Yelp
The restaurant promotes itself as using local, sustainably sourced ingredients where possible, but their fries are the industrial kind that have that thin batter coating, ostensibly intended to reduce waste by extending the time fries stay crisp. Imho, it's counter productive because I don't enjoy the processed fry effect/taste. And with the claim of using local Ingredients, i assumed the fries would be freshly cut from a Maine potato. Aside from the quality, the seasonings touted on the menu were just sprinkled on top, instead of being tossed with the fries, so after a few bites of Old Bay or (not-enough rosemary) salt, you're left with bland, unappealing fries.
Enough of that. Other items were fine -- except for the blueberry pie, whose texture appears to have been destroyed in the microwave--but the false hype puts a pall on the rest of the meal. Our waitress was attentive and personable, but their hostess needs training, and possibly an attitude adjustment. Despite a nearly empty restaurant, she kept us waiting at the desk with no explanation while she stared down at a screen. The restaurant deck is pleasant enough, but some landscaping or flower pots would be nice to mitigate views of the marina parking lot and the adjacent motel, which is very out of character for the area. I wouldn't recommend it.
