We recently got married at the North Branch Inn on September 21, and it was everything we wanted to experience with our families. Jake and Caroline were amazing throughout the entire process and were beyond accommodating with our event. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a wonderful rustic charm. The staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect and truly made us feel like the entire event was tailored just for us. The food menus were absolutely incredible! Each meal was thoughtfully curated and Jake took special care to put his own spin on classics from each of our families and wowing everyone of our guests with a wonderfully curated menu of amazing food. The personalized attention to detail, from the food to the ambiance, made the experience unforgettable for everyone. If you’re looking for a place that combines excellent attention and service, comfort and rustic charm, not to mention amazing food, North Branch Inn is it. We’re so grateful to have had such a special venue for our wedding and look forward to returning to continue enjoying the peaceful location and amazing food. Jake and Caroline were amazing to work with and we look forward to many more stays in the future.

Have not had dinner here in a while, their previous chef loved salt too much. We had an enjoyable dinner, my wife chicken was excellent ( and she is not a huge fan of chicken)and so was my burger. Not the fastest service around but not too bad and with a smile.good selection of beers.|The ambiance is rustic and welcoming. They lose a star because thy got rid of their classic bowling alley.

We couldn't have picked a more perfect venue than the North Branch Inn for our wedding! From the moment we arrived, the charm and warmth of the inn enveloped us. The staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was flawless, and the rustic yet elegant setting provided the most stunning backdrop for our special day. Working with Caroline throughout the entire process was a dream—she was attentive, organized, and truly understood our vision, making the entire process stress-free and enjoyable. A huge shoutout to Chef Jake…the food was absolutely incredible! Farm-to-table, fresh, and full of flavor, impressing all of our guests. He adjusted seamlessly to every dietary restriction (and we had them all!). The entire experience felt intimate and personalized, making our wedding truly magical. We cannot wait to return for our anniversary to relive the memories and enjoy the amazing atmosphere all over again. We are so grateful to the North Branch Inn team for creating such an unforgettable celebration! Highly recommend for any couple looking for a venue with heart, character, and really really good food!

The North Branch Inn was a recommended place to stay for a wedding we were attending in the area. It exceeded every expectation we had! We stayed in a King Suite in the Library building and the room was beautifully decorated and the bed so comfortable. We didn’t use the soaking tub but I’m sure it’s a treat for those who do.|Breakfast is included and includes a fruit course, a coffee cake of some kind, and then eggs and some sort of gourmet potatoes. You can tell the chef was trained in a French kitchen - the guy knows his stuff. Also their coffee is perfect. |We didn’t get to eat at the restaurant, but we did have a nightcap at the bar and it’s so cozy and friendly, we can see why they stay busy. |Love, love, love this place!

We stayed at the North Branch Inn at the end of October for a nearby wedding. It exceeded every expectation. We had one of the King Suites and the room was beautifully decorated, and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast is delicious and having a nightcap at the restaurant’s bar is a treat. Cannot recommend this inn more!

Lovely old in with a lot of charm. Rooms were very spacious and comfortable (we were in the Post Office) and the grounds were beautiful. Unfortunately they were not open for dinner the night we were there but the breakfast the following morning was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Absolutely gorgeous rooms, Inn and restaurant! The rooms were spacious and beautifully decorated and had plenty of outlets and nicely updated bathrooms. The stay includes breakfast, which was delicious! It came in 3 courses - fruit (sliced semi glazed peaches), something sweet (freshly made cake-donuts), and an egg with a carb (scrambled with blue corn grits). I should also mention the chocolate chip cookies that are sitting out in the parlor to enjoy upon check-in, which were 5 out of 5 stars! John, the manager, is great - he's helpful and friendly and accommodating. Also need to mention how pretty and relaxing the properties are - both have plenty of space to walk around, see the nearby brook or river, play yard games, and sit and do nothing. We will definitely be staying there again!

