Nice quiet little café. Not too busy. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Food was out quick and fresh. Very large portions, so if you have kids that might not eat a lot, order one or the combos with multiple items and share it to save a little and waste less. We had breakfast.

If you’re looking for a hip, modern environment rather than a traditional American setting, this is the place to be. I had the pancakes, which were too bready for my taste and a bit dry - too bulky to resemble a classic pancake recipe. The staff was very friendly and polite.

Google
5 stars all around for this quaint establishment. We were lured here by the chai teas and mochas…best in town. But we keep coming back for the breakfast. Fresh clean ingredients and perfect portions, never too much or too little. I always get the juevos rancheros but they have many high protein with veggie options. Also great vibe of a coffee shop with delicious in-house baked muffins and rolls. There’s usually a short wait for breakfast. Super friendly staff. We will keep returning!

Got the vegan huevos rancheros and it’s one of the best vegan breakfasts I’ve had! Staff is super kind and friendly. The latte was also amazing. Great spot.

Went to Nova Cafe for the first time since new ownership and I am less than impressed. Arrived to no wait and overall not very busy. After being sat, we did not receive service for 15 minutes meanwhile servers, hostess and baristas were in and out of our section. The first interaction by our server was her asking if we had been helped yet, when we replied no, she blatantly told us we had been forgotten about. She was quick to take our order and never checked back in. Another party that had been sat after us was helped immediately and by multiple employees. We waited 25 minutes for our food to come out, just for theirs to arrive at the same time. After receiving our food, no one asked how we were doing or how the food was. Tables around us were left un-bussed well after party’s had left and the buss bin we were sat next was never emptied. Employees were sitting at tables, on phone and talking to one another. Overall experience was revolting, employees were very unprofessional both on appearance and attitude. There are much better places to support around Bozeman.

The place was nice. I was recommended by my boyfriend. He was a MSU alumni. The food was good. The pancake was huge. The service was superb!

Google
The coffee was good, food was average, and despite only 1 server, the service was consistent. I ordered the turkey hash bowl and while the presentation was nice, it had too much basil that overpowered the entire dish and made it really hard to determine if there was any turkey at all. Nova Cafe is middle of the road as there are other food options in downtown Bozeman. $40 for 2.

Google
Another great find! I thought it was just a normal café with eggs and bacon, but you would be surprised when you eat here. Very delicious 🤤

Yelp
Loved it! Cool breakfast spot right on Main Street in DTN BZN. The menu is quite eclectic. The house made granola is wonderful. You can order it with a multitude of options - yogurt, fruit, etc. We also ordered the Forbidden Hash Bowl. It is a mix of forbidden black rice, sweet potato, roasted red pepper, home fries, baby kale, and sesame seeds. Comes with eggs as well. I was really surprised with how much I liked it! The ambiance is quirky and artsy. The service is very good - fast and attentive. When in Bozeman, worth a stop. N*joy!

Yelp
Popped in to have brunch. It wasn't too busy but wait was 20-25 minutes. I don't think it took that long to be seated. We ordered a meat lover scramble and the two eggs with toast and potatoes with an extra side of bacon and a cinnamon roll. Our server was nice. It's a nice vibe in here, colors are pretty, and I love the music and photos on the wall. The cinnamon roll was served quick, piping hot with a cinnamon sprinkled glaze on top. It smelled divine and the hubby says it was amazing. I finally took a few bites and it was heavenly!! I feel like I taste some form of citrus or apple in it but it is light and the sauce is not heavy... THIS IS A MUST TRY WHEN VISIT! Our food was really good. The potatoes were seasoned and the bacon was really good.

Yelp
Here is an excellent place to have a great mornings start. Nova Cafe has a good selection of food - and not your everyday experience. There are choices for everyone - Meat Lovers, Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten. I can't forget to mention, really really good coffee. Nearly every visit to Bozeman I try to visit Nova because of there good food! This trip I ordered the meat lovers omelette and was full half way thru. I advise going with an appetite as you won't go away on empty! The service seems to always be slower than it should be. As an example, my coffee was topped off one time and only after I flagged down my server and asked. Our tables water refills went the same way. That said, the service staff today seem to be preoccupied and more aloof than normal. The inside of the restaurants walls are decorated with art from various artists. Each of them had QR codes so that you had a source to purchase if so inclined. Overall the restaurant is always clean and well kept.

