If you’re looking for a restaurant with so many vegetarian and vegan options in Vancouver, The Naam is definitely a place to check out as they are the oldest vegetarian and vegan restaurant in Vancouver and they’re open every day of the week. The menu is very extensive and they’re not trying to replicate meat unlike some other restaurants. Wooden seats and benches are available throughout the restaurant. There is also a separate outdoor seating area. We came on a Wednesday after the lunch hour rush and we were able to pick a seat anywhere and the male server was very attentive. We ordered a mama naam tea, a green dragon bowl, and Thai noodles to share between two people. All dishes came out within 15-20 minutes and we didn’t even finish the Thai noodles and had to take the rest home. Food was great and it was even better knowing you were eating healthy for the day.

We sat down. There were 5 girls hovering around behind the bakery display case. Just standing there, doing nothing. Our waitress seated us. My boyfriend ordered soup and asked for some hot sauce. I ordered apple crisp a la mode. The waitress brought me a dirty spoon. Obviously dirty! She went back and brought back cleaner cutlery. She brought my boyfriend 2 bottles of hot sauce, both of which had less than 1/2 inch of hot sauce in the bottom of the bottles. Also, the bottles were grubby with dried hot sauce around their openings. He was furious! I looked around and saw empty tables with full bottles of hot sauce on them. I spoke to a chubby man who seemed to be in charge. He told me they had run out of hot sauce, even though there were empty tables with full bottles of hot sauce on them. Five girls standing around doing nothing and nobody assigned to go buy some hot sauce? Poor service. Dirty floors, dirty tables, dirty cutlery. I got the feeling from the chubby fellow to the servers standing around doing nothing that they were all lazy and lacking management and direction.

I had a pleasant experience at The Naam. The food was decent, but comforting and satisfying. The service stood out as friendly and attentive, adding a nice touch to the meal. What truly made the visit special was the ambience warm, inviting, and full of character. It’s the kind of place where you can relax and take your time. Overall, a solid spot worth checking out if you’re in the mood for a laid-back dining experience.

Google
I gave two stars, and they are solely for the food — because honestly, I received almost no service. Although the food tasted great, if you’re very hungry, this is definitely not the place to go! We waited at least 30 minutes for our food, and when we asked the servers, they had no idea how much longer it would take — and didn’t even check with the kitchen. Every time we needed assistance, it took forever to get anyone’s attention, even though there were at least three staff members at the front. At one point, we signaled to the hostess, who clearly saw us but ignored us and walked into the kitchen instead. This was by far the worst service experience I’ve ever had in Vancouver. Despite the good food, we will never be returning.

We got the vegan blueberry shake and vegan brownie supreme, it was delicious! The music is good in here, and the vibes are nice! We went near closing so it was nice and quiet. It’s cozy in here! Would come back!

I was curious because it’s one of the oldest vegan restaurants around, so I decided to check it out, but honestly the bad reviews had me worried and turns out they were right. The young staff? Absolutely useless. They just ignore you like you’re invisible. Honestly, it even felt a little racist, which made the whole experience ten times worse. The food? Decent for a vegan spot, not gonna lie. But the endless wait, not even getting water without begging for it, and the overall filth? Disgusting. The bathroom was straight up nasty, and don’t even get me started on the sauce containers. Absolutely filthy. Totally killed my appetite. From far away, yeah, the place looks kinda cute. But just like life, comedy from a distance and tragedy up close, this place is a disaster when you actually step inside. If you have a high tolerance for dirty places, maybe you’ll survive. Otherwise, do yourself a favor and stay far far away. Dear owner, seriously, clean up your restaurant. You’re putting people at risk !!!!!

The Naam is a Vancouver must-try!! With their hearty, flavorful, and innovative plant-based dishes, you really won’t be missing meat at all with this meal (this is coming from a big meat lover BTW). I’ve been here a handful of times and it leaves me satisfied every time. I’m a big fan of their generous portion sizes, and the wait staff is so personable and attentive. My favorite dish is the cashew-avocado enchiladas oh my gosh I dream about this meal. I also really enjoy the Naam Burger for an extra filling meal, or the Naam Dragon Bowl when I’m wanting a hearty & healthy fix. Their fries are also so delicious and one-of-a-kind, especially with the miso sauce. Overall, I highly recommend this place and believe it’s a quintessential Vancouver restaurant!

