The Nashville Palace

Recommended by Dayton dancers, Nashville Palace turned out to be a surprisingly fun stop on our trip! We’re used to dance venues playing unfamiliar music when we travel, but on Thursday this DJ nailed it—his playlist included many of the same pop, hip hop, and country songs we dance to in Dayton and Columbus, Ohio. He rotated three line dances with three country swing songs, which kept things lively, though I wish he’d leaned more into line dancing like we do back home. While country swing dominated the partner dancing, we managed to sneak in some West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, and Cha Cha—though not consistently. It was surprising that country swing was the only partner style featured. Sure, it’s flashy and fun, but it lacks structure—no step count, no shared rhythm. West Coast and Cha Cha are just as sexy, but they’re actual dances. It left me wondering: why not teach other partner styles like West Coast Swing, Waltz, Country Two Step, or Night Club Two Step? Floor etiquette was another issue. Country swing dancers took up a lot of space and didn’t seem aware of others trying to Two Step around the edge. At one point, a “country swing hijack” happened—where dancers jumped in mid-song—and while it was entertaining to watch, it sidelined a lot of us who just wanted to dance. The line dance instructor did a great job teaching a beginner-friendly routine, but be warned: this isn’t the place for casual dancers who only know the Electric Slide or Cupid Shuffle. Most of the line dancers were experienced, and you won’t be able to pick up routines on the fly. On the plus side, seating was decent with bar stools lining the dance floor, and the music was loud enough to energize the room without being overwhelming.

Visiting from CA on a Monday night for bingo. We had a great night. The food was excellent, our waiter (Kohl?) was attentive and generous, bingo was fun and we won shirts and a little cash, overall everyone was friendly.

6:30am breakfast before leaving town Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Not busy at all—we drove by later and the line was wrapped around the building. Friendly staff, quick service and yummy food!! We had cinnamon roll, lemon blueberry special (no whip) and little appetite plate. All delicious!!

I know, I am old. I don’t mind some music, but that was way too loud for me. Had to scream into my friends ear to communicate. I am sure many many people like that, but just not for this guy. I got the Cajun Burger. It was a real good burger, but no Cajun anything on it. Still good meat and bacon so it was ok. Not sure I would go back if they have a band playing.

We had an corporate event at Nashville Palace yesterday and it was AWESOME! Nikki was such a pleasure to work with through all the event planning. She made the difference. She was prompt in answering questions, professional, patient and so nice! It was a great experience. The catering food OMG. The best we've had at an venue. Kudos to the chef that was outstanding. We received a lot of feedback on the food being so good! Thank you again to all that work at The Nashville Palace.

Our company, Epique Realty, booked the entire back room at The Nashville Palace for an after-party event in June. Nikki was our amazing event coordinator - she handled every detail like a PRO! From food ordering, to vendor table set up, raffle tickets for door prizes, DJ & Line Dance Instructor, and MORE! Our bartenders handled our 400+ guests that night and even created 2 signature cocktails for us. Stephanie, Calista, Eric, Allie, all great! It was a BLAST!! Everyone LOVED IT!

If the service rating could have 10 stars I’d choose 10! Every time there spent with friends is amazing, and always be sure to ask for Allie at the Bar! She’s the best! Fun, easy atmosphere with great music. Bring your dancing shoes!

If line dancing is your thing, this is the place to be. The line dancers must be professionals! I have never seen so many men dancing, honestly, I’m jealous of the ladies. How do you find these men in the wild? I loved going here. I tried to pick up the line dances, they move quick. Sweat the night away. Even though I have two left feet, had a blast and tried to stay out of the way. Will return someday. Stomping good time.

What a fun spot! I'm from out of town and had such a great time here. Tried the catfish sandwich and the smoked bologna ~ wow! I haven't had bologna since I was about six, and it was so good. Loved the live music and the line dancing in the back room. Very relaxed, rustic vibe with friendly energy all around. Definitely recommend! Went on a Wednesday night and it wasn't crowded.