Yelp
If you're not predominately the dominant ethnic group good luck getting good service. Definitely felt the racism as my server Alex had not checked on me but asked if I wanted to d to pay 10 mins into my meal and a dude brought my food out and said you must be hungry. Food is mid not like used to be. So if your colored expect some bad service.

Yelp
We came here because it was rated Bozeman best breakfast. The inside is older with two sides. I love that one side is a full serve coffee bar. However, the pumpkin spiced latte I ordered was NOT good. There was absolutely no flavor and it tasted like steamed almond milk with a dash of coffee that was burnt. I had to add three packets of sweetener to get a glimpse of a taste. My friend ordered a peppermint mocha which was delicious so I think the barista just was not familiar with pumpkin spice. The other half is the restaurant side with older tables and chairs and a few 70's style booths. The menus are old and faded, some barely readable. They have specials but the pumpkin bread French toast that sounded delicious was sold out so I was unable to order that. Instead, I ordered the biscuits and gravy. I am not sure if it was the biscuits or the gravy but one was WAY TOO SALTY. It was almost inedible it was so salty. I barely finished one. I liked their home fries that were seasoned and really crispy. The bacon was also really good but way too salty. I ordered my eggs over medium and they came over easy. The white was basically uncooked. My friend had the heuros rancheros and the entire thing was basically bell peppers and jalapeños she had to pick the excess off and it filled half the plate. Overall, very disappointing for the hype.

Yelp
Found this gem downtown walking around and I'm glad we stopped in for brunch. So cute and the staff very friendly. The food was flavorful and the service was prompt. I like the artwork on the walls. The bathroom could be cleaner but maybe just a busy morning. I would deff come back again and the Forbidden Bowl was perfect. The Matcha Tea was delicious!!

Yelp
An awesome place for breakfast with a large seating area. Everything my group ordered we enjoyed and half of us had leftovers for the next morning. The cowboy hash was huge and even though it has spicy sausage, it wasn't overly spicy. We also grabbed a scone to go for a member who couldn't join us - also huge! Also recommend getting their focaccia as your bread option, something fun and different you can't find other places. Definitely recommend stopping in if you're down on Main Street for breakfast.

Yelp
Really awful experience. I found a hair in my food and upon letting my waitress know, she was very short and cold about it. I was fine getting a fresh plate minus the hair this time. I ate my scramble that I got and it was delicious food and if my experience with the hair didn't happen out of come back to this restaurant. I finished my food, the waitress gave me my check told me that she could only give me 25% off of my check, I looked at the check for a second in disbelief because she made me feel like I was an inconvenience to her when I was a customer coming in to get food that I've been waiting for. I told her I would like to speak to the manager and She let me know that he was not in today. She said, but the chef is here and he came over to talk to me and gave me 50% off my food. Whether she was told to only take 25% off my check from the chef, that's fine. I would've spoken to him anyways and told him I would do 50 and not have an issue. But she Down my check and walked away like she just gave me such a break and when I told her it should be 50% off, she said well you eat the meal, no shit! I ate my meal like I was supposed to the whole reason I came into your establishment as a customer. The major inconvenience of getting a freaking hair in my food.... She was short, rude and cold. Blonde waitress

Yelp
I had the cowboy hash. It was not fresh, seemed like it was cooked yesterday and sat in a fridge overnight. The potatoes were dry and a bit hard, like mummified. My eggs were overcooked, the toast was fine but the jam on the table looked nasty and was glued to the surface. My cappuccino had an awful taste.. like chemicals or something never had one like this. The staff was nice and friendly. Shame the food was gross and not worth the $.

Yelp
Delicious little café right on Main Street. There are tables both inside and outside if you want a sit down meal or around on the other side you can grab your food/coffee to go. I love that they had a separate vegan menu, definitely try the tacos with mushroom "bacon". They were delicious and also extremely filling. The workers were so nice and gave recommendations both about what to order and also about what stores to go to on Main Street for souvenirs. They had all kinds of dairy free milk: soy, almond, coconut, and oat. Highly recommend !

Yelp
I had breakfast at the Nova Cafe this morning. The Nova Scotch eggs were outstanding! The scrambled eggs with salmon and other flavors were perfectly done - not dried out nor wet. The addition of loose potato's, seasoned just right was a delightful addition. Add the bottomless coffee and it was a perfect breakfast. My server gave just the right amount of attention without being anoying. I liked the quaint old sown street front location. I would definitely make a return visit the next time I am in Bozeman.

Yelp
Was a Bozeman staple now it's pretty bad. I'm not sure what happened but the food is garbage. Too bad it was a great place. Service was good, that was about it.

