I chose this resort for the water view room and was not disappointed!!! This was a girlfriend getaway, one of the few places that has a room (actually multiple rooms) with two beds AND an amazing view! We were fortunate to take advantage of the balcony as it was unseasonably warm and sat outside for hours soaking in the lovely view! The room itself was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was beyond what I have had for buffet at any resort or hotel in the USA. Absolutely bountiful, creative, and so many tasty choices! Well done Nonantum! We will be BACK!|Thank you!

My friend lost and buried her father the week before, and navigated her mother (who has dementia) through the whole process. She needed to step away and I wanted a place where we could just relax. Nonantum Resort exceeded expectations. Ample and easy parking, gracious welcome, friendly staff throughout, beautiful and very clean room. At first glance, the menu for Hackman's Pub seemed a little ordinary - boy were we wrong! I had clam chowder, she had chicken noodle - both excellent. We shared a pizza (the sausage and mushroom one)... we both agree we'd drive out of our way to get it again! I'm not going to spoil the surprise of the optional night-time gift they'll bring if you want it - charming. Beds and pillows were comfortable - we slept like logs. Great shower experience. Breakfast was out of this world - so many fresh choices and attentive staff. We're coming back and will refer our friends!

I was there for a conference. The room I had was spotless and comfortable. The balcony had a wonderful view of the water. |The staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. The breakfast buffet was amazing. |All of us who stayed at Nonantum Resort agreed that it was a wonderful choice, and we would love to come back. The small town of Kennebunkport is picturesque and fun to walk around. I recommended Nonantum Resort to my daughter and her husband in case they wanted to get away somewhere quiet and peaceful.

We stayed right after Thanksgiving, the decorations were beautiful! Looked like you walked into a Hallmark movie set. We had our wedding there. Kelsey was fantastic and all of the staff were so warm and friendly! The food was great, we had Filet Mignon and it was cooked perfect! All in all, I was proud of our choice of venues and couldn't be happier with everything! Thank you all, Nonantum!

We had stayed at Nonantum Resort for many years. Now since our children have families of their own we keep the tradition going and meet at Nonantum every summer. |The people that work there are always pleasant and helpful. The food is always exceptional at breakfast and at the poolside dinning area. The walk to the beach short and the beach is beautiful. Walking to town is pleasant if we decide not to take transportation provided by Nonantum. |It is a relaxing and fun experience. We look forward to it every year.

Our stay at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport was absolutely wonderful! Our clean, beautifully decorated room had a private balcony with a waterfront view, where we enjoyed the quiet serenity each morning. The included breakfast was fantastic, and Gail, the breakfast manager, along with Ron, made every morning pleasant with their friendly and attentive service. Plus, the resort is within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants in town, making it the perfect location for a relaxing getaway.

Google
Wow, what a beautiful location. Rooms are amazing. Staff is so nice and it is very close to downtown and the main attraction, the Bush estate. The complimentary breakfast is the best breakfast buffet i have had in many years. Highly recommend staying here. I know I will next time I am in the area.

Google
Excellent stay. Great waterside location, beautiful views, friendly approachable, staff. Easy walk to town center with shopping and restaurants. Room was clean and bright, food is excellent, including breakfast buffet. We will be returning next year.

Yelp
We could not have made a better decision choosing to get married and have our wedding at the Nonantum. Amanda is a great coordinator and incredible to work with. She helped us plan the event and ensure we had everything figured out, like how many appetizers to have, which napkins to choose, where to place things at the reception. She was always happy to answer any questions and guide us in the right direction. At the rehearsal, she led everyone through the ceremony for the next day, alleviating any nerves. And on the day of, she helped coordinate everything, so that it ran super smoothly, even when everything was moved inside due to rain. All the staff who worked at the wedding were also amazing -- helpful, friendly, and professional. The venue (we were in the ballroom) is a perfect backdrop for your vision come to life, and the location itself is right on the water and so beautiful. The food was delicious, like a fancy dinner out! Everything was fresh, high-quality, and flavorful, and the portions were a good size. The plating was also very nicely done. Some favorites of the night were the lobster, steak, lamp lollipops, and cookies. You can tell everyone at Nonantum puts a lot of care into what they do, and it really reflected on our wedding. Thank you so much for helping us have the best day!