Stopped in last month with family and was first told their $5 Tailgate beer was out. Spent well over $150 dining there. Had great service. They advertise Monday bingo from 9 pm to around midnight. Tonight was Garth Brooks bingo. We left downtown specifically to play tonight. After arriving a bit after 9, we were told there was no bingo and maybe they'd have it next week. The website definitely advertised it for tonight. Since we drove there, we decided to at least have an advertised $5 Tailgate beer vs a $10 draft beer. Low and behold...once again they were out of it! Fed up, we said we were going to pass and leave. Our "friendly" bartender sarcastically wished us a wonderful night. Yea, bless your heart.

Better service. Hot food. For the price I paid nothing about the place was worth it. Tip for locals: when you have a tourist in your city, make sure your customer service is more than sub par.

Probably the worst bartender duo I have faced in my years of going to bars. On a Wednesday night, with less than one quarter of the bar area filled, it was impossible to get these two to take your drink order. Not only did I stand for almost ten minutes waiting to have my order taken, my friend experienced the same thing. With at least three people waiting to order, one waitress went off to have a casual conversation. The other bartender went to the dining area and began to bus a table. When I was finally waited on, the bartender poured a good drink. She didn't smile. She didn't even pretend she wanted to engage me as a customer. Only one area of the large building was open when we visited. On the whole, the business felt unloved. Seemed like a good, deep-cleaning was in order. Since we had been to the Opry, we ordered a late snack. We had a pretzel and an order of smothered tots. They were average at best. The musical artist was solid. I'll admit being surprised when he said an hour before he was sitting at a table and was asked if he wanted to go home to get his guitar. Maybe, the place was empty on a Wednesday night because people didn't come back. I know it won't be on my list when I visit Nashville in the future.

I was there for a charity show and they automatically added large group gratuity to the bill and I was there with one other girl so to me that is just wrong and bad business tactic. I would have bought another drink but automatically adding a tip turned me off and maybe it's because I am a good tipper and just felt that is bad business. The area our show was you had to buy $3 water or could go to the area next to the concert area and get tap for free. Just seemed they were scamming people who were there to donate to a charity which if proceeds were going to that vs bar would have been different story but that wasn't the case. Bartender was also very unfriendly for a basic bar too, mainly opening bottles or cans.

Cool little place to stop , def a hole in the wall spot but it gives a Nashville county vibe. They have a full bar where you can order at the bar or a server can come to your table. They have the typical bar food. Honestly their chili, I know chili.. was really good even in the Nashville heat wave. They have live music as well, well who doesn't in Nashville. Enjoy this little spot!

Went to ladies night on Thursday where ladies get in for free. They have beer buckets for purchase. The lessons they have are super helpful and perfect for amateurs or pros! They play songs for swing dancing and line dancing. Nashville palace is great will definitely be back!

Such a fun place for line dancing. There are some very talented individuals, but they do offer lessons early in the evening if you are a bit of a novice. Great environment, cheap drinks and a lot of fun!

Simple spot near Opryland hotels . Live music . Had great energy on late Tuesday night . Only tried some pretzels. Really hard to mess up bar bites

Be aware of the fact they don't post menu prices and then charge inflated prices and a forced Wp% tip. A Jack Daniels and comes out to about $16.00 which you can get for over 1/2 less at Scoreboards in the same parking lot. It is sad this owner is OK with this.

Went on a Sunday night while here for a convention. Walked in to see a sign "please seat yourself". So I sat down and proceeded to wait over 10 minutes for service. There was just a bartender and one waitress working. I decided to move to the bar, still took over 5 more minutes to get acknowledged. I asked for a menu, then the waitress disappeared. 5 minutes later I was able to wave down the bartender to place my order. I got the turkey club and fries. The sandwich was excellent, fries were stale. This might be an ok place but they were understaffed. I don't blame the waitress or bartender for that (unless they are the owners!) They had a live band playing vintage country music. I didn't know a word or a single verse, but that wasn't why I came. For a place serving food on a Sunday, the music was a bit loud. Overall I wouldn't go back unless there was a band playing that I liked. Food was ok and service was terrible.

i was very disappointed with this place. they advertise line dancing until 2am, but when we went at 9:50pm they told us that it closed in 5 minutes. i was really looking forward to line dancing there, but was very disappointed with the false advertisement.