We felt the warmth and charm of North Branch Inn as soon as we arrived! The first thing you'll note when checking in is the caring attention to detail: the place is decorated in a rustic farmhouse style, giving it a vintage atmosphere with modern comforts. Our room was cozy - the bed and pillows soft - and you can tell each furniture item, including the record player and vinyl in a living space is thoughtfully chosen. Outside of the building, there its a sprawling green space to enjoy a nice stroll: one of our favorite spots to visit here is a lovely garden made with colorful plants and flowers. At the restaurant, we enjoyed an absolutely delicious breakfast each morning and a lovely dinner at night. We loved an apple appetizer created from the tree on the grounds! We think it's people that make a place extra special so we want to thank Chef Jake and John for welcoming us and making us feel at home. We definitely recommend a few nights here for some peace, nature, thoughtful design, and wonderful food. We couldn't ask for anything more!

Yelp
The bowling alley is gone, and now a high-end restaurant has been established at this location. I was underwhelmed. Service was slapdash and the food was uneven, some good, some less good. No menu is posted online except for a sample menu that does not necessarily reflect what is available on any given evening. So you take a risk coming here as it may not have what you want. This is not the only Sullivan County high-end restaurant that resorts to this "roll the dice" technique. The prices were "New York City in Sullivan County" high. Fixed price menu? Yes, but there were add-ons for the fish and the meat. A tiny piece of bread was chargeable. Overall I was disappointed.

Yelp
This was a little out of the way for us on the way to the finger lakes, but well worth it! Chef Jake (from Brooklyn) takes his food and presentation serious. His support staff worked like clockwork. Super nice, as we sat at the chefs counter. The raw mushroom (lions mane ) appetizer was delicious. 3 different types of garlic. With a touch of sweet made it just perfect! Loved the red lettuce salad, which they brushed the dressing on each leaf. Wow. Perfect. I had a pork chop about 2-1/2" thick. Wrapped In bacon with crispy pork rinds on top! You got to be kidding. Yum. With tender beans and my fave, broccoli rabe. My wife had the fluke. Soo tender and tasty, I had to beg to get a bite, lol. BTW, the inn was quite enjoyable. Wine at 5 in the living room. Nice. loved the feather pillows! Pease and Quiet and beautiful grounds.

Yelp
A 160 year old bowling alley?! It's actually one of the oldest bowling alleys in the country and we really enjoyed checking it out. The inn itself it super warm and cozy. You immediately feel comfortable when you walk in and it seems like a refuge from be cold weather. We sat across from the open kitchen and got to watch the chef do his thing. We ordered the pre set menu that come with a snack, starter, entree + green beans/potatoes/corn ribs and a dessert. Between 3 of us it was SO much food. Everything was good, but we loved the eggplant parm, French onion mushroom, fried green tomato, trout and hot fried chicken. I love garam masala, but for me it didn't really work in the risotto. This was such a fun night out and it's a gem in the area. A great place to come as your dinner destination in Sullivan county!

Gab G.

Yelp
Great brunch! My pancakes were absolutely perfect and the other dishes I tried (duck breast with sunny side up egg, eggs Benedict) were all excellent. My only suggestion would be to add a few side items/options, like a pastry or toast, as the menu was a little small. Otherwise no complaints! Service was great. Be sure to walk around and check out the beautiful grounds, plus the super cool bowling alley in the kitchen!

Yelp
Had an amazing weekend away here. Charming, quiet, otherworldly. Make sure you enjoy the fire pit by the creek. Staff were incredible friendly and helpful, great breakfast included.