Yelp
We just had a very nice stay at the Nonamtum resort. There were very big pluses. The resort has an incredible view of the sea and the dock where a lot of tours are available for the public. I have yet to go on one. There is a great space for kids to run around with some activities such as cornhole, yoga, and of course the swimming pool. You can rent out kayaks and paddle boardsfrom the activity center. This is actually a very good family resort for all ages especially small kids. I had fun but my only wish it was more designated for adults and the pool is very small which targeted a lot of children.... When I get in the pool they seem to swim towards me. Oh well. The other plus is there is an amazing understated restaurant overlooking the pool and sea view. Latitudes was surprisingly delicious. Omg! I really loved the grilled shrimp the tuna lobster and scallops. They passed all flying colors with me and they should really do something about formal dining at least in an incredible lawn area designated for fine dining... it would totally work. I did not expect the high cuisine level but it did come recommended by Pete at the front desk who was a complete gentleman! He was very personal and answered all sorts of questions. The minuses of the resort is tthere is no gym facility and I could hear footsteps in the room I was staying in which would explain the free ear plugs they provide you in the hotel room. But our room had an incredible water view so I saw serenity. I really liked my balcony space. Lastly, the big plus for this hotel was the inclusive breakfast which comes with your room rate. I loved the portions but the breakfast was a hit or miss...the first day the hash browns were dried and hard and the next day the waffles were hard and dried. What went well was my quiche, the corn hash, the sausages, the fresh berries, and zucchini bread... Very satisfying. I also love the friendly's faces and good attitudes of the staff. I like them... all very happy and sweet. There were also a lot of functions happening while we were there over the weekend. Clearly they make good business here. I think that I would be okay coming back here but if they only had a quiter designated place for adult dining.. it would totally work outdoors. Also the room rate over the summer weekend is pricey.

Yelp
We recently stayed here for a few nights during our summer vacation in Maine. Our family of four booked a king with 2 twins port side. It had a second bathroom and a balcony. The breakfast was great. It had a lot of the usual hot items but also healthy options like yogurt and fresh fruit. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pool was a little small but it gets the job done, especially for the kids. Latitudes is convenient for drinks and food. The resort is a short walk to downtown shopping and restaurants. I have two small complaints, albeit very minor. 1 - a small fitness center or gym would be great especially if the kids are busy at camp nonatum or to squeeze in a workout on a rainy day. 2 - a small laundry room would be beneficial for those unexpected mishaps or accidents. Neither would inhibit me from staying here again....we already reserved a family suite for next summer.

Yelp
A beautiful fall weekend that ended with an amazing wedding reception that has been described as "stunning" for it truly was magical. Food: Exceptional every bite from breakfast, the pub, deserts, drinks and then the wedding. They truly have this down! I didn't expect this to be as exquisite as it was. In a large wedding where not one bite was anything but delicious; it is not an easy task, they "nailed it" (said one of my siblings!) Venue: What can be said other than breathtaking, a gem in the area. Venue Design: Outside designer, Cheri Dirksen, amazing. PIPER Rooms: Quaint, clean and comfortable, yes a bit "noisy" during weddings (I would say festive) but a strictly adhered to quiet time after 10. Our room was on third floor meaning there was a floor above and one below, yet it was a serene get away without any disturbance in the midst of a bustling wedding filled weekend. Staff: The staff couldn't have been any more attentive and essentially felt like family. Each one (amazingly) were ready to assist when needed (right down to providing last minute help with ring bearers pants falling down!) and most importantly kind beyond measure (each and every staff member). They couldn't do enough for everyone in our party, and I observed the same attention for those who weren't attending the wedding. Yes, weddings can be stressful and yes there can be a bump or two, but when your venue embraces your vision, helps to adjust if needed and does this with grace so that in the end there isn't a whisper of anything but a beautiful event and memory, this is the place to be.

Andrea H.

Yelp
This is by far the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. Every staff member we interacted with was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was absolutely stunning, the views are incredible. They have an outstanding breakfast buffet each morning. You can go out on a boat and see lobster trapped, there are bikes to rent, canoes, activities for kids. It's also in walking distance to lots of cute shops downtown.

C. B.

Yelp
This place is very charming, and the staff are kind, but I will say that the difference between our stay last year and our stay this year had noticeably declined. The breakfast-- their star feature-- is now fully out in the open, spread out on two long tables with 360-degree guest access. There are lots of kids running everywhere and putting their hands all in it and parents just not caring enough to stop them. It feels pretty unsanitary. The WiFi is ABYSMAL. If you need to do anything on a laptop, good luck-- and we were unable to video chat back home any of the nights we stayed because the call wouldn't connect. The rooms are all very clean-- that's such a nice feeling when you realize how much we get used to at chain hotels. The redesign of the gift shop to sell foods and heavy snacks was really well-done, and the soft serve machine is a great addition. I was hoping this might be a place we keep coming each year, and we will give it another chance-- the people really are lovely.

Lisa M.

