I stayed here for one night in August of 2023 after backpacking in the North Fork area of Glacier National Park. I slept in the bunk bed room. I was the only person there on a Friday night. Oliver is the best. I enjoyed my stay. It's within walking distance of the mercantile and saloon. John (from Cincinnati)

Now, I stayed in this hostel in the late 90s. It was fantastic, the highlight of my trip. My new German and French hitchhiker friends guided me to this rustic, wonderful, place. I'm glad its still there.

A true gem. One of the highlights of the Great Divide ride was spending a long evening chatting with Oliver about life in Polebridge and in general. A trip highlight.

Oliver is fantastic! The hostel is extremely clean and has everything you need. The hostel is right down the road from the store. You can stay inside the hostel, in a cabin out back, or in a teepee. There is a cat that lives in the hostel who is quite the host! When we arrived Oliver was still at work, but the door was still unlocked. We were able to walk around and decide if we wanted to stay. The room we stayed in was upstairs in the hostel. It was very clean. The shower was also very clean. You do not need to bring your own sheets/towels. This is also a very cheap way to stay in Glacier! The hostel is close to some beautiful lakes. I stayed in June 2015.

I camped in front of the North Fork Hostel while with a group from Adventure Cycling and had a wonderful time. There's something about this place that is magical. Oliver, who runs this hostel, is one of those rare human beings that you immediately know upon meeting is a gem of a person. I will definitely go out of my way to stay here again.

The North Fork Hostel is in such a charming, off-beat area. We went for one night and really only slept at the hostel as we arrived at dinner time (loved the nearby Northern Lights Saloon!) and left after breakfast from the nearby Mercantile. Oliver was helpful and lent us headlamps to use after dark, since there is no electricity and we had not thought to bring flashlights. Linens are not provided, but can be rented for a $5 fee. A fun, funky place for sure. If you go to Glacier, make the effort to make one of your nights here!

We loved our stay at North Fork Hostel. Oliver is the host and he runs a tight ship. We stayed in Klondike Kate's cabin and the Goat Chalet - both great. We had the use of kitchen and bathroom (long drop toilet outside). It is everything you can expect from a rustic, off-the-grid hostel/camp ground - it's not the place for you if you don't like camping or having to get a little wet, or dirty hands or don't like the dark!

Yelp
One of the best weekends of my life! I still dream of quiting my job and just living from Hostel to Hostel all along the west coast then Polebridge for the summer. If you want rustic, off the grid, no electricity in the entire town, outhouse experience this is the place! Solar is power is available to charge batteries access WiFi for those that just can't live without. I would say if you want the experience leave the phone and laptop at home. Land-line available for emergency. North Fork Valley is just west of Glacier National Park (some of our best hiking) and just south of Canada. The stars have never shown so bright! We stayed in the The Green Zucchini A homemade trailer from the '50s! Love the rustic setting, beautiful mountains and trees. So quiet you think pine needles dropping to the ground is loud. Would love to go back.