Yelp
Loved the food here. They truly have killer breakfast. I had mushroom bacon and egg tacos and it was deliciousss: Lots of avocados and the scrambled egg was cooked to perfection. The staff are nice and very attentive. The interior design is so fun and colorful. It's a great place to start your day. Will come back for sure :)

Yelp
HANDS DOWN Best service, Best menu, Best DT Bozeman brunch spot!! Importantly: Quick to get my coffee, and thrilled with the adorable art / general great vibe. Everyone was very sweet and accommodating of my (dairy) allergy. The Huevos Rancheros were delicious and came out super fast, and my coffee cup stayed full. I love that you can hear yourself/your table-mates speak at Nova, even when the place is full. Highly recommend their coffee/pastry bar as well, if you're in a hurry or want a lil' something sweet. Definitely coming back every time I'm in Boze!

Yelp
Very cool little breakfast spot with a fun retro vibe! Awesome music and disco lights with old booths to sit at. The food was wicked good and served quickly. Bit pricy as it cost $2.95 to add avocado to the burrito. My only complaint was that it could have been a little cleaner. Our booth had a weird odor almost reminiscent of vomit which was unpleasant. Bathrooms could have used some attention as well. Overall though the food was great as was the quick service so I would still come back!

Yelp
We walked in to join the waitlist, they said they would text us. We walked around town for 40 minutes and went back to the restaurant to wait the last few minutes and they told us they could not accommodate our group. No message or information as we were waiting. Then proceeded to tell us they never wrote down our name.
google avatar

Yelp
After shifting owners we continue to give this spot a try and they drop the ball. Today they were training kitchen staff, which equates to eggs served over hard that should have been over medium. An extra egg that was missed on the order coming out after we are done eating. Also the menu lists kale in their special, it came out with none, and instead of fixing it the server said that kale is just a garnish. Two tries in two weeks we won't be coming back. After eating here for so many years it is sad to see them failing.

Yelp
Worth the Wait!! Came on a Sunday waiting for our flights back home. Salted caramel pretzel unique with crushed pretzels on top. I got the switch 1/2 & 1/2 egg Benedict - Salmon Cake & Fried Green tomato so good! Love the Change up of no bread. Really hit the spot. definitely recommend!

Yelp
I was in the mood for something hearty and quick after traveling from the East Coast. Nova Cafe popped up highly recommended on Yelp so I jumped in the car and headed to downtown. It's only about 15 minutes (or less if you're not memorized by the views, like me!) from the airport and there was plenty of 2-hour parking available on the street. I got there around 1:20pm and they close up at 2pm, so I made sure to be quick about my choices so that the staff could still close up on time. All in all, it's a great place. Good vibe and a friendly staff. The counter girls were a little disappointed that it had been a slow day and were talking loudly about the money they weren't making. It's always a tough conversation to overhear, but at the end of the day, I know times are tough, so I made sure to tip heavy. Still, it was a little awkward. The food is awesome. I took the waitress' recommendation and had the Huevos Rancheros and added chorizo. It was a huge portion, but with a perfect over medium egg. LOVED the fresh jalapeno. Seriously, it was a ton of food. You could easily split that with 2 people. The chai was comforting and I was happy to hear that they carried every single kind of milk alternative. (Oat is my favorite.) All in all I have to say, it's GOOD but it's basic and a little pricy (I was about $30 for my 2 items plus tip). Sounds like they do some fun specials daily which would be worth a try. Bozeman has a ton to offer (so it seems) so I will say that I'd recommend this place, but didn't feel like it packed enough for a second visit.

Madison W.

Yelp
Slow service, long wait, food not cooked all the way and sloppy thrown together. If you are looking for an enjoyable breakfast served in a reasonable about of time, do not waste your time going to Nova Cafe.

B B.

Yelp
We came here on Labor day at 11:30 am. We had to park a couple blocks away and it was raining. Website says they close at 2. We didn't get a chance to eat here. We were told they weren't taking any more names for the wait list. There appeared to be only a few people waiting for a table. So wtf??!!! No explanation, no sign they were closing early, no message on their phone (we checked). Very inconsiderate.
google avatar

Yelp
A fun and vibrant spot with inspired breakfast plates! There are two sides of the restaurant. On one, you can be seated at a table for dine in or you can visit the other side to grab coffee and something quick to go. We dined in and I really enjoyed the tom avo Benedict. The tomato and avocado were fresh and wonderful. The egg was poached perfectly! The yolk oozed over the sides just as you'd want it to. The plate was hearty with a side of potatoes. I was stuffed nice and full afterwards. The servers were awesome and made sure we had everything that we needed. Fast and friendly service. Would definitely stop back anytime.