Yelp
Loved this place. We had a beautiful room overlooking the water. Lovely. The included buffet breakfast was one of the nicest I've been to. Many homemade pastries, eggs, bacon, lots of fresh fruit, hot oatmeal. Can't say enough positive things. Easy walk to town.

Carolyn J.

Yelp
The cancellation policy is far too restrictive for a four star resort. Hope they enjoyed my $500+ donation. Too many other nice options in town to bother staying at Nonantum.

Greta S.

Yelp
Lovely owner, staff. Easy walk into town for dinner, shopping. I happily will return.

Nupur B.

Yelp
It can get very LOUD in the night. I could hear people in the lobby and even muffled conversations in neighboring rooms. It's quite strange that they have ear plugs and also encourage using sound machines provided in the room to drown the noises. Quite a scenic and charming setup though. Their location is prime; close to downtown and riverfront property. But meh, I don't think I will return (peak season rates are very steep for what you get). We were here in an off-peak season and even then I was disturbed by the noises.. can't imagine what it is like in summer or peak fall...

Nina O.

Yelp
This is our absolute favorite place to stay when vacationing in Kennebunkport. The entire staff from the front desk, hostesses, bartenders, wait staff are all pleasant and most helpful at all times. We have stayed at the Nonantum about 6 times now and never a negative experience. Beautiful, inviting grounds, serene front porch, fun bar and reataurant areas.. We hope to return soon.

MK K.

Yelp
It was great! Reasonably priced, clean rooms, nice views, kid friendly, AC. Close to town. What more could you ask for!

Eugene P.

Yelp
First said, it is extremely convenient and well maintained and clean. We spent a Wednesday and Thursday night there. We have typically visited this resort twice a year, in the past. We will never visit again. The room was akin to a Days Inn in both size and comforts. The bed was well used, close to the flood. The pillows were Days Inn variety and not at all comfortable. There was no internet service, we were not given any bottles of water, and for a handicapped person such as myself, the bathroom was difficult to maneuver due to its small size. There was nothing stately or charming about the room. We were charged $370 a night. On Wednesday I estimated by the number of cars that there were 6 rooms occupied. On Thursday there were perhaps a dozen occupied. The hotel has hundreds of room. Clearly management price gouged due to the overall Christmas festivities in Kennebunkport. We are handicapped senior citizens and $800.00 is a lot of money for us. Hotel pricing is always predicated upon occupancy. This was predicated upon greed. Shameful. We stayed in room 263 on Dec 7&8.

Yelp
5 stars for exactly what I was looking for!Not too fancy but not budget either. Appropriately priced. Staff went above and beyond to accommodate us, and were very friendly overall. Nonantum sits in the perfect location. It's in between Walker's Point and downtown Kennybunkport. It's also close to Colony beach. We walked and biked everywhere! No need to drive to dinner if in town. 95 ocean restaurant at the resort is an unforgettable experience itself. Breakfast included and excellent. Unfortunately, our lobster boat was cancelled due to strong winds. However, the general manager gave us a private walking history tour which made up for it! She was so personable and made us love Nonantum even more! The walking tour is free and upon request. Overall I felt very safe here during the pandemic. The hotel has limited capacity. It's very clean and social distancing is in place. Pool reservations are required (but easily obtainable). This place was so refreshing after coming from a jam packed Bar Harbor. Highly recommend! We will likely book again in the future!

Alan J.

Yelp
ROOM WAS SO LOUD! We could hear everything in lobby, hallway, and street. First hotel I've stayed in ever that offers earplugs on nightstand! Seriously absurd, when the fee was $400+. Would have never booked this place had anyone said they give you earplugs because they can't do proper noise cancellation in the overpriced rooms. Absolutely cannot recommend this place.

Atoya T.

Yelp
I did not stay at this hotel, but I did want to compliment the restaurant. I went for lunch, ordered the clam chowder and lobster roll. The clam chowder was the best I've ever had and definitely the best in town. I appreciated how you had a choice of a warm butter lobster roll which is what I enjoyed. Definitely a generous amount of lobster meat. To top it off the service was exceptional.

Laurie D.

Yelp
Staff at pub bar seemed unhappy, distracted and overall unpleasant. Barely acknowledged us when we sat. Menus and bill tossed at us without comment. Complaining about other customer orders loudly enough for everyone at bar to hear. Very disappointed

Holmes O.

