The Nautilus Hotel

Almost Always stay here. It’s a lovely place. This one time I got in and my bed wasn’t made. This doesn’t happen often but it sucked because that day I arrived super tired and all I wanted was to lay down for a bit. The staff was very friendly and made the room up very quickly.

I stayed at the Nautilus Hotel during a recent business trip and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a rustic, coastal-style property but easily the best option in Pemba. This is Mozambique after all. ||The hotel sits right on the beach, which makes it ideal if you want to unwind after a long day of work. The sound of the ocean, fresh air, and laid-back atmosphere create a sense of calm that’s rare on a business trip.||Rooms are simple but spotless, well maintained, and equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The staff were professional, friendly, and efficient. They were always ready to help with taxis, Wi-Fi, or local recommendations.||I saw a recent review saying there was no airport pickup, but we had a seamless collection with no problems at all. ||A special mention must go to the restaurant. The seafood is exceptional, fresh, perfectly prepared, and easily the highlight of my stay. I had several meals there, and each one was consistently good.||Overall, Nautilus Hotel delivers what matters most: cleanliness, good service, and a beachfront location. Ideal for both business and leisure travellers who want a reliable, relaxing stay by the sea.

When we arrived after lots of delays and stress from travelling the hotel transfer didn't meet us at the airport. This was especially disappointing as there are not many taxi's available and we had to walk to the hotel (3KM) with all our baggage! After lots of communication between myself and Mateo, I was very disappointed that nobody met myself and my family at the airport. The rooms are clean and tidy, The place needs some attention and especially the wooden walkway is dangerous with all the holes and broken slats. The service in the restaurant is slow slow slow. 1.5 hours we waited for lunch one day.

We were in Pemba for work meetings. Room was clean & comfortable, much nicer than the other (some much more expensive) hotels in the area we’ve stayed at. View was beautiful, staff were helpful & friendly, seafood was delicious. Not a holiday destination but if you are there on business, this is the place to stay. Looks like they have renovated the rooms. Starlink wifi was very reliable & managed zoom meetings without any issues.

It was a very good stay! The hotel organised collection from the airport. I had wifi, aircon and the room was comfortable. The staff were helpful and the food is great. No complaints. They have also redone the hotel and they said they have recently updated their hotel rooms.

The hotel is now renovated and the rooms, restaurant and bar are all much nicer. This is the best place to stay in the Pemba area for business. I really loved the view, the pool and the food at the restaurant. Included breakfast was delicious and the staff were helpful and kind.

Although it’s not a “luxury” hotel we had a great time! And it’s definitely more than what you pay for and has everything you need. Room had an amazing view, right on the beach, cocktails are great & enjoyed the Piri Piri chicken. WiFi worked well, aircon was good & pool was clean. Recommend as the best in Pemba.