Google
Love the Bohemian atmosphere here. The vegetables were so fresh that it felt like the staff had just pulled them from a garden out back! A little on the pricey side but I'll justify it by the old "oh well it's Vancouver" adage. Lol

Yelp
Very delicious- service was excellent and attentive and the vibes are great, was sat almost immediately even at Saturday mid day. Menu was extensive and a nice escape from the singular veggie burger at other restaurants. Was a small wait for food and drink, however I enjoy this as a chance to catch up with company and it ensured quality in the drink/dishes. will come again, make sure to stop in for vegitarian dishes!

Yelp
Great service and value. Portions were very large. Ordered tacos, open croissant sandwich, and tempeh burger. The tempeh burger was the best thing of what we tried. 4/5 However, the other dishes weren't very good. It was difficult to tell what the actual croissant was like, but it was a bit tough to cut and chew. So were the tacos. Definitely depends on the dish, and good for if you're already in the area. Not something I'd recommend travelling for.

Yelp
This is a vegan restaurant and I had high hopes from it. I loved the ambience. Both indoor and outdoor sitting has a charm to it. The food was okay. I really felt the dragon bowl is a bit too dry and lacks flavors. Tacos were good. I liked the flavors. But the service of this place was horrible. They only had one person taking care of all the tables. They never offered cutlery, tissues or anything themselves and even after asking they took almost 30 min. We were literally done by food by then. So I would rate 5 for its ambience but 2 for service and food. Maybe one time try place!

Yelp
I live nearby and have been to this place countless times, and I unfortunately leave disappointed and feeling cheated every time. Service is very poor, furniture and space are super junky, food is flavorless (honestly jarred curry sauce from the supermarket is better). Their food seems like something you would make when you first ,oved out of your parents house at 18 years old - cubed tofu mixed in whatever other junk you could make. Dumb.

Yelp
The bowls are great. Naan bowl, easy rider tea and outdoor seating Prices are good, great atmosphere, and service was quick and friendly. Highly recommended for vegetarian meals in BC

Yelp
=== 1. VERDICT/VALUE If you're looking for something vegetarian or vegan in town, there's the one and only original - at least when it comes to reputation: good eats and good service at a price that's not too crazy! === 2. FOOD Naam Bowl ($16) Organic brown rice, topped with steamed veggies flavoured with the Naam-signature miso gravy and then with tofu, shredded carrots and beets. This might be my favourite dish between the two we tried today! Maui-Maui Burger ($18.5) A vegan soy protein patty topped with pineapple, water chestnuts and teriyaki sauce, accompanied by a salad and sesame fries. The burger was decent overall, but the patty was a bit of a letdown as it crumbled easily, which made eating the burger harder. But eh sesame fries - basically seasoned potato wedges were great as was the miso gravy :) === 3. SERVICE The service was great from check-in through bill payment with constant checks and patience with a couple of kiddos at our table. === 4. ENVIRONMENT It's about as earthy as the ingredients - Naam offers a cozy, aged environment that reflects the cuisine that its served - where it's back to basics. Large groups could be challenged here, but there are plenty of smaller tables inside and in an adjacent semi-outside environment. Folks with baby strollers and wheelchairs may be a little challenged in some spots. Parking is available on the street outside and around the block.

Yelp
I ordered delivery with Uber Eats for The Naam, I usually eat at the restaurant, third time delivery with Uber Eats. I ordered the fries with miso gravy. The fries were good. This is also the first time I tried the fries with miso gravy. The miso gravy is different but I dipped every frie in it. Like others said, it is an acquired taste but I would try it again. I also ordered The Buddha's Feast. The Buddha's Feast was as good as when I had it at the restaurant. The food was delivered in good time and was still warm. I have been going to the Naam since the early 1990's, The food is consistently delicious and the service alway polite, prompt and professional.