Yelp
Their waffles are the best I have ever eaten. Seems that the place is not as busy as it used to be. I was there twice in April and it was not busy at all. Maybe the tourist season has not yet materialized. Food and service is always good.
google avatar

Nay L.

Yelp
The food here is soooooo good!!!! We ordered 4 plates among the 3 of us just to taste the strawberry cream cheese French toast and man, was it so worth the waddling out the door! The coffees were well made and delicious, the service was kind, though I am giving four stars as simple things were missing such as we had our food and no silverware, and after our food was delivered we never saw our server again leaving us to find our own silverware and then grabbing a coffee pot from the server station to refresh our own. No biggie, just a note. The food was worth going back again though for sure!

Yelp
Huevos rancheros, cowboy hash, mom's breakfast burrito, & cinnamon roll were a good way to start a brisk Sunday Montana morning.

Yelp
Love that we can always get a fresh and delicious meal with locally sourced ingredients

Yelp
So sad love this place walked in before one and they said sorry we are closing today at 1pm!!! The sign on the door said 2pm!!' Not cool..

Yelp
One of my favorite places for breakfast. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed yet vibrant. Their coffee is also awesome. It's such a great place to take visitors, meet friends, or just enjoy a casual dining experience on your own. Such a great place often has a wait for seating during peak times, and Nova is no exception. Definitely worth the wait, though! Yum!

Lisa V.

Yelp
This place lives up to its name No Va or No Go. Called at 10 about call-ahead waitlist and were told they weren't doing call ahead waitlist, so went in person to put our name in to see that they actually were taking call aheads. Hostess threw trainees under the bus saying they were mistaken when they told us that. Despite the mistake still put us at end of line with 1 hour 15 minute wait. We sat looking at the hostess for 1 hour 30 minutes when they were finally able to seat us with the caveat that it would be at least another hour to get food. Adding insult to injury we noticed they got rid of Eggs Benedict on their menu which was the only reason we chose them over other places we should have chosen. Needless to say, we didn't stay and will never go back.

Yelp
This breakfast was so yummy and the coffee is delicious too! The waitress was awesome and the atmosphere was welcoming highly recommend coming here.

Yelp
A mixologist we met in Cody, WY, told us to check out Nova when we got to Bozeman. It's bigger than it looks from the outside. Inside it's also colorful and showcases very colorful work of a local artist. We were hoping for lunch but were advised when we came in and before sitting down that lunch items weren't available, nor were pancakes and waffles. We were hungry and figured we'd find something on the menu anyway, though if you aren't fond of eggs, the selection would have been limited. Hubs ordered a meat lovers omelet that he ate every bite of. I had scrambled egg sandwich which I enjoyed. Samatha our server was friendly and was prompt with beverage service and checking on our meals. While the menu was overly limited the day we in town, everything was flavorful. It is easy to under how they have gotten awards for so many years.

Nina T.

Yelp
I just got done eating breakfast at Nova restaurant in Bozeman Montana the food was cold the coffee was stale and I didn't find out till the end of my meal that their system was down and I had to pay cash which they should have let me know before I even ordered my food the service was subpar if I suggest anybody not to eat at this restaurant unless they want a cold subpar meal with bad service.
google avatar

Duane M.

Yelp
Haven't been there in a while. But the last time was really disappointing. Go to the Western Cafe across the street
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
I like the almost diner style feel to the place. I ordered the bison chorizo omelette - and oh my, what a treat it was! Bison seems to be the favored meat around the MT state, and for good reason! It had a lot of flavor, and the sour cream help evened it out if you ended up with too many spicy bites in a row (guilty!) Gluten free toast is only a .25 cent up charge!! That is amazing and I hope they don't change that. The butter goes on and makes it some of the best gluten free bread I've ever had. I'm definitely a fan & would go back. Plate = looked like it just went through the dishwasher.

Veronica B.

Yelp
Stopped here for brunch and tried their salmon cake Benedict. Instead of an English muffin the poached eggs came on a seared smoked salmon which laid on a bed of baby kale. Genius idea and very tasty.

