Well, where should I begin? It’s difficult and I must say beforehand that I am writing a review about the rooms and restaurant together. If I would have written a review just about the restaurant….5 star, easy. Fantastic food, well prepared, super lovely presented and the service was superb. That was that. The other thing was the room tough. The room itself looked nice, nothing too fancy, soft bed and ok spacious bathroom. Nevertheless there was no door to the bathroom, which was ok for my partner and me, but could be a big bummer for someone. The worst part of the stay was the night. We barely slept through because of a very loud noise which apparently came from some pipes or water heater. It was so loud that we woke up more than just a few times. Almost every hour or so we would be broken out of sleep. The next morning we kindly confronted a staff member and she said, while understandable to a degree, it would be because it’s an old building, what felt more like a dismissal than a solution. We would have appreciated at least a small gesture of compensation for the disturbed night or even a sorry. Perhaps this issue only affects certain rooms. Others may have a better experience. It feels horrible to give such nice place 3/5, but I want to be honest here.

Fabulous lunch with family! One of the tastiest chicken burgers I’ve had in a very long time. Staff were friendly and attentive, with incredibly efficient service. The building itself is beautiful, with a warm and cosy interior. Highly recommended!

We recently stayed in a large group from Friday 16th - Monday 19th of May at The New Inn for our wedding at the nearby Cripps Barn.|We held a group dinner on the Friday night at the New Inn before the wedding Saturday, and then stayed through until Monday to celebrate for the whole weekend with our family and friends.||The service, rooms, food & drinks from start to finish was nothing short of perfect and we can’t stop talking about how brilliant they made the weekend with such a wonderful base to come back to and get ready for the big day in ||In the lead up to the wedding my husband was in contact with the team who helped to advise us on a hot buffet/small plates style dinner and we’re so helpful & friendly with our (many) questions! |Come the weekend - check in was very smooth and all rooms absolutely gorgeous, the “bridal” suite with the terrace was so special. We were given a tour of everyone’s rooms and then talked through the meal and the fact we would have a manager allocated just to us overseeing it. We started the evening in the beer garden (with such a wide selection of beers and drinks - Best Aperol Spritz I’ve had in years!) before heading into the restaurant for our private group meal. The portions and food were fantastic, the sliders in particular were insane! The food just kept coming and was such great value for money. ||Come the wedding morning breakfast was absolutely delicious and the staff were all so friendly & lovely to our family and friends and accommodating to any requests. The morning after our wedding - the 2 ladies covering breakfast (so sorry we didn’t catch your names) were so sweet with us all and congratulated us on our wedding etc again making us feel very special. |||Monday morning before we left they also kindly accommodated a few of our friends who were staying up the road and letting them buy a breakfast each so they could sit with the rest of us before we said our goodbyes. ||Rooms & beds were so comfortable, spacious & beautifully designed. We had nothing but compliments from all our guests that stayed for the weekend ||The rooms, food and facilities were fantastic - it’s such a beautiful Cotswold pub with such a lovely atmosphere and is so worth a visit, if you are thinking of staying at The New Inn or eating there for a special occasion don’t hesitate ! They were amazing ||Thank you so much to everyone at The New Inn for making our wedding weekend so special ||Fran & Charlie

Eaten here several times - it is always busy. I am amazed at how they get food out in volume to such a high standard and at a reasonable price. The Flat Iron chicken is amazing, as is Pork Schnitzel. Nice friendly service too and it is a peach of a country pub visually. I will be back (This week in fact!).

The setting of the rooms was lovely and so was our family suite room. However it was quite dusty in the room and could tell it had been like that for a while. |Staff on arrival were very friendly. However, they could have provided more information about the process with breakfast and check out (time etc) |The restaurant was lovely and we both had high hopes looking forward to dinner but overall experience was not very enjoyable. The service was very slow. We waited 30+ minutes after receiving the bill to be able to pay.|I had the ribeye steak for dinner and for £32 I was quite disappointed as the steak was reasonably small and arrived in the sauce which made it quite soggy. My partner ordered a chicken burger and was quite satisfied with this. |We attended the dinner hoping to have a Sunday dinner each, but were told they have ran out. There were also multiple meals/items on the menu which were missing off the menu leaving a very limited option to start with. |Car parking was quite limited but as the night went on, spaces freed up a bit. Something to keep in mind if you stay here as there is limited road side parking as well. ||Overall, the stay was lovely! However, there are multiple things I mentioned which would put me off staying here again.

The staff was really nice and the food was good, had both breakfast and dinner, though some more vegetarian dishes on the menu would be nice. The room however was a disappointment - felt very run down, poorly maintained, huge stains on the carpet and the bathroom was not super clean unfortunately. Would recommend coming for dinner but not necessarily staying over

Excellent lunch… could not fault anything. Service excellent, food outstanding, outdoor seating was lovely. Looking forward to returning. Shout out to the waiter for recommending the side of vegetables to go with my sole, they were top notch.

We were here at the weekend based on a friend's recommendation. Food was just excellent. Menu is short, with both Mains and Smalls which was ideal for my parents who don't eat much. Similar price to other Cotswold pubs but really really good food - we were so impressed. Serving staff were a bit dopey - seemed young and inexperienced - but nothing too amiss. Overall, this was a fabulous treat.

Yelp
This inn offers plenty of outdoor seating (covered) as well as a refined indoor dining area and casual indoor dining area. Service is friendly. Recommend: treacle sponge and custard

Yelp
Neat and well presented pub with rooms in the chocolate box village of Coln. My room was on the small side but clean and comfortable. As with many similar inns , room access can be a bit difficult so it's perhaps advise able to check that if problems might arise. Parking is good behind the inn which iis easy to find on the village Main Street. Cosy bar and a cooked breakfast with additional buffet items available.