Yelp
Great food, friendly service and a relaxed place. Recommend it for an affordable, fresh food meal.

Yelp
My first repeat visit in about 15 years. Definitely my last. The food was mediocre at best. My Budda's Feast was a very bland and boring pile of overcooked (pre-cooked?) vegetables, and tons of plain boring tofu. Nothing freshly made in that stir fry... or flavour! I can whip up a much better stir fry at home in a few minutes. The other two entrees were slightly more interesting, but only slightly. The worst meal I have had in ages. The service was friendly but REALLY slow. We were one of only a few tables and it still took over 15 minutes just to get a drink. We sat with our empty plates waiting to get the bill for over half an hour. We finally went up to the counter to pay our bill. The couple beside us came in a little after us, and were still desperately trying to get someone to take their order 45 minutes later. The restaurant itself is tired, funky and run down. Our table was sticky when we arrived.... perhaps the wrong finish on it? Or maybe it was just dirty.... the ants were certainly interested. It is not "quaint", it is just old. There is no inspiration in the food or the venue... they seem to be simply riding on their history as being one of first vegetarian restaurants in Vancouver. I've never had a meal I enjoyed there. They need a new menu and a new chef (and a renovation!) There are so many other vegan and vegetarian options in this town that actually make good food! Give this one a miss.

Yelp
Cute spot with vegan options. Very slow to get ordered, missed an item, staff not too knowledgeable about menu items and we had to get up to find someone for the check. Tofu scramble was terrible. So dry and tasteless. Daiya cheese was the only saving grace. Blueberry soy shake was okay. My sister enjoyed her nonvegan option. Paying took forever. If you have the time it aint the worst. I wont be back.

Yelp
Charming ambiance. Exactly the chill vibe I love. Yummy food. What else do you need? So glad I found this place!

Yelp
I have been a regular customer for years. Recently havent been there for a few months till today. It was quiet there and not many customer. Took one hour untill we received our food. I complained twice and they said something about emptying the oven from breakfast and make it ready fir lunch! Sorry your problem. someone could have tols us there is one hour delay so we dont lose our next appointment and in this period of one hour waiting not once anybody came to us to ask if we need anything like water. Lots of unattentive and kind of ignorant servers. It was awful customer service.

Yelp
Good restaurant. Try the Naam bowl. Unless you have a peanut allergy. Healthy not too expensive. Fair price good tasty healthy food. Ate here for many years.

Yelp
Apparently it's the oldest natural food restaurant in Vancouver and unlike the rest of businesses in sleepy Vancouver it's open 24/7. The wait wasn't very long on a Tuesday evening and surprisingly also very busy. There was a lady singing in the background as entertainment. Ordered the Naam golden bowl which was a large serving of vegetables and brown rice. The miso gravy was on point. Just enough to flavour the bowl but not overpowering. Prices are not so bad either and service was excellent. It's so good to see a vegetarian menu that wasn't just made up of beans. Great place to chill and catch up with friends in a great neighbourhood.

Yelp
The Naam is an amazing spot for people looking for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options. Everything on the menu is an option for people who are vegetarian and many things are vegan. I am a huge fan of this restaurant due to the diversity that they offer. We went for my birthday breadsticks and we had a good meal. The omelet was great and a big portion size that would leave anyone feeling full. It has great fillings and toppings. And you can get it dairy free with vegan cheese. The miso Benny is less like a traditional penny and more like an open face burger on a pita. I say that because if you've ever had a traditional Benny it is more egg than meat ratio. And that wasn't the case in the miso Benny. The 5 star burger patty is the main character in this meal. It is a large patty that is not only big but thick. I wouldn't order this with a traditional Benny in mind more of a richer and meatier version, that is vegetarian. The miso gravy and home fries are a great side and always a great snack.