Yelp
Starting with Patrick our experience here has been nothing but wonderful. Everyone is professional and committed to providing an exceptional customer experience. Thank you all we can't wait you back. Your Texas friends - Holmes & Kirsty

Yelp
We loved our stay at the Nonantum Resort! This is an awesome historical hotel located about 3/4 of a mile from Kennebunkport. It is a leisurely walk to any of the local attractions / restaurants or you can take the complimentary shuttle around town. The grounds are very well maintained and the whole place is decorated with a unique flair. The staff is the key to the Nonamtum experience. Everyone is friendly and willing to do anything to make your stay great. Kids have tons of activities to do and the teenage staff is excellent with children. Crabbing, dance parties, smores and craft sessions are all avaiavle to entertain youngsters while adults can relax. There are all the basics of a full service resort here including: pool, restaurant, bar, concierge, lounge, etc. The breakfast buffet is outstanding and including in your rate. Food from the bar was also good and drinks were reasonable priced ($7 beers). The views of the water are awesome and there are plenty of Adirondack chairs to sit around and lounge in. We upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite. This was a good move as a standard room would have been way too small! The rooms in the main hotel were built over 100 years ago, so people are way bigger now. We didn't spend much time in the room beyond sleeping as there was so much to do. We paid over $450 a night in August, but it was well worth it in my opinion. This is an awesome family resort! I highly recommend staying here!

Averyl H.

Yelp
Dinner: Excellent food. Private cabana overlooking the river?! This is real, people. It's not just a dream. Go and get yours.

Mark K.

Yelp
Their response to Covid- no housekeeper available. You must request from front desk soap, toilet paper, fresh towels, forget about having you bed made. I understand some may choose to decline or limit housekeeping for safety purposes, but here you have no choice - not available. Oh buy the way, prices are still the same - no reduction there. Staffing shortage problems galore. Rather old and run down interiors. Grounds lack attention - grass was overgrown Better places in kenneybunkport to stay. We won't be back.

Lynn P.

Yelp
Amazing service, beautiful views, and great service! I would 100% stay at the Nonantum again! I accidentally left a few things in my room and without asking, they carefully wrapped and shipped all of my things. T_T Thank you Nonantum!

Steve E.

Yelp
Well let's start with the positives. One, it's a place to stay out of the cool weather. Two, our plans changed and they very kindly let us out of the second night we had reserved. I'm searching here. That's two stars. But $400+ a night? For what? I get where I am, high season, etc. but you HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING. I felt like I was at a KOA motel. After a night spent levitating over the bed in an attempt to not touch anything, I went into the shower with the 6 1/2 foot drop ceiling and the water pressure of a man needing flomax. Seriously. One bright side though is the toilet is so low you won't have to worry about getting your morning stretch routine. My hammys haven't been this loose in years! One other major plus is the security Rod for our first floor room. The technology is unreal. See pics for details.

Katie D.

Yelp
We just celebrated our 5th anniversary at the Nonantum and it couldn't have been better. We had dinner in their private riverside cabanas. It was easily one of the best meals we have had. The lobster fried rice is to die for. You can even get a s'mores bucket with house made marshmallows for dessert! The service was excellent and it was absolutely beautiful by the river. I hope they keep the cabanas post COVID. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned and we felt very safe.

Yelp
The Nonantum Resort is a nice, quiet, and beautiful resort near the town of Kennebunkport which offers a great place to stay in Maine if you love the outdoors. And while the resort is not the most modern, it still offers tons of activities, its own private bay, in the peaceful stay in the New England area. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Facility, Return) Atmosphere - Have you ever seen the movie Dirty Dancing? Well this is the type of resort that reminds me of that movie. It's a seaside resort, so expect a lot of wood, seaside themes, and beautiful weather. You have to visit during the summer to really experience how amazing the weather is in Maine, and the resort like this really takes advantage of that climate. 1 Star. Service - Staff is very friendly. We checked in very late on Friday night, and had our own personal security guard to escort us to our room. Also, the staff during breakfast are very friendly. There is always someone walking around the feel your cup with coffee, & they want to make sure you are during your meal, and apparently the film very welcome. In fact, every single staff member that we ran into or needed assistance from was extremely nice. Every day outside in the main lawn area there will always a big tent for activities. Here you can sign up for a number of things, and parents with children will be happy to know there are several opportunities for kids to stay busy. 1 Star. Facility - if there was one negative I can think of about The Nonantum Resort is that the resort itself is not as up-to-date as many others. The restrooms in the rooms were quite small; however, our balcony with very big in the view was tremendous. There wasn't much storage space in the event either, and well earlier I said the resort reminded me of the movie Dirty Dancing, it's also because it seems as old as that movie too. But the beds are comfortable, there's a nice Kureg coffee machine in the room, and if you are only using the room for sleeping then it should fit your needs very well. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I enjoyed my stay at The Nonantum Resort very much. It is a very convenient location, with Portland, ME only a short drive away along with several public beaches and shopping. The resort town of Kennebunkport is also a fantastic tourist trap, and will keep you busy with plenty of small boutique shops and some delicious restaurants. 1 Star. My Yelp Rating Scale (Sum of all parts): 1 Star - Atmosphere - Is it a cool dive? Perhaps an upscale place? No matter the type, atmosphere plays a big part and I'll give a star if I like it or thinks it has great charm. 1 Star - Service - You can have a great meal with bad service. But that's also what can make a five star joint drop to four. It's important to the dining experience that service is great and on point. 2 Stars - Facility - I'll award up to two stars for the facility, since this is the main reason we go out. Sometimes the extra star is given for value, but it's really all about the facility. 1 Star - Will I come back? - If I know for a fact I'll return, I'll give this a star. A place has to make an impression for me to return. Each Category can be given up to 1 star except food (2 stars) because I consider all these categories important to the overall dining experience. I will sum them up to provide my final Yelp score.

