The Noble House - by Unlock Hotels, a Design Boutique Hotel Evora, Portugal

"Combining history and Alentejo tradition with a modern concept, the recently and fully refurbished The Noble House - by Unlock Hotels offers a central location in Évora old town, 2 minutes’ walking from the Roman Temple and Évora Cathedral. The Noble House - by Unlock Hotels evokes its memories through the Roman wall, the tiles and the vaulted ceilings. All rooms include a flat-screen TV, mini-bar and a safe, and some rooms offer views of Alentejo plains. Guests can enjoy a breakfast each morning made of regional products and served in the vaulted breakfast room or in the terrace. The bar has kept original features such as the chimney and serves cocktails and regional wines. The Bones Chapel and Giraldo Square are around 1640 feet from The Noble House - by Unlock Hotels. Surrounding white-washed villages, like Évoramonte, are located a few minutes’ drive. The A6 motorway, offering access to Lisbon in a 1.5-hour drive, is around 8.7 mi. Arraiolos and Montemor-o-Novo are within 19 mi from The Noble House - by Unlock Hotels." - My Boutique Hotel (en)

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at Noble House Essence Évora Hotel. Last April, we visited for our anniversary and had a lovely stay. Our second visit did not disappoint. From the moment Felipe greeted us until the moment we checked out, we felt well taken care of and that we were valued guests. The location cannot be beat, and the breakfast was delicious and varied. We look forward to a third visit in the future!

We had a lovely stay at the Noble House nestled within the walls of the historic, walled city of Evora. We loved the location and the opportunity to explore the winding, narrow cobblestone streets. The Roman ruins were a short walk as were many other sights such as the Chapel of Bones. We enjoyed the small shops and restaurants nearby. As for the hotel itself, the staff could not have been more gracious and helpful, our room was very comfortable and immaculately clean. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

Sweet little hotel that bent over backwards to make our stay memorable. Fro t desk was super helpful. Loved the kitchenette and the fresh bread delivered to your door daily for breakfast was superb. Good choice of healthy breakfast items including fresh oranges to make delicious orange juice, yummy jams. Eggs, and really good muesli.

A really lovely old hotel that maintains it's unique atmosphere as a house of nobles while at the same time is very clean and up-to-date with amenities. The location in town is superb being just outside the noisy hub of daily activity yet only a short walk to all the sites within Evora. Like others, I was surprised at the space in our room, especially the bathroom which was far larger than our others in Portugal. The staff here is top notch and very helpful. I loved the breakfast buffet options and sitting on the terrace in the mornings and evenings was sublime. Parking is limited to 6 spots in a courtyard off Rua Conde da Serra da Tourega - this is also where one can drop off bags if parking the short walk outside the walls. If one drives down Rua Freiria de Baixo (the actual address), it is a very narrow street which required us to fold in our car's mirrors at one point to pass (in all fairness, the hotel advised the wider street for bag drop and I missed it).

The room is quite nice, but the air conditioning wasn't working properly and for that reason I simply couldn't sleep due to the cold. The first receptionist was a bit over which makes people feel uncomfortable, but at the same time I thank him for getting me a reservation in a restaurant on Dec, 25th. I also got a free stay in a future trip to Évora.

Stunning hotel in the centre of Evora, with access to everything (about 25 metres from the cathedral). The high ceilings and the amazing views of the countryside made the stay even better. Front desk was awesome (thank you David and Sara), and helped with restaurants and taxis. It was the second time there and it did not disappoint.

While the hotel itself and room were nice, I cannot recommend this hotel based on our abysmal experience upon arrival.||First, absolutely do not drive to this hotel. If you put it into your GPS it will take you on a street that I’m guessing should not actually have cars on it. I almost got stuck and ruined our rental car. A heads up or some direction from the hotel prior to check in would have been helpful.||Second, after a harrowing experience getting my car through basically an alleyway, I arrived to reception where my husband had already “checked” us in as we had arrived early and just wanted to drop our bags. There was one employee working the desk, no other guests in sight. I approached him to make sure my husband was able to check in ok as the reservation was under my name and to inquire about laundry service. The employee barely bothered to look up at me from a note he was writing and told me that he was very busy and I would need to wait a few minutes… for him to answer a question that would take 30 seconds. I attempted to clarify I just wanted to ask a quick question and was cut off saying again he was busy and I’d need to come back later. I was so taken aback and upset by his dismissal and total rudeness. We travel internationally frequently and are truly very low maintenance hotel guests. Never in my life have I been treated like this.||Unfortunately this interaction left me upset as we began sightseeing in town and really overshadowed what could have been a nice stay.||If you’ve read this far, please at least take away my warning about driving to the hotel and save yourself a lot of stress.

A beautiful hotel nestled in a prime location. Being an older city, we were concerned that our room wouldn’t accommodate the family, but wow, were we shocked. A beautiful room with ample space. From the entrance of the building to the room itself, we felt as though we were being transported into the past, with modern amenities. The hallways are strewn with antiques and artworks. The front courtyard made it feel grand and inviting. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. What a memorable stay. Can’t wait to return.

Yelp
The Noble House Hotel is a small boutique-type hotel within Evora's walled old city. This place has preserved most of its old-charm as seen by some the original traditional azulejo tiles in the buffet area. The rooms have AC and are clean with a minimalist interior decor. The beds are firm and comfortable and they provide great quality towels. They have a hair dryer, have a reasonable number of electrical sockets and a decent sized safe. They have strong wifi which is a must for travelers. The staff are 5-plus helpful. Our reservation had the sumptuos breakfast buffet included which we really enjoyed. We really enjoyed our stay. Note: They need to mitigate the unsightly mold on the bottom portion of shower stall.