Yelp
We stayed in the main house and loved the overall vibe of the place, it was cozy and warm. Plenty of places to sit and play cards or read. Staff was helpful with tips for things to do and even checked on a few restaurants for us to see if they were open. Because the inn is comprised of old homes be aware that you will be able to hear folks walking around and going up the stairs pretty clearly. This was especially true in the main house, if you are a light sleeper and go to bed early this is not the place for you. I would say it seems that this property has had less attention over the years, very very rustic and not spotless clean. There was often dust along surfaces and cobwebs in corners. If you are staying mid week in the winter be sure to not count on the bar /restaurant being open when it says it is as they seem to base hours on the amount of guests there. Also there is a Sonos speaker in the main house that seems to always be left on all night and you can hear it upstairs. We figured out how to silence it on the second night but it really should not be left on once the staff leaves for the evening. I found it slightly disconcerting that the staff fully leaves at night and it doesn't seem like the doors to the different houses get locked at all, which I guess it ok but we were the only guests staying on our first night and I just found myself a little creeped out that anyone could just walk in, obviously I could lock my room up but would think they should install some sort of system for locking at night. Maybe give the guests keys to the main house or something or install a code lock so they don't get locked out There was a restaurant pop up while we were there and the food was very very good. Our waiter was pretty slow, but I think he may have just been very busy. I did notice that the couple next to us was waiting 45min before he even took their order. But the vibe of the place is slow paced and easy going so I would not expect super speedy service in the first place. Overall, I am not sure I would stay here again, but I would definitely come back to the bar and restaurant if I was back in the area. I would recommend to friends and give them the same warnings I gave above.

Yelp
We had the perfect anniversary weekend at the North Branch Inn! We drove from NYC on a Friday afternoon (trip is about 2.5 hrs) and arrived in the evening to a cozy wood-burning stove with apple cider brewing on top. We stayed in the main house in a king room. I was a bit wary of the noise since we were above the restaurant but it wasn't an issue at all. Nina kindly left us a handwritten note welcoming us to the inn and congratulating us on our anniversary. Upon the hotel reservation, NBI provided a list of local activities and they did not lead us astray. We had a wonderful time touring Apple Pond Farm, visiting The Arnold and walking around in Callicoon. Almost better was hanging around AT the inn. Our room was very comfortable with a fantastic shower (+ Malin and Goetz products) and a great bed. The parlor too was incredibly cozy and we passed hours just reading by the fire and feeding the wood burning stove. Best yet was the on-site restaurant. I cannot recommend the included breakfast more. It featured locally-made breads and other freshly-baked pastries, farm-fresh eggs, and charcuterie. It's the best hotel breakfast I've ever had and possibly just one of the best breakfasts I've ever had, period. We also ate dinner there both nights, including the chef's course on Saturday night for our anniversary. The menu is seasonal and thus, limited, but every course was delicious. We did try to bowl during dinner but it turns out we're both pretty bad bowlers. I have to commend the incredible staff for this weekend from Nina to Tanya to Chef JP and every single person who went out of their way to make our stay memorable. We closed out the restaurant on Saturday night, just spending time with the staff and it was a true delight. We can't wait for our next visit to North Branch Inn or its sister properties!

Yelp
Nice weekend getaway. The grounds are lovely, extremely helpful staff and clean rooms. Having a restaurant in site is a bonus. Food is delicious and the restaurant has a great vibe.

Yelp
Stayed here back in April and I felt like the experience was just ok. Checking in was pretty confusing, the main entrance looked like the main entrance, but led into the restaurant. We were standing by the bar with our luggage with no front desk person. The restaurant directed us into the lodging part, and still there was no front desk person. We found our name and a set of keys on a table and showed ourselves to the room. The whole experience just felt very inhospitable. I thought I would have a lovely bed and breakfast experience, here, but the room was pretty run down, and you could hear just about everything that was happening. Yes I understand it's an old house, but it doesn't mean that things can't be upgraded, especially given the crazy room rates that they charge here (and a minimum of 2 nights stay). The next morning while out and about, I called and asked for recommendations for a hike in the area -- the person on the other end of the phone tried to give me a name for a place she used to hike at, but ultimately couldn't recall the name or where it was. She was apologetic for not being more helpful but ended up directing me to just look for hikes on the internet. The food here was the saving grace. We had dinner here once and were almost tempted to return for a second night for dinner. Our server, a lady whom I think had just started working there, was also helpful. Anyway, we probably won't be back, just due to the initial experience combined with the crazy price point. With the prices we were charged, we seriously could have gone for a weekend in the Bahamas, flight and hotel included. There's also not much going on in the surrounding towns and areas, at least not during that time.

Angela P.