Ralph B.

Yelp
We just came back from a weekend wedding here. What puts this place over the to is the service. Food is wonderful. Accommodations are simple, and very old school. From how you are greeted when you arrive to breakfast waiters helping with the buffet (very good and fresh) to our dinner waiter, we were impressed with their true commitment to making you feel at home. Not stuffy, but warm and comfortable. When I realized I did not have collar stays when dressing for the wedding, one of the front desk staff took his out for me to use. Will want to come back on our own some time.

Jen S.

Yelp
I have been to many absolutely beautiful weddings at The Nonantum and today our family went for their Mother's Day Brunch. It was so wonderful! Excellent service by friendly staff and the food was very good. They offered such a diverse and delish buffet style menu. This was most definitely not your run of the mill buffet. I was very pleased to see so many healthy offerings as well. They had a carving station with New York Strip (cooked to perfection), pork loin with mango chutney, as well as salmon, shrimp cocktail, mussels, roasted vegetables, risotto, various salads. They also offered a made to order omelet and egg station with many accoutrements, along with crispy bacon and maple sausage. There was also tons of fresh fruit, along with numerous scrumptious desserts such as a decadent chocolate cake and lime cheesecake (my favorite)! Top notch service and a wonderful meal with beautiful views. Highly recommended!

Yelp
My wife and toddler stayed here for 3 nights after spending the first part of our Maine vacation up near Rockland at the beautiful Samoset Resort. Comparing the two, the Nonantum Resort is nowhere near as luxurious as the Samoset for a number of reasons. First, for a place to label it a resort should include at a bare minimum a fitness center and spa. The Nonantum has neither but charges equal if not more than most with the same moniker. No doubt it can get away with this due to its impeccable location on the river and it's proximity to town and its valuable free shuttle service to town and beautiful Gooche's beach. Tom, the shuttle driver is awesome and reflects the professional caring staff that work here. Second, the resort needs a major facelift from top to bottom from things like the terrible WiFi to the outdated bathrooms to the shabby lobby furniture and that strange 'fairy' garden that occupies a large part of the front facing lawn. Open that front area up, make it usable and viewable to showcase the property and have guests lounge out front. Lastly, to make this a comparable resort a major investment needs to be made to the outdoor pool area. Any hotel/resort rehab show would tell you that to have a large, inviting, family -friendly pool with hot tub is an instant money maker and a major incentive for families with toddlers to stay there. If you replicate what the Samoset has in terms of pool amenities this place could rival that resorts pool area hands down. Instead the pool there now is small, tiny and doesn't take advantage of the amazing water views all around it. The area is a bit tacky and the way it's marketed on the website is frankly disingenuous which was our biggest gripe. The resort looks like it makes most of its revenue via weddings and anniversaries, etc so it probably doesn't need to make many updates just because but in today's hyper competitive resort marketplace with 24/7 reviews the challenge to the Nonantum are pressing and we want to come back but don't think it is worth the price of admission when there is so many alternatives out there.

Nancy B.

Yelp
Enjoying a beautiful night at the Nonantum rooftop. Amazing views, incredible staff, Jenifer was attentive, friendly , A true representative of the wonderful Nonamtum staff . Will definitely be back!

Kerrie D.