Yelp
Go for the food - not the service. I got the Naam burger with daiya cheese. It came without the bean sprouts which I wasn't informed of bc apparently they were out and they kinda skimped out on the lettuce and other veg on the burger. The burger itself was pretty good. It came with home cooked fried, miso gravy, and salad. I was super unimpressed by the service. My server seemed super unenthused, apathetic (I think he was hung over), and was not knowledgeable about the menu at all when I asked a couple questions. He also dropped a good portion of my fries when he was dropping off the dish and didn't offer to get any replacements. I had to physically get up to request salt and pepper and grab my own napkins twice. Maybe he was having a bad day - or in the wrong industry. The food was good but I don't recommend going if you're looking for a positive dining "experience."

Yelp
The Naam has my heart and you have to eat here, you won't be sorry! Absolutely wonderful ambiance. Friendly, chill staff and the food...well the food is just to die for. I am love with their miso gravy. Are you a vegetarian wanting to eat at restaurant catered to you? Then look no further! I am a bit of a complicated foodie as I can't do dairy, fish, shellfish, or gluten! But The Naam is able to help with me with ALL of my food sensitives and still provide me a delicious meal. I love coming here for breakfast and brunch. You can't go wrong with the Vegan Croissant Witch, the Miso Benny or the Loco Moco. The restaurant is in a really old historical looking building and has outdoor seating as well. I would have taken a picture of my food but...I already ate it.

Yelp
A classic vegetarian stop in Vancouver, and a local favourite as well. Love that they open until late and that they always serve a delicious variety of healthy food. They've been taking good COVID measures as well, keeping hand sanitizer by the door and keeping tables apart, so that's appreciated. We ordered their only gluten free quesadilla - a corn tortilla with cheese and beans inside. I've never had a bean quesadilla but we were so pleasantly surprised - this was one of the BEST quesadillas I've ever had. I don't think I would order any other quesadilla! We ordered the combo that came with fries and salad, it was really good value and filled both of us up. Can't wait to come back again.
google avatar

Cristalle L.

Yelp
Came here with my bf who has been raving about their food. For a serious meat eater this was high praise so we finally checked it out on a Saturday night, and it was super busy! We ordered take out - 2 Milano platters, one Vegan version since I am lactose intolerant. He really liked the miso gravy fries from preCovid times, but noted that it was not as good and more watery tonight. I thought it was still pretty tasty considering it was also vegan! Huge salad with the green dressing (not sure what it was) which was tasty as well. I'm not a huge fan of Daiya cheese as it has a bit of an aftertaste and I kind of had a similar feeling with these quesadillas. However they were perfectly crispy which was enjoyable! Their salsa was also very tasty. It's a lot of food and I split the meal in two. Would I come back again? If I was in the area, absolutely! I'd love to try their vegan Mac n cheese.

Yelp
One of my best friends always raved about this place and wanted me to check it out. We finally figured out a time to drop by. Boy oh boy I can see why this place was among their favourites. I'm a full-blown carnivore but I was greatly surprised by how much the Naam. Setting isn't all too special for starters. It's got an older look and feel. Stuff you would be used to seeing a dozen or so years ago. It's also not greatly ventilated which was a minor annoyance. There was some live music so that was definitely neat to experience and take in. We shared a plate of the Tuscan nachos for starters. My experience with nachos for the most part is having restaurants throw a bunch of chips, a few toppings, and then chunks of cheese before heating it up making for a less than ideal experience. The Naam definitely exceeded expectations here. Lots of chips to be expected but also plenty of tomatoes, onions, and jalapenos as well and a lot of cheese spread throughout. Was very happy since it meant we didn't have to eat a third to half a plate of just nachos. The salsa dip as well was very good. There was a good amount of spiciness that wasn't overwhelming. For my main, I ordered the Gold Dragon Bowl. I'm just going to get it out of the way but I completely ate this dish the wrong way. I was excited to have some of the miso gravy with my vegetables but hadn't realized it was all that gravy was at the very bottom. Ended up eating virtually all my vegetables as is. That said, the miso gravy was really delicious with the fries and tofu. It was my first time eating alfalfa sprouts so that was a nice addition to the dish. It was definitely very tasty and something I would like to go back and have again. The portions were huge for the most part and I really felt like I was getting my money's worth. All in all, I enjoyed the Naam a lot more than I would have expected. I'd definitely want to go back and try some of the other dishes and see what else is in store. I'm definitely not a fan of eating my vegetables but I think this restaurant has an idea of how to make a generous serving of vegetables taste delicious and something to look forward to. An easy recommendation to try out at least once. Would love to try their desserts as well one day.