Nashville Palace, I want to love you. I came to see you from afar. And then came back from afar. I wanted nothing more than to line dance as I'm finding my boots. I spent so much money to come see you, with your calendar up to date, to come to find you were closed for a Corporate Event. I was so sad to be turned away with others allowed in with fresh price tags falling off boots when I travelled from so far thinking that dancing was happening. Please update your website. It can't be that hard. I would have saved so much money. I hope to see you again, but I only have so much money. Love you xoxoxo

We had a huge After-party for our company convention at The Nashville Palace this week - and it was EPIQUE (Epique Realty). Nikki was our event planner and she handled every little detail like a BOSS! We had 4 great bartenders - but a huge shout out to Stephanie for making us two signature cocktails for epique. Everyone had a blast ! Em Downs was our line dance instructor and really got the crowd moving. DJ, AV, kitchen staff all knocked it out of the park! Thank you all!

Came here for a bachelorette celebration. Group of 9 wanted to hear some good country music and line dance. Most were happy. I would not say it was a very country bar. Had a lot of different music, but it was good music. DJ was good. Very cool setup. $10 to get in to this section. There are also pool tables and dart boards set up that everyone enjoyed. There is food! We enjoyed the palace burger and wings!

We came to Nashville for a gymnastics meet and one of the moms in our group found this place and it was near the Gaylord Opryland Resorts where we were staying. This place was so much fun! It was family friendly with live music! Our girls had the time of their lives there dancing the night away! There were locals there teaching them some moves too! I believe there was a back area for 21+ years. I'm not sure on the details about it tho. This is a super fun and cool spot to check out! I'd definitely recommend coming here!

I have to say I really wanted to love this place. We went to hear country music and instead most of the night is pop music. I don't understand why most of the line dancing music is not country. Very disappointing.

While visiting from out of state, I stopped in for dancing as it is one of my favorite things to do and wanted to see what the Nashville area offered. Upon entering the establishment, without notice or consent, I started getting padded down and questioned about what's in my pockets. I was wearing a light jacket with standard pockets and form fitting leggings and top with no pockets. Security/door check person agreesively dove right into my jacket pockets and kept asking if I had anything in my bra. Not sure if it's a safety check to ensure patrons aren't bringing in weapons but a heads up or permission to go into my pockets should have been the standard or simply asking me to empty any contents would have been appreciated. Proceeded to a $10 cover charge and ID check, then an overpriced drink order at the bar with very overpriced basic canned and mixed drinks. Expect to leave your drinks unattended as you cannot bring them onto the dance floor. Was also not allowed to bring my phone back to my car without paying another $10 cover to make that trip out. Gave 2 stars only due to the awesome dance instructor, size of dance floor and the fun dancers to watch on stage.

I don't know this place today!!!!! Ok... yeah what!? I'm so confused like I have been in Nashville for about 22 years and since I was allowed to go to bars I've been coming here!!!! Like for the low key, authentic country penetrating south feel. Sling (I know my English is not very good looking and saying it wrong but, sorry :). He was kind of nice in his own way I guess... I was seating at the height too tables by the entrance and I thought those were part of the bar area in the past and he brought the food for the people I was with so when I asked if he was also the person taking care of drinks he said "I guess I can..." and took my order. My friend loved him because well he was a bit on happy adult drinks got to meet Kylie Morgan and her husband Jay Allen! They are as beautiful as they are on Instagram... very sweet and humble couple. The place a back to old "old times" around midnight according to Sling the bartender. He was ok. I got to dance with Mr. Michael (amazing!!!!!) ok moving on... It has been about 19 months since I've been here last and wow!!! I can't believe this place now. They have a big dance floor room open but that has a cover $7. I waited till they were closing to just check it out. I'm confused. I didn't even know that was a room!!! It cut off at the bathroom hall or so I thought. Then there is this huge dance floor!!??? If you like to dance please come check it out! They also have food.

My friends and I had a blast last Saturday night here! We came for line dancing and it did not disappoint! Firstly for those who didn't know, this place has a $10 cover for line dancing, and it's cash only so be sure to bring enough for that. Do not worry though, it's well worth it. They started dancing at 7 pm, with the following structure: teach, then do 3 line dances (including the taught one), break for 3 songs of partner dances, and back to teaching. Around 10 pm they stopped teaching dancing and let people just jump in when they could. We loved this set up, as there was plenty of time to take breaks, visit the bar, etc... I had a midnight rambler that night, which is a drink from the Ole Smokey menu. It was fantastic; much better than I expected from a bar of this style. The bathrooms were clean and the bartenders were super nice. I honestly wished I lived in Nashville so I could come to this place more often to dance!

