. I enjoyed the little touches - the complimentary newspapers at the bar, my own pot of milk for my coffee in the Milk Room, the heated towel rail and high quality bathroom products. The newly opened restaurant offers a great menu, I enjoyed the Kofta with tzatziki and pomegranate, beautifully flavoured and oven baked. The hotel is well located at the centre of the town, offering good short walks nearby, and well located at the centre of the beautiful South west Scotland.

Visited November, booked for an evening meal. |Service friendly, food favourable, alas it was like sitting in a freezer.|All customers dinning in there coat's. |Weather forecast pre warned of the temperatures. ||Sadly we couldn't wait to get out to thaw out.||Owner has apologised and said extra heaters have been added for future guests.||Just wrap up extra warm to enjoy your evening for indoor dinning (just in case).