Yelp
The pic doesn't do it justice, but the food was delicious and well packed. I used to eat at the restaurant every few months, but this was my first time ordering it for delivery since the pandemic began. I didn't get a picture of the Maui Maui burger my partner ordered, but he was pleased with it and I enjoyed the Mexi Dragon Bowl. There are many other items that I miss ordering from here, so I'll definitely order again. Was impressed by the care that went into the packaging, as well as the quality of the food.

Yelp
I was reluctant to go here because I'm not vegetarian and because I didn't think it would be good or filling. And I was wrong! I was so blown away by the quality and quantity of the food! This place looks small from the outside but it's actually huge with patio seats that are heated during colder weather. For someone that gets cold very easily, the patio was very well heated. The service was amazing - our waitress was very friendly and accommodating to our requests. I had ordered a blueberry milkshake which tasted so fresh and light - I didn't feel bloated drinking this at all. Definitely got chunks of blueberries with each sip. I also got the Loco Moco which was handsdown, the best vegetarian dish I've had!! The miso gravy was superb and flavourful; the seven-star Patty was crispy on the outside yet tender and the carmelized onions really elevated the taste to another level. The green onions garnish added a touch of freshness to a dish that was filling. The eggs were done to my liking perfectly - over medium. The pineapple salsa gave this dish the tanginess that it was missing. I liked that they had given me jalapeno pieces to make it spicy instead of using siracha or Frank's. I was full for a long time after and I was so satisfied! Definitely coming back to try other items as well as their dessert selections!

Yelp
The Naam is my favorite place in Vancouver (lived there for six years). Huge plates, healthy meals, vegetarian, many different options for anyone's taste. Hippy vibe at this place. The walls are covered in eclectic art work and they sometimes have live folk music. Simple tables and chairs make for a very casual feel. Gets crowded at rush hour for dinner, often with a line out the door. Open 24 hours for the Vancouver hipsters! My favorite dishes here are Mexican inspired ones (chili burrito, tacos, nacho salad--see pics). The rice/veggie bowls are also really large and delicious.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this spot based of the reviews but I was pretty disappointed in my experience. DRINKS I ordered the chai latte but it was not my favorite - i think this is a personal preference. Too much tea not enough chai? Not sure FOOD I asked what the favorite dish was and I was informed that the dragon bowls are the most popular so I decided to order Masala bowl and its as dry as it looked. It was lacking all of the flavor i expected. I thought it might of been me but there was a couple eating nearby and she ordered a bowl as well; she was complaining that it was dry as well. I wish i would have ordered something else because maybe this is unfair but I wouldnt recommend this place at all. Very disappointed vegetarian AMBIANCE Small yet spacious, creative, and very welcoming

Yelp
Busy on a Thursday night and had to wait for a table, but the line moved pretty quickly. The restaurant is pretty big with indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered the chili burrito which came with salad. I liked how half the plate was salad and the other was the burrito. It was a very balanced and filling meal. I opted to have the vegan daiya cheese instead of regular cheese. I enjoyed it. It had a different taste and slightly different texture but still looked like cheese. Also, there was no additional cost for it! The portion is definitely worth the price. I wasn't able to finish my burrito and packed it for home. I also tried their chai latte with almond milk. I liked the amount of spice, but I wish it was sweeter. Overall, service and food was good. Even though it was really busy, I still felt the servers were attentive. This is a great place to eat and I'd definitely come back. They have lots of options, so there'll be something new to try next time

Yelp
Best vegetarian food I've ever had! My friend and I were looking for a place to grab breakfast before work, and there weren't many places open around 7am. Luckily the Naam is open 24hrs, perfect for late night or early morning cravings of delicious vegetarian food. The restaurant was basically empty so we grabbed a nice seat by the window. I ordered the Loco moco, which was a veggie party on top on rice, with an egg and miso gravy on top. The veggie patty was surprisingly flavourful and paired great with the pineapple salsa. I also tried my friend's tofu hash, which came in a giant portion with lots of spices and seasonings. (and not once did we miss the meat!) I am definitely looking forward to coming back and trying some of their other creations! Tip: Come before 8am and street parking is free!

