The New Yorker Hotel (Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Take Cologne, a city that prides itself on its cultural heritage and its modern art scene, and New York, a city that famously offers a head-spinning range of galleries. Now compress the spirit of these two cities into one design hotel, and you’ve got a sense of the inspiration behind The New Yorker. Situated, like any self-respecting up-and-coming gallery, in an industrial part of town slightly (though still walkably) removed from the city center, this hotel offers far more than the average art-centric boutique. Sure, the guest rooms are sleek and stylish, but the hotel was designed to host cutting-edge events, and its bar and public spaces are just as vital to the overall atmosphere." - Tablet Hotels

The staff is nice and was easy to check in&out. We had a double room which was spacious, but we found lots of dust on the furniture, spiderwebs and the towels did not smell clean, so considering the price and stars of the hotel it’s not worth it. We were lucky to find 1 parking space in front of the hotel, as the hotel does not offer parking. The space here belongs to the city so anyone can park. The area seems like an industrial one so not much sightseeing to do but we found some nice restaurants nearby as the hotel does not offer dinner.

The hotel is nice and the service very polite and kind, they offer breakfast that you can add as well. The rooms are very clean and spacious, good lights and comfy. It’s a bit outside from the center, but you have connections.

It was a bit hard to find but the rooms were clean and looked good. The staff was exceptionally friendly. At check-in they even opened the terrace just for me. |Overslept my check-out by half an hour and they made no problem of it, charged me nothing extra. |"You partied a bit to hard it happens, no problem" . Great people, will go there again next time.

It's a bit far from cirty centre but for Bootshaus it's the best option. Hotel looked good, rooms were clean, staff was the best. At check-in they opened the terrace just for me and when i overslept my check-out with half and hour they made no problem of it at all and didn't charge me anything extra. "You partied a bit to hard, those things happen no worries" Best staff ever.

Property situated very close to Subway. We were surprised that they have Fee $.50 for early check in. And for baggage storage $.5 as never experienced any such charges. Room sizes were very compromising two luggage bags and no space to walk. Lobby is nice as usually in same vicinity usually lobby is not that nice. Over all good experience.

This is a huge hotel in a great location, Penn Station across the street. The hotel has been remodeled but still has a lot of art deco features that appeal to travelers like myself. We had a very large room on a high floor that was very quiet and had a great view. The hotel is very busy, but hey it’s NYC. Would definitely stay here again.

This was a nice clean hotel. There was a guy on the front desk who was an absolute gem. He was funny, helpful and knowledgeable and helped us enormously - a credit to the hotel. The room we had was spacious and clean, we got 2 extra pillows as the ones supplied where very thin. |On the downside the hotel is in a very scruffy, run down area. I can only assume it was build to service the convention centre which is close by. There is virtually nothing in the area (1 restaurant - the scampino I think) which was nice otherwise you have to go into the city which is 45 minutes walk. There is however a good bus service and scooters if you prefer. Another weird point is the hotel lift. It doesn't go to a floor but stops halfway between them so you have to walk up or down a flight of stairs to get to your room??? We never had breakfast at the hotel as it was expensive and they don't do other meals.|I would have given this hotel an extra star if it had been in a nicer area closer to amenities.

I just want to warn other guests from the hotel. Do not ask at the reception to call a taxi for you. I did this mistake, the taxi did not come on time, because they work with some private company. 15 minutes later I asked them to call for another taxi and was totally frustrated because I could miss my flight. This is really unacceptable and unreliable.
