The Nautilus Napier

Didn’t feel like the price was listed as honest. If you’re looking at the description of the room it says that it sleeps 6: 1 king, 2 singles and a queen. You don’t realize that it defaults to 2 people and there is an extra charge based on the number of people you have.||So we booked at $379/night thinking we could all 6 stay here which was a fair deal. Only to find out that it is $49 per adult extra over the booked two. So even though the room sleeps 6, the price is per person, effectively. So buyer beware there. Cost an extra $200 per night which is NOT a good deal. More importantly it just felt like a bait and switch. Like you book a mini van for $100/day and then find out that they charge per passenger?? Never mind, gonna be $300/day because there’s 6 people riding in it… LOL. Nope.||As far as the accommodations they were fine. Not terrible, not great. Totally a fine place to lay your head.||The bathroom was odd in our room because there was almost no protection to the rest of the room from the shower. It was just open so water was going everywhere. Not safe on the tile.||Had a big jetted tub which was a big hit!||For the price, wouldn’t stay here again.

My biggest peeve is for the size of this room there was no suitcase 🧳 tables to have an opened suitcase. The rooms need a big update, the spa Barth worked good and there was 2 big smart tvs, the couch could have been bigger. The kitchenette was well stocked with teas and coffees, but the milk could have been left in the fridge, instead of going to reception each day. The service was brilliant, reception perfect. The location was great, just a bit expensive for the outdated rooms.

A fabulous place to stay. The staff, the rooms, the service, the spa, the views all wonderful. I keep coming back.||The past 8 weeks I have stayed here every week for work. I feel like it is such a luxury to be working away from home but being so blessed to have The Nautilus as my home away from home. ||Every time I arrive the staff are warm and welcoming. If I am arriving late they make sure my room is easily accessible. The rooms are lovely, comfortable and a fabulous price. Amazing really that you get such a wonderful place to stay for the price. Handy to the local amenities and a fabulous restaurant right next door. ||Right across the road from the beach where there are free BBQ's for the family to use. You can't get more convenient a place to stay no matter whether you are traveling solo, or as a couple, a group or as a family. ||I highly recommend The Nautilus for all the reasons I have mentioned and so many more.

Amazing kind check in. Allowed to stay an extra hour for check out. Amazing views. Breakfast was lovely. On site parking was a bonus and a great spa pool in our room- luxury. Cannot recommend this place enough🌺

Service/hospitality was awesome, so helpful, friendly and accomodating. Very clean and tidy rooms. We had a fantastic stay, thank you. We will be back at that rate that’s for sure.

Old rotting hotel to be honest, the bathroom was okay, wallpapers are peeling off the walls, the furniture is dated and disgusting. Sofa bed was comfy but it felt kinda gross. Sheets were clean at least though I think. Only redeeming quality was the excellent indian/continental place downstairs/around the corner. Room not really worth the price but factoring in the location it’s okay.

After a dismal error on booking.com losing our planned accommodation on one of the busiest weekends in hawkesbay. The team at Nautilus took us in with great care an service. Sarah THANK YOU for your compassion in a very stressful situation. May your kindness be returned 10 fold

Perfect place to stay. Walking distance to all amenities, housekeeping was impeccable, great view. Also recommend popping into Kohinoor Continental for breakfast AND dinner for a great meal or two. The ribs are some of the best I've eaten