Yelp
I recently attended a brunch at the Lovely Nonantum resort for Mother's Day. The Nonantum sits on an absolutely stunning stretch of oceanfront in downtown Kennebunkport. For Mother's Day, the Nonantum went all out with live piano music, a crackling fire in the warm and comfortable entrance, a fun and goofy photo booth for families and an incredible array of delicious food with specialty carving and benedict stations! I was particularly struck by the welcoming staff at the Nonantum. As families came in for Mother's Day, the staff engaged with guests of all ages. Offering small treats to active toddlers or an arm to those having a hard time walking into the dining room. The food was delicious and very well prepared. I LOVE benedicts and was able to craft my own combination with fresh ham, spinach and mushrooms...still thinking about it! There are also beautiful sweeping views of the ocean from the dining rooms. Even though it was essentially a gray and rainy day, it was a gift to look out the window at the water and dream of sunnier days.

Caitlin C.

Yelp
We stayed at the resort for one night on our way home from Bar Harbor. The room was clean, the bed especially the comforter was very comfortable, and the welcome gift (a small painting) was a nice touch. The concierge was helpful upon arrival. They gave us an early check in. The water view from our room was beautiful. It is walking distance to restaurants and downtown. We would highly recommend!

Sansan H.

Yelp
This is a great place for family. Please make sure you reserve for the pool, firepit, kayak, cabana dinner, etc. Staff is accommodating and the food is amazing. We did our extra cleaning in the room - just to be precautious with covid. Overall, it is great experience.

Brenda T.

Yelp
When I booked a room here, I had images of a resort similar to where Baby spent the summer in Dirty Dancing. The grounds were beautiful with fall decor all around and Halloween just days away. I checked in at night and circled the parking lot several times before lucking up on a space. I later learned that there was also parking across the street, which wasn't my first choice as a solo traveler. I walked onto the front porch and through the main doors into a cozy foyer and living room with a fireplace. I walked to the far end of the hallway to access the elevators. My 2nd floor room was surprisingly small and felt a bit like a dorm room. A bed, two chairs, and a view of a rooftop. It felt like the housing quarters for the undesirables, you know, how they put Patrick Swayze and his crew in staff quarters away from the main resort. Perhaps this is how all the single rooms looked, or my choice to use a free hotels.com night earned me a basic room. The walls were thin and my bed was close to the door, so you will hear most goings on in the hallway and in the dining area below. Fortunately, my stay was short, service was cordial, and I actually slept well thanks to quiet neighbors. I wanted to love it, but there were no personal touches to my time there. The location, however, was perfect for a 2 mile morning walk along the water and Parsons Trail. Just turn right out of the resort and follow the sound of the ocean.

Yelp
What a beautiful hotel. The best part was the staff. They could not have been nicer. The front desk ladies bent over backwards making sure we had great options for fun things to do. We only ate breakfast at the hotel but food was delicious and free. They have a cute pub and a piano player in the lobby. The free shuttle was great for times it was too dark to walk back from dinner. Within a few minutes they were there to pick us up. The room was small but cozy and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again

Yelp
When booking our trip we read reviews and even called the property to make sure we were getting a nice room. It's very expensive which is fine as long as it's up to par. Starting with checking in the girl was not helpful nor did she go over anything we should have been informed of she sent us on our way. When we opened the door to our room both my our faces dropped to the floor. The room looked like it was from a motel 6. It was hot musty and lacked any type of charm or character. I called the front desk to no avail. We were here so let's make the most of it right? We have to keep our shades closed as we are in a corner room and the neighbors can see directly inside our room and us there's. So now we are in a motel 6 with no outside light. Second day before leaving for the day I called the front desk to see if there was daily cleaning or towel change as we were not informed. I had to leave a message which I did asking for new towels no cleaning. 8 hours later upon our return no towels no return phone call so we had to call a second time and finally got towels. We are here 2 more nights and I wish we could leave it's that bad. Our friends are in another room and feel the same way. Horrible service, room would not recommend.

Yelp
Well I am going to stay there in 5 weeks. I had two rooms and canceled one. $25 to cancel a room. I expect to be ripped off at every opportunity by this place. I argued and the fee was waived. Take heed.

Yelp
This resort was so charming and the perfect getaway. The staff was kind and upgraded us when I mentioned the trip was for my birthday. Our room was beautiful with a picturesque view of the boats on the water. The resort was peaceful and a great place to escape to relax. Highly recommend staying here.

Yelp
I was very unhappy with 3 things when I stayed here. 1. The only place for breakfast is the hotel, and it's a buffet that is not very good. Most problematic for people who don't eat pork is that most of the dishes are pork laden. Very unimpressed and unhappy that this was the only option and ~$18. 2. Paper thin walls and ceilings - did not sleep well at all. 3. There was short dark hair in my shower (I have long blonde hair). The hotel itself is charming and the room I stayed in was nicely decorated and cozy. The shuttle service is awesome.