Yelp
If you're in the mood for old school vegetarian food, this is the place to go. I recommend the golden bowl which is their dragon download with potatoes instead of rice, it's kinda like a hippie poutine. The service tends to be on the slower side, so don't go when you're in a rush, but it's a good place for lunch when you have time. It's a hippie resto so it's got the regular bohemian feel to it. Apparently they may be closing down soon, which is a shame because it's an icon in the kits hood.

Yelp
One-line review: Good plant-based food in an... interesting... spiritual setting. True confession: I'm a pretty committed meat-eater, so you may want to take this review cum grano salis. You've been warned... Earlier this year, I was fasting from meat, and so my wife and I took the opportunity to try out The Naam -- known for plant-based cuisine and 24/7 service. It came highly recommended, and I can see why. We had: Seven-star burger (with air fries) Butter 'chicken' special The food was fresh, plentiful, and pretty tasty for exclusively plant-based cuisine. The burger was better than expected (for taste and texture), the fries were slightly worse. The butter chicken was decent, given that there was no chicken in it(!). The service was friendly and helpful, and there was live music on the evening we went -- bonus! We parked for free on the street nearby. Bottom line: I'd probably give this place a 4 for the food (rating it in its vegan context), but the vibe of the place was ... different. If that kind of thing isn't noticeable or troublesome to you, it might not be an issue. In our case, we won't likely be back. It wasn't our cup of tea but could be yours.

Yelp
Delicious food and a chill atmosphere. This was my third visit but I was sad to hear the owners are retiring and will be selling the place. 4 stars because the service can sometimes be a little slow but if you don't mind a wait then it's a great spot for a sit down meal.

Yelp
I arrived on a busy Sunday afternoon and was luckily seated as the place was super crowded. Although a bit warm, the place was nicely decorated and had a variety of Christmas ornaments scattered for the season. I was served promptly. I ordered the Naam Dragon Bowl ($13.50) which was a nicely presented bowl with shredded carrots, beets, sprouts, steamed veggies, and tofu in a nice miso peanut sauce. The rice at the bottom made the dish incredibly filling, and there was enough veggies to make every bite super tasty. The gluten free organic rice did taste a bit mushy , and I did have to work a bit to finish the whole dish. Overall it was a good price and pleasant experience coming out to this awkward area in kits. I'd be happy to recommend this spot to anyone looking for good veggie meals I'm the area, but I didn't find the meal I had incredibly tasty. However for good menu selection and pricing I give this a strong 4 :)

Yelp
I had ni idea that this place is in existence since 1968. so u can imagine its interiors. Pretty old n dingy with a charm of its own. I love antiques so for me it was home. Wooden tables rougher at the edges n tops, small seating arrangement in n around the patio, indoor diner n close to the big glass windows. (Note; patio is not on the main street but at one side.) Food wise i would say its vegetables garden. So much fresh vegetables are used in crafting every bowl, plate or sandwich. Seasame potatoes with miso mixed sauce is must try but the potatoes could be more fresh n soft. Yummy though. Mexican bowl had all the tanginess of mexican food n beans thrown in there with top loaded vegetables. Tofu in another brown rice bowl was not having any flavour but it tasted good. I understand that its open 24/7 but they also get to be on top if their game in terms of cleaning n service. Slow service n not so clean washrooms are two things that is bad for a restaurant. I would still go to try new thing from the menu. I haven't even tried the drinks menu especially alcoholic. Kombucha served is from grocery store n not home made. Watever this place has food n its available all the time.‍

Yelp
A wide variety of Vegan entrees. My Naam burger wasn't bad but a little dry. Flavor profile wasn't enthralling. Presentation was very good, service was excellent.

