This place was an unexpected gem that we stayed at during a 2.5 day ride out of Whitefish. The owner, Oliver, is welcoming and kind. We had no reservations, yet he welcomed our three person group anyway. Two of us camped in the yard and the other, whose tent was broken, stayed in a dorm. The kitchen was lovely. I really enjoyed meeting outdoor enthusiasts from all walks of life: PNT thru-hikers, rafters, and cyclists from all over. I would definitely go out of my way to stay here again!

I stayed at North Fork Hostel for three nights total. No matter what you pick, the lodging will be clean, comfortable, and extremely charming (the property makes for great birdwatching). Oliver is a fantastic host and an absolute joy to talk to, and getting to know the other guests was a highlight of my trip. This is going to be one of your best options for staying in Polebridge and I will definitely be back. And don't be worried about the outhouses! They're the cleanest I've ever encountered and you won't need to deal with the line at Polebridge merchantile's bathrooms.

When I head up to the North Fork and want to spend the night after a day hike, I pitch a tent at the Hostel for comfort, convenience, and cost. I always look forward to catching up with Oliver, one of the kindest hosts you’ll ever meet.

I stayed here for one night in August of 2023 after backpacking in the North Fork area of Glacier National Park. I slept in the bunk bed room. I was the only person there on a Friday night. Oliver is the best. I enjoyed my stay. It's within walking distance of the mercantile and saloon. John (from Cincinnati)

Now, I stayed in this hostel in the late 90s. It was fantastic, the highlight of my trip. My new German and French hitchhiker friends guided me to this rustic, wonderful, place. I'm glad its still there.

Incredible hospitality at a hostel. Can’t wait to find my way back. We camped on the property so I can’t say anything about the rooms.

I camped in front of the North Fork Hostel while with a group from Adventure Cycling and had a wonderful time. There's something about this place that is magical. Oliver, who runs this hostel, is one of those rare human beings that you immediately know upon meeting is a gem of a person. I will definitely go out of my way to stay here again.

Yelp
One of the best weekends of my life! I still dream of quiting my job and just living from Hostel to Hostel all along the west coast then Polebridge for the summer. If you want rustic, off the grid, no electricity in the entire town, outhouse experience this is the place! Solar is power is available to charge batteries access WiFi for those that just can't live without. I would say if you want the experience leave the phone and laptop at home. Land-line available for emergency. North Fork Valley is just west of Glacier National Park (some of our best hiking) and just south of Canada. The stars have never shown so bright! We stayed in the The Green Zucchini A homemade trailer from the '50s! Love the rustic setting, beautiful mountains and trees. So quiet you think pine needles dropping to the ground is loud. Would love to go back.