Yelp
I am giving one star because the benefits this hotel does have, others have the same so I do not feel it is a perk. This trip was a mom trip away. We selected this hotel due to the great reviews, and pictures we had seen online. The room was very small, but clean. The view was horrible. The person just walking above us created quite a bit of noise, but just from walking around. The room we were in really need to have screws and bolts tightened. I explain to my friend that surely due to hosting a wedding I'm sure this was the only option they had. We chose to try and make the best of it. We climbed in bed at 9, and joked about jack the beanstock up there walking around, but just got worse. The wedding party was directly by us. Even just laughing was beyond noisy due to the fact they had so many people in the room. We asked for a form of compensation from mgt in the morning and we were told there was no option due how we booked the room. When we did first arrive at the hotel we inquired about splitting the bill at checkout because we were sharing the cost. She said no problem with that. When I mentioned to the manager Colby we did inquire at check in about that the girl spoke up in the back and said " because I wasn't aware you booked through Expedia". My response to that was then why did you not correct the wrong and tell us the correct information once you found that out yourself. The part that is so upsetting is we asked for a refund, even just half of the $300 we paid for an off season Thursday night stay and she said there was no way. We were offered a gift card for the gift shop, which is very bad. Obviously catered to older women, and we even said souvenirs for the children. If you walk in the gift shop you will see it is the smallest gift shop, and it is the wardrobe of a 70 year old woman's. I honestly thought it was a joke. We are mid 30's and they had no selection. When we called Expedia they did agree the stay was bad, and agreed to fight for our refund with the hotel. He told me after speaking to Shelia (who was certainly quick to let me know she will not tolerate our complaints) said no refund, we already gave them a gift card. So let me understand, you could have given us a refund in the very beginning we just had to go about it a different way or you couldn't give us a refund? The communication is bad, and it's very clear their attitudes are to smile to your face, apologize, then over the phone get very ballsy and not care. In a nutshell Colby felt like we should have been compensated and did so with a gift card because according to her was the only option. Sheila did nothing and said the hotel should not be penalized because you picked your own room. Actually, Miss Sheila that is a lie. The option was not given, NOR did it say obstructed view. I explained to her I would be writing a review about my experience and her only response was "are you threatening us." I simply said it it my right to share my personal experience. Considering I am not a local many people chatted with me, inquiring of my experience here. I know Sheila was very concerned about my review, I just wish they were 10x more concerned of the word of the mouth instead. They did comp us, but in their way. We were denied the compensation due to the fact Sheila said the hotel shouldn't be penalized. Had they refunded our money and not given us the gift card like we asked I would have just taken this experience as an unfortunate event. We would have just laughed it off. Not only did we not get what we paid for. We also spent much time complaining to her, and Expedia. Sheila told me she would contact the owner immediately and let them know how she felt like we got no where with our conversation. I told her oh I was sure she would tell them her version, which came from a 3rd party anyways. I did also let her know I felt like their opinion was they got our money and Just waved us off. She was too worried about the review than actual feelings.

Yelp
Recently, we booked a last-minute overnight stay at the Nonantum Resort and couldn't have been more pleased. Easily one of the best experiences in the last 5 years of our travels around New England. The resort staff practices the finer points of customer satisfaction and they are very, very good at it. We were fortunate enough to get Louise on the phone and she was sensational. She is a true service professional who went above and beyond to accommodate us and answer multiple questions from first-timers. The resort sits on an amazing stretch of land on the Kennebunkport River with lots of open space to sit and chill in the Adirondack chairs, grab a drink from the outdoor bar or enjoy dinner in the heated, tented cabanas while watching the boats pass by. Louise assisted us with kayak and fire pit rentals both of which are highly recommended and really enhanced our stay. If you are looking for a place that's close to town with lots of activities available along with superb views directly on the Kennebunkport River and appropriately priced, then this is the spot for you to enjoy a truly authentic Maine get away. Additionally, complimentary breakfast was dynamite with quality selections, hot and cold. Thanks to to Louise and all the service professionals at the Nonantum, we give you A+ across the board.

Yelp
Perfect resort. Wish I could give more than five stars. Stunning grounds and lovely staff. Owners have thought through precautions to Covid-19 meticulously. Arrived early and took a picturesquely paddle on the kayak up the river to see the friendly boatsmen who welcomed us tourists to town. Enjoyed lunch on the grounds in the Adirondack chairs overlooking the river and lighthouse. Perfect lunch spot with outdoor dining and bar. Make a reservation early for a fire pit with s'mores or dinner with a heated lamp in the lighted huts by the river. Can walk to everything from the resort. Louise at the front desk is a gem! Perfect. Just perfect.