Yelp
I have gone here for countless meals and after todays lunch I just knew it was time that I give this place a 5 star review. It was sooo unbelievably good today for some reason and I'll probably never forget it! The naam fries with gravy is a MUST, the naam salad with there tahini dressing was honestly one of the best salads I've ever eaten (and I'm not really a salad person), and the special today (lasagna).... omg freaking amazing. Best vegetarian lasagna I've ever had from a restaurant. I have to admit this place can sometimes be a hit and miss but when it's a hit (like today), it's unforgettable! Highly highly highly recommend

Yelp
24hour veggie restaurant? I am in I would much rather eat at this spot after a night in downtown, instead of consuming pizza and fries. Lots of great options. And the portions are large. Service was great - even late night I got the pad Thai and it was very large, but great flavours. My friend got the enchilada which was a great delicious choose as well. I would have rated higher, however the dangling spider from above our food was kind of a turn off.

We came to try the vegan pancakes. What we found, was a completely adorable historic cafe with awesome atmosphere, wonderful service, and delicious food! And those vegan pancakes? Best I've ever had. Wish I could bring home the recipe

Yelp
For vegan restaurant in Vancouver I think the food is pretty bad! I have no clue how ppl giving good reviews here!! We order 4 plates and all of them were unsalted! The only plate I enjoyed was the fries. Pizza awful, bowl terrible, pasta disaster. One of the worst old times restaurants in town

Yelp
My friend brought me here, and my rating may be a bit biased as I don't normally eat vegetarian/vegan food. Atmosphere was wonderful- we even got to sit in the back booth, which was super comfy. Service was good- the lady was very friendly and talkative haha. The food for me was ok. I ordered the Masala Dragon Bowl: it was a large dish with a load of vegetables. I felt like the tofu was a bit dry and I had to really dig into the bowl (completely covered with vegetables) to get to the rice. The taste I found to be satisfactory- not horrible but not my favorite. I also ordered the Nachos (spicy one) in which half of it was covered with regular cheese (absolutely delicious with the sauce) and the other half was covered with vegan cheese (it was interesting as it was my first time trying this). Big thanks to the staff for making this special order to let my friend and I try the vegan cheese.

Yelp
I had my order delivered via DoorDash so I can't speak for service or atmosphere. I thought the food was underwhelming. I had the tempeh reuben with salad and fries and everything was quite bland. Salad was fresh, and the dressing looked lovely but was tasteless - I couldn't taste it on my salad so I dipped my fork in it and still could not taste anything at all. The fries were the same - they looked like they'd been spiced up but tasted pretty much like any other fries. The miso gravy was delicious though - dipping the fries in it made them worthwhile. Again, I liked the looks of the bun for the sandwich but it was hard and unpleasantly dense. The cabbage slaw was surprisingly tasteless. I would have been perfectly fine with the non-marinated, unseasoned tempeh if the cabbage had been packing some flavour, but as it was the whole thing was pretty boring to eat. The most flavourful part of the sandwich was easily the yellow mustard, which was probably just Heinz. I also ordered a chocolate raspberry cake and was really excited for this because all of the pictures looked great, but they seemingly forgot this. My receipt listed the cake, but no cake to be found in the bag. I was able to refund it easily through DoorDash, but still a big disappointment.

Yelp
I have NO idea what this place is like for any other meal than BREAKFAST!!! Yayyyy. BREAKFAST. When I am in Vancouver, I make a bee line for here. The ambiance is a little scruffy. But that is part of the charm. I love the bakery case, and the Breakfast menu has never let me or my dining companion down one little bit. Once or twice, the expedient nature from order to arrival on table has had fits and starts. Don't expect finesse here. It is a cafe experience, not particularly a wait on you hand and foot restaurant experience for the times I have visited. You will come away feeling full and healthy and that is what counts.