Yelp
I had dinner here the other night. The service was great and the food had potential. I adore salty food but everything we had that night was so salty that it was almost inedible. I'm confused by the overly salted dishes bc the combinations and descriptions sound promising on the menu, but the flavor are overpowered by the salt. We've discussed this restaurant with several other locals and weekenders and we all come to the conclusion: too much salt & we are saddened by it bc we want to eat here! Please review your menu and recipes and back off the sodium. Also, this is coming from a southern foodie who salts her fruit, so I definitely love a salty dish!

Victoria R.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere is just wonderful. It's a five star dining experience. The chef is beyond accommodating to any dietary needs. Limited gourmet choices that wouldn't ever disappoint. I've yet to try brunch there but definitely looking forward to it. The staff is just amazing they take the time to help you decide what drinks or meal you maybe in the mood for. They know the menu and each detail it has on it. Karen was beyond helpful, kind, and friendly she gives you that family feel and makes me want to return time and time again. Take the trip it's a meal you will never forget.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I attended the guest chef Patrick Bones' New Years Eve dinner a couple of nights ago. Overall, the atmosphere is perfect for a cold winter night. We loved the fireplace and old-fashioned feel of this location. The fixed menu looked great, however we were disappointed in the quality of the food. Everything we were served was extremely salty. The first course was a salad and was borderline inedible because of how salty it was. My lobster tail was served on a bed of French's crispy fried onions and was very underwhelming. My boyfriend's prime rib was mushy and extremely salty. The best part of the meal was the slice of bread they give you at the beginning with a delicious lemon butter. For $99/person, this meal was disappointing to say the least. Cool bowling alley though.

Derek M.

Yelp
Andrew takes care of me every time I come in. Drinks on point and refreshing as always. JP in the kitchen is just something else, the man can cook anything to perfection and that's what keeps me coming back. Highly suggest anyone to go there and try anything they have, It's all good.

Karen S.

Yelp
Delicious food at Mexican night on Monday! We especially loved the nachos. We will definitely be returning for bbq night this weekend. Our kids loved the old-time bowling alley as well.

Ty C.

Yelp
I am so happy I stayed here. By far the absolute coolest Inn I have ever stayed in. The staff were extreme friendly and made me feel like I was home away from home. Andrew the bartender gets a 5 star review from me for sure as well. I will 1000% come back and stay again every time I come to this state.

Dan V.

Yelp
Prefixed menu was great - healthy delicious food. Service was good as well. Loved the freshly caught local trout, and the appetizers and sides were great too.

Jin K.

Yelp
We were able to book a last minute reservation and stayed in the main house with the 2 full beds. The room itself was pretty and the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was hilariously over sized with a huge shower, which would be nice if they replaced it with a claw foot tub. The bathroom has more than enough room to accommodate it. Since this is a B&B, staying in the main house can actually be quite loud. You can hear all the moving around in the main bar room/kitchen. The bowling alley, which is nice, is very loud as well. Additionally, you can smell the aroma from the downstairs fireplace. We didn't mind these as much but it is something to be aware of when staying in the main house. If you are looking for some more privacy and peace and quiet, I would suggest trying to book a room in the house across the street from the main house. The NYE celebration dinner was a fun time. They sat us all at common tables which helped facilitate conversation. The cocktails were the winner of the night. We had the 9 course tasting menu which had some solid courses such as the venison and the soup, but some confusing misses as well, ravioli on mashed potatoes and a tiny morsel that had a carrot wrapped around it. Overall, it was a very nice way to ring in the new year. The highlight of our stay had to be the service. From check in to the dinner to checkout, the hostess was very accommodating and friendly. The service alone has us thinking about another stay in the future.

Yelp
Words cannot express how special it is here. We walked in and were instantly transported into a magical place. The décor was beautiful and so tastefully done. Very clean with a vintage vibe. There were cookies waiting and hot apple cider on the fireplace to welcome us. Our key was on the counter with a welcome note. We took a quick (exciting) tour which revealed a lovely dining area and old fashion bowling alley. We proceeded upstairs to our room which was just perfect. Again, impeccably decorated, so many special touches. The beds were so comfortable and the bathroom clean and updated. I'm overwhelmed on how kind everyone is there. They are no nice and helpful. And the food, out of this world! I live in Manhattan so I am lucky to be surrounded by great restaurants. But here, the flavors popped and melted in my mouth. I will never forget this experience and cannot wait to visit again. Thank you North Branch Inn for such a great memory.

