We recently stayed in a large group from Friday 16th - Monday 19th of May at The New Inn for our wedding at the nearby Cripps Barn.|We held a group dinner on the Friday night at the New Inn before the wedding Saturday, and then stayed through until Monday to celebrate for the whole weekend with our family and friends.||The service, rooms, food & drinks from start to finish was nothing short of perfect and we can’t stop talking about how brilliant they made the weekend with such a wonderful base to come back to and get ready for the big day in ||In the lead up to the wedding my husband was in contact with the team who helped to advise us on a hot buffet/small plates style dinner and we’re so helpful & friendly with our (many) questions! |Come the weekend - check in was very smooth and all rooms absolutely gorgeous, the “bridal” suite with the terrace was so special. We were given a tour of everyone’s rooms and then talked through the meal and the fact we would have a manager allocated just to us overseeing it. We started the evening in the beer garden (with such a wide selection of beers and drinks - Best Aperol Spritz I’ve had in years!) before heading into the restaurant for our private group meal. The portions and food were fantastic, the sliders in particular were insane! The food just kept coming and was such great value for money. ||Come the wedding morning breakfast was absolutely delicious and the staff were all so friendly & lovely to our family and friends and accommodating to any requests. The morning after our wedding - the 2 ladies covering breakfast (so sorry we didn’t catch your names) were so sweet with us all and congratulated us on our wedding etc again making us feel very special. |||Monday morning before we left they also kindly accommodated a few of our friends who were staying up the road and letting them buy a breakfast each so they could sit with the rest of us before we said our goodbyes. ||Rooms & beds were so comfortable, spacious & beautifully designed. We had nothing but compliments from all our guests that stayed for the weekend ||The rooms, food and facilities were fantastic - it’s such a beautiful Cotswold pub with such a lovely atmosphere and is so worth a visit, if you are thinking of staying at The New Inn or eating there for a special occasion don’t hesitate ! They were amazing ||Thank you so much to everyone at The New Inn for making our wedding weekend so special ||Fran & Charlie

We ate at the restaurant twice. The first time was really good, service was great and the food was was delicious. The second time, a waiter threw-up (actually vomited!) whilst he was carrying plates near us. The meal started off well with delicious small snacks and starters, but unfortunately after that, it all went downhill! Not because of the food itself, but the experience and restaurant management's attitude. One of the waiters stood in the middle of the restaurant dining room (with customers still eating around him) and projected his VOMIT outward while still standing there... I couldn't believe what I was seeing!!! The worst thing was that the restaurant staff didn't seem to be bothered or concerned by it, from a hygiene perspective. Nor did they check with the customers to see if customers we were OK/if there was anything they could do as a gesture. This experience raises the question of overall hygiene standards in the restaurant. VERY disappointed with the experience we had after paying for quite an expensive meal.

What an amazing place to stay if you are seeking a peaceful place that’s quiet and relaxing. The rooms were clean and pleasantly updated. The food was excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We arrived late without a reservation and yet they strived to give us a room and help us out with what we needed. The next morning we realized we had a flat tire and Amber interrupted her breakfast to go and get a pump so we could get back on the road. She then helped us locate a repair facility. The whole visit was enjoyable, but the staff made us feel so welcome that we definitely will return to stay here again. Our hats off to The New Inn. Highly recommend!

The New Inn is fabulous. We stayed in the dog friendly room above the kitchen which was beautiful and very comfy. There was no noise until 8am in the morning. The breakfast was delicious. We also had dinner which was excellent and there was a very good wine selection and not over priced. Would definitely recommend.

The rooms are clean and neat, and spectacularly quiet! The location was perfect for exploring the Cotswolds villages by day, and having a place with free parking in the back at night, with views over the countryside. But the best part of the New Inn was the restaurant/pub, with terrific food! We ate our dinners here the three nights we stayed, exploring the menu items.

We stayed at The New Inn on the recommendation of one of my husband’s colleagues – and we’re so glad we did! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. To our surprise, we were upgraded and got to stay in a suite. Such a treat! The bed was incredibly comfortable – we haven’t slept that well in ages. In the morning, we enjoyed a delicious à la carte breakfast that was beautifully presented and full of flavour. In short: The New Inn is a real gem. We’ll definitely be coming back!

The menu looks and sounds lovely! We were excited. Our experience was that the food was VERY oily & salty. The Jerusalem artichoke risotto was more cheesy soup than rice. The roast veggies were well overdone & very oily, we ate 1/3 and that was more than enough. The cod wasn’t very flavoursome nor the main part of the meal. When we asked what the vegan patty was, we were told that there wasn’t one (apart from a shroom burger, but that was a different dish.) Much back and forth. It was for a child so we did ask for the veggie burger option (it says to ask if you have allergies or dietary requirements.) Child was offered the £16 adult vegan burger: lettuce, tomato jam and pickled cucumber. We couldn’t comprehend it being just £1 less than the meat options. We were assured that although there was no veggie patty option, the cucumber pickles were the meat substitute. However, big surprise when it arrived, there was some kind of veggie patty (very crunchy & almost cremated on the outside with cheddar cheese cooked into it on top.) Child ate the bread and lettuce instead. The rump steak was nicely cooked & tasty but again overly salty. Didn’t drink the vodka, lime and soda as the quantity of lime cordial was so overdone it was awful. Hard to say whether any vodka had passed the rim of the glass and couldn’t be bothered asking for a re-do after so much back and forth over the child veggie option. We just wanted a lovely night out with great food & family on our holiday. Sticky toffee pudding was delicious as was the generous serving of salted caramel ice cream. Staff friendly but ill informed. ||Had booked to go again on Easter Sunday but cancelled our reservation having experienced the above. Sadly we would not recommend or return to eat, even though it’s the only option locally 😟

What an absolute gem of a place! We had visited over 10 years ago and loved it and this was the obvious choice for my husband's special birthday treat. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the lovely Gabriella at check in. She wished my husband a Happy Birthday, he was so surprised as was I, as I'd only casually popped it on the booking when asked if it was for a special occasion. Complimentary glass of bubbly and a free room upgrade to a suite, just set the tone for what was a perfect stay in an idyllic location. Special mention to Gabriella who looked after us so well. Also our waitress made our evening really special as did our parmesan truffle fries!!

Yelp
This inn offers plenty of outdoor seating (covered) as well as a refined indoor dining area and casual indoor dining area. Service is friendly. Recommend: treacle sponge and custard

Yelp
Neat and well presented pub with rooms in the chocolate box village of Coln. My room was on the small side but clean and comfortable. As with many similar inns , room access can be a bit difficult so it's perhaps advise able to check that if problems might arise. Parking is good behind the inn which iis easy to find on the village Main Street. Cosy bar and a cooked breakfast with additional buffet items available.