Can I give this place 100 stars? If your looking for A great place to line dance minis the craziness of Broadway street this is your go to place. There's spacious room For parking, lots of people and dance classes certain days to help new comers learn some great moves. It's always been on my bucket list to line country dance and everyone here made me feel welcomed and were kind enough to encourage me to get up and dance. I spent my first and last days in Nashville here and can't wait to bring fam and friends here the next time I'm there! Also shout out to the sweet lady in the front that takes the entry fee she was a true gem!

Service and music were great. Food is good and received zero complaints from the picky eaters in my group, which is practically unheard of. Will need to return soon and figure out when the band starts.

Friendly workers and some of Nashville's upcoming artists. My favorite artist, Mindy Miller, delivered authentic country music and I have to say, She isn't limited to country music... throwing in some Fleetwood Mac, Bad Company and professionally written original songs. The dance floor was graced with young and old folk, lighting the room with a joyful presence. The bar tenders are second to none. Live music every night makes the Palace a great place to find a dance partner and new friends!

Took my mom and sister here, per recommendation! Anytime someone comes for a visit, I refuse to take them downtown! We had an amazing time. Went on a Saturday afternoon, and had lunch, bloody Mary bar and great service! Thanks Stephanie for all the suggestions! so much fun going to the little area near Opryland, and less traffic and people, same great country music and food! Will def take all my visitors to this area!

The atmosphere was great. The music was fantastic as always in Nashville. Bar service was amazing. The food was so so. But we went there for honkie tonk.

Such a fun night out and enjoyable environment! Shelby made the experience even better by recommending and serving up fab drinks! She was so friendly and helpful to us all night! Will def be back!

Had a fantastic time here! Came for two nights of "King Fest" 2024, Randall King's annual 2 night Honky Tonk lineup. If you don't know who Randall King is - you will :) In my opinion (and many others) he's the next George Straight. A true country honky-tonker from West Texas. We had a great time. Staff was fantastic. Food & drinks were really good quality. All around fun night out. If you want some true country music, good food, and country dancing at all levels, this is your place! Downtown/Broadway is lots of fun for parties and such, but it can get loud and sloppy, and there's not a lot of rooted country music or good dancers. If you're visiting Nashville, try one night at the Nashville Palace :) You will leave with full tummies, some two-step experience, and your head full of catchy tunes.

Searched for a browns bar for my friend and was close by enough to stop in for the Browns playoffs and wow, what a space. It felt like a piece of home (even if I'm not a browns fan) with everyone being excited for the game in such a large space. I never expected it to be so big. It was a good time. Bathroom was large and mostly clean, good for amount of people inside. Lots of parking. The negative was the bar felt disorganized. There were 3-4 people tending at any time but the service was slow and kept gathering a long line. I'm an occasional bartender so it seemed like there was an unreasonable wait for very basic drinks.

The bar might be awesome but as Lil Texas say "We will never know what might have been". In town wanted to try out line dancing. Sadly the power hungry 12 year old at the door would not wave the "required" ID. A policy that absolutely can be waved according to the management. It's not like my late 50s self could be mistaken for under 21. No line dancing. But hey! SCOREBOARD had amazing music, great drinks, and fabulous staff that was happy to take my money and my generous tip.

I stopped in at Nashville Palace while on my Bach trip to grab a few drinks. My bartenders name was Shelby and she was amazing! She brought the vibes up in our group and made us feel very welcomed. Definitely will be back!

Nashville Palace was a fun vibe! Maddy was an awesome bartender/ server. She was very attentive, outgoing, friendly and made the best Tennessee Sunset drinks among others. I highly recommend you ask for Maddy to be your bartender.

Maddy was the best bartender/server that Nashville palace has! Everyone else there should strive to be half as good as her on a bad day.

Stephanie was/is a stand up bartender! She has been my bartender in the front and back rooms. She was funny, energetic, good conversation, and quick with anything that was ordered. We'll be back to have her as a bartender and great service.