Yelp
Nice place, we have been coming to Kport for many years and decided to try this place. It's at the high end of the resorts, very noisy with lots of families with small children. Breakfast is included if you book with them direct, or save $90 a day and skip their breakfast buffet and try one of the many local spots. We recommend All Day Breakfast. They have only 1 elevator at the far end of the main bldg. Bottled water in the room is $3.50 each. The view is nice, right on the river with access to lobster cruise, fishing, kayaks etc. Beds are very comfy with a nice duvet. Walking distance to town and the beach. Other places we like are The Beach House, Yachtmans Lodge and Rumb Line.

Yelp
Can't say enough good things about the Nonantum Resort. The setting is perfect, with dock access to kayaks and charter boats. The room was spacious and updated. Breakfast was amazing. And best of all, the resort is very kid-friendly having an entire Activities Center devoted to kids' activities. The pool was great and the poolside grill serves delicious food and drinks. We'll be back!

Yelp
We just spent a delightful four days at the Nonantum and cannot say enough about the friendly staff and care that they have taken to ensure a wonderful experience. We loved the beautiful view of the river and spent evenings on our patio enjoying the sunsets. The cabana and Adirondack dining was awesome - go for the twin lobster rolls and chowder - delicious! Can't wait to return!

Yelp
"A brand for a company is like a reputation for a person. You earn reputation by trying to do hard things," well GM Tina Hewett-Gordon made it look easy when I needed a breakfast and lunch caterer and a parking lot for my crew of 30 on Monday and I called her the Saturday before. Right off the bat, Tina was transparent, polite and seemed genuinely eager to help. My crew was in awe of the breakfast hot buffet then in disbelief of the hot lunch buffet. Mushroom soup so good. If you are looking for a trustworthy, kind and all around phenomenal person, you are in great hands with Tina. Kennebunkport seems to be a community of high standards and interacting with Tina does not fall short but only exceeds the town's reputation of being exceptional. Long story, short if you're looking to do business with The Nonantum Resort especially GM Tina Hewett-Gordon, trust in Tina.

Yelp
This place is the real thing when you want a five-star lodging experience. No, it's not an order-everything-at-all-hours type of chain hotel, but a remnant of the 1900s resorts, where the beds are four-poster antiques that are practically four feet high, and you have honest-to-goodness furniture that would probably fetch hundreds of dollars at auction. Hardwood floors were covered in oriental rugs, there was a whirlpool/jet spa, and framed artwork--_real artwork_hung on the walls. Not one aspect is generic, from the glass dining room to the antique elevator that still requires a doorman to operate. They have a wide porch perfect for sitting and taking in the evening sun; if you ever want to leave your suite that is. This is a beautiful place, with beautiful river views and a uniquely old-world touch of class.

Yelp
This is one of those grand resorts down in Kennebunkport. We had eaten there before (at their restaurant 95 Ocean) but had never stayed. This time we stayed for the weekend during Christmas Prelude. We were there the Fire & Ice parties so I will say it was very crowded and lively, but that's what you expect when you have a ton of people coming to eat and drink in one of the biggest celebrations of the year. The room was nicely appointed, with a king sized bed and a large closet. The real treat was the bathroom with heated floors, wonderful as the weather was extremely cold that weekend. The staff were amazingly kind and helpful and composed with the throngs of people coming in and out that weren't even staying at the hotel but coming for Fire & Ice. The breakfast buffet that came with the room was probably the best I've had and even though I'm not usually a fan of buffets, this one was great. A view of the water and a gas fireplace along with some of the best muffins I've had completed the scene. I'd like to come back in the summer and stay, sit out by the water and have cocktails when it's a little warmer!

Yelp
On of my favorites get away and resort. Great service, clean, shuttle. I ordered flowers for Mother's Day and they were there before arriving. I order a cot and they offered me the cot with no charge

Yelp
First real extended visit to Kennebunk ( it was my son's wedding) and I must say the Nonantum Resort was top-shelf! Although we were part of a larger group, the place was very quiet. The rooms are clean, comfortable and modern, equipped with a quiet Mitsubishi Mr. Slim to keep the room comfortable. Simple directions to use it were provided for the uninitiated. The room also had a Keurig for that first cup of coffee in the morning. Because we were there for a wedding, our dining experience was maybe a bit unconventional. Nevertheless, our buffet breakfast was well prepared. The baked (?) beans they served on the side were exceptional as was the pecan sticky buns, buttery and sweet. The wedding reception dinners were well executed. My steak was perfect and the mashed potatoes and green beans equally so. My sister was inadvertently served the veggie option which she ate loved! The staff was very polite and attentive. The grounds were peaceful and immaculate. I'm looking forward to my return trip as a more conventional guest!