Yelp
We were planning on eating in the town we were staying in but after arriving, those places didn't look that interesting. Decided to give this place a try and am glad we did. It's full of charm and the food was really yummy. And the staff was warm and friendly.

David C.

Yelp
very disappointing. shocked to learn on arrival that the restaurant was closed. the entire experience at this place revolves around that as there are no restaurants worth your time for miles. i have been here multiple times before and the experience was good. but without the restaurant it is overpriced and not worth the high price tag. giant thumbs down.

Sophie A.

Yelp
We showed up - reservation in hand - only to watch them give away the table we wanted to the couple that came in after us.

Jeremy F.

Yelp
Less than two miles from our farm house on Schaefer Road and the best place to eat in North Branch, second only to the homestead.

Dylan T.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I stayed at the North Branch Inn during a very cold winter storm, but it was the perfect spot to spend two cozy winter nights. We arrived late due to the weather but Stacey, the innkeeper, was in touch with us to make sure we could still check into room when we came in. Our room was fantastic, with a clawfoot tub and a big king bed. There was even sherry and desserts waiting for us when we got in. Each of the inn's three buildings also have their own working fireplaces, which were perfect to sit by, tend to, and eventually fall asleep in front of at the end of the night. The food is amazing and was locally sourced, and the menu changes with the availability of produce and meat. Just for the two nights we stayed there Chef Erik had a slightly different menu each time. He cooks the best venison you'll ever eat. And we were able to watch him cook from our table or while we bowled at the 100 year-old bowling alley that runs near the kitchen. The biggest take away for us was the amount of thought that the staff at the North Branch puts into your stay. I travel a lot for work, and it is so rare that you find a place that actually seems to really care about who is staying with them and tailors your stay. We kept saying how the whole experience was a bit of trip back in time (it all kind of reminded me of a Hemingway novel) to when hotels/inns didn't just deliver to you a cookie-cutter experience, but were a central part of your visit to a place. We'll definitely be back.

Robert S.

Yelp
Wonderful place in all respects. We can't wait to try all of the owner's other places!

K. P.

Yelp
When The North Branch Inn first opened we quickly became regulars. We appreciated the simple, locally sourced menu, wonderful plating, great drinks, and attentive, friendly service. The venue is also charming and warm. However, both service and food have slid. As another reviewer mentioned, food has become VERY salty. Unfortunately this was the case for several meals we've recently had at The North Branch Inn. Mid-week service is also lacking. I would like to continue to support this local business but until things improve we're unlikely to return. I suspect the owners have turned their attention to other ventures.

Pickles Y.

Yelp
We had a celebratory dinner here with about a dozen friends - it was a wonderful evening. Sims the owner is a gracious host and fully conveys his vision and passion thru the North Branch Inn. Beautiful and warm ambiance, service was excellent and the 4 course dinner was sublime! Chapeau to the chef and staff for the most delicious duck breast and spatzle ever. Dinner from start to finish was amazing as was the overall experience.

patrick d.

Yelp
Our room was dirty and never cleaned. I was never greeted when we checked in. Lack of hospitality all around. We were served raw pork at a wedding. The chef claimed he roasted the pig for 12 hours. I witnessed him place it on the fire at 10:30am and attempt to serve it at 8, before hacking it up and trying to roast pieces over the fire. The breakfasts were extremely lacking. We couldn't find anyone to give us water, we had to get it ourselves from the tap behind the bar. The ham and smoked salmon which were thrown on a plate seemed to be of Costco variety at best. So much for farm to table.

Paula O.

Yelp
Had such a great experience dining here. We ordered the bread & fat, smoked trout spread, day boat scallops, fried halloumi, goat cheese & herb ravioli and peach upside-down cake. The food was plated beautifully and each dish had layers of flavor. The bartender/server was so attentive and nice. And, the kitchen is interactive so we got to hang out and chat w/ the chef while he prepared some of our dishes. Will definitely come back

Angelee S.