My first trip to Nashville did not disappoint!! The Palace was my favorite stop! Great music, great atmosphere, large dance floor, and our bartender Stephanie had the best personality! Thanks for making our Bachelorette party a blast!

This review has been in my drafts for a while but still felt it was worth posting. We stayed not too far from the Nashville Palace during our week stay in Nashville and it kinda became our 'neighborhood' hangout. We stopped there during various times of the day. They have live music starting every day at I think noon. We heard mostly older music, Hank Williams type of stuff. The food was pretty much typical bar food, nothing exciting but decent. Beers were always cold. We didn't visit later at night when the larger back room was open for bigger concert type of music. Our visits were always at the front bar area. The bar had a comfortable feel to it. Nice place to rest our feet for a while, either before or after the rest of our activities around Nashville. It's also open to the outside so you can sit on the patio while enjoying the music. 2021-6

Love this place! Vibes are always on point when we have gone. We usually try to be served by Shelby because she always is so attentive to our drinks and goes beyond for whatever else we may need or want. Definitely will be back!

Shelby was such a delight!!! She gave me and my husband such a fabulous experience while at the palace!!!! Definitely fined a night she works because it's worth hanging with her!!!!

I recently checked out Nashville Palace as I had tickets to the Ranch Hands Cowboylesque show. My friends and I were really excited for the show, but it was a mixed experience. Some positives: I will say, I had some ticket issues and the Ranch Hands customer service team was all over it. They were amazing! They communicated quickly and made sure I was taken care of. The day of, I was surprised how close our seats were considering the venue map made it look far so that was a pleasant surprise. The show itself was a good long show! Some negatives: The drinks were EXPENSIVE. We ordered a margarita hat "fishbowl" which the menu (that didn't have the price) said was supposed to serve 4. After seeing them pour the alcohol, it did not look like it was for 4 at all; it looked like much less. The bartender said it was actually equivalent to 8 drinks, which seemed even more off. There was significantly more ice than liquid as well. It was also clear it wasn't 8 drinks because 3 of us split it and we could very much tell it wasn't enough. They then said it was $60. However, it looked like they must have added more alcohol at the end (that I didn't ask for) and then charged me for it because with that and the automatic gratuity they put (which I wasn't a fan of either), it came out to $90. I felt completely robbed. The show was fun! the only downside, is it was hard not to notice the same audience members getting all of the attention. In addition, the audience members that got the attention were a very specific demographic. This was incredibly uncomfortable for us. Overall, it was a decent experience. I likely wouldn't be back. It is pretty far out from where I live, and the cost and quality of drinks are just not worth it.

Pro: nice venue for music and to grab a beer. Tons of history. Front of the venue was nice. Dance floor and great seating. Con: Bourbon/honey chicken breast was nothing more than frozen chicken breast strips with some bottled sauce lightly coated. Baked beans were straight from the can. Not even dressed up or seasoned.

This spot is one of my faves in Nashville for live music. If you don't want to deal with the chaos and crowds of Broadway but still want to hear good country tunes, come here! Free parking also..and they have a full bar and food!

Moved to Nashville 3 years ago and absolutely love this place. Great music, food and drinks, great staff and fair prices. Outdoor seating, fireplaces and more. It's a must do when you come to Nashville.

Great time in this two Tier bar with excellent music and atmosphere! This was was the place to be in the olden days with a huge dance hall attached and the bar area where they serve great food with great music when the hall is not in full swing, that is up until this day as the joint is under new management and they kicked out the band we enjoyed so much along with a large crowd dancing their boots away. Now I don't know what the new management is up to but suggest they will f-up the place to placate a younger generation like the joint two doors down packed with plenty of tainted souls playing crappy music so I will keep tabs on the place and get a future update. The service was great and waitress was tight lipped when I asked about management and any future changes but just happened to get wind of this places future. No photos as I was with a large group.

We came to the Palace on a whim to take a salsa dance class, thinking it would just be a fun way to pass time our last night here. We were blown away by the friendliness of the staff in general, but our instructor Madison made it so that we will never skip a trip to the palace anytime we are in town. She was friendly, energetic, and turned a couple of uncoordinated newbies into somewhat competent dancers in just a couple of hours. I can't say enough great things about her class. She also teaches line dancing, so if you are on the fence about taking a salsa or line dancing class, I encourage you to get down there ASAP!
