I was hosting family from out of town and decided to come here because previous experiences were quite good. This time however, it was terrible.
The food was fine, although the sausage served with the scallops was very dry. The reason for this review is because of the poor service we received.
Disclaimer: we did show up late for our reservation because of a miscommunication on my behalf, which we did apologize for. Everyone, including the server, said no problem and welcomed us to sit. Perhaps this set the tone for the poor service we received, but her actions were terribly unprofessional regardless. I also understand that servers were likely very burnt out because of Stampede, but that's not an excuse to take that out on your table.
It all started when we ordered a bottle of wine and asked for it to be decanted. Instead of doing so, she actually opposed the idea. We asked her to humor us and at this point, it seemed like she was doing us a favor by serving us. When the wine came out, it was a little warm so we asked for it to be chilled. At this point she was starting to act really annoyed. All we wanted was for it to be put in a fridge for five minutes. When she agreed, we saw her shake her head in exasperation as she walked away from our table. Throughout the rest of service, she was very cold and unwelcoming.
When it was bill time though, she was suddenly much warmer and nicer. We had a chuckle because we assumed she was trying to make up for her poor effort in hopes of getting a better tip.
All that said, we typically have a good time at The Nash, so if you are considering going, I'd say do it! After this experience though, we will likely be going elsewhere in the future.