Yelp
This past winter I had one of the best protein dishes of my entire life at the North Branch Inn. It was a tenderloin of venison cooked so perfectly rare with a cornbread accompaniment and some other elevated food items that I can't remember because they were good but who cares because they weren't that damn VENISON. Oh my gosh, I'm still thinking about it. This is the only reason I would ever go out to the middle-of-nowhere North Branch. This is a great spot with a reputation that doesn't need help, but I would say it can be a place that transplants really frequent, so I encourage locals to go here, too. There's the old-fashioned bowling that hasn't gone anywhere but the restaurant is in reallly good hands. Go here! And please - owners- slide into the DMs when you're doing more venison. *winks*

Matteo T.

Yelp
Food is amazing, I can pinpoint the cat hegira but they have meats fish and pasta (not the key chain type of pasta, very sophisticated). This is more Farm to Table. Cat, our waitress was sooooo awesome, great energy and amazing service. Please stop by. We did tonight in our way to our lake house. Best idea we had in a while

Nancy P.

Yelp
My friend and I recently had dinner at The North Branch Inn. The guest chef, Patrick Bones, prepared meals called "Meat and Three" where you pick a meat with three sides. My meal was delicious! I had a country style fried chicken with gravy, collard greens, mac & cheese, and coleslaw. My friend was not as pleased. She ordered the beef brisket, but it was dry and tough! This restaurant is known for expensive meals and small portions. I thought the portions were good and $29 was reasonable. Drinks were pricey! $14 for a cocktail and $18 for a glass of wine. The atmosphere is very nice. The place is very clean and has a "back in time" vibe with authentic tin ceilings, simple wood bar, tables & chairs, and good lighting. The service was awful! Everything took too long and we had to waive down the waiter for every little thing. The drinks took forever to arrive. We had to ask for water. It took forever to take our order. It's not a large dining room. It should not have been that difficult! What got us though the evening was good friends and good conversation! If the chef and menu return, I'll order it as takeout, buy my own favorite bottle of wine, and still enjoy a good friend and good conversation.

Sarah K.

Yelp
This is an amazing hotel, bar and restaurant! The menu changes constantly, featuring locally grown food. Absolutely delicious!!

Kim A.

Yelp
We had a beautiful and clean room in the Library Building across the street. The buildings have a lot of charm and if it wasn't Covid-era we would have loved to use the bowling alley! Our meal that first night was ok and the staff was very attentive. Breakfast was perfect, contactless, many outdoor spaces to eat our bagged meal. Our only complaint was the second night at 3 in the morning a beeping noise started somewhere under our room and continued until 8 am when I spoke to the gentleman at the coffee bar. He came over immediately and found it was a water filter alarm in the basement. He left saying he "would see what he could do". I assumed maybe a free drink or a discount to our room... neither was done.

Lisa P.

Yelp
We discovered this restaurant and Inn about 2 years ago on yelp. This is the most incredible farm to table restaurant in the Catskills. The food is decadent and the drinks are amazing. The Bourbon bar is well stocked. It's fun to play the vintage, two lane bowling alley in the open kitchen area. We have since taken friends and family and never disappointed!

O. G.

Yelp
This was our second time having dinner at this lovely restaurant/inn. The restaurant section offers a warm & cozy atmosphere, excellent lighting, great bar and plenty of seating (and duck pin bowling if your interested). Our meal. We started with cocktails which were great, they offer some recommendations but a full bar (w local options too) pretty much allows you to order any drink. Now for the food. We ordered 4 appetizers, charcuterie board, fat spreads and venison crudo were great, good portions, tasty and presented well. The carrot salad was a little wimpy, but had good flavor, great presentation. For dinner we ordered 4 different plates. The venison dish was cooked to the right temperature but the flavor was overpowered by a heavy salt crust. The ravioli flavor was good but a little dry, could have used a sauce. Two of us ordered the seafood dish, this was by far the most disappointing part of the meal. The dish was particularly smelly, I realize it's fish but it did not smell fresh. The consistency of the shrimp & mussels was a bit rubbery. As far as temperature, the dish was served luke warm (not sure if this was the intention) and for some reason served with sashimi style fish (cold). Altogether just not an appetizing dish. We ordered two desserts and both were great, especially the caramelized pear & cream. Aperitifs were great. I really want to support our local restaurants but the execution on the main dishes needs some work (had a similar experience the first time, great apps, but not so great main dishes). If I had to rate on the appetizers and drinks alone would have given the place 4 or 5 stars.

