The Nunnery Accommodation

Fantastic location, easy check in after hours, extremely clean facilities (bathrooms and showers were spotless), comfy beds, outstanding staff. Our room faced the main road so it was a little noisy overnight with the tram passing but that's what you get when you're in the centre of the city! Really happy with our stay and will definitely be back if we need a place to crash in the city.

wouldn't recommend, for overall vibes. unless u like it 'rustic'. biggest problem are the showers!! it's either no hot water or burning hot. other residents are nice and facilities are clean. receptionist isn't particularly welcoming. i would avoid.

Shared rooms are cheap but a nightmare with piggy bunkmates. It's fairly cosy. Expect to travel up 2 flights of stairs depending on your room number. It's location is great. Hospital nearby if you need urgent medical attention. Showers get colder the higher you go.

Honestly the worst place I’ve ever stayed, even internationally. Checked in before a flight in the morning, the substance use was open on the premises. Place was flooded and unsafe when it rained. Checked out on the spot as I wasn’t staying under those conditions and they would not refund me. No responsibility taken and was told ‘it’s a hostel’ as the reasoning for this.

Was upgraded to a room of 4, no problems with the room and was supplied with a heater due to it being winter and an old building. Bathrooms were nice and clean so all in all I cannot complain. Did not use the kitchen / common area much so can’t comment on those.

Nothing else than good words about this hostel. Stayed a couple weeks and can’t wait to go back. Nice home feeling and a really unique setting for a hostel. Several common rooms. One inside with an apple tv free to use for a nice movie night with your new hostel friends. And heaps of charging points if you want to do some work. A nice outside area with a bbq and nice big beer garden tables. Small kitchen but got everything you need. And oh lord a hostel that got an oven. Such a plus. And they got everything: plates, cutlery and all utilities you would need. Heaps of bakery stuff too if you like baking like me. Sadly I had to deal with somebody that was making me feel uncomfortable in my dorm. The whole hostel is filled with signs that if something or somebody is making you feel uncomfortable that you can speak in discretion with some of their staff. They handled my situation so well. Props to staff & management for taking it very serious. They even checked on me 2 days after when I was passing reception if I was feeling alright again. Mate that’s class service. Can’t wait to go back here on my next melbourne trip. Highly recommend this hostel. Only recommendation I could give is getting some vending machines in the hostel for drinks and some light snacks.

It is the worst experience I have ever had in a hostel. When I arrived, no one greeted me, no one showed me the place, they just charged me and gave me my room card. Super unfriendly, rather annoying. The place was in super bad condition, there was a bad smell, the common areas were super unpleasant, at night there was a lot of noise. The bathrooms were always dirty... I paid for a shared room with 3 beds for women only, which was not cheap at all. And the first day I slept there I found a mouse in the room, which I saw every day, I asked for help several times, they did not give me any solution and they did not give me my money back so I could not leave. No one ever went to the room to help me or to look for the mouse and clean it. Their only answer was that in two weeks a person would come who was in charge of putting poison. Everything was bad, the attention, the rooms, the cleanliness, I have nothing good to say about this place.

Unfortunately my experience this time was not as good as my previous two stays, when I arrived no one at reception they were AWOL, had to hunt around to find them. Room was not clean and sheets were slept in. Nice running around in the common area "living room" which I have never seen before! Bathrooms are in a pretty bad state. Service was not the usual friendly service of stays gone by! Needs some investment and some team need training! A real shame as previously it was great and the location is perfect! Sorry Nunnery but unlikely I will stay again :(