Yelp
Loved it! We ate at the Nova Cafe this morning for the first time and it was fantastic. I had my service dog with me and the staff was completely chill with her presence. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Absolutely charming little cafe on the main drag in Bozeman. Bright colors, great art, and spectacular staff. The coffee was fantastic. I got the cappuccino and my boyfriend got the regular coffee and both were great. We both had the Mom's Breakfast Burrito to eat. They tasted amazing and the portion size was absolutely perfect. An important side note for this place, as a gay couple, yes even in 2021, we have to be at least a little careful where we choose to be open about who we are. I had read reviews of some other places in Montana, while looking for a place to stop for lunch, and there were several that would not have been safe spaces for us. I can say, with confidence, that this cafe is absolutely a safe space for LGBTQ+ folx and that made a significant difference for us. We were both delighted with our experience here and I would highly recommend this as a stop for anyone wandering through Bozeman.

Jennifer R.

Yelp
EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS! I had the bison burrito and it was the tastiest breakfast burrito! My husband had the biscuits and gravy and we both thought they were the best we had ever had. I also had a blended taro tea and it was superb! Service is great and very friendly!
google avatar

Yelp
I came to Nova Cafe after reading about it in a blog. I was heading to the Bozeman airport and wanted to stop for breakfast. I ordered the Migas with avocado and an almond milk latte. The food took a long time to get to me and was good but not mind blowing. The coffee was just ok. For $20 it was just a mediocre breakfast. I would be hesitant to come here again.

Stephanie T.

Yelp
Excellent friendly service, great food, and large portions. Clean and brightly colored. Would highly recommend their breakfast

Yelp
Every town with a significant number of REI-shopping white people has a place like this: - the waits are long - the brunch is good - it's beloved by locals and tourists alike - it strives for maximum local-ness - great interior art/charm This is Bozeman's such place. Yes, the waits are long and yes, the waits are worth it. I'd venture to guess you could nearly eliminate the wait here if you arrived before 9 am. The menu is fresh and inventive. Just the right proportions of "diner" and "localvore". You'll definitely find something here that you can't get in your home town, I promise. Protip: you can head over to the Eagle's Lodge (FOE!) right next door while you wait and treat yourself to some great, cheap booze and local flavor! I just solved the #1 problem with Nova!
google avatar

T. H.

Yelp
They use an impressive amount of local ingredients. The menu is very extensive and most items are very tasty. My main criticisms are that the wraps are stuffed with too many fillers (lettuce, in particular) and the ratio can be way off. Also, they use a bit too much goat cheese on their menu.
google avatar

Kimberly L.

Yelp
Awesome food and very clean. These people know their business and do it well!! Well played Nova. Well played!
google avatar

Isaiah P.

Yelp
Second time to be back. Really good food, Not too fancy just some good cooking nestled on main street Bozeman
google avatar

Shannon L.

Yelp
Bomb breakfast food and selection! Lots of different coffee drinks, pasteurized, baked goods and a full menu! Came on a Monday so there was no line and we sat down immediately. Creme brûlée latte was delicious

Raeann N.

Yelp
Used to be one of my favorite breakfast spots in town. Not anymore. Menu is now different and I found the quality of food to not be at the standard it used to be. It was just ok. Should have taken a clue from the fact that it wasn't busy on a Saturday. I won't be back.
google avatar

S C.

Yelp
Breakfast potatoes were my Favorite. Kaety was an Excellent server. Friendly and efficient. And another lady in the to-go side was super helpful and friendly as well during a past visit. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Carly H.

Yelp
This place used to be my favorite breakfast place in Bozeman. There will always be a line out the door. The service was awesome and the food was great. Ever since it went under new ownership it is probably the worst breakfast I have ever had in my entire life. Service has seriously gone downhill. Was able to get in on a Saturday with no wait at all. Not a good sign
google avatar

Elizabeth L.

Yelp
This is simply a must stop whenever you are in Bozeman. We have been twice now and my grandson would like to move here so he can have their waffles everyday. The place is just super good and the people so friendly. Be careful with the self-serve coffee, it is good and drink a few cups and sleep will escape you. What can I say, I usually don't drink coffee, but this was so good and I thought the idea of self-serve was great so I over did it by a few cups. If you can get there early, before 9 am so you are not waiting too long. They do have a to go line, but take the time and eat there. They have the best breakfast items ever. If you want crab, they have that. If you are vegan, they have that. Everything is fresh and the produce is local. You will just love this place. I can't wait to go back next year.
google avatar

Yelp
They have a great brunch and breakfast, coffee is great, lots of local and healthy options. One of our favorite spots. Enjoy a cup of coffee while you wait for a table