Alan N.

Yelp
I have to say, my hopes were high! The place got good reviews and was very charming visually. The service was pretty good. We stayed the weekend and have to say it was more of an Airbnb experience at outlandish prices! No room service to clean your room, which is fine but not for $300/night (2 night minimum). The walls are thin and the beautiful old wood floors are squeaky. The breakfast was serve yourself like a BnB, but was basically meats, cheese, and muffins pre-packaged. As for the restaurant, again visually very charming! Cool old bowling lanes. However, the meal fell flat. We ordered the steak which was cooked med-rare but it was still chewy. The smoked trout appetizer was very good, but not too hard to mess up smoked fish. The portions were very small for the price and the food was luke warm and overly salted. The ravioli was very dry. The open kitchen is cool and the chef made his rounds which I thought was a nice touch. Although we we asked him a question he was very arrogant and had a typical hipster attitude. Big fish, small pond I guess. Needless to say, I think they're recent write ups have inflated their egos and honestly its not worth it. If you want to get ripped off and have some hipster attitude might as well just go to Brooklyn.

Yelp
Perfect weekend getaway! A+++ Recently spent the weekend in the catskills to celebrate an anniversary and decided to stay at the North Branch Inn. This warm, inviting Inn quickly became not just a place to stay but a highlight of our trip. The staff (Stacey in particular), went way above and beyond what was needed to make our stay special. I can't say enough good things, from the room, amenities, common areas/grounds, breakfast...everything was top notch. In addition, the antique bowling alley is a blast and the bar serving local beers/ciders was a real treat. Unfortunately our schedule didn't allow us to have dinner there but all of the guests raved about their meals. We will certainly be staying at the North Branch Inn again and next time staying for dinner!

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about the North Branch Inn, or the Foster Supply Hospitality Group, in general. This is now our second stay with them, but our first at the North Branch Inn, and both experiences were truly magical. When we arrived we were greeted and escorted across the street to our room in the Library. Being the weekend after Thanksgiving it was rather slow, so they upgraded our room for free and we had the entire place to ourselves for the first night! Everything about this place screams comfort and home-away-from-home. It's like going to a family mountain house, but with a staff to help make sure all of your needs are met. The decor, wood-burning stove, claw foot soaking tub, and complimentary sherry and freshly baked cookies are just some of the touches that make this place magical; but the people and service are what make it memorable. Nina and Sahiba were absolutely delightful, helping us with ideas of places to visit during the day and ensuring we had all that we needed during our stay. Tanya, our server during Friday's dinner, was a blast! We laughed so much, I had wished she could pull up a chair and sit with us! And last, but certainly not least, there was Chef JP. The food was absolutely out of this world, from dinner to brunch, each bite was refined, yet rustic and you could taste the passion and care he (and his staff) put into each dish. After our dinner, we were lucky enough to have him join us at our table for a nightcap and great conversation about his journey to becoming the head chef at North Branch, his philosophy about food and the science/biology of it all, and of course, his dog Phoebe. If you are looking for a quaint getaway in the Catskills, filled with charm, special touches and top notch people, this is the place for you!

Yelp
This place is incredible. My wife and I just got married here, and it was everything we could have asked for. The food was incredible. Some of the best meals I've had anywhere. The Inn and grounds were beautiful. The staff was amazing. Everyone was so helpful and kept us relaxed and happy. There is nothing I would change. It's one of the few places that really feels like home.