Yelp
Please hire more attentive servers. I came here on Saturday Jan 30th at 3pm (yesterday). It was 60~70% full. There were two servers, and they made me wait for the menu, wait to order, wait for the takeout box, wait for the bill. They chatted with each other instead of checking in on the guests. They never once checked in on me, and when they did scan the room, they completely missed me, looking at them with my hand up. When most of your stars are deducted because of bad customer experience, you really need to retrain or rehire your servers. Wanted to like this old restaurant, but was so disappointed. I ordered delivery the week before from NAAM, and it was 1 hour late. We didn't get to eat until 9:30pm! Also missing cheese on the fries which I paid extra for. I have ordered delivery from many restaurants lately, and NO ONE is 1 hour late! Early usually. You're losing a regular customer. Please check the servers for that shift and make improvements.

Yelp
I've come by on 3 separate occasions and ordered the Special Breakfast every time. I order it with the Vegan Pancakes, the sausage, and scrambled eggs. I've tried the scrambled tofu once and wasn't a super fan. The sausage though--THE SAUSAGE. SO good. Tastes just like actual sausage and the texture of it is great. And don't even get me started on that miso gravy. I dip everything in that gravy--the potatoes, the eggs, and even the pancakes. The portions are also humongous and this often acts as my breakfast, lunch, AND dinner. The only thing is that the space is a bit cramped and when I came at 7am, it was a bit chilly. Could use a bit more heating perhaps?

Yelp
Vegan or vegetarian diversified food, proposing mexican, thai, burgers etc very nice place with a nice comfy patio with shadow, welcoming servers and quiet place (maybe it's more crowded when not-covid times)

Yelp
I super love this place! Whether you're vegan vegetarian or not, you will definitely love this place for brunch. We ordered our usual which is the Naam breakfast platter that has the veggie sausage, tofu scramble and vegan pancakes. Oh and did I mention their to die for miso gravy? That goes so well with their homemade fries! Ah love love love! We will definitely come back! And do not forget to order their coffee which apparently is JJ Bean coffee! This is definitely one of the best places for a weekend brunch for me!

Yelp
Love the Naam!!!!! Open 24 hours ( my favorite time to go is 3 am..best mix of clientele ). Always healthy, homey, organic, consistent GOOD. Looks and feels like it hasn't left the 70's, which is very good yet funky. Their miso gravy is irresistible. Dragon bowl is vibrant and crazy delicious.

Yelp
I've always heard a lot of good things about the Naam and I finally the chance to try it a couple weeks ago! Loved the vibe of the restaurant, it's super homey and inviting and you can tell the people whole come there also enjoy the environment as much as the good. The pancakes were huge, if I didn't order a size of potatoes I definitely would have still been full from just the pancakes. The texture of the pancakes was very fluffy and incredibly thicc. The potatoes were amazing as they came with a lemon herb sauce that paired well with the starchy potatoes. The value of this entire meal was INCREDIBLE, I was absolutely stuffed for only $12 and I will definitely be back again!

Yelp
People always say the service here is not good. And usually, it's not. They are always super busy and go, go, go. And the same thing happened on Sunday. The place was packed and very busy. But our server was super sweet. We were sad after coming from a funeral and the server was so lovely to us. It made my day. Thank you so much for that! Food was good. I got the fries with daiya cheese and their epic miso gravy. Huge portions for an appetizer and I loved the flavors.

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing! The plates are huge and the food is so good! The staff is super friendly and the prices are very good for what you get. I loved that I really felt that all the food is great quality and all is done with a lot of care. I would definitely recommend it!

Yelp
My vegan brother was in town so we decided to treat him to a dinner at The Naam. You can tell this place gets busy fast, but we walked in at about 5:30 and had a table immediately. As a non vegetarian, I'm always on the look for dishes that would leave me satisfied. There were a number of contenders, but I went with the Popeyes pizza, chai milkshake, and apple crisp for dessert. The pizza was pretty tasty, and the apple crisp was top notch. I did find the chai milkshake to be a bit underwhelming. I thought the menu said it was made with ice cream, but it didn't seem like it.. it was tasty, but not really creamy like a milkshake. Service was on point, and we didn't feel like there was much delay in getting our meals prepared. The only downside for us is, because it's a small space, it does get fairly noisy and it's difficult to carry on a conversation. Overall, good choice for some interesting vegan/vegetarian fare!
