The Oberoi Beach Resort, Lombok

Our stay at The Oberoi Lombok was the perfect start to our honeymoon — an experience we will never forget. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with such warmth, and every single member of the team went above and beyond to make our time there feel personal, special, and truly unforgettable. The level of service was exceptional — the staff not only remembered our names, but also our honeymoon plans and preferences. Every detail was thought of before we even had to ask. The housekeeping team was phenomenal — not only was our villa always immaculate, but they surprised us with the most thoughtful gift: a beautiful teddy bear engraved with our initials. It was such a sweet and memorable touch. The food was another highlight. Every meal was a delight, from beautifully prepared local dishes to world-class international cuisine. The chefs are truly talented, and we looked forward to every bite — whether it was breakfast by the sea or romantic dinners under the stars. And then there’s the setting: the resort is tucked away on a pristine, peaceful beach with sweeping views and incredible sunsets. It feels like a hidden paradise — serene, luxurious, and full of natural beauty. We loved every second of our time there and felt completely relaxed, cared for, and utterly spoiled. We truly can’t recommend The Oberoi Lombok highly enough — it’s a rare gem, and we already can’t wait to return one day. Thank you to the entire team for making the beginning of our honeymoon so magical.

My husband and I decided to treat ourselves to a stay at the Oberoi to celebrate our anniversary. A beautiful resort with well-maintained immaculate grounds and incredible staff! This resort is a bit out of the way, and off the beaten path, but we loved the quiet and secluded vibe. The drive from the airport took about 2 hours. There are no close restaurants nearby, so you must dine at the Oberoi however, the food is fresh and delicious. There are a few worthwhile excursion options, but most are a distance away, and these required arranging a driver which we did through the Oberoi. We were glad we did venture off the grounds to see a bit of the countryside. We had a beach-view villa, and it was large and very well-appointed and immaculate. The beds, linens, pillows--excellent! Everything you need for a pampered week of vacation relaxation will be found here at this resort. Did I mention the AMAZING staff? The team here goes out of their way to get to know you and make you feel special and welcome at all times! We would highly recommend this resort!

The hotel is beautiful and the beach is stunning. The staff is stupendous and warm and kind. ||This vacation experience stayed with me for a Long time afterwards as I carried the beauty and warmth of the island and the resort. ||From the love shown to my children to the sense of belonging that flowed naturally from the staff, everything was perfect. ||Keeping the spa open a Tad late for us , creating special vegan French toast for breakfast, and the Boat Club staff taking me for an extra special private swim / snorkel. ||Beyond 5 stars. It's 7 stars.

Everything about this resort was fabulous. It is in a lovely location in beautiful established grounds. Our pool villa was absolutely gorgeous. Because it is secluded you are dependant upon the resort food which is usually a big negative for me but not here. The food was delicious with a great range available and changing live entertainment every night. But above all it was the staff and service that made it really special. Without exception everyone was great - charming, thoughtful, helpful but not intrusive. In addition the spa was great and I loved the yoga classes. We also chartered a resort boat to snorkel and visit the neighbouring Gillis - again fabulous. We will be back.

This hotel has all the calm, charm and character you could want from a luxury stay in a beautiful place. The staff are so warm and welcoming. They really do make the stay complete at every point possible. ||From our harbour pick up where we were met seamlessly and taken to a cool car - to being welcomed with fresh flower garlands - we were overwhelmed with the tranquil and calmness (even travelling here with young children) we were hit with. ||We had a beautiful garden villa which was spacious and thoughtfully set up. Birthday celebrations which the hotel were made aware of meant they made it extra special for our stay. ||Fresh fruit and sweet treats were available and the room was always cleaned and turned down to an impeccable level. ||The staff - I could talk about it all day. Nothing is too much trouble - your time is prioritised and they work hard to make sure you feel that. I often turned and the kids were off feeding the fish or playing with hermit crabs which the staff were encouraging with them. It was a real experience for the children and even with out a kids club (we don’t usually use them) this resort has a daily list of activities the kids can join in with should they wish to. These are mostly complimentary and include wood carving to horse riding!! Batik painting and feeding the fish. It felt like almost homeschool was ticked!

Pros:1. All villas are not beach front. They are ocean view only and on a cliff. 2. The beach is not good, rocky and not well cleaned.3. The view stretches as far as the eye can see is green spaces that bring a sense of inner peace.4. Staff is very very friendly and always smiling and promptly respond to any requests.5. Delicious breakfast on the best view.6. Swings allover the resort are very nice.7. Excellent privacy for the private pools.Cons:1. The resort is not respecting the Islamic nature of Lombok Island, as you can see Hindu statues are found everywhere even inside our villa!Additionally, they apologize to guests for sound of the call to prayer, as if it were a disturbance — even though the noise from their AC and insects around the villa disrupted my sleep.2. We were in a 2 bedroom villa, AC was working fine in one room only and was noisy.3. Areas besides toilets and shower cabinet containing some strange insects.4. The mosquito net wasn’t clean — you could actually see dead mosquitoes on it.

A Divine Birthday Escape at The Oberoi Lombok! I chose to celebrate my birthday at The Oberoi Lombok after reading many glowing reviews and my personal experience not only lived up to the praise, it surpassed it. The resort exudes a beautiful, worldly charm with an understated elegance that feels timeless. Set across 12 hectares of immaculately landscaped gardens with beach frontage, the grounds are a peaceful haven. We were lucky enough to witness a spectacular sunset right from the beach, truly unforgettable. While the pool may not be as expansive as some larger resorts, its setting is perfect, framed by nature and overlooking the ocean. It offers an atmosphere of pure relaxation and quiet luxury. The service is where The Oberoi truly shines. Every interaction with the staff was met with genuine warmth and professionalism. Their attention to detail, from presentation to hospitality, was impeccable. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of exceptional. As it was my birthday, the team made the occasion feel truly special in a way that was both thoughtful and discreet, adding an extra layer of warmth to an already unforgettable stay. Our garden view room was luxurious in every way. The thoughtful touches throughout, from the amenities to the room layout—reflect the hotel’s commitment to excellence and guest comfort. There are simply too many beautiful details to list. I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend The Oberoi Lombok to anyone seeking a refined, tranquil, and luxurious experience. It was an absolute joy to stay here, and I look forward to returning again.

Our family (with young children) had an amazing time at Oberoi Lombok. The rooms are spacious and the staff were excellent and accommodating. The food was delicious as well, at both their on site cafe and restaurant. Would recommend this place to those looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway. While it is a quite a distance from the main airport, it is close to the 3 Gili islands and is a suitable launchpad for those beautiful snorkelling trips (boat charter services available as well, top notch service). One point perhaps is that while the place is kids friendly, it is not kids oriented. However, they do make an effort to have various activities to keep the young ones occupied. well recommended.