Yelp
Four of us recently had dinner here on the weekend. The menu is limited which we assumed probably meant everything was delicious. We started with incredible cocktails which were just that incredible but seriously the cocktail stemware are ridiculously small for $15. Very disappointing. One of my friends had the osso bucco that night which had flavor but basically just pieces of fat with minor amounts of beef. Disappointing. The other dishes were well proportioned and excellent. As other diners and guests have noted the decor is great and the dining rooms lovely. But pricing all menu items like they are in the City isn't going to sustain that dining room in the middle of the Catskills. Most of our party where from Williamsburg; we get rich pricing but with that comes delicious food, fantastic service and generous drinks. Second visit here; probably in no hurry to come back again. Which is disappointing given I love the concept entirely. The food generally is good.

Yelp
We had a great stay here. The hosts are friendly, offering plenty of advice on things to do in the area. The food at the in-house restaurant is delicious. Bowling at your hotel is tons of fun. The rooms are well-appointed and comfortable. No TV in our room, which was probably for the best. There's only a few things keeping me from giving the hotel 5 stars: -The walls and floors are thin. The restaurant is directly downstairs from the rooms and is open til 10, followed by clean up. If you are a light sleeper and like to go to bed early, this may not be the best place. -On our last night, our room was invaded by large moths, possibly coming through the AC unit. We smacked a few dozen before giving up and trying to sleep. I realize there may not be much the hotel can do about this, but it's worth mentioning. You should stay here - you'll have a great time!

Yelp
This place is such a quaint, amazing find. It's a little drive up north from Callicoon, but so worth it, the decor is farmhouse and the food is EXCELLENT. We've been here a few times and it surpasses our expectations each time. The staff is also so friendly!

Yelp
Can't recommend The North Branch Inn enough! From the amazing accommodations to delicious breakfast and great conversations, this place has it all.

Yelp
Awesome place. We stayed at the sister property and had drinks there one of the 2 nights up in the area. The place is adorable inside with a still working, amazing preserved bowling alley from the 1800s! Great drinks, service and while the food looked good, we only shared the cheese board which was fab. Hubbys's Sazarac was delish as was my cab franc.

Yelp
Stayed here in July to celebrate our engagement. Such a cute and unique B&B. There are plenty of activities a short driving distance away for a weekend trip. The restaurant was absolutely amazing! Best fish I've ever had

Yelp
This place is a gem and I'm so happy we discovered it. We are fairly frequent weekend visitors to the area from NYC and are so happy to have another great restaurant option. This past June we went for dinner one evening and then weekend brunch on another day and we had such a wonderful time and of course our kids enjoyed running around the bowling lanes and bowling. The food was really delicious with great presentation and my husband, who is a chef, was really impressed. The decor is really relaxing and fun and I can't wait to come in the winter time as well.

Yelp
Don't know exactly how many stars to give the restaurant. Menu is quite limited. Everyone at our table agreed the food was very well prepared and of high quality. Service was attentive and intelligent. But it's sparse. Nothing on the table to begin--no bread, nothing to get us interested. The mains consisted of the meat and practically nothing else. A tablespoon or so of some vegetable mélange that added nothing. Not a grain of rice or a piece of potato. We did not feel fed but rather given a sample of the chef's creativeness. More a tease than a meal. A main and a glass of wine and you're over $100 a couple with tip. If you want a starter and coffee or dessert, you'd be over $150. With so much interesting food around the area today that costs less and leaves you feeling as if you've really eaten a meal. So three stars -four plus for the food, two for value.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful. Charming rooms (only missing some beautiful art), great soaking tub and fantastic showers with high quality Malin and Goetz products. Lovely, serene backyard with a babbling brook and plenty of room. Pet friendly, excellent service, and the food is the real star of the show! Everything was simply exceptional; the cocktails beat out many cocktail bars in NYC, the price of the four course meal is unreal, overall, just really fantastic. POC & Queer people- this is a bipartisan community with plenty of visible Trump supporters. We didn't experience any unsavory behavior, save the man who ripped a Biden yard sign out of the ground at a restaurant we lunched at in Callicoon, which was promptly replaced by a lunching woman. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and lovely. This was an absolutely perfect place to celebrate our first anniversary. Thank you North Branch Inn!
